Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.
Christine is a single mom who is now by herself and is finding herself at a loose end until she comes across something that has become caught in a trap on her land and this changes her life. Roarn is a Tiger Monstrum Kindred and he has been surviving in his beast for some years and she finds the effect she has on his beast to be quite humbling.
The relationship that grows between the pair is a wonderful read and I could not put the book down once I started reading and I am sure that other readers will feel the same about this Kindred story.
Christine knows that she can only keep him hidden away for so long, the feelings she has for him are very real and he knows that she has made a huge change to his life in her scent clearing the Fury from his mind.

In Evangeline Anderson’s newest romance, Taming the Tiger, we visit with the Monstrum Kindred again. She has previously introduced us to many varieties of Kindred in our galaxy, but the Monstrum come from a different galaxy. Their planet has been overrun by horrible creatures that eat flesh. One Mother Ship managed to escape by getting through to our galaxy. Living on it are the Monstrum Kindred, and this novel gives us a brief visit inside it. The novel also contains the third type we’ve met: a Tiger Monstrum.
Roarn witnessed a traumatic experience during the war for his planet five years earlier and has been lost to the Fury ever since, living more like a beast than a man. In those five years, he has committed deeds that have condemned him to prison, until he escapes to Earth. There he meets Christine, a single mom approaching menopause, who feels her life is over. She is able to free Roarn from a trap on her land set by her drug-making neighbors. When he smells her scent, he is able to free himself from the worst of the Fury. How long will it last?
Although I have enjoyed meeting all the remarkable Kindred Ms. Anderson has introduced to us previously, I have delighted in meeting the Monstrum. They all have dual looks and personalities by combining the characteristics of the animal and human. Roarn, for example, looks like a tiger with striped fur covering his body, knuckles that can release claws, and tiger fangs. He also has the physical and mental attributes of our Kindred.
Ms. Anderson stays true to her reputation of writing exotic adventures with hot segments of angst and steam. Realizing how many animals we are already familiar with, I hope we will have more of the Monstrum in future books. I have relished all three she has written about the Monstrum Kindred! . Great characters, both courageous and flawed. Christine is an older woman that has experience with loss, children, divorce, and a career with animals. She’s the perfect woman to help Roarn through his Fury. She is selfless, bold, and smart.
Roarn is stuck in a horrible cycle of guilt, anger, sadness, and regret. The mental illness that is the Fury is keeping him from living his life. He’s kind, caring, brave, and has survived a war. Roarn is someone that just needs some extra care.
Their growing relationship is fraught with danger and suspense. There is a criminal element near Christine’s home and Roarn is wanted by his own people. They must be on constant guard. I rather enjoy that Evangeline Anderson always makes sure the bad/evil characters get what they deserve. She doesn’t discriminate when it comes to justice.
Taming the Tiger is an intriguing erotic paranormal story with a fast-moving plot and fun characters. We are introduced to the Monstrum Mothership in this book. I really hope we get to see more of it in the future because the small introduction was chock-full of creative and imaginative ideas.
Highly recommend this story if you are looking for an erotic romance with a paranormal/alien aspect.
If I had to describe this book in two words it would be; Animalistic Passion. In this book we have met another Monstrum kindred and I liked this one more than the last. The story was engaging, romantic and also adventurous. A common theme I’m noticing is the partners of the monstrum kindred seem to know exactly what they want (which makes for great reading) and they won’t let anyone stop them. A great read and another 5 star book from miss Anderson!. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mackenzie Cartwright has been narrating Evangeline Anderson’s books for almost a decade now. Since I’m a big fan of Anderson’s I’ve listened to a number of Cartwright’s performances. As such I can say with all assurance that this was the best performance of the bunch. I mean, I always enjoy listening to Cartwright but this time around she blew me out of the water. Her performance had everything- acting, different voices and speech patterns for different characters and a phenomenal pace. I couldn’t have asked for more from her.
In this one, we meet more of the Monstrum, who have punched through from another dimension (with the assistance of the Goddess of All Life) to escape the "Darklings" a malevolent force that eats its victims alive.
The Monstrum, though they are animalistic, are sentient at all times. However...they seem to not be great about dealing with the fall out of their long battle with the Darklings. Some of their warriors are suffering from mental battle wounds, including Roarn who witnessed his brother Toarn be eaten alive by the Darklings 5 years ago. He has entered a state the Monstrum call "Fury" which is like a never ending rage that makes the Monstrum revert from sane and calm to fully animalistic in their behavior.
The solution the Monstrum have come up with to deal with these damaged warriors is to ship them off to a prison planet. Yes, you read that right - they are going to incarcerate a fellow sentient being in a prison (a place for beings that have committed crimes), instead of trying to find some way to help repair the damage to his mind.
As they are transporting him, a shuttle accident occurs and he winds up crashing near the home of his fated mate, who saves him from a literal trap, and then the trap his mind has set up for him. They spend two weeks together, healing one anothers mental wounds, before a crisis happens to bring his mental illness back to the surface. When he is finally recovered by the Kindred, they once again insist that he must be committed to a prison for the benefit of the Monstrum Kindred (not his own benefit!)
As someone who has been threatened with a grippy sock vacation because of my PTSD and post-partum psychosis, I say "Frack you, Monstrums!" and not in the fun sexy way.
Fortunately for our hero Roarn, the heroine Christine is also rightfully outraged and demands to be taken to see Roarn before he is shipped off to what will be a certain death, if not in fact, then at least in the form of a living death, trapped by his own mind in reliving the tragic death of his brother.
The Monstrum also seem to be fond of hiding their more aggressive "monstrous" brethren in an out of the way part of the ship. It just overall felt very icky - reminiscent of the commitment and warehousing of mentally ill people that was common in our not too recent past. I hope that Anderson is planning on teasing out some story lines about the Monstrum realizing that what they are doing is wrong and bad and inhumane.
Purrrrrrrfect🔥🔥💖💖 I definitely want my very own Monsterum
Roarn is a Tiger 🐅 Monsterum who has lost himself to the Fury. Only very traumatizing and horrific experience can set off the Fury and only a mate can truly bring a warrior back to himself. This leaves the other Monsterum no choice to to lock up any who suffers from it. On the way the shuttle carrying Roarn crashes and he escape into the mou towns of Virginia. Christine an almost 50 something woman who is a Vet tech in a small town just sent her third child off to college. She's been working hard to raise her children alone since their father took off years ago. When she finds Roarn near the crash caught in a bear trap she's does everything she can to free him. When he escapes he follows her home . As Roarn heals his body and mind he and Christine become c!owed and closer with every day that passes. He still struggles with the Fury but Christine and her sent keep it at bay. But he road to a sound mind and love never did run smooth 😘😘 there is just enough danger to keep you on your toes and the threat of being torn apart forever that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a fake of love, passion and healing and a truly great addition to the series. I can't wait for more I do believe that the Monsterum mother ship holds many passionate forever love stories just waiting to be told and I can't wait! Highly recommend!💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥
I am glad Evangeline has moved onto a new type of hero, it gives the stories some diversity. This story had a big, sexy, virgin tiger man. He is damaged and only she can save him, by fucking and being knitted by him!😆
With all the unrealistic details one reall bothers me. Apparently they have jail cells set to time locks that once set, no one can change. So… you have a door that only opens one a week and there is nothing anyone can do…. I have a lot of questions about this. So, when that inmate is gone, you can’t reset the time. It is just, a week long door forever, until they scrap the ship? Um, if the inmate has any type of emergency… you can’t assist for a week? His dying body could just be laying there for days until the time lock opens? If a guard steps inside and the door shuts.. the guard has to move in there for a week? This makes no sense!!
Virgin rating: Innocence of virgin hero: 4/5 Innocence in losing it: 2/5 Build up to losing it: 5/5 Hotness of losing it: 3/5 Busted touching himself: no POV: female
This book is about Christine, a single older mom living alone in the woods, and Roarn, a monstrum Kindred that is mentally lost in "the fury" due to all the emotional pain he's endured. Christine comes to his rescue and he feels immediately calmed by her presence. The start to form a close bond and Roarn begins to heal emotionally by being with Christine. They encounter some hurdles that they must over come in order to be together.
I just loved the interaction between the two characters and just how sweet and tender they were with each other. Christine never judged Roarn for being a Monstrum and found a deep connection when she never thought she would again. I wish the story was longer because I really enjoyed being in their world and seeing their characters come together and become bonded. I am sure we will see them again, just like all our other Kindred friends.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Taming the Tiger: Kindred Tales #42-Evangeline Anderson
It was very special to read a book where the heroine was a woman who was an empty nester who had the experience of motherhood and yet was ready for a new start. Roarn is a Monstrum Kindred who looks like a human with features and some behaviors of a Tiger. He is suffering from PTSD as well as falling into possible Fury states, causing him to be in danger of being put down if caught. Christine the brave heroine and vet tech frees Roarn when he gets caught in a bear trap. Christine helps take away his “Fury” which is quite the miracle. Their connection becomes very deep and of course quite sensual and steamy. Christine can not understand his attraction to her but the Monstrum regard women like her as having their second stage after menopause and makes her even more desirable. This was an awesome story that is a page turner full of all the adventure, imagination and hotness that all the readers of this author love.
I liked chapter 23. The chapter made me laugh and smile a bit. About just the way that police are. I liked this book straight away. I like the cats that Christeen has very much. I liked Rov and felt sad for him in the beginning of the book 📚. I liked chapter 31 has well with all the love actions to do with tasting each other. I would like to have s boyfriend that is more helpful around the house 🏠. Me and boyfriend have more with me riding his penis's and a comdom on while he his sitting on a chair and it works like you said more steamating for male and female parkner's. After chapter 23 I was finding I didn't like putting the book 📚 down and whated to read more of the book. I liked it when Christine was getting a revanage with a shotgun and that was when I found that I liked Christine beening a hero. I liked the revanage and heroin of Roarn and Christine in the book and of the police people too. Liked the last chapter's all 8 of them from chapter 42 onwards. I couldn't put the book 📚 down. I liked the idea of being with a Tiger for a man in my life. I would like to read more mostrum Kindered books in the future.

Roarn and Christine’s story was everything I’d hoped it would be, and more. I was incredibly happy with how Roarn was described. It gave a clear visual in my mind of what a Tiger Monstrum actually looks like. I loved the couple’s every day interactions and the intense buildup between them while he was coming back to his right mind. I can’t deny to being a bit apprehensive with the sexy aspect of a more animalistic Kindred, but there was no need. True to all things Kindred, Roarn was just as attentive and ridiculously satisfying as we’ve come to expect, with a sinfully delicious intensity that heightened the sensuality of each sexual encounter. I’m definitely ready for more Monstrum. I’m especially ooking forward to learning more about what’s on the dark side of the Monstrum Mother ship.
Taming the Tiger by author Evangeline Anderson is the 42nd book in the Kindred series. These books do not have to be read in order for the reader to understand the storyline. I love this series. I am always looking for the newest to come out. Christine: single mom. Going through empty nest syndrome. She doesn’t think she has a bright future to look forward to. That is until she meets Roarn. Roarn: he is tiger monstrum kindred. He is trapped in the mental state called the Fury. He cannot change back. He had a trauma five years ago and now cannot get back to the man side of his personality. That is until Christine offers to help him. I really love the emotion and love in this story. I cannot wait for more from this series in the future.
I love these Monstrum Kindred, what middle aged woman wouldn't want to look 25 years younger and still have the life experience. Roarn is a tiger Monstrum, due to trauma in a state of rage, being transported to a prison his ship crashes. Christine a woman in the empty nester stage rescues him from a trap. Although dangerous he is intrigued by her scent. Could the Goddess have brought them together knowing that they needed each other. I loved this story right from the beginning. Their journey of love as he grew to understand Earth and her finding love after years of raising children alone. Fantastic series, I highly recommend it.
I’m loving the Monstrum Kindred. They are so different from the other kindred and there are so many types. Can’t wait to see what type we meet next. This story is almost completely on Earth. We find ourselves in the hills of Virginia. Are heroine is Christine. She is an older and mature woman and is also beyond nice. The story really shows so many aspects of her that you really feel like you know her. Then there is Roarn and boy is he a bid male who happens to have the markings of a tiger. His story is unique and how they meet is definitely dangerous. But Christine seems to know how to tame a wild beast but can she protect her heart from falling for him?
Evangeline Anderson did an excellent job writing Taming the tiger 🐅. The Monstrun Kindred are becoming my favorite in the kindred series. This book did not disappoint me at all you get all the feels the steamy love scenes the action the rescue and with the help of the goddess and a few other characters u will be hooked. I love how loyal and honorable the kindred are towards women and they just amazing characters ive grown to love all the kindred warriors. Outstanding book. Can't wait to read the next book.
Another fantastic read and a great addition to this series. I'm totally loving the Monstrum Kindred they're slowly becoming my favorite Kindred. As usual this read doesn't disappoint you get all the feels with the added action, intrigue, steamy romance, and the divine intervention of the lovely goddess and friends to make this a helluva read. So looking forward to the next book in this series. I received a free copy via Booksprout As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
I love the Kindred and Monstrum and can't wait to see what the Goddess has in the cards for these new warriors. Now on to the bad...I'm lucky I finished this book. I set it aside approximately 40% read and weeks later came back to it. Why? Dialogue, especially during sexy time read like 1980's pornography. By the heroine not the Hero. If I read the word baby one more time in such a condescending manner (my interpretation) I was going to destroy my phone or pour bleach in my eyes. Yes I'm going to read the next Monstrum story but with fingers crossed and a prayer up to the Goddess.
This was one of Ms. Anderson’s steamier stories with all of the Kindred- style lovIng one would expect! The hero is more vulnerable as he suffers from a form of PTSD and the heroine is in the unique position to not only help him work though his issues and provide comfort but also to heal him completely. I enjoyed this story.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Not sure how I feel about this Kindred Tale. The heroine was calling the hero honey and baby in a matter of days. They were doing heavy petting and having oral sex in a matter of days also. That was kind of a turn off. Editing was a little off, Roarn the hero was sometimes spelled Rarev which was the name of the hero from a previous Kindred Tale. Will I read more books by this author, probably.
This is another great book about the Monstrum Kindred. A human woman living alone in the mountains. She works for a veterinarian taking care of animals. A tiger monster kindred is on his way to a prison planet due to being lost in the fury. Unfortunately the transport he is in crashes into the mountain. You will have to read the book to find out what happens when the two meet and what else happens to both of them. Fantastic story!
Every Kindred story has been entertaining, but I think this one by far is the best. The interaction and chemistry between the characters is great. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book, as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Honest, pure emotional attraction is what is found between Tiger Monstrum Roarn upon meeting vet tech Christine when she helps free him from a horribly painful situation. Fate brought them together and nothing could keep them apart - Goddess willing! Love this foray into the newest Kindred 'Verse. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Roarn is a monstrum who looks like a tiger Kindred. I fell in love with him from the minute Christine helps free his leg from a bear trap. Christine lives in a small town in the Virginia mountains and works as a vet tech. After freeing him, she returns to her cabin only to find he had followed her. I highly recommend this book. Plz enjoy!
With these new kindred everything is so different, but some is just the same. This guy has been in a bad place for a long time, but when he finds his mate he changes. This is a sweet story and I love how she’s in her second heat (or an older lady). I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Love the Monstrum Kindred!! I really loved Roarn and Christine's instant connection. The story line was very good especially showcasing the different struggles the monstrum kindred can experience vs the regular kindred. It was interesting seeing the more animalistic side that they have to encounter and how Christine was so patient and loving with him. I loved this story and cannot wait for more!
Wonderful story and characters. The heroine and hero were so perfect for each other. He was mentally damaged and she was caring and giving. There was a great storyline with a really bad guy or three. And I absolutely loved how everything ended. Except, what happened to the dogs?
Seems that there was quite a bit that was left out. How did her kids react to the situation? Suprised that more if the search for Roarn wasnt included. How did the Fenton guy get Jenny? What was up with the lack of response from the police? Did notice a few typos throughout that generally aren't there. Cant wait to see what is going on in the next one.
I liked the book but it has more typos than I’m used to to. The author keeps using the wrong name for the person talking, specifically she mixes up Rosen and Rarev. That was distracting. If you don’t get hung up on the technical issues the book is an easy read. On to the next book in the series.
