Being the son of 'Santa Claus' is my worst nightmare because my father is an evil dictator. He may be celebrated the world over for who he is, but everyone in Northington hates him. When I'm old enough to no longer have to put up with his bullsh*t, I decide to run away from home. But two of his 'elves' plan to make my escape very, very difficult. Ryder and Kas. We were good friends once until they started hating me for turning a blind eye to his tyranny. It isn't enough that they bully me every chance they get. No. They want to ruin me completely. So they pick a night on which they know my father won't be here to stop them. In the history of Northington, there has never been a Christmas the elves have wanted to remember. Until Kas and Ryder set themselves loose on this town. And on me. ... Note: 'North' is an MMM novella with a dystopian holiday setting. It's also the prequel to an upcoming MMMM series called 'North University'. The story contains themes such as bullying, dub con and coercion amongst the MCs along with a subplot dealing with abduction, child abuse&labor and negligence. May be upsetting for fans of Santa Claus.

Look, it’s no secret that I really enjoy Zee Shine Storm books and that I would read anything he writes. This is a MMM enemies to lovers Christmas novella about a world with a evil Santa Clause that tortures children and it includes bullying and coercion, so it was a given I would enjoy this book because I love all of these things in books, but god did I love it.
This is a short prequel for an upcoming series and I just want more of this series already, i’m so into this entire concept for a series.
Also, a novella has never hit me this much before. I was so invested in this and cried my eyes out for half of the novella, it really got to me and I loved every seconds of it. Also, I cried during the sex scenes, so thats when you know a book really got to me.
Brief summary Nikolas is the son of Santa Claus, who is an horrible man that takes advantage of orphans that he uses as his elves. Nikolas plans to escape one night but he is kidnaped by Kas and Ryder. Kas and Ryder thinks that Nikolas’ life is perfect and they want to corrupt him. So they start to brutalize him and they plan their excape from where they live at the same time.
I loved the atmosphere and the general vibe of this book. The book did a really good job at showing the setting and describing it. The world in the book felt so vivid and so real due to how it was described and I loved reading about it. I loved the entire atmosphere of this book so much, the dark and myserious vibe of it was everything I love in a book. Also I love the idea of a corrupted Santa Claus that is ruining people’s lives, it’s such a fascinating concept to me.
I loved the three characters in this book. I loved Nik so much, I felt really bad for him through the entire book and I just wanted to give him a big hug. I also loved Kas, he was such a fun character and I loved how he didn’t have the best life but he wasn’t a damsel in distress and always tried to better his life. I also loved Ryder, he was sweet and caring and I really enjoyed his character too. I loved how they all felt alive and like real people I could have met on the street, they were such strong characters.
Side notes, the sex scenes were scorching in this and I absolutely adored them.
And thank you to Candy for buddy reading with me, we had such a good time reading this book!
Wow, I'm very much looking forward to this series! Great little teaser and set-up. So well done and with so few words. I wanted to jump right into the next... But I'll wait. *sigh*
This was a fascinating take on 'Santa' and the different aspects. A horrible take as well. This short story is so heartbreaking and only gets more so as more things are revealed. Things were not sugar-coated.
I thought what happened towards the end - to Northington - was very fitting.
Kas and Ryder are great together and I love how it shows their relationship. It's both playful, ridiculous and hot all at once. And then when Nik is thrown into the mix...!
This is the first book I've read of Storm's and I will definitely be reading more. Even the brief descriptors at the end with his books has me interested!
MMM DARK Romance Prequel To North University Series Dubcon/Bad Santa 3.5 Stars ⭐️
This is the prequel to the Dark Academia MMMM book coming out later this year. This one is MMM, kind of, at least by the end. LoL The majority of this book is a dubcon fuckfest between an already established couple and the son of a horrible fucked up man. This story portrays the North Pole, Santa Claus and his elves in a not so merry way. Not going to lie, it captured my attention because WTF 🤬 and I say that in the best of ways.
I am even more excited to read the actual book now and I expect to be taken on a dark, deviant ride because holy hell if this is the prequel, I can only imagine what the actual book will be like.
Yep this worked for me, such a different and dark dark take on Santa, his son and his elves! My second time reading since I forgot to add it here on my GR that first time when I purchased the book. Excited to read my early reader copy of North University next. ZS Storm always makes me feel with his books and this is no different, perfect prequel to NU.🔥❤️
Nothing like turning Santa upside down in a twisted as mmm novella, only Zee Storm can achieve leading up to the next series.
I don’t get into the whole reading Christmas novella thing generally. They’re usually too fluffy and cliched. This, however, tickled my little black heart, with a surprise release. It’s dark, it’s taboo — Ryder, Kas and Nik — what a messed up trio these boys are via circumstance.
Kas’ protective nature, despite his “𝒹𝒶𝓇𝓀, 𝒹𝒶𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓇𝑜𝓊𝓈 𝓁𝒶𝓎𝑒𝓇 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝒸𝒽 𝒽𝑒 𝓂𝑜𝓈𝓉𝓁𝓎 𝓀𝑒𝓅𝓉 𝒽𝒾𝒹𝒹𝑒𝓃 𝒷𝑒𝒽𝒾𝓃𝒹 𝒶 𝒸𝒶𝓁𝓂 𝑒𝓍𝓉𝑒𝓇𝒾𝑜𝓇,” sets them on a path no doubt any one of them realised was an option.
Their intent to retaliate against those who’ve done them harm starts off evilly…
True to the author’s style, no holds barred topic wise. Heed the warnings. Potential for triggers abound.
I’d say this is Storm’s best yet. Heck yes I’m giving a five star to a novella. One click this. It’s dark, there are witty quips, these boys made my heart bleed though.
I've been following this author for a while like close to two years, love following his stories, admire that he writes how and what he wants, and have a collection of his books started ...lol...but haven't actually read one until now. 😁
Book one, Dark North, in his North University series is coming soon so I figured this prequel novella North would be the perfect introduction in the world of books by Z.
While I've read some dark books, I've not read much with bullying not knowing how I'd like it and I can definitely say that I wasn't disappointed either. I was pulled right into the story wanting to know what was going to happen next with the these 3 mc's Nikolas, Ryder, and Kas. I felt bad for all 3 mc's past and circumstances that brought them to this point but was excited for what was going down by the end (without giving any spoilers). I loved the writing style of the author and I'm anticipating what's gonna happen in book one of this new seires...especially in meeting Xavier ..that I've heard about in some early reviews. The spice level was super🔥 already so I can't wait to see how he adds to that!🥵🤤🔥
As this is a dark book with possible triggering content, make sure to read all the CW's especially if you have triggers. Highly recommend to anyone who loves darker themed books.
This book was so beautifully disturbing. I loved all of them.
Nik, the sweet misunderstood boy.
Kas, the tortured and unloved boy.
Ryd, the fun loving friendly boy.
These three make the perfect trio, even though it's unconventional. The story was so emotional, I felt for each one of them. Can't wait to read further. All of them have their demons they are fighting but I feel that together they can overcome anything.
I highly recommend this for anyone who likes dark romance with tortured souls, and MM action.
I had been patiently waiting for this little nugget to drop, and I was not disappointed. This dark, twisted novella is the prequel of Zee's North University series, which, if this book is anything to go by, is going to be epic in true Zee style. This MMM novella is a twisted take on a Christmas novella and sucks you in from the start. It's short but has you falling in love with all the boys from the beginning. I can't wait to read the series, which will be MMMM and hopefully out in the summer.
This dark twisted MMM novella prequel is a great read written by Zee. These three boys had a horrible past and with the escape from Northinghton where no one ever saw the lights. This looks like it’s going to be a great beginning of their journey.
I can’t wait to see what happens with these boys once they get on with their life.
Well damn, that was hot as f***. Zee always manages to make it intense & so, so 🔥. This MMM novella had a holiday twist as well. First time I have read about a disturbed Santa Claus. But boy did Zee do it well. Nik, Kas & Ryder had me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait for Dark North to come out in June 2022!
This was a super quick read and a good set up to meet some of the characters that will be in this series. I was intrigued by the dynamic between Kas, Ryder and Nikolas. There past is traumatic and heartbreaking.
A brilliant introduction in to what feels like an amazing new series from Zee. It may be short but it certainly packs a punch! I can't wait to read more about these 3 and learn what makes them tick.
Unusual story, but I enjoyed it. I'm definitely intrigued enough to read the next book when it comes out. This is not for everyone--read the warnings. Dubcon-noncon for sure.
Zee has done it again!! Her writing style is so passionate and unique, she piques your interest and holds it hostage until the r very last word. The intensity of the storm within these pages was the start of what’s to follow in a new series. These three boys were tragically beautiful souls, forced to live within the walls of “Santa Claus’” sanctuary.
Nik, the son of Santiago Clausen, also referred to as Santa Claus, is so broken and tormented, forced to live a life away from his friends. He’s so pure and innocent, completely opposite of his father.
Kas and Ryder were so dark and twisted, having been forced into activities no child should have to endure. Kas being the protective one, Ryder outgoing and friendly, set out on a path towards freedom.
True to Zee fashion, the heated passion was released and the notch turned up. I am so excited for this series with not just one couple, but four guys involved! Zee has brought the steam, nastiness, and enticement , ten stars to an amazing beginning!
I love the premise of this- Santa is a bad man. The myth we’ve been told is all wrong. Instead he’s a businessman with a penchant for boys. This prequel is a delicious tid bit to the coming MMMM series. We’ve met Nikolai’s, Kas & Ryder in this story. They were once friends then enemies, can they be friends again- or more? Can’t wait for the series 5/5 ⭐️ for this spunky prequel.
The whole way the story of Santa was handled makes me feel like this is how it would actually be. The characters are all portrayed well and I can't wait to read the main series🥰
I read this prequel today and I'm ready for the next book, Dark North, I can't wait to see what Kas, Ryder, Nick and Xavier will experience!! I love this author, all the anguish and passion he puts into the books is absolutely magical, magnetic and engaging!! 5⭐
This short story is amazing! I cried so hard for them but I love them and I can't wait to find out what happens next! All three of them together are so hot! 🥵
