Just didn't do it for me this time
It's not you, it's me. Or maybe it isn't just me. I loved the Broken Cross series and was intrigued with Ace Bolton in that. I couldn't wait to read his story and enjoyed The Billionaire's Auction, apart from the cliffhanger obviously! This time around, I felt the writing was pedestrian and repetitive, as though Bri couldn't quite find her rhythm. There was a lot going on but I struggled and put it down a few times because I needed a break from it. I have read all of Bri's other books and this is the first time I've felt like this with her work. I usually race through her books and look forward to the next one eagerly so that's why I don't know if it's me or Bri now. What I do know is that I won't stop reading her books and I'm waiting for The Billionaire's Vengeance because I need to see Ace unleash his anger on all his enemies.
The writing was no more than two stars this time, but more than enough happened to move the story on and bring Ace and Harlow back together and open up to each other to make it four stars, so it evens out as a three star read.

Harlow and Ace. They are amazing. It took her leaving him to get past the demons that haunted him. Her bravery to face him again in a situation she never imagined herself in says so much for her persona. We already knew she was strong but this is a different level of strength. The kiss. Wow. This kiss was a turning point for them. I figured all along that Emma was not who she appeared to be. I also have a feeling that "Beyond The Page" might be under Falcone's control. 🤔
I LOVE that Bri has included the Cross family in this. Just seeing a name from a previous story triggers the memory of a fantastic tale she has beautifully woven for her readers.
My only complaint in this story was that the sex scenes seemed a little repetitive. Not that they weren't hot, but it kinda felt like I knew the scene before I read it.

First ... this book is NOT A STANDALONE.
Honestly, go check out her previous series because places and people from that series are connected to this trilogy.
Having said that ...
This book is SWEET!
It picks up were book 1 ends and yes ... it leaves on a cliffhanger.
Between those two places, so much happens.
Ace starts unpacking feelings from his life and realizes the stupidity of things he's said and done.
Harlow acted on some of the words Ace spewed, and when Ace realized her actions, he knew he was in the wrong and had to figure out how to make life better for himself.
The question is - does he have that chance to make things good for him and Harlow?
Seriously .... will we get that answer?!

This is the second book in The Ruthless Billionaire Trilogy and follows The Billionaire's Auction. This series is not intended as a standalone and should be read in order. There are some triggers for abuse and violence but I did not find anything offensive. You will find references and interconnecting characters with the Cross Series so you'll enjoy that if you've read that series. Harlow and Ace are amazing characters that will involve you emotionally. This is a wonderful series that will capture your attention right at the beginning. This book is hard to put down once you start reading. I received an advance reader copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it. Wow what a cliffhanger but everything will be solved in the next and last book.

This is the crux of the situation between Ace and Harlow. Lost, hurt, uncertainty, questions on loyalty. Both Ace and Harlow fall into this category. Each has a past that involves expectations. Rash decisions brought them to realize what is in front of them Who breaks first but with what outcome. Horrible secrets held close to his soul was always a burden for Ace. The lost of his mother, what he was forced to endure as a young man, a grandfather that he despises.
Again, what role does Emma play? Who is she there for?
Cliffhanger as expressed by Bri. A lot of emotions were outlaid here. What Ace and Harlow faced were torturous. You need to read The Billionaire's Auction to understand what and whom Ace & Harlow are. What has bought them to this situation. Questions still on Emma but also Ace's Grandfather. Does he have something to do with Harlow's situation?
Overall, an awaited continuation to the Ruthless Billionaire Trilogy. Death, assault, an emotional roller coaster, it was all here. A further in-depth look into Ace was presented but what will Billionaires Vengeance bring forth? Will it be closure and conclusion? It is a trilogy but....
to readers, there may be trigger issues for some, so be aware. Highly sexual and gravitating. It is all here. A worthy series to be read, so give it a go. For lovers of Bri, you won't be disappointed. Most definitely recommend. Do read in order to understand, also, do read Cross series as the characters cross over.

I like this author and I like the main characters in this trilogy. The storyline and plot seemed to bogged down in book 2 with too much of "two steps forward and three steps backward". I just felt that book two lost some of the excitement and intensity that were prevalent in book 1. Finding Harlow and bringing her back was one of the the hi-point's of the second book as well as Ace's declaration of "love" but the rest of the book seemed "mediocre". Depending on Book 3, I'm not sure at this point if this should have been a duet vs., a trilogy. Time will tell with the release of book three.
Book one didn't give me any indication that Ace and Harlow's story would turn into a love story but book 2 definitely wrapped that up. There is no doubt that these characters are drawn to each other, but book 2 does a good job defining them as well as labeling this as a love story and not just sex and lust. It's a dark read but definitely not as dark as many novels I have read, but has enough of darkness to keep most readers happy.

We are on the second book in the Ruthless Billionaire Trilogy and Harlow has ran from Ace with the help of a Friend or so we think she is a Friend. As she tries to start over again we see her struggle with the thoughts of not being with Ace and how she is supposed to move on. Ace has come to a realization that he cannot live without Harlow and will burn the city down to find her. When he finally does find and save her he promises he will do everything to keep her safe. Ace has been fighting demons from his past and it was wonderful to see him open up to Harlow and express some emotions to her. We finally see that she can accept him for who he is and his past and we see how in love they are. There are so many secrets that still need to come out and twists and mysteries that need to be solved. Will he be able to keep them safe and will they finally get there HEA. This story is a great escape and you will fall deep into their world. Phenomenal read and can't wait to get the next book to see how this all ends. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Harlow finds herself away from Ace with the help of her friend. With Harlow gone, Ace is doing everything he can to find her in order to keep her safe. When Harlow’s past catches up to her, she is finding herself in the arms of Ace again. Thinking that she’s not going to have time, she ends up seeing a whole new side of Ace and they can’t fight their feelings for long. But now a new obstacle is standing in their way of a happily ever after.
The writing was great and the suspense/drama/conflict was perfect. The steam was flowing with their chemistry, and the way they show their love for each other was perfect. I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next!

This is the second book in this incredible trilogy. Harlow is strong, brave, and resilient, and having fled from Ace, with some help, she is in hiding. Ace is haunted by his demons, and he will do whatever he must to find Harlow and keep her safe and protected. Harlow now sees another side to Ace. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and they complement each other perfectly. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and intense, with intrigue, suspense, danger, drama, emotions, violence, challenges, and love, which lead to a steamy page turner. I look forward to reading the concluding part of this trilogy, and I highly recommend this talented authors work.

This is the third book in The Ruthless billionaire Trilogy. Ace finally gets vengeance on those that have wronged him and Harlow. Ace and Harlow ended up living in light and airy homes instead of that mausoleum monstrosity that Ace was slowly fading away in. Ace has let Harlow in and given her his love and protection. He will do anything to keep her safe and show her every day how much he loves her. When her life is once again threatened and he finds himself in the position of waiting to see is she will survive he is determined if she does nothing will ever hurt her again. Harlow is so in love with Ace and the more he takes care of her the more she falls for him. These two are a powerful couple together she will push him to become the best man he can. There are till twists and action and things you didn't see coming to make it even better.

Ok. Take some hot, make you blush steaminess in one hand. Take some that feeling of edgy waiting something to blow up in the other. Now, clap and read the pretty storm as it falls across the page.
One part of me, the darker mean part,says, it’s perfect. A too good to be true story just waiting the f*@#ening (you’ve seen the meme, right) to happen and ruin it all. The suspense is palatable and you just can’t guess which snake from the underground is going to strike. It’s kind of delicious.
Another part of me wants to be like that viral dude from the video screaming about Ms. Spears but more like, “LEAVE HARLOW AND ACE ALONE!” Geez!
Either way, I dug it! I’ll happily be here on this cliff waiting for The Billionaire’s Vengeance.

I want to start by saying that I love this universe as a whole and everytime I get to visit it makes me so happy. Billionaire's Possession picked up right from where Billionaire's Auction left off. Harlow leaves Ace because he is incapable of giving her what she needs. I am so curious about what is going on with Emma for real. I side eyed her hard in book 1 but now I am giving her a firm stare. I love that Harlow is beginning to get a little bit darker and willing to do what she needs to to right some of the wrongs done to her. I also LOVE that Ace is embracing his feelings more and we get to see a softer side of him. I am a little mad at Bri for ending the book in a cliffie. I have no chill and I need the 3rd book!!!

This is book #2 in the Ruthless Billionaire trilogy. It should not be read as a stand-alone and there are triggers. With the help of a friend (?), Harlow is running away from Ace because, in book 1, he told her their arrangement wasn’t working. But, when she’s gone, Ace moves heaven and earth to find her. When he brings her home, things are perfect between them. But, then another situation crops up! I love this trilogy! There’s so much drama, action and suspense. And Steam! Part 2 ends in a thrilling cliffhanger. I cannot wait to see what happens next. *this honest, voluntary review is based on a complimentary copy*

Ace and Harlow, Part 2. Harlow was devastated when Ace told her their arrangement was over, so she ran away. Emma was there to help her making all sorts of accommodations, including a place to stay and money to keep her going. Ace is determined to find her and bring her back. Falcone and Ian are also hot on her trail. Lots of suspense and some violence as well as romance. Ace is finding it more and more difficult to stay away from Harlow. Great second part of the trilogy, but it again ends on a cliffhanger! Oh, but what a wonderful story. Ace is becoming more human and Harlow begins to be more confident. Fantastic book and I can't wait to read Part 3!!

This book is an exciting and fast paced book which is the second in the Ruthless Billionaires trilogy. Harlow escape a from Ace but is found by him as Ian breaks into her home and assaults her. Harlow and Ace find the truth about Mama Robinson and Falcone as well as the truth about Emma. Ace and Harlow finally admit their feelings for one another. This fantastic book ends in an exciting cliffhanger. The story will continue in The Billionaire’s Vengeance which is the final book in this Excellent Triligy.

I really enjoyed reading part of the 2 of this dark romance trilogy, it moves the story along, with Ace and Harlow's relationship continuing to develop. There are some moments of extreme violence (please do read the trigger warnings) but I felt they were warranted for the story and reflective of the characters. There are also some very hot sex scenes taking the steam level for this series off the charts. Ends on a cliffhanger and with the third and final part being called The Billionaire's Vengeance I'm sure the action will be intense.

She let her guard down and he had crush her hope and dreams. Her gut told her this would happen again, no one wanted her. So she ran, she had to hide but where could she go? With no friends or family, with very limited funds, she was doomed. I really enjoyed this second book, hope you do too. I read it in one sitting.

I am loving the growing relationship between Ace & Harlow and what he feels for her now however I just felt that this book seemed a little rushed in places.
It hasn’t stopped me enjoying it but I just felt the author could have slowed down a little.
I’m totally confused about what Ace is missing in the paperwork, what is up with Emma?
Where Falcone is and why his grandfather told him to watch his back….. oh and how did Emma get in there when she is supposed to have bodyguards??
Let’s see what this next book brings.

I do love this series
The writing is great but I think this second book drags a little. It's such a great read but I'm not always into long drawn out scenarios. I think this and the next book could have been combined because its just drawing out with the Falcone and Emma drama. Now the grandfather is brought into it. So, I wouldn't not recommend this book but it's just not holding my attention like the first. However I'm definitely reading the conclusion next! I love Bri Blackwood and I know you will also!

A really nice love story
I am really enjoying this Trilogy. I like the way the author ties this to the broken cross series. The story fits really well with the characters from the Cross series. Ace and Harlow are a good match for one another. Both had a challenging upbringing. It is interesting to see how their bond evolved. Now if only they can escape their enemies, and I am sure Ace will make sure they succeed. Cannot wait for book three.

This series is a thrill ride with unforgettable characters and a fast-paced story that kept me on the edge of my seat and now I can hardly wait for the next book to find out what happens. I really like the skin-scorching chemistry between Ace and Harlow and are rooting for them. If you enjoy dark billionaire romance, don't miss the Ruthless Billionaire Trilogy. Harlow and Ace continue to yank on my heartstrings, hit me with those feels and leave me all up in my emotions. This is the second book of this couple's story, so you need to read The Billionaire's Auction before you read this book. Also, there is another cliffy looming, so try to be prepared for that. As for me, I can't wait to see how things wrap up in the final book. I am electing to post an unbiased review.

This is book two and the continuation of Ace and Harlow's story. Harlow has left Ace behind with the help from a friend, and Ace is determined to do anything, to find her in order to protect her and keep her safe. When Ace and Harlow are reunited, will they get their chance to work on and develop their relationship or will other complications get in the way? I can’t wait to read what happens next!

I received this book as an ARC but all opinions are my own.
This book was amazing! For the second book in a trilogy it didn't have a lot of the obvious tension build up. Most of this book is actually spent with Harlow and Ace getting to know each other again and building trust. The cliffhanger at the end has me on edge waiting for the next book.
This book was amazing! For the second book in a trilogy it didn't have a lot of the obvious tension build up. Most of this book is actually spent with Harlow and Ace getting to know each other again and building trust. The cliffhanger at the end has me on edge waiting for the next book.

The second book in this series. You have to read The Billionaire's Auction first.
A fantastic sequel of Harlow's and Ace's story. Great written like the first book.
You dive immediately back where book 1 ended.
I didn't want to stop reading and just wanna know what happens next.
And I have to say: I wanna have an Ace for myself too 😄

The Billionaire’s Possession: A Dark Billionaire Romance (The Ruthless Billionaire Trilogy Book 2) By Bri Blackwood. The Ruthless Billionaire trilogy is no disappointment Harlow and Ace are reconnected. It’s a page turner and yes I await anxiously for the next book . I recommend this Trilogy Loved it!

Well these two have come along ways,they started talking to each other and trusting each other. They still have along ways. because people are still out there to harm then and they aren't afraid on how they do it.This can be hot and steamy at times.Great read! Ace and Harlow are a fit.
