in this series I have to say Finn was close to beating Stone!! So close I think it was rh nickname slugger (it was cute why he called her that) but it reminded me of a parent calling a kid that. Beside that on with the story!!
Anissa was at the wrong place with the wrong person when Finn shows up and kills her Mother.. yeah I was like dang he was also going to kill her but seeing her he changed his mind he also didn’t like anyone touching what is his.
Anissa is scared, angry and confused why her mother was killed and why Finn is taking her prisoner. She does try to fight back she does punch him but that turn on Fin even more. The chemistry is so hot between them and the spice!!! MILA GAVE ME PRIMAL PLAY, SOMNOPHILIA!!!! Lordddd those scenes I was like take me daddy🔥🔥🔥🔥.
But there was some miscommunication and that lead to a kill and a chase and later on him informing Anissa the type of person her mother is. It’s a tough pill to swallow and a heartbreaking story.. my heart hurts for Finn and understand in this series whey he never wanted to be touched.
Low angst, no now/om drama, No cheating, drama, slight secondary chars, sexy times, both virgins (even if Finn wasn’t tech one he was SA so he is still a V)

When the heroine gets caught in an ambush that kills her mother, she never expects her life to be spared. But it is, by the man who has every right to hate her.. The hero has finally gotten revenge on the woman responsible for all his scars. He, however, doesn't expect to be attracted to her child..
Thus begins the forbidden tale of lust and love. There is graphic trauma detailed in the past, but ends up in a hea.
I've been swinging and missing with several books now so I decided to pick up a short and smutty story and this did NOT disappoint. It was dirty...filthy...and I was totally into it.
Anissa finds herself in the crossfire when Finn comes to get his revenge against her disgusting mother. Instead of killing Anissa, Finn takes her for himself.
This was an instalove kind of book with a slight push/pull between the MCs. They play a game of cat and mouse and it was hot. Like really hot. We get a little somnophilia, primal play (gimme gimme), praise kink (o yes and it was delicious), degradation (in the best way), some blood and knife play, and dub-con and CNC scenes. It's so filthy and unrealistic but I expect that from these types of books.
There is heavier material in this story (violence and past sexual assault) which I didn't love because I think material like this deserves a bigger word count but you'll just have to go into this knowing this book is high heat with dangerous and delicious men who lack a moral compass unless you're their woman. Don't expect anything ground breakingly epic or thought provoking. If you're looking for something sweet with depth this isn't that book. Go back to your TBR list.
The best part about this book was the dirty talk and somnophilia. Otherwise, the flow of the story was disjointed. The connection between the couple didn’t feel authentic, didn’t grow from any building attraction, particularly Finn give his history of abuse. They just liked each other. Also, I had no idea of the age of the heroine who was initially presented as a child hiding behind a desk from people murdering her mother. Only tidbits about their physical traits until I learn she’s full figured. I can only assume an age gap between the heroine and hero. Finn was described as not very talkative and unhinged, which I guess to anyone other than Anissa he was. He was not forceful as I would expect someone with his behavior and in position to be and evolve to being tender. Instead he was depicted as patient and kind to Anissa. I understand he was enthralled with her, but somehow the story didnt develop in a way to lend credence to his softness with her rather than the stone cold killer with a history of abuse he was portrayed as. And Anissa was bratty in an annoying way. Someone kidnaps you that just massacred your mother, and you mouth off to him? Not to mention the belief that she may have been a child.
Overall enjoy the book for its spice, but the story itself just needed more development and transition that being a novella may have detracted from.
I had the opportunity to ARC read this book and I fell absolutely in love with Finn. The unlocked Desire Series has yet to leave me down with its twists and turns within its characters. Honestly, I think Finn has become my favorite (poor Ciaran, since he was my boo).
This fast pace love was probably the most normal of the romances in the series between the sweet love of Finn and Anissa. But don't let it fool you because the spicy scenes make up for the lack of extreme dark romance that you found in "Capture me" or "Just Breathe".
Honestly, if you loved the other books in the Unlocked Desire Series, this will make you fall in love with Finn more so than you ever thought you could potentially with his quiet disposition in the previous books
This is what I’d called horror smut… heavy on the violence and smut, but light on the plot with pretty much no relationship development. It’s very short and gets right down to business with the revenge/killing her mother part. It’s OTT with chopping off hands and dismembering foes with axes, but it just progressed a little too quickly for me.
I think it would’ve worked better if the h had also been a crazy psychopath and wronged by the mother… I think that would’ve flowed better. We’re given a virgin, sheltered h that loves her mom and are supposed to believe she can switch from being horrified to horny in about 4 hours.
Bottom Line- I’m just not feeling it at the moment. I was expected a little more substance.
*Spoilers* What did I just read? I don't like to leave bad reviews, I try to look for the good in a book regardless if I liked it or not, but I can not find a single good thing to note about this. Novellas are notoriously short (this one is only around 100 pages) and fairly fast-paced, but this book's pacing is insane. To start, the way the book started made me feel like I was jumping into the middle of a book instead of the beginning. And maybe it's just me, but I expected more to happen according to the blurb.
The mmc claims to want to make the mother of the fmc suffer, but instantly kills her on page two or three. Also claims to want to make the fmc suffer, but two pages later is talking about how thinking about the fmc in pain or being killed or whatever bothers him. He even bathes her right after kidnapping her lol. (And just as a side note, they have never met or talked or anything before he shows up, kills her mom, and takes her.)
Also, the "reaction" of the fmc seeing the mutilated, dead body of her mother is...well, basically there is no reaction. She doesn't cry, or get sick, or hardly even think about the fact that this man just killed her mother afterwards. I mean, sure, it's mentioned a few times, but I'm more so talking about the lack of inner dialogue of her even remotely grieving her mother. And she claims to love her mother so much or whatever. Plus, the reaction to being kidnapped is also basically non-existent. She doesn't fight back even in the beginning (even when he tells her to undress for a bath, at which point she is only thinking how beautiful she feels standing there with him looking at her instead of, oh, I don't know, how he just killed her mom an hour ago and kidnapped her?), and she only runs after he kills a man for threatening her but she wasn't even trying to get away really. She was laughing while he was chasing her, even though seconds before this she was running because "he was a psycho and she wasn't going to stay with him".
The instant connection between the fmc and mmc is comical. Especially considering the mmc has never been into another woman because of his past and everything, but all of a sudden this girl can touch him and it doesn't bother him? There's no build up to it, it's all instant. He's instantly okay with anything involving her, he's instantly possessive and willing to kill over her, and so forth. Oh, and they apparently are in love by like the second day of her being taken by him.
The dialogue was so, I don't know, robotic? It didn't sound like actual people talking half the time. It was pretty stilted and awkward. Especially during the long paragraphs of dialogue.
And what little plot line there was was just meh. I feel like it could've turned out to be a decent one, but everything was so rushed and, frankly, even with the killing that happened, I found it pretty boring.
I could go on and name a few other things but I'm just going to leave it at this.
Our lovely list of content include but are not limited to:
-primal -praise -mention of child sexual assault -blood/ knife play (these kinda go hand and hand) -somnophilia -spitting
Maybe I was slightly confused because I decided to read book 7 first.. I think I got the gest pretty quick though.
Our boy Finn was put through some shit as a kid. Then as an adult decides to get even by killing the mfc mom, but that wasn't enough. He takes her back to his cabin in the middle of bfe (bum fuck Egypt) and proceeds to eat her out while she's sleeping. Yup, that seems to track. Not to mention the things this man says while claiming Aniessa would make a nun beg for more (fans myself down).
She's just as depraved and decides to run through the woods in nothing but his t-shirt. Obviously he catches her, takes her, then marries her.
The Unlocked Desire series was AMAZING! The O'Malley Brothers are so F*ing deranged and HOT! Mila definitely hit a homerun with Finn's story; he was my favorite!
Finn is a broken, sad soul, and VIOLENCE is the only way to fix it. He is a man of few words, and he kills people. He has never found comfort in anyone, only his brother and a few close friends, but that all changes when he kidnaps Anissa. She makes him FEEL, and that scares him.
I LOVE that the FMC is plus size, and she opens Finn's heart, but it's only for her.
The level of SPICE in this book is off the charts! Oh my goodness, get ready to change those panties! Finn is filthy, but in the sexiest way possible, I loved him!
Trust me! Read the WHOLE series!! You will not be disappointed!
This was an ok read. It wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t anything special. I liked the kinks but I feel like it was too rushed even for a novella. The idea is great but the execution not so much.
If you’re looking for something kinky, short, with not much plot and don’t have a problem with insta-love and rushed settings this is for you.
Please look up the content warnings before reading this book. This is relatively dark and quite kinky. So, be aware of that.
Absolutely loved it!! We are used to flawed characters from Ms. Crawford by now but these two are PERFECTLY flawed. There's a hint of gentle with all the crazy. And the best part.....the FMC is a curvy girl!! I love how this fact wasn't hidden but wasn't overplayed! Absolutely a chef's kiss!
Another great novella Mila Crawford Finn goes to kill the women who ruined his childhood but he doesn’t expect her daughter to be there. Instead of killing Anissa like his instinct tells him to he takes her with him. The minute he sees Anissa she stirs something in him he hasn’t felt for a long time. When Finn tells Anissa why he’s so messed up and it’s all because of her mother I really did feel for him. No Mila I didn’t cry but I did get a huge lump in my throat after knowing what he was subjected to.
Holy heck this one was 🤌 It was hot, sad, fun to read, heartbreaking, gut wrenching, made me feel all kind of things🥰 Now we finally know why Finn is like he is. My heart broke for him and for his Anissa as well. Anissa saw how her mother was killed... By Finn himself. Finn wanted to kill Bella and her daughter Anissa, but as soon as he saw Anissa everything changed for him. 😍😍 She is the first woman that touched his heart and soul. The first woman he want to be touched by. What a beautiful and kind of sad ending of this incredible story😍😍😍 And the steamy hot scenes between Anissa and Finn were off the charts hot 🥵🥵🥵🥵 Can't wait for the next series and for Maxim to find his HEA❤️❤️❤️ Hot, romantic , sad, bittersweet, safe(double virgins-heck yes 👍👍) and dark with a sweet HEA🥰🥰
Oh Finn 🥺 this story brought tears to my eyes. two broken souls moulded together into a beautiful love story. This pulled on my heart strings but the spicy scenes also had me like a bitch in heat… his dirty talk was incredible 🥵 I devoured this series, I didn’t want it to end. I’m going to miss these crazy, psychotic men and phenomenal, strong women 🥹
I feel like things were too rushed for me to really enjoy this one. It was too instalovey. And while I appreciated the darkness, it just didn't seem likely that the heroine would fall for someone that quickly when he did what he did right in front of her. Even if Bella was a monster and deserved that and more, she was (per the heroine) still her loving mother and they seemed close. It just didn't work for me.
It was dark and delicious. Finn is broken due to his past and comes back to take revenge who wronged him. Anissa happens to be the daughter of the person who has assaulted him. He couldn't kill her so he took her as a captive.
Finn was filthy, a dirty talker and obsessed with Anissa. There is somnophilia, CNC and primal kinks.
More of book to enjoy for the spice and not the plot since it felt too rushed and just disconnected. Didn’t feel a connection with the couple and I wasn’t a big fan of the pet name slugger either but man the dirty talk and somnophilia bits were delicious.
Finns story was my most anticipated one of this series and I can honestly say Mila did not disappoint. This one is super dark and heavy on the triggers, so please head those. I personally love insta-love romances, especially as palette cleansers from larger novels, and Mila does them so perfect. The right amount of darkness/plot/smut is perfect in these short stories and I always seem to develop a new kink once I’m done with her books. I’m so excited for the next story and to see where this series can go because Mila continues to top herself.
5/5⭐️ 3.5/5🌶 - I never give novellas more than 4 on the spice scale because the length of them. But be warned this is top tier smuttiness 🥵 HEA: Obviously Cheating: Absolutely Not 18+ Heavy TW/CW
What happens when you’re obsessed when the daughter of the person who cast you into darkness? This is Finn and Anissa’s story. Finn is Ciaran’s brother (introduced in Just Breathe). Finn is two people- unfeeling deranged monster and the gentle soul for only one person - Anissa is the only person to make him whole again and accepts his darkness.
So we open with Anissa (who we learn pretty early on is a virgin) who is freaking out because there are people in her house and her mum as a gun out telling her to hide. This book is 135 pages, so we don't have time to dilly daddle
She hides under a desk, hears the door fly open, a "squelching" noise, then someone is ripping her out from under the desk
Here we meet Finn. He's the one who's just cut her mother up, but for some reason, her mother didn't make a single peep, lol
I'd be screaming my fucking head off if someone started chopping me to pieces but whatever
Finn tells the reader that she is what I can only assume is a child sex trafficker? And he was her victim as a child. But Anissa doesn't know that. She just assumes this crackhead chopped up dear old mama for nothing. Talk about a meet cute!!
Anyway, he drives her to his cabin, where his brother and sister in law meets up with him. They see he has a fucking kidnap victim and just lol's
We learn that finn hates women and doesn't want to talk to them OR have sex with them. Hard limit.
His brother and SIL start brawling on the lawn and then basically start fucking while these two go inside.
Lol....so normal
Finn takes her to the bathroom and orders her to strip so he can wash her. WHY?
SHE DOES they are both super turned on, but then he walks her to the bedroom, gives her a shirt, and then locks the door as he leaves her to it.
Chill kidnapping, I say
He goes to his room and see her panties on the floor still....proceeds to pick them up and sniff them (WHAT), starts fiddlin with the diddle, THEN PROCEEDS TO LICK THE UNDERWEAR
WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
after "ropes of cum cover his hand" he decides he wants to see her in the flesh. In my mind it's been 5 minutes but apparently it's been a while because when he gets in there she's fast asleep. Naked. Obviously.
So he decides to just watch her for a bit then gets down in a crouch to look at her "smooth hairless pussy" he then proceeds to reach out and TOUCH her "puffy pussy lips"
Oh I forgot to mention this bitch is a chonker apparently but he likes that....all the gym bros do....my bestie knows what I mean, she personally witnessed my fat ass pull all the gym boys hahahaha
So now....he decides to "pull her lips apart and sniff her cunt". I wanted to die at this point, but he keeps going. He then just proceeds to eat her out while she stays snoozing.
While that's going on he's still choking his chicken, and when he's close, he stands up and just sprays all over her lady garden.
Classy
Next morning, Anissa wakes up being all like...ooooh I had a sex dream about my kidnapper...naughty.
She touches herself and realises she wetter than she should be, so her first instinct is to scoop some up and put it in her mouth to figure out what it could possibly be.
Yeah ok....look.....don't do that guys.
She realised she wasn't dreaming and goes downstairs to yell at him, conveniently forgetting she's naked.
He immediately notices ( you always notice a naked chonk) and pins her up against a wall and her willpower leaves like smoke on the wind. Get. A. Backbone.
He proceeds to *ravage* her with his horse cock, fills her to the tippy top with jizzim, then makes her squat over a plate while she, er...empties it out
This man hasn't had sex with a woman in 17 years but he's suddenly domming it up like a pro.
Anyway she licks the plate clean and then he notices blood on the floor, then asks what it is. Anissa explains its her first time and he LOSES IT then leaves
BRAH you chopped her mother to bits YESTERDAY, now your worried you were to rough for her first time?!?!
Priorities my man.
About three hours later a man rocks up looking for Finn but sees Anissa still pretty much naked and he's like...well I'll take a bit of that thanks.
She manages to get away from him only to run into Finn at the front door where he promptly shoots him for touching his property
Uhhhhhh
Anissa takes this opportunity to make a break for it but she forgets she's fat, so she doesn't get far.
Finn unsurprisingly catches up, and she's half heartily trying to get away. The next part of the book was the only part that made me sit up straight.
He tells her she can go back to the house or she can run, but if she catches up to her he can do whatever he wants, in a moment of astounding clarity, she makes a break for it.
He catches her immediately much to my delight and proceeds to fuck her senseless.
BUT
Then he ruins it by telling her he loves her and can't live without her
THEY MET YESTERDAY
she's like, same....but you need to tell me WHY YOU MURDERED MY MUM YESTERDAY
he's like...bet.
So he tells her a tale of child abuse
Sexy
Anyway, they end up getting married, then he uses cooking oil to lube himself up while she fists herself, and he plunders her booty
These people have no chill

okay i’m pretty sure i read this on wattpad a long time ago 😭 i was like no wonder it wasn’t good. The way she looses her virginity sucked and apparently she has no mind of her own and after the hero told her he’d take better care of her he forces her to have sex with him. like i’m down for dub con when it’s at least some what romantic but this guy was just stupid 😭 ✋ no after care either, after shoving his penis inside her he don’t take care of her after and leaves her in a random house and some weird guy pulls up saying he’s gonna cutt her hands off. the book was messy and it seemed like the author wanted to get it over with, rushed and sloppy. this all took place in the span of like 3 pages… the writing isn’t good. but i liked the Somnophilia, that’s what saved this god awful book 🤣 not romantic at all
virgin heroine slow insta kidnapping hero murders heroines mother hero raped by heroines mother in childhood disappointed dnf (cuz i already read this shit on wattpad i swear 😭 ✋) disappointing hero asshole hero annoying heroine disappointing heroine angst annoying side characters bad writing no protection Somnophilia primal play spanking not romantic push/pull from both no ow/om drama drama rushed badly waste of time spicy lvl 3.5/5 could’ve been a 4 but it just wasn’t romantic and a let down…
First of all, thank you to Mila Crawford for sending me this ARC.. I absolutely love your novellas on these gorgeous men!!
Ok now for the review. Personally, this book was by the best I’ve read in the series so far. I’ve been waiting for Finn’s story and Ms. Crawford DID NOT disappoint!! 5 stars across the board.
When it comes to dark romance, check you trigger warnings. I personally do not have any triggers so this story was in no way triggering. But this story deals with subject matter such as past CSA, violence and violent depictions, somnophilia, and degradation.
This is Finn’s story. The brother who’s had something so traumatic happen to him that he doesn’t speak in previous books where he’s mentioned. But he encounters Anissa Lombardi who becomes his light and makes him open up.
Their chemistry together is insanely beautiful and hot. Finn’s story is tragic and traumatizing but the way he begins to feel for Anissa is so wonderful to read.
Their sexual encounters were ON FIRE!! The things they say and do to each other is just so so good. Loved everything about this book!!!
These books in this series keep getting darker and kinkier!!
Blurred Lines is Finns story in the Unlocked Desire series. Make sure to read the trigger warning!!
Finn is Ciarans brother that we first met in Just Breathe. Finn is a deranged psychopath that only has a soft side for Anissa. He was going to make her suffer, but seeing fear in her eyes makes him feel something he can't put into words.
Anissa just watched someone she loves get killed and now she is stuck with a man that has 2 sides like Jekyal and Hyde, and doesn't know what he wants to do with her. But she can't deny that the way he looks at her like she is a goddess and the way he takes care of her makes her feel something for him.
Is it bad that I kinda love that Finn got his revenge on the woman who hurt him in an extremely bloody way? He might be a little crazy, but i love him! I adore how Anissa is able to touch and comfort him and help him. Blurred Lines is the perfect mixture of a plot that keeps you hooked, top tier smut with some darkness on top. I adore Milas novellas and I can't wait for more!!!
I don't know how to say goodbye to this series. Especially when the author saved the coldest for last. While Finn might not be as openly violent as some of the other men, he is the most closed off. He has a very good reason for it and that is indirectly how he meets Anissa. Anissa has been sheltered and when Finn bursts into her life, she is scared and rightfully so. He is ruthless and intimidating, yet he doesn't hurt her, not really. The connection between these two is so jagged and sharp, it could slice them both to the bone. This brought out a rollercoaster of emotions in me. I know that we will see glimpses of these characters in the future, in another series. However, that a bit of cold comfort. This is a visceral series, it grabs you by the throat and roars in your face. This author pushed herself, put everything out there on the page and didn't hold back. Her writing made me fall in love with each of these broken men for who they are and the women they love. To me, that is the truest mark of an author's talent, 10 stars for Finn and Anissa!
