My name is Mags McAllister, and I really need to stop being surprised when new ghosts show up at my door. Thanks to my special spectral feline Shadow, I have a largely unwanted link to the spirit realm—and word is starting to spread that I’m a good person to haunt for those who wish to button up their unfinished business. This time, my new ghost has a voice of her own, and she is definitely not afraid to use it—to make demands, complain, and even to criticize my choice of clothing. Frankly, I’m eager to help her just, so that I can be rid of this 1950s era loudmouth. Once she’s taken care of, maybe I can finally start getting my own life in order… and finally choose between the two men who each hold a piece of my fractured heart.
Molly Fitz is the quirky, cozy mystery pen name of USA Today bestselling author, Melissa Storm. And while she can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks in the Casa de Fitz.
Molly lives in a house on a high hill in the Michigan woods and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.
Well now. That took a turn I didn’t exactly see coming. I had a feeling I knew who Mags newest haunting would turn out to be, but certainly not all the answers she would bring with her. I love that we finally have an ending to all the wickedness that has befallen Mags and her family. And I have to say that the answer to her romantic conundrum was also not the direction I had thought it was going to go. I know we have a conclusion to what brought Shadow and Mags to us in the first place, but I hope this isn’t the last time we get to read about them. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
This is book three of The Meowing Medium series and sees Mags McAllister and her Aunt Linda about to reopen their family’s candle shop, Colonial Candles, after an ex-employee Kim tried to burn it down. A new ghost keeps turning up at the end of her bed each morning, Janice, who looks like she died in the 50’s. Apart from her first name, she refuses to answer any questions Mags may have and is far too busy haunting her relatives! William, the ghost linked to Wes the vet, and whose body is buried in the tunnels discovered under her aunt Linda’s home. William has had enough of being on this spirit realm and wants to pass over, so Mags and Wes have promised to sort it out and ensure he can pass over. Mags is getting attention on the dating front from both Wes and Don, the policeman, but is unable to choose between them just yet. Her loudmouth new ghost is certainly not who she wants to wake up to first thing in the morning, so she will need to figure out exactly who she is and what is keeping her in the spirit world. Janice makes snarky comments about everything, from her bed hair to her choice of clothes! There is also more to come from the mystery of her ancestor Maggie McAllister and who killed her, with the Hough family being responsible for a lot of deaths in her family and Kim was just the latest descendant who was still out for Mags and her family. The true identity of Janice will be the key and she can lead Mags to uncover some of the secret of the past. Mags has no knowledge of how to help a spirit pass on, only being able to see and interact with ghosts through gaining her spectral cat Shadow, who even seems real to Wes, the local vet. Shadow seems to appear and disappear at will, often turning up miles from where they were last. The re=opening of the shop is a huge success, partly due to all of Mags’ social media posts and followers, something her aunt didn’t really believe would help. Now she is a believer! Wes may know about ghosts and spirits due to William, but he can’t see or hear them, but Mags has to introduce Don to the facts and hope he won’t think she is crazy. A lot of fun as they try different methods to help William into his final journey and end up with the wrong set of bones and a prank from William. More danger for Mags as she gets a little bit too close to the secrets the Hough family want kept secret. Kim may now be in jail for her actions, but she is not the only member of her family left in town. A natural parting of the ways allows Mags to realise which man is the perfect match for her and has had her back throughout all that happens. Another perfect little tale of ghosts and their haunting ways, along with the secrets and unfinished business that keep them tied to this world. It would be best if the books are read in order, so you know the background of the candle shop, Wes and William, as well as Don, but not necessary if you are okay to jump into the middle of a storyline. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
This is another fun ghostly goings on by this author. This is book three in the series and the way everything got wrapped up and explained I think it might be the last one. I think it did help having read the previous books so you know the back story between the characters, although the author does give you a small reminder of what has transpired before hand. The story did start out slow and you are left wondering what the ghost actually wants but once Mags starts trying to help the ghost it soon picks up. There is no real mystery, although there is plenty of bones, and is more a case of trying to help the ghost move on through breaking and entering, digging up bones and generally getting into trouble. The characters are likeable, even the demanding ghost and the trickster ghosts are fun. Mags is woken up by a ghost standing over her as she sleeps. With her candle shop close to being reopen the last thing she needs is another ghost demanding her time. When a ghost seeks out Mags, she drops everything to help but the first job she has is to find his bones. When her first attempt doesn't work, she wonders what the connection between the two ghost is and with her own history. Can she help the ghosts in her life? Or does she need there help more? PLEAS of THE POLTERGEIST by Molly Fitz and L.A. Boruff is a fast read and the third installment in The Meowing Medium series. The two authors have done a great job creating this fun and entertaining mystery series. You will be drawn in from the beginning and hooked until the end.
Mags McAllister and her aunt Linda have just reopened the family candle store following a devestating arson fire. Mags is still dealing with ghosts linked to her family. William is mow ready to move on but he doesn't know how, and a loud- mouthed ghost is appearing minutes before her alarm every morning. Janice appears every morning criticizing Mags about one thing or another, and has no idea why she's at Mag's house. She also has no plans to move on. But she does drop some information about herself, she's from the 1950s and her son and grandaughter are evil, not that she's a saint.
Mags also has personal problems of her own - the veterinarian Wes or Deputy Don.

I didn't want to see this book end because it meant the end of the series.
Such a great series for cozy mystery lovers. I do recommend that you read the first two books in the series before sitting down to read Pleas of the Poltergeist. It will be hard to understand if you don't read them.
The writing was flawless, and I really enjoyed the book. So much happening with yet another ghost appearing to Mags but this time she only gives her first name and no more information. This ghost died in the 50's, Mags guesses, from the way she is dressed. But eventually everything comes together, and all is revealed. I kind of knew what was going to happen to an extent but there were surprises along the way. Everything was pulled together and wrapped up by the end of the book although it felt rushed because the book was less than 200 pages. With that said it was still a great read and refreshing to me. Something that I could delve into and not have to think a lot about it. Just enjoy the story and series. I was sad to see it end.
Highly recommend this series but please remember you should read all the books in the series to understand what is going on.
Mags McAllister has a cat named Shadow who can see ghosts when they bring mysteries surrounding their death for Mags to solve, and some mysteries are quite old. So ghosts arriving at her doorstep are getting to be quite common as her reputation spreads.
The ghost that showed up this time is pretty annoying. She is one of those chronic complainers who also thinks nothing of criticizing Mags’ clothes and making unreasonable demands. In this book, we will be tying up loose ends and getting some answers, so you won’t want to miss it. And if you have a bet going on between the Veterinarian Wes and the Police Officer Don and which one gets the girl, you may want to pay careful attention. You may be a winner!
This is a fun series that keeps your attention and has you cheering for the characters. Grab your copy and get some of those answers we have been hoping for.
PLEAS OF THE POLTERGEIST is the third book in the Meowing Medium series. These will be best understood if read in the order of release.
First things first – I want to visit Colonial Candles and just smell all the wonderful scents and maybe get to watch some candles being dipped.
Second, there was just the right amount of tension – spectral and earthly – to this cozy mystery. The story kept me glued to my kindle far into the night. Who needs sleep when there is a great story to be read?
Last, I agree with the choice of men at the end of the book. When the right man has your back, you know it.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via BookSprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: PLEAS OF THE POLTERGEIST Series: Meowing Medium #3 Category /Genre: Paranormal Cozy Mystery Recommended for: 14+ Grammar/editing: received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Melissa Storm
Pleas of the Poltergeist is the third and possibly last book in this series. As the books follow on immediately from the previous one I recommend that these books are read in order.
Mags and her Aunt Linda own and run a candle shop. They are also seeing ghosts. If that’s not enough they are also the victims of a centuries old feud.
With the help of Shadow the cat, who appears and disappears, Don the local policeman and Wes the vet, Mags has to find a way for these ghosts to find peace, however there is now one more ghost, not less. The story is good and the characters great but it does seem like a farce at times.
The end does nicely conclude this trilogy. Whether or not we see Mags in future books is uncertain.
I did enjoy this book, and series, and recommend it to all fans of this genre and to anyone who likes a nice, easy read.
Mags McAllister owns and runs a candle shop with her aunt. She also sees ghosts thanks in part to her cat, Shadow. This time a new ghost shows up whose unfinished business has ties to Mags' family.
I've really enjoyed this series and this book's no exception. The book's well-written with wonderful characters and a fabulous storyline that wraps things up yet leaves room for more. This quick, fun read kept me captivated from start to finish and the mystery was fun to solve. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my honest, unbiased, and voluntary review. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order for the most enjoyment and benefit.
Mags is back again in the third, and possibly last, book in the Meowing Medium series. With the grand re-opening of Colonial Candles after the fire, Mags wakes up to find a new ghost standing at the foot of her bed. That’s all she needs! With William still hanging around wanting her to help him cross over and the new ghost who doesn’t know why she’s there, Mags has her hands full. With help from the vet Wes and the police officer Don, can she find a way to help them and get her life back? With some very colorful characters and some very quirky ghosts, I really enjoyed reading this book. I wasn’t expecting the ending, but it neatly tied up some things that had been hanging. I’m going to miss Mags and her cat Shadow but I’m looking forward to seeing what’s coming next!
I really love this series. It has the feel of a mystery/suspense novel and keeps me guessing as to what will happen next. Mags does a great job this time around with a new ghost that's haunting her, and this one isn't immediately forthcoming about how she's connected to Mags's family. This continues from the previous stories about another family that has been after Mags's family for generations. A lot of the "why" is answered in this book and it turns out to be quite a good wrap up from all the past stories in this series. I've enjoyed every book so far and I really hope this isn't the end! I definitely recommend this book.

So I did that thing where you start a series, but not in the first book. The blurb sucked me in, and so I just jumped right in. I do not regret the choice, it can easily be read as a standalone, as the necessary background is covered in the story, and if there a few blanks remaining, it is easy to fill them in yourself. Well written and fast paced, I was hooked by this story. I still would like to know more about Shadow, but that's just my curiosity speaking. This is somewhere berween a cozy mystery and PNR, good fun. I loved the witty, snarky side to it, and the romance helped too. Good stuff.
Mags has a new alarm clock - a 1950’s ghost named Janice, who wakes her up every morning! Mags already has her hands full with the opening of the candle shop, but Janice is annoyingly persistent. I really enjoy Mags, as she is funny and tries her best to help the ghosts that come to her for help. But Mags and Shadow have a tough time with Janice, as she brings in another, older ghost who can’t seem to cross over. But William has a host of issues connected to him. An interesting read. I received a free copy of this book from the author through BookSprout, and write this review voluntarily.
For those who have reading this series from the beginning, rest assured (no pun intended) this book answers the lingering questions about Mags, Shadow, the ghosts, mysteries, and murders. It also brings a satisfactory conclusion to Mags personal conundrum concerning the two men in her life. Before that, though, there is another ghost asking (more like demanding) Mags' help. Will her life ever be 'normal' again? Another fun and entertaining story.

The ghost this time arrives every morning waking Mags up with her squeaky voice that is most annoying. She is not really the one needing help but is an advocate for another person who can't "pass over". Mags has her hands full solving this mystery because her first attempt doesn't help but brings another ghost to light. "Really, now I have to ghosts at the same time to help?" Yes, that's right. There is a happy ending, thank goodness.

It seems when Mags McAllister helps one ghost to cross over, another one appears so she isn’t surprised when she wakes up to a new ghost standing at the foot of her bed grumbling at the noise of the alarm going off. As she is trying to help William, it turns out both ghosts are somehow part of the same murder plot. Mags also needs to find which of the two men she is really interested in. Is it Don, the police officer, or Wes, the Vet? You just might find out at the end of this story which means more to her.

Pleas of the Poltergeist is an intriguing, convoluted, cozy mystery. The newest ghost takes the place of Mags' alarm clock - waking Mags to the ghost's daily complaints and unpleasant voice. This well written tale wraps up many issues. It took turns I never saw coming. I loved that the candle shop is reopening. Figuring everything out will keep Mags and Linda in danger and skirting the law. OF course, the authors bring everything to a most satisfying conclusion! I lost a couple of hours sleep because I just had to finish once I started reading.
Pleas of the Poltergeist by Molly Fitz is book 3 of The Meowing Medium Series. The ghosts just keep showing up. Mags has to help them cross over or else she will be haunted by them forever. She goes out of her way to do everything for them that she can. Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending in this cute cozy. I really enjoyed this series and hope this wasn’t the last one. I could keep reading about Mags and Shadow forever! I received a free copy of this ebook from BookSprouts.
Mags is back in book three and the final book in The Meowing Medium series. From the quirky characters to the fabulous storyline I absolutely loved this whole series. The writing is well done, and the story is packed with ghosts with interesting mysteries to be solved. This is a fun and entertaining series that held my attention from the first book to the final book. I look forward to reading the next great series by this amazing author duo. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
William is still there and would like to start his afterlife. No one has seen Maggie since she disappeared. Now another ghost has appeared, her name is Janice. This story is not as crazy as the first two. With someone trying to kill Maggie and her Aunt Linda. There is still danger and trying to find out were Janice comes into what is going on. Very good story I enjoyed it very much. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Mags thinks Maggie had passed on and she just needs to help William pass on but it's not so. With the help of Don and Wes and three ghosts, Mags solves several murders passing the information onto authorities so the living ones can be punished. This finally allows Maggie, William and Janice to pass on. History comes back to bite the guilty finally.
I really enjoy these stories and just love Mags and Shadow. In this we meet a new ghost from the 1950’s who just loves to complain and loudly so Mags needs to get rid of her quick style but as per usual something goes wrong and up pops another ghost with a whole host of problems of his own!! It’s a fun read filled with mystery and suspense, it’s entertaining and all loose ends are tied up though I wouldn’t object to a few more enjoyable stories!
All of the characters set in this world are awesome. I love the fact that Angie Russo is cousins with Mags McAllister. Mags and her Aunt Linda run a candle shop in the colonial section of Larkhaven. They are about to have Grand re-opening for the store. They have gone through so much in the previous two books, which you just gotta read first. Believe me they are worth reading!
A new ghost shows up, Janice. Poor Mags, lol. People who follow Mags from the shop’s online following show up, which is way cool. I love watching people use the old ways to make candles (Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg in VA). Mags has two men interested in her, British veterinarian Dr. Wes, and hot cop Don. I’m team cop btw. There are a lot of reveals in this book, and the cat, Shadow is soooo cool. Even Aunt Linda has a love interest.

The third book of this trilogy is a lot more focused on the love situation of the main character than the overall mystery. Don't get me wrong, we get the answers, but as a second thought with an ending that is rushed and not satisfactory and with an epilogue that is more of a list of things to be marked as done than a real explanation.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mags and Shadow have a new ghost - a bossy lady from the 1950s. The wrong relative was jailed for the murder. Mags lets cop Don and veterinarian Wes into her life more and trusts Don with her secret so he can help find clues and more. Loved the entertaining interactions, banter and fun characters. Totally enjoyable.

4-1/2 stars. Mags, her Aunt Linda & Shadow the spectral cat are working hard to reopen the candle shop. But Mags now has an obnoxious, secretive new ghost haunting her. More bones, missing papers & evil relatives are all part of the puzzle. Will miss these characters, but this was a satisfying conclusion to the series.

William is ready to rest so Mags enlists Wes to help her. Things get weirder for Mags when the ghost of Janice begins turning up every morning. Don is finally brought into the ghost loop and Aunt Linda has found a beau. This story is full of fun and romance, with some scary moments tossed into the mix, ending with a closed case and romantic possibilities. Very highly recommended.
I received a copy of this book in a box set via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
this was another purfect entry in the Meowing Medium series, it had what I enjoyed from the previous two books. The characters were great and the mystery was what I wanted in this type of book. I can't wait to read more in this series.
