This book was a struggle for me to get through…
I was constantly frustrated at the vague world development and random mention of locations - I had to constantly look at the map for any sort of orientation. Every once in a while a specific location was very throughly described and it left me wishing everywhere was described to the same standard.
For me personally I HATED how easily and quickly Amarie flip flopped between the two men. Talon seems like a scumlord swooping in to travel with Amarje (while maybe it was out of respect of Kin to keep her safe?). Amarie seems super immature through her whole “love triangle” conflicting emotions honestly made me strongly dislike her as a character through this whole book.
All the conflicts/ fights seemed rushed and lacked any depth, it had me left hanging unable to fully grasp how fights were always so short lived and bare bones. One of the most powerful Shade gets captured and has little to no fight in 2 paragraphs? No thanks

Blood of the Key is a superb work of fantasy fiction, adventure and intrigue which was penned by author duo Amanda Muratoff and Kayla Mansur. Forming the second novel of the Berylian Key Trilogy (also part of the Pantracia Chronciles), this fully cinematic and atmospheric story picks up where Embrace of the Shade left off. We continue the tumultuous relationship of Kin and Amarie, even as Amarie flees from the Shade, yet still desires to know more about him. She connects with Talon, an enigmatic auer, who can give her the answers she seeks. Meanwhile, Kin struggles between his duties to those who afforded him power, and his desire to pursue Amarie further.
Powerful and enriching from the opening scenes right through to the end, fans of fantasy, epic worlds and paranormal romances will find all that they seek in the works of author duo Amanda Muratoff and Kayla Mansur. The novel attacks its readers with a double-fronted sense of sheer quality: coming from both the stellar worldbuilding of the fantasy realms, their lores and practices, but also from the central relationship and character development of Kin and Amarie. Neither loses face to the other as this becomes a story of both relationships and the wider world, where secrets of origin have been uncovered, and the fallout and further discoveries fuel a fantastic plotline with plenty of action and thrills. Overall, Blood of the Key overcomes the curse of the second novel to produce a highly recommended, high quality fantasy read for adult fans.

(Warning, possible spoilers for book 1) Book 2 in the Pantracia Chronicles is just as great as book 1! I’m seriously loving this series! Amarie and Talon and Kin face a bunch more challenges and the suspense of what was going to happen really kept me reading. I’m still not entirely sure what I think of Talon, or him and Amarie together, although he did grow on me by the end of this book. I still prefer Kin though. I guess I’ll just have to read book 3 to find out what happens. I love the writing and the world this is set in and with it being such a long series I’m really looking forward to learning lots more about it! I really hope Kin and free himself from his master somehow and maybe they can all get a happy ending somehow. Fingers crossed! Especially after that cliffhanger at the end. I did kind of see it coming, but still… I hope it works out.

Amanda and Kayla have done it again! Another amazing book that kept me up all night, never wanting it to end.
This book absolutely amazing! I got hooked to it just as quick as book 1. Amarie, Talon, and Kin are absolutely amazing characters, I will love them forever. (I can't figure out if I prefer Talon or Kin more 😭 )
I love the way these stories are written and the world that this is set in. I’m SO looking forward to reading the remaining 11 books! I really hope Kin will be able to free himself in the next book and we can get some kind of happy ending for him. I find his story so far heartbreaking. Give Kin a BREAK!
ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER?! Had me screaming at my kindle in the middle of the night.
If you love fantasy books packed full of romance, original magic, mythical creatures, and characters you'll fall in love with immediately, read this series! I can't wait to start on book 3!

This book is recommended for 18+ as there is an explicit sex scene.
How many different emotions can you cram into one story? Amarie goes through the ringer in this installment. So much happens to the MCs here that's it's a lot to take in. I find Kin's plot to be particularly heart breaking. What I find especially wonderful is that the editing is so good I never had my attention taken from the plot by continuity or grammar errors. It may sound like a little thing, however it is becoming more important to me the more I read. When good authors and good editing come together, you get magic like the Pantracia Chronicles.

In this second book of the Berylian Key Trilogy, both Amarie and Kin have choices that need to be addressed. These choices lead to decisions that can and do impact each other and their individual lives. I enjoyed the story. This action, adventure tale included danger, twists and turns, and some romance. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I recommend this series to others who enjoy this genre. Amanda Muratoff's narration was excellent. She helped to create the characters and by her oration, she gave the characters their own voice. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Have you ever heard of the expression 'drinking it all in'? Well that's what this book did for me. From the moment that I read the first word, to the very last page, I was UNABLE to put this book down, because I was drinking it all in.
The journey continues as we follow our protagonists through this fantasy world full of mystery and darkness. This book has something for everyone, love, fighting, tests of courage, friendships, and so much more!
The authors have done a fantastic job of weaving fantasy with real problems, plus very human and believable characters. Can't wait for book 3!

So much to write about with the second book of the series - Kin and Amarie’s story evolves in such an amazing way and it’s hard to not love these characters. Kin, the trouble soul that he is, shows an incredible strength of character.
I’ve noticed a few interesting Easter eggs that I’ll be keeping an eye on. I have a feeling they have a greater meaning. This kind of writing has a way of always keeping you keen to explore more of the world.

A great second entry into the Berylian Key trilogy and the larger franchise. Continues with the world-building and gives some interesting insights into the characters and their motivations. I enjoyed the interactions between the three MCs. Well-written and engaging. I'm looking forward to reading further into the series.

I really enjoyed this book, the authors do a wonderful job of capturing very complex human emotion. The pick up from the first book is seamless. The world is richly built, and interesting. But the highlight of this book is truly the characters interactions, growth and emotional moments. A great read, highly recommend!

While it's good, the story is slow in my opinion. I would stop every few pages and when I was in the mood pick it back up. Don't get me wrong, I really like the story, characters, and plot. But everything moved so slowly in my opinion

The action and romance continues in this second book in the trilogy, and new characters introduced add to the mystery, action, and intrigue. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the third.

The second book in the series was as enjoyable to read as the first one.
The story continued in a very exciting, fascinating way and again I could feel with the characters what they were going through. I haven't read a book in a while that grabbed my attention so much that I just couldn't stop reading. I look very much forward to reading the third book once it is released. I can't wait to know how the story continues!

Amazing!! The development we see in the three main characters and the slow burning Flame of hinted romance and love triangle is in perfect balance!! I'm so glad she gets to experience both kinds of love and how well put together the series of events is to always keep us guessing and wanting more! The teamwork of the authors is absolutely special!

So much happens in book two it is hard to put down. You keep wondering what could possibly happen next and what the outcome will be. Looking forward to reading the next book.
