This was a good debut I do wish we had Auston POV. Because I really wanted his side alot during the story.

Victoria is a hard working teacher who had some rough times in her life but with 2 best friends by her side she build up her Confidence which I love. We got to see these 3 and their friendship which I loved we hardly get more friendship in stories. They are informed they are getting a new principal and they met him already their first meeting at school is alil tense. Few words were said that has Victoria frustrated at Auston the more they meet inside and outside of school has them butting heads to kissing. Things change between them their relationship is a slowish burn because of Victoria anxiety but I'm so happy Auston went after what he wanted he showed Victoria he was all in and listened to her about her past and the bullying she went though. We also saw her bully trying to tearing her down years later.. and was so happy she stood up for herself.

These two were just so good for one another and the spice was yummy to 🥵.

I think this is the worst book I’ve ever read. No tension, lacked chemistry, cringe dialogue from all of the characters. I hated the main female character and was so embarrassed by everything about her. It took me so long to finish this book. I would read and then come to some scene that legit made me cringe and I’d have to take a break.

It was repetitive. The intimate scenes were uncomfortable and unrealistic. So many things felt so inappropriate, and not in some kind of exciting taboo way… inappropriate like “is this happening? Gross”. The best way I could describe this book is forced. Nothing was ever shown, you just learned about the characters through arbitrary side comments or thoughts from the narrator. And the narrator struggled with anxiety and body image issues. She was bullied all through high school, and oddly those same bullies are still bullying her today… she’s a 30 year old woman who’s parents died in a tragic accident and the same girl that bullied her in high school randomly shows up to try and continue to bully her throughout various scenes in the book, but mostly so we can see the narrator “stand up for herself” and “learn that she is worth it even at a whopping size 14”… and don’t you worry about what the narrator is wearing to work, to the bar, or on a date… she will describe the outfit for you in great detail every time. Because clothing is her armor against all the fat shaming she endured.

Next issue, why is everyone like oddly rooting for this 30 year old woman to have sex? Wait… 29 year old woman, kidding 28 year old woman… who has taught for like four years, no wait longer because that doesn’t add up mathematically so maybe like 6-8 years? Who cares she’s been teaching a while. And her and her friends have been friends for 10 years, wait they met when they were 15, so it’s been 15 years, but that can’t be because she’s not 30? Or wait, I mean she’s 28… whatever let’s stick with 15 years. She’s an English teacher, and math is hard. And her boyfriend is 33 or maybe 34, wait he’s 36… and that’s hot because of the age gap. Which is anywhere from 4-8 years depending on what chapter of the book you’re in.

Should I growl about how frustrating these details were? Maybe I can smirk about it and just move on…

This book is 289 pages.
50 pages of clit flicking
50 pages of outfit details
50 pages detailing her anxiety and how fat she is, yet her man can pick her up and make her orgasm against any surface!
50 pages of random classroom bullshit
89 pages of random facts about her dead parents and the pictures on her memory wall.

And as I’m reading the book that is just purely garbage made up ridiculous crinnngeee fantasy BS I wonder to myself, what am I doing here? Why am I involved in this freaking awkwardness at all? There is no place for me as a reader in this book. No place for my excitement, no laughs, no shock, no rooting for love or growth. I’m just there thinking wait… did the bartender just tell the main character he’s happy she fucked her boyfriend in the men’s bathroom at his bar and that she’s living a little finally?

Wait did her parent’s lawyer show up on her wedding day, 10 years since their death mind you… and give her a letter from her dead parents about how proud they are of her for getting married and left her a big fat check to start out in married life. What if she never got married, how would that check have worked?

And guess what… she’s one month pregnant on her wedding day and tells her new husband after they read the letter from her dead parents together…
Pregnant you say, because of all the sex, duh.

Hot for The Principal is a teacher/principal, steamy romance that follows a beautiful curvy heroine and a swoony GQ hero.
this is also the author's debut novel which in itself is a proud moment because I've been a follower of Alexandria, over on bookstagram for years! :)

very enjoyable read that was really easy to get into. the story started with some enemies tension between our mc's that quickly turned steamyyy and hot...and kept turning sexier
i really adored the female friendships, and thought it was an incredibly special bond with ladies that highly support each other in whatever scenario.
i also appreciated the mental health representation as i felt that it made me connect to Victoria on a deeper level

keep in mind that what i say next is totally a "me thing" regarding what i didn't fully connect with, and that is the sex. i'm no prude to intimacy but i just felt that it was a bit overdone and too much where we could've had more intimate scenes - communication wise.

still ended up being a lovely story that i very much enjoyed :)

This was such a fun (yet emotionally provoking) read! I enjoyed each of the main characters individually, their personalities, and the relationship that the two of them shared while overcoming struggles from their pasts.

This was quick read and the romance was filled with steam! The chemistry between the two main characters was dynamic and had you rooting for them from the beginning of the book.

This was quite the emotional read as well but I will say...THAT epilogue! It had me feeling all of the feels and hit me right in the core.

This was an excellent debut and I'll definitely be checking out more of this author's works in the future!

Hot for the principal is a debut novel from a great bookstagrammer.
I loved the characters and how she depicted them in all their situations , as enemies, as friends, as lovers.
I loved the heartbreaking moments where there are touched a few hard topic and somehow still taboo or passed over unfortunately as mental health especially at a younger age.
The steam is high on the page and when I say high I mean HIGH, pure fire.

Lovely romance overall and I’m looking forward to read more in the future.

I could say so much about this book because it’s been such a long time coming! I have been listening to Alexandria’s ideas for Auston & Victoria for what seems like forever and now to see them come to life is so surreal. It’s honestly hard to believe this is Alexandria’s debut novel – It’s that good! After Beta reading Hot for the Principal, I knew this novel was going to be a success and now having come full circle and reading through all the edits and changes it’s even more powerful reading it over. Alexandria, I could not be prouder of you! You’ve created a beautiful, inspiring, sexy, and captivating read that is sure to stay in your readers hearts for years to come.

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆:
Hot for the Principal follows Auston & Victoria. Victoria winds up back in her country hometown as a high school English teacher, it’s safe to say her life has not gone in the direction she was hoping. The two things holding her together are her two besties Hannah & Emma, but fate thought she needed one more thing… que sexy, mysterious stranger with green eyes, a bearded jawline and sexy as hell three-piece suit who leaves Victoria a quivering mess who can’t control the way her body reacts to him, just when Victoria thought she’d never see the man who made her feel so intensely, she was wrong… because this sexy, mysterious stranger isn’t a stranger at all, he just so happens to be the new Principal and evidently her new boss… and he looks just as good as he did the other night at the bar when she so drunkenly blurted out just how hot she thought he really was.
-
This story was sweet, sexy, inspiring, and beautiful. The way Victoria struggles through her insecurities and overcomes so much was so profound. Alexandria has touched on the topic of Mental health and bullying in such a tasteful way that I couldn’t help but feel so much for Victoria and was rooting for her till the very end! Auston was everything I love in my men, possessive, sexy, dominating and insanely sweet! He knew what he wanted and that was Victoria. The two were pure fire together and a perfect match! The way they listened to each other and lifted each other up was beautiful to read and I for one could not get enough of them.

“You have been dealt a really shitty hand in life, but maybe this is life trying to make it up to you."

Rating: 4/5⭐️

I've been very excited for this book since I first saw Alexandria's video on Instagram. The blurb had me and I just knew that I had to read it.

This story was a very sweet and romantic book. We meet our WMC, Victoria and from the get go, she's your average English teacher. The opening was a bit funny also, especially after doing literature for five years. Further into the book we truly learn who Victoria is. An intricate soul who's gone through so much. I remember reading and noticing that mental health was important to Alexandria and I want to thank her for taking it seriously doing quite an excellent job and representing it. To me, Vic is a confident person, but after reading and analyzing her character, I realized that there is so much to her and how she's wired.

Auston, our GQ model of a principal. I'm telling you, from the descriptions given, you would've sworn the dude jumped out a magazine. He's such a delight and he was also a delight to read about. The way he speaks to Vic and look at her had me dreaming and feeling extra lonely. He treats her with such care and love. As someone who dealt with his own personal issues, he really understands Vic better. Auston is a really good MMC and I think you guys will come to love him just as much as I did. While his and Vic's relationship progressed a bit faster than what I'm used to seeing, it did not take away from the genuinity of their love for each other.

During the book, I did feel like some things felt like they were being explained to me instead of just feeling fluid. Those moments, while I understood how they fit into the story and why, felt a bit abrupt. Besides that, this book was a wonderful start to Ms. Goncalves' writing journey and I'm more than excited to see what comes next.

3.5 Stars!

I love a book that really gets me to empathize and connect with the main character, and that is exactly what this book did. This book tells the story of Victoria, a schoolteacher who teaches at her hometown school and deals with a lot of insecurities that stemmed from her younger days at the school. When a young, hot new principal takes over at the school, obviously sparks fly, and boy was it a joy to see them fly. The tension between the characters when they were getting acclimated with each other was SO GOOD. This story was so sweet, and I loved seeing the love blossom between the two characters. Auston was such a kind man to Victoria and made her feel like the best thing in the world, while Victoria opened herself up more than ever with Auston. Victoria has a really strong support system in her friends which was amazing to read.

While this was a great read, I wish this was dual POV. Auston was a great character, but I think I missed out on a lot of glorious introspection from him on his life & relationship with Victoria. The flow of the writing was a bit disjointed for me but it didn’t prevent me from getting invested in the plot and characters.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book — I breezed through it — and definitely recommend it! I can’t wait to see what comes next from this author! She has a spin-off novella out that I’m planning on reading extremely soon.

And Auston...if you’re ever in my town, my number is —

Thank you to Alexandria Goncalves for sending me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!
This book follows Victoria a high school English teacher and Auston who was just hired as the principle! They both have a back history that threatens the relationship…the only question is can they get past it??
My favourite part of the book was seeing Victoria grow and develop throughout the book. Alexandria did an amazing job with representing anxiety, bullying, mental health and body image issues through Victoria which I appreciated. I felt seen and felt like I wasn’t the only one who has gone through these issues before.
I absolutely loved the female friendship rep this book gave (hands up emoji)! Victoria’s friends, Emma and Hannah constantly supported her and I loved how they were included throughout the whole book, instead of slowly fading out. They were a very important aspect of Victoria’s life and weren’t overshadowed with her developing a relationship.
To be honest this book made me hungry….I mean with all the delicious food being mentioned how could you not be? Pasta, pizza and shopping in a snack aisle… I may or may not be currently snacking on Cheetos because of it.
Alexandria this was such a great book and I can’t wait to see how you grow as a CANADIAN author!

I’ve been looking forward to this book ever since it was announced and it’s such a beautiful story🙌🏻 I love our main FMC, Victoria, she is a very relatable character. Victoria deals with a lot of anxiety and self doubt that has been instilled in her by her past. She has her own traumas that she’s going through and is healed from but like anyone else, she deals with unhappy moments. She is strong, smart and such a loving person.

I love the relationship she has with her friends and can’t wait to see books for them hopefully😍🤞🏻 They have an amazing dynamic and I love that they all teach together. Austin is our hero in the story and he is every bit the GQ model that Victoria makes him out to be. He’s very mysterious throughout the book but as he in Victoria fall fo each other, he opens up more. He also has a great friend group that I hope to see more of in the future.

Overall, this was book was the perfect amount of spice with a whole lot of adorable moments rolled into one🥰

Congrats to Alexandria on her debut novel! She is someone that I've followed on bookstagram for some time and it was so exciting to find out she was writing her own story!

I loved that this book did not shy away from heavier topics. It shed some light on living with anxiety, insecurities, and grief. As someone who has always dealt with being overweight, it meant so much to read about a woman with curves. The author pinpoints the way women can feel so confident one minute, and the other, they can start to question everything. The FMC uses her clothing to elevate her confidence, which gives her a sense of armor to hold on to... I totally resonate with this. When I dress the way I want, I feel good. PLUS, the curvier woman gets the guy?! About damn time! Not to mention he's the sexy, hot guy.

Tropes include:
workplace romance (teacher/principal)
small town

I highly enjoyed this story. My only wish is that we would have got more intimate moments between Victoria and Auston, just having more conversations and doing everyday things.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Nothing good ever lasts, but god I want to believe this will be the one thing that does."

What You'll Find:
✔️Workplace Romance
✔️Forbidden Feel
✔️Sizzling Steam
✔️Curvy Heroine
✔️Single POV

I thought this was a very solid debut and really enjoyed it. Did it take me some time to get into the story? Yes. But once that connection was formed for me between the MC's, I was hooked and turning the pages for more. This teacher/principal story is sizzling. It's got a forbidden feel that I enjoyed. It also tackles some important issues such as body image, anxiety, grief and bullying that I thought were handled well.

There are some FIERCE female friendships in this one, that while I really enjoyed, at times over shadowed the romance for me (mostly in the beginning). The writing could be descriptive at times and I was missing a bit of connection/depth between them outside the sizzle... But that is just personal reading preferences. Overall an enjoyable debut and that epilogue is perfection. I must say, I also loved all the Canadian references. Will read this author again!

This story deals with some sensitive issues, such as bullying and body shaming, that are relatable for many but were kept light but at the forefront of the story.

This is a quick, fun and super sexy teacher-principal romance with emotional topics, and good girlfriends/ besties vibes.

Victoria and Auston should come with a Kindle safety warning 🌶🌶🌶/3

A few plot points didn’t add up, and the story itself was repetitive and not fluid. I also prefer emotional connection over what felt like excessive risqué (taboo?) sexy times, but that’s me 😅

All this being said, this is a debut book that the author can be proud of and I’m sure will grow from here on.

WOW! I LOVED THIS BOOK. the friendships, the relationships, their personalities. Everything about this book was amazing.  Not gonna lie, i did get a little worried there at the end, im so glad it all worked out! AUSTON AND VICTORIA GOT MARRIED, the letter that her parents left behind, omg I can't even, I cried. I really enjoyed all of the portuguese references, and loved how it took place in Ontario.

HOW COULD FORGET THE SPICINESS OF THIS BOOK. I loved how spicy and steamy this book is. All of the sex scenes though 😍 🌶

What a great book for a first time author! I loved the dynamic between Auston and Vic, perfect sweet work place romance.
I think this book is really valuable for anyone, particularly females, going through body confidence issues as it reads a lot into this and the emotions that go with it.

DNF. Really tried to give this a shot, but was turned off by several ageist comments and a line where the fmc referred to herself as “bipolar” when around the mmc. It’s 2022 and long past time to stop using mental illness as a throwaway personality trait.

“Nothing good ever lasts, but god I want to believe this will be the one thing that does. I have never been the girl to get what she wants, but I want Auston Scott”

wow ok so, first of all, i just want to say that i’ve never read a romance book more relatable than hot for the principal. and for that alone, this book deserves 10000/5 stars.

the characters :

"What he doesn't realize is that I already feel myself becoming addicted to him. He has given me more emotion in the last month than I have felt in my entire life."

victoria mateus - she was sweet, sassy and basically exactly like i imagined her to be. her insecurities hit close to home cause i shared some of them. so reading her going through them and overcoming them and learning to be freaking brave really inspired me. her confidence in fashion is something i DREAM to build.

"Not once did I doubt how fucking beautiful you are. You make me feel like a god damn teenager when I'm around you, who can't control his fucking dick."

auston scott - victoria might have some competition cause i kinda want auston for myself 😌 his confidence, his “swag”, the way he’s so cocky sometimes 🥵 *swoons*. i love how comfortable and confident he makes vic feel 🥺 he might have been a lil bit of an ass in the beginning but i’ll ignore it cause my guy just couldn’t handle how sexy my girl was 😈🙃

the plot :

it was simple, sweet and hit all the right emotions. the conversations between victoria and auston were so damn relatable. i could honestly see myself having the same ones with my future boyfriend (✨manifesting✨ for myself 😌).

alexandria handled the topic of bullying really well. she showed us the long terms effects which a lot of authors don’t do.

the topic of bullying really hits close to home. i was bullied in high-school. whenever i think about those days, i get so angry at myself for not standing up to them. but you know what? i’m kinda glad i went through that cause it made me the person i am today. it made me love and protective of myself even more. it made me stand up to the karens of the world.

so thank you alexandria for writing this 🤍

quotes that hit close to home :

"It's always been easier to hold back on love than to have to worry about losing love at any moment."

"I have never enjoyed being criticized; maybe that's why I never started writing my novel. And people can be extremely mean when they don't like your work."

other things i LOVED :

- YOU WANNA KNOW HOW I KNOW THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN BY A TRUE ROMANCE FAN? its cause of this line :

“I walk to my bedroom and grab my grey sweats and a t-shirt that reads, 'Boys in books are better'."

ALSO when vic watches gabriel’s inferno on passionflix 💀💀💀

- the food descriptions 😭 the way i was drooling over truffle lasagne and joe’s wings 🤤

- the friendships. get me a girl gang like vic, emma’s and hannah’s. that’s all i need in life.

- the memory wall. “a memoir of memories”

- JOE. JOE. JOE. a sexy silver-fox bartender with tattoos. gimme gimme gimme

- auston’s sister and her psychiatrist. i have my eyes on you alexandria 👀🤞🏽

i loved this book sm. i know everyone will too. i bet anyone and everyone can find something to relate to in this book.

so so so excited to read hot for the bartender and anything else alexandria writes 🤍

Alexandria Goncalves knocked her debut book out of the park! She literally took one of my favorite fantasies and turned it into an amazing book. She also made me realize that I am perfect the way I am and should tell my insecurities to f*ck off!

Plot: 4.5
The plot was great. I loved how Alexandria included bullying, anxiety, and insecurities into this book. I honestly think that is what made it so amazing. And Victoria falling in love with her hot boss was an added bonus. The only reason I’m giving the plot a 4.5/5 is because I wish the whole situation with Auston at the end was maybe moved forward in the book a little. That way there was more details and everything instead of it feeling a little rushed. But that’s it!

Characters: 5/5
Auston is the sexy, hot principal that you can’t help but to fantasize about. The way he talked about Victoria and fell for her had me swooning. Victoria is this plus size, bad ass that I love. It was so easy for me to connect with her in this book, especially with her past in high school and her insecurities now. I honestly felt like I was reading about myself! I even loved the side characters.

Spice: 5/5
Don’t get me started on the spice. 100% amazing! I was blushing so hard reading these scenes. Auston & Victoria’s chemistry is amazing. You could literally feel the sparks flying between them. I would have to say my favorite scenes were his office and his car. They will forever live rent free in my head!

Overall: 4.75/5
Absolutely phenomenal debut novel! There were so many things that I loved about this book. I will definitely say that I went through some emotions reading because of Victoria’s past & everything that happened. (It just brought back so much, but in a way that made me realize that I am amazing and should feel great in my skin!) Alexandria is a must-buy author for me! Highly recommend this book!

- Hot for the Principal by Alexandria Goncalves

Hot For The Principal is Alexandria Goncalves debut novel and follows the story of a badass, curvy, teacher named Victoria Mateus and the schools hot, confident, new principal Auston Scott. Hot For The Principal is told solely in Victoria’s POV.

Auston and Victoria’s relationship started out a little rocky and with quite a bit of tension and I was here for it! I loved getting to see the tension between them and then watching it slip away and turn into something else entirely🔥 🙌🏻

Individually and Auston and Victoria were amazing characters, but together they were*chefs kiss*
Victoria was a really relatable character, she was genuine and fun, but also struggled with a lot of anxiety and insecurities as a result of being bullied when she was younger. Auston was a swoon worthy character. He was possessive and caring, but my favorite thing about Auston was the way he made Victoria comfortable in her own skin and how he help bring out her confidence.

Also, talking about amazing characters, I can’t not talk about Victoria’s two best friends Emma and Hannah because those two were freaking goals! The three woman had been best friends for years and you could just feel the connection between the three of them. Every time they would all get together I couldn’t help but smile. #bestiegoals

Alexandria did a great job with this book, the character, the plot, the steam, and the way she touch on the sensitive topic of bullying and the long term affects it can have on a person an their mental health was amazing!

Congratulations Alexandria your fabulous debut novel! It was amazing to hear all of your ideas for this story and then actually get to see it all come together❤️ I cant to see what you write next!😆❤️

a new canadian author?👀
we LOVE that.

If you’re looking for a book that does a great representation of what it’s like to be living with anxiety & insecurities… this is it.

I resonated so much with Victoria, it made this story so much more enjoyable.
Don’t get me wrong. I loved the story regardless.

We have a fierce, badass women that starts to come out of her shell a little bit more as the story goes on. Despite her struggles.

The amount of love she gets from her two bestfriends Emma & Hannah is the kind of love & support we all deserve & need in our lives.
No matter how bad her own mental illness’ get to her, she has people to lift her back up.

Auston was just the icing on the cake.
She didn’t need him to be whole.
But he made a positive impact on her life.

Loving her & showing her that she is desirable & worthy of love no matter her size. He just adores her & cannot get enough of her…🤭
His cocky, yet also super swoon worthy personality was a hit for me.
Also.. HOT PRINCIPAL… do i need to say more?🥴

THE SMUT….
Heck yes.
We loved that smut. It didn’t over power the plot, but it certainly added to it!😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

The topic of bullying was a heavy hit for me, mainly because it was so accurate to some personal experiences growing up & attending school.
This book really shows what it can do to you, even when it’s not longer a constant thing.

I could go on forever about this book.

Alexandria, you brilliant, beautiful bish.
You got yourself a #1 fan & I will be reading any and ALL future books by you.

Heck, gimme your grocery list i’ll read that.🤣
I’m sure i’ll be safe from tears reading that.. but who knows.
You might just add a letter to it so I can🙄😤😭

Wow! this is my first time reading a book where our heroine is your average size 13. Her personality and personal struggles pulled me in and I needed to know more about her.

"You have got to be fucking with me universe, haven't I dealt with enough of your shit?"

Victoria Mateus is an English teacher and is a badass in my book, but she also deals with anxiety. Her struggles are stemmed from years of bullying and the heartbreak of her having lost both her parents. Then comes our Hot Principal Austen Scott who is as the title puts it "HOT" he is our athletic, lean, and built principal, but the chemistry these two share is thru the roof.

"Alright sir, I know you're all lean, built, and GQ-like, but this girl has got to eat."

Austen and Victoria's relationship is what any woman would hope for in a partner supportive, understanding, caring, and loving. He lets Victoria realize how amazing and strong she is, but lets her rise and come out of her shell on her own. He is there every step of the way loving and supporting her thru her anxiety attacks and insecurities. The encouragement he provides made me love him.

"You have been dealt a really shitty hand in life but maybe this is life trying to make it up to you"

We also get a glimpse of Victoria's girl gang Emma and Hannah who are the best friends any girl can have. These girls had me laughing and loving them all at the same time.

This book gave me all the vibes and definitely took me back to school with so many memories, laughs, crushes and cries. From beginning to end I was pulled in and smiled while reading this amazing story as it developed. What a story cannot wait for the book world to get their hands on this debut novel.

Wow! What an amazing debut novel. HFTP beautifully brings to light so many issues women deal with.

Body image, mental health, friendship, bullying, traumatic loss...and figuring out how to find love worth letting in.

It's a breath of fresh air to read about a heroine who's curvy and not always confident in the way she looks or feels. She was extremely relatable.

Victoria has dealt with a lot in her life that has left her with serious anxiety that manifests itself in different ways throughout the book. Alex did a outstanding job showcasing what living with anxiety is like and how different people deal with it. Vic wouldn't be where she is now in life without her two best friends. I live for a tight nit girl group that doesn't have cattiness and backstabbing.

Principal G.Q. Scott...what a man! This man was top tier from the beginning. I'm usually one for a total alpha hole that breaks down over time. But Auston got to me. His obviously attraction and devotion to Vic was blatantly obvious. His care for her mental and emotional health was EVERYTHING. Add to that his sex god qualities in the bedroom and we may have the perfect man on our hands ladies!

This book is easily a five star read for me! And I'll have to say it was SPICYYYY!

If you love workplace romance, with a curvy heroine, a G.Q. model looking hero, sassy and hilarious friends, a spotlight for mental health, and spice this book is for you. Now I'm off to go read Joe's story - Hot For The Bartender and let me tell you once you've read HFTP you'll want to too.

Hot For The Principal was such a beautiful story. Not only is the romance sweet and spicy, which I'll get to in a minute but the character development and growth that we see in the heroine Victoria is just beautiful. Victoria is easily a relatable character, she has flaws and self doubt which who doesn't? But she learned how to not only love and trust outside of her comfort zone but also to find love and trust for herself again. Seeing her bloom into this woman who is comfortable in her own skin and loves herself was just incredible.
Now, she definitely had encouragement and that came in the form of Mr. GQ model Auston the principal. I loved him from the start, he was a mystery but was always honest and confident in the fact that he wanted Victoria and I loved that. Not only was he attractive on the outside but on the inside as well when we got to know him. The forbidden-ness in this book was just right, he's her boss and they started off a little rocky but it was a fun ride.
The side characters were amazing and so supportive as well, I love Victoria's friends; they were the ride-or-die type and I hope we get more of them!
The steam was sweet at times while spicy at others. A few scenes will live in my head rent free and I'm not mad about it haha. Honestly, if you love sweet and spicy romance with a beautiful story between a man looking for love and a woman not knowing she didn't need love to love herself but instead found it all and then some definitely check this book out!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I always get this giddy feeling in my stomach when I read a baby book from a fellow author—-because I know the feelings that they have flowing throughout their bodies during this time!

Alexandria did an amazing job. Her writing is phenomenal; she made me feel like I was in the room with the characters. I was impressed with the raw emotion in this book, and the topics that were represented. Bullying, mental health, and body image issues.

Victoria was such a relatable character, and Mr. Scott is the book boyfriend we all need. The beginning was full of tension and frustration, then everything was great, but like Vic—- I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it did, this book had me pacing in my living room.

Great books make you feel emotions across the board and this book DID THAT.

The spice was just right —- who doesn’t love being slammed up against a wall? Or being sent to the principal’s office?

This book was an easy, comfortable read—-like your favorite blanket that you wrap yourself up in during the winter. Alexandria may be a new author, but she is definitely one that you need to keep your eye on! I have a feeling her books are going to be in all the major bookstores across the world in just a few short years.

Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Victoria’s life at 29 isn’t what she had planned, but it’s where she is. When Auston shows up as the new Principal sparks fly and it has Victoria questioning a lot of things and looking at her life in a new life. Auston has had some challenges and once he meets Victoria is immediately smitten.
I loved how this book dealt with some heavy stuff. There’s bullying, loss of parents, mental health, and body image. Victoria has struggled with bullying her past and present and how to have the confidence she wants.  She has her two best friends, Hannah and Emma, and her life, but she feels sort of stuck. Auston went from literal rags to riches and carries a lot of baggage from that.  Add-in the drama of high school and being educators. Despite that, they find both each other and themselves.
As I said in my stories, the plot and the topics were relevant and well done.  I would have just liked for a bit more editing in the overall book.  There were a lot of descriptors from house stuff to clothes, etc.  Victoria used clothing to feel confident, which tied back into those descriptions, but some of the Pinterest/house stuff didn't fit as well.  A few less details would have helped the flow.
As someone who struggles with body image, I appreciated this type of story.  I don't want a less than 5 star rating to deflect from a great debut.

I had to keep reminding myself that this was a debut book for this author she has written a very cute story from start to finish there are no holes in it that I felt it covered everything where the story developed it ended beautifully all at all a fantastic story

The descriptors used for each character or extremely relevant made it really easy to immerse yourself in the story and picture exactly what was going on exactly what the characters would look like exactly the emotions they were feeling

Well hello Mr Scott or Mr GQ model or however you would like to have him describe to you Greek god in a flannel shirt!

Are leading Lady Vic or Victoria size 14 bodacious girl like myself having the heroine of a book be slightly different to what is normally written is also extremely pleasing and done in a way that is not tacky or felt forced at all this was beautifully written.

The smut scenes also very well descriptive and it felt like I was right there with them I knew exactly what was happening and didn’t have to guess loved it loved it so much

The epilogue was sheer perfection and a great way to round out the story!!!

I cannot wait to see where you go next with this

Thanks for the Arc xx

High school teacher, Victoria, loves her life, her friends and her job. As a teen, she was bullied by someone at her high school for how she looked. Victoria wasn’t the slimmest girl at school and unfortunately became a target.

As an adult, her life was struck with tragedy when she lost two of the most important people in her life. Eight years have gone by and she still feels the pain from that loss on a day to day basis.

Thankfully she has her best friends (Emma & Hannah) to make life a little bit more bearable. That is until a tall, sexy, handsome stranger enters her life. That stranger just to happened to be a man named Auston…oh yeah, he’s also her boss.

Auston is the new principal at the high school Victoria works for. He’s a no nonsense guy when it comes to his job (due to a particular issue at a previous school) but once he gets into Victoria’s heart, there’s no turning back. For either one of them.

I LOVED the Canadian references and also I really appreciated the fact that Auston’s issue towards the end of the book was dealt with in a timely matter. Sometimes the problem can be dragged on in a book when it doesn’t need to. It was a great debut!

Thank you @candikanepr for the eARC!

This was author Alexandria Goncalves debut novel and it was fantastic! She’s a bookstagramer I have followed for a while so when I found out she was writing I was super excited!

Victoria is a plus size beauty of an English teacher in a small town in Canada. She finds a lot of confidence in her clothing and has some fantastic outfits. Her two best friends since high school are also teachers at the same school with her and they have an amazing friendship dynamic.

Auston is the hot new principal who shoes up to the school. He is Mr GQ! He is hot, and dresses like a model. He also treats Vic like she’s a queen and tells her how sexy he finds her at any chance he gets.

There’s some great spicy scenes but also great relationships and friendships all around. You feel like your apart of their circle. The characters are extremely relatable and likable.

For a debut novel I was incredibly impressed. I can’t wait to see why else Alexandria has up her sleeves in the future. I know she put a shot follow up novella “Hot for the Bartender” to release with this and I will definitely be reading!

Shocked this is a debut novel!! So amazing!!

Debut novel?? Are we 100% sure about that because I just devoured this book and it was written so well and was such a complete well-rounded story.

What I loved about this book:
💓 Curvy heroine who struggled at times to love herself but ultimately realized how amazing she was
💕 Sexy older man who wears 3-piece suits and suspenders (need I say more?)
💕 Amazing group of friends
💕 Some sneaking around that involves some “special” times in a car and the principals office
💕 Real life topics like grief, anxiety & bullying

Not gonna lie based on the title alone I somehow thought this was going to be more of a insta-love steamy quick read. It was not that at all…this was a really in-depth novel that, while having laughs and ALL the steam, also delved into some serious topics that we don’t get too often in romances (see above).

The story flowed so well and there definitely some angst for the angst-lovers that shocks you a little but which is ultimately resolved real well. Overall, I think I’ve found a new author for my automatic TBR and I’m reading her novella Hot for The Bartender tonight.
