Sweet Cove Cozy Mystery Collection: Books 1-10 by J.A. Whiting.
It took me a while to get used to the writing style and it is not a writing style that I particularly like, but the individual stories are well crafted with as an added bonus some recipes at the end of each book. Try a sample on the amazon website to see if you like the writing style before you purchase. This box set is value for money as it contains the first 10 books of this series and it sets up the overall story arc. A cozy mystery with a bit of a paranormal twist, 4 sisters who may or may not be witches and 2 cats who all have a gift that they use for solving crimes. Each book introduces a new crime and at the end of each book that crime is solved. The personal lives of each sister and their romantic interests are woven into each book and I would suggest you read these books in order, as they are not really stand-alone books.
A few things that are a bit unrealistic but I get it is a cozy mystery not crime fiction. At the end of book 10, I have spent enough time with the 4 sisters and their friends and do not feel the need to purchase the remaining books in the series. At the time of writing this review in June 2023, there are 22 books in this series with book 23 scheduled to be released in December 2023. Overall, a nice, simple and easy read. 3 and half stars.

sweet story, but…..
The first book was written in a very stilted childish way, but being a sucker for romance I persevered. The flow of the writing improved, but not the proof readers skill in picking up on errors. There was a lot of unnecessary minutiae given throughout the books, that slowed them down and led nowhere, mostly brushed under the carpet, the eventual solving of the crimes was simplified, so definitely not a five star read, but an effort to entertain nevertheless. 3 stars for effort.

Sweet Cove is a sweet read
I feel as if the characters in the Sweet Cove mystery series have become friends, maybe even family, over the last few weeks.
Whiting has created a charming world peopled (and catted) by caring, ethical folks whose lives, loves, and stories are entertaining and satisfying.

Finally finished all the books in this package. They managed to hold my interest, maybe because there was just enough of the paranormal. No werewolves or shapechangers. Just a bit of mind skills. Reminded me of the old Zenna Henderson sci fi books of The People who had various mind skills.

Enjoyable series set in coastal Massachusetts. Interesting well developed characters, joy, light,happiness, great recipes and suspense. Would for sure recommend this series.

Sweet Cove Mysteries
I love Sweet Cove and the characters in these books. I felt like I got to know them and would love to be there. It sounded like a great place to live. It seemed like real people and places and some good mystery. I would recommend these books.

Amazing
I thoroughly enjoyed these books, great mysteries. I do enjoyed getting to know the four sisters their boyfriends and not forgetting Mr Finch and his girlfriend. As well as friends of there's what a great series

I need more
I hope this series continues! This is well-written (thank you for your diligence with your editing) and exhilarating! I couldn’t put any of these down. I had to read through a book THEN put it away for a later date to read. Thank you!!

I really enjoyed this collection. The characters were all lovely, the stories were well written with the right amount of tension without being frightening.
It was great to have good mysteries to read which held my attention but weren’t too scary to read before bed.

Family is everything

I have just finished reading, non-stop, the first 10 books of the Sweet Cove Mystery series by J. A. Whiting. It has been my first venture into the realm of ‘paranormal’ mysteries, and I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. A bit lighter than my normal murder mystery genre, the stories follow the lives of four sisters who have unknowingly inherited different paranormal abilities from their deceased grandmother. As the stories progress, the sisters slowly discover that they each have ‘skills’ that they use to assist the local police Chief in solving crimes, mostly murder, in the small town where they live. Each story in the series is readable on its own, but there is enough carry through from the earlier stories that you would be missing something by not reading them in order. I look forward to continuing through the rest of this series, and then investigating some other series that have been written by this author.

Enjoyed the set
I loved the progression of the story through this set and the plots had a twist that made you think you had solved who did it and then there was a little added detail that brought it together. Loved the whole set....and a real bonus to get recipes...perfect!!

Interesting series

A must read series
I enjoyed reading these books and had a hard time putting my kindle away. I definitely recommend this collection and this author.

Couldn't put these books down!
Very easy reading. Great summer read! Didn't want the series to end. I read the whole series in less than a week. Overall a very enjoyable read!

I enjoyed reading these 10 mysteries. They were immensely entertaining and fun and quite addictive!!I feel that these amazing women are part of my family now.

Good series

Ever finish many books in a series wishing there were more? This series is that one. Easy reading and very enjoyable with a twist and unexpected turn here and there.

This book provides a most realistic view of paranormal "skills. It does get into waving wands and sinister spells. Rather it emburs the heroines with feelings above the normal. A GOOD read !

During the summer, I like my reading to be light and enjoyable but with a little suspense and mystery. With these books, I can sit back with an iced tea in my hand and enjoy an afternoon reading. I love the interaction between the sisters and their boyfriends/husbands. A great book and a good series for taking with you on vacation or to a day at the beach.
