Rate this book
I'm not ready to be a single dad . . . I had my life all figured out. Hockey. A revolving door of women. No strings. No worries. Until my sister runs off with a man she's just met and leaves my nine-year-old niece in my living room with nothing but a backpack, a stuffed snake named Leo, and a broken heart. I need help. Elle Hurst was only supposed to be in my life for one night--a curvy distraction with a big heart and a wicked sense of humor. But she's volunteered to watch Chloe while she's in town, and I have no choice but to let her. It can't last. She has an expiration date, a life to get back to in Savannah, and I don't do relationships. I know people don't stick around no matter how much you want them to--it's a lesson I've been taught my whole life. I won't risk losing my heart . . . or will I?

“When you left, you took a part of me with you. A part of me I don’t want back. You have my heart, Elle. I think I gave it to you our first night together.
Let me start by saying this is a sports romance with a slight touch of forced proximity, and a play on the single dad trope – in this case, single uncle. Let me continue by saying this has a lot of heat, and some very steamy sex scenes. And, of course, one hell of a wonderful, sexy hockey player.

I loved Tag. Tag carries this whole book for me. It’s usually satisfying to see the big, bad playboy be brought to his knees over a girl, but I didn’t feel it this time. Once I got started on this book, he didn’t feel like that much of a playboy to me. He felt like someone broken, someone who didn’t have it easy in life, and who rolled with the punches. He is who he needed to be. And now he needs to be both uncle and father to his niece, Chloe, whose mom dropped her off with him and left to chase after some guy. (disgusting, btw!)

On the other hand, I really disliked Elle. Disliking a heroine is not very common for me, but she came off as annoying and spoiled to me, so different from her sister Lucy, whom we met in the first book (and will be the heroine of the third book in this series). She is the reason I'm giving this book a 3.5, rounded up to 4, because I think the writing was good.

I cannot deny the connection between Tag and Elle, or the chemistry, which was off the charts. Melissa Ivers can definitely write her sex scenes, people! However, I feel like Elle got a lot more than she deserved from Tag. I think there should’ve been some groveling, and not from him. She should have groveled for him, not the other way around.

“I want you however I can get you. Even if that means we have to live apart until I can get transferred to a closer team.”
You see, despite not having it easy, Tag always seemed to me as the one who really was in love, he just didn’t know what to do about it. He seemed to want her more, and to be willing to do more for her than she was willing to do for him. Spoilers ahead, don’t click unless you really mean to.

“What if she doesn’t want me?”
“What if she does?”

Proving my point, Tag goes to get her back. And it’s all sweet and really steamy, as it should be. And they do belong together. I needed an epilogue tying it all together, though. Something that shows what happened later, maybe when they reunite with Chloe, and what happens with Chloe (does Tag get full custody? does her mom get her head out of her ass and come back?). I needed that closure in the epilogue and I didn’t get it.

“You would do that?”
“For you, I’d do anything.”

If you’re looking for sports romance with steam, a dirty-talking, extremely hot single uncle, and an adorable kid with a serious love of snakes, this is the book for you.
Looking forward to the next book in the series!

I received an ARC for this book and this is my honest opinion.

4 Tag and Elle Stars

I am enjoying this series very much. I'm reading them out of order but each is a solid standalone with interconnecting characters. Ice Hockey Romances are my Kindle catnip so I always approach them with an unbridled sense of glee and so far this author has delivered.

Tag is a funny, popular and successful ice hockey player on the Nashville Devils Team. As a Hero he is very lovable and his sad backstory pulls at the heartstrings for sure .It definitely colours his view of relationships. He only does hook ups but when he has a night of passion with our heroine, Elle , he is surprised to find himself wanting more. I know this plot has been done a lot in sports romance but some do it better than others and I thought this was really well written. Tag never came across as callous or a manwhore. He has a good reason for wanting to stay unattached.

Moms weren’t supposed to drop you off at school and race home to get high and leave you there three hours past pickup. And dads were supposed to be there for you, to save you from a shitty life, to be proud of you when you made the NHL. Not pay for your hockey with the stipulation that you never contact him, his wife, or his real children.

They agree that one night was all that they would have - Elle is only staying for a couple of months as she has career and family obligations herself that she needs to get back to.

When Tag suddenly finds himself as the guardian of his 9yr old niece, Elle steps up to help him in the first few weeks. I always worry with this storyline that the Hero stays with the heroine because he needs a babysitter but again, it wasn't so with these two. This felt real and fitted with both of their characters.

Overall , this was a gorgeous read and I relished the build up to the inevitable conflict. They were both to blame for the brief separation and fall out but wow....Tag won me over completely with how he made things up to Elle. *beams from ear to ear*

So why not 5 stars ? Purely personal preference - I thought Tag's niece was incredibly articulate and insightful for a 9yo. Maybe I'm doing a disservice to 9 year olds everywhere but I felt like at times she seemed about 5 and then about 15. She's a sweet character but seemed very wise for her years. Also, I really wanted one of the 'baddies' to get some decent and deserved comeuppance.

The writing style is good and I loved the character development. On to the next Devil's book. (Looks at the hot British player....)

HEA? Yes
Cheating? No

One hot hockey player named Tag. One southern beauty named Elle visiting her sister for six weeks who runs into said hot hockey player. One night of fun to let off a little steam?

This single dad, hockey romance had humor, heart, and plenty of steam.

Tag gets thrown into a single uncle/father role when his sister chooses a man over her own daughter. She drops her off and leaves, never to communicate with them again. He loves his niece, so he took his new role seriously and I thought he did a great job caring for her.

I’m sorry to say I'm not a big fan of Elle. I feel bad about it, because she does have some good qualities. But she’s a grown woman who let’s her father tell her what to do and dictate her future, even who she’ll marry. That kinda irritated me. She walked away from love to listen (obey) her father. She didn’t fight very hard for Tag. She should’ve stood up for herself and fought for what she really wanted sooner. But alas, she finally pulled her head out of her behind at the end.

I did like Elle and Tag as a couple though. They were adorable and sweet when they were together. Although most of the time I just couldn't FEEL all those sparks flying around them when they were together. Could be a case of 'it's not you, it's me' because those two definitely .…

Chloe was an adorable character who was dealt a crappy hand by her own mother, but still had a good attitude most of the time. Should she have been more upset about never seeing her mom again? Probably. While I did absolutely adore her, sometimes I felt she was older than her 10 years of age. There were times I had to stop and think about how old she was. Because she talked and acted older than her 10 years of age. I have a ten-year old daughter, so it was easy for me to picture my own child saying some of those things, but yet I didn’t believe she would actually say them. Made me question some of the things Chloe said and did.

Overall this was an okay story for me. It's getting lots of great reviews, so I think many readers will enjoy it. It was my first read from this author and I do plan to read more from her.

Loved Elle’s sister, Lucy, and I look forward to reading her story. The little taste at the end was a perfect tease.

5 Star Review of Untamed Devil (Nashville Devils #2) by Melissa Ivers
Melissa Ivers is a new author to me and how I have not come across her books before I have no idea. This may have been my first book, but it will not be my last.
From the first chapter I was fully invested in Elle Hurst and Taggart (Tag) Harris’s story. From the moment they meet there is intense chemistry between them, although neither are looking for more than a night of passion. However fate often works in mysterious ways and what starts as a one night stand quickly becomes complicated.
When his sister Finley, leaves town and leaves him to care for his ten year old niece Chloe, Tag is desperate. Elle is such a caring, loving woman that she immediately volunteers to help him out in the short term.
This was a great story, the characters were easy to relate too and I found myself riveted in the story; in fact, I read this one in one go, I couldn’t put it down. My heart broke for the childhood that Tag experienced and I admired his strength and determination to ensure that Chloe did not suffer in the same way. Chloe, may only be ten but she certainly has some some great one liners that really cracked me up.
I loved the relationship that Tag and Chloe share and when Elle joined them, they all became the family that they never knew they were looking for. One click this little gem, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly loved Tag and Ellie. Sure Tag was a bit brooding, and hurt from his previous interactions and problems, he was still a great parent to his niece.

And sure Ellie is only temporary in the town and she has her own bag of problems, but she can't help falling for Tag or his adorable niece who definitely has went through a lot.

I loved their chemistry, and how they understood each other even if they could've been seen as different to each others' personalities. The banter and the emotional bond they form later, also melts my heart and wish they were my amigos. And the niece is my absolute favorite, I wanted to adopt her so bad.

With laugh-out-loud writing, sizzling chemistry, heartbreaking emotional bonding, and an adorable family altogether, I definitely recommend you will love this novel a lot and wish it was longer when it ends.

Until the next read,

“The last thing I need is to have to rely on someone else. It never seems to work out when I do.”

Holy. Shit. Y’all. Melissa Ivers has done it again! She has written a book that had my emotions all over the place. Not to mention giving me another hot, sexy, dirty talking hockey player to fall for.

After breaking up with her cheating football player boyfriend, Elle leaves Georgia to spend some time with her sister in Nashville, while swearing off athletes. Enter one Tag Harris, a hot hockey player who only has one night stands, and has no plans for a relationship. After Elle and Tag spend a hot night together, Tag wakes up to find his sister has dropped off his niece to live with him and taken off across the country. Now, Tag has to figure out how to change his entire life and Elle has to figure out what she really wants in hers.

I love Tag so much and my heart broke for him so many times during this book. With the way that he grew up it’s no wonder that he always felt that anyone in his life would leave him and not surprising that he has some issues surrounding that. Between having to be responsible for his niece Chloe, and Elle coming into to his life, those were the best things that could have ever happened to him. Now Elle, I simultaneously loved and was irritated by. She was so caught up in fulfilling her fathers legacy and doing exactly what her parents wanted that she never really stopped to think about what she wanted for herself. But she is also incredibly loyal and giving and such a loving person that I couldn’t help but root for her and keep hoping that she would ultimately do what was right for herself and not blindly follow what her father wants.

We also got to meet Tag’s niece Chloe who is just adorable, precocious, and such a handful that you can’t help but love her. Getting to catch up with Jazz and Lincoln along with seeing more of Foster and Lucy was so much fun and I can’t wait see these characters more in future books.

This book gave me so many feels. I laughed and cried and there were quite a few times that I was yelling at my kindle because I was so angry at what was going on in the book. It’s a testament to a writer when they can create and write characters that you dislike so, so much and that cause you such anxiety, and Melissa Ivers was able to do that in this book. Not to mention there were some scenes that were so hot they had me fanning myself and needing a cold drink to help me cool off. And that epilogue just made me even more excited for the next book!

Holy Wow!
Prepare your cold shower and heart because not only is the 'Devil Untamed' but good lord this man is hot, humorous, sweet, swoon-worthy, and loves a bit of dirty-talking spice. Yes Please!

When the untamed playboy Tag is shocked to learn he has just become a single dad to Chloe his niece what will he do?
Should he accept the offer of help from the beautiful, sweet, and humorous Elle, his recent one night stand?
And if he does can he keeps things platonic and not risk his heart?

Tag and Elle together are perfection! Their connection is instantaneous and sweet, their banter is humorous and flirty, and the chemistry between them is sizzling.
Tag's backstory and his insecurities tugged on my heart strings, and Elle's family situation gave me a few no I will not throw my Kindle moments. My heart went out to poor Chloe and I loved the relationship growth between Chloe, Tag, and Elle.
And let's not forget the rest of the Nashville Devil's who grace us with their presence and bring all the banter, and moments of brotherhood. Swoon!

I absolutely devoured this story that ended in a HEA that warmed my heart and put all the hearts in my eyes.

And then that slight cliffy that leads in to Book 3!! Oh God I nnneeeddddd!!!!

A Highly Recommended Read!!

4.5⭐️ LOVE Tag and Elle 😍

It was only supposed to be one night… The morning after, Tag gets the surprise of his life when his sister drops off his 9 year old niece and disappears. His only saving grace is Elle, who offers to watch Chloe while she’s in town. Neither have room in the life or hearts for love. Certainly not Tag who is used to being abandoned.

THIS WAS SO CUTE!! I love when it starts as a one night stands and turns to more. Especially when they have as much chemistry as Elle and Tag do. Throw in a sweet little girl with no filter and SWOON!

The whole snake thing.. I died. 😂 So many LOL moments! Ahhh, I cannot wait to read more about this team!

Untamed Devil is the second book in the Nashville Devils series by Melissa Ivers. This standalone novel will have you on the edge of your seat, and your emotions on a roller coaster as you watch the journey of Elle and Tag.

Tag is a sexy, bad boy hockey player who will have you cheering for him from the get-go. Elle is a sweet southern lady that is filled with sass when needed. The two together are explosive with their chemistry.

A one night stand turns into a whole lot more when the dirty talking, and self proclaimed life long bachelor, Tag suddenly becomes a single father. What should have been a fling with visiting Elle turns into a whole lot more when she helps navigate his way through his new life.

If you are into fast paced, emotional sports romances, I highly recommend this novel!

Wow, just wow. Melissa has gone and blown it out of the park again with this book. ( I mean.. this line got me… hook… line and sinker 🤣🤣)

“Forgetting about my problems is easier when I’m face-first in a nice set of tits.”

I was really excited to read this book, because I absolutely loved Linc and Jazz.. but little did I know, this would steal my heart even more!

From the first page, I was hooked and laughing at what makes Tag help forget about his problems. He is such a cheeky playboy, and I loved what I saw of him from before… but straight off the bat, this brought so many different dimensions to him. This book was so hot - you could see the steam coming off the screen, but there was so much heart too.

“Never mind the cold shower, I’ll be going straight in an ice bath.”

The connection between him and Elle was just palpable. His relationship with his niece Chloe was so adorable, I absolutely loved her character. She just brought so much to this book too! Parts of this book made my heart hurt, then soar. I did not want it to end.

“The only woman I see. The only woman I want to see is you. It’s always you.”

If you want a steamy hockey romance, with heart, a dirty talking hot single dad story line with some light s&m touches to add a bit of extra spice, oh and did I mention swoonworthy?? this is your jam. I feel like it’s everyone’s jam!! Read it, you won’t regret it.

What a yummy, quick read. Untamed Devil is right. Tag is a handsome devil. Although, Elle is a bit cheeky herself. While, I did love these two I do have to admit that my heart was won over by Chloe. I can't help it when an adorable child is featured in a story. Plus, she had some good liners that came out of her mouth that had me laughing.

I love that Tag changed his attitude instantly when he realized the delicate situation with his niece, Chloe and was ready to step up; even if he was not prepared. I instantly fell in love with Elle. When you combine Tag and Elle, you get some very hot sex.

Untamed Devil scores a hat trick with great characters, wonderful storyline, and scoring both on and off the ice!

I couldn't wait to read this next installment of the Nashville Devil series by Ms.Ivers, and I loved Tag even more than I thought I would.
The story evoked so many genuine emotions in me and Melissa's way of describing scenes and body language so vividly yet light and natural gives me a full immersive experience while making the story breeze right by.
Back to Tag, what a gorgeous man, and not just on the outside. True heart of gold on this one, not just for the way he takes care of his abandoned niece, but the open and honest affections he shows Elle. While he begins as a proclaimed bachelor in the beginning, his back story makes his reasonings entirely believable instead of being a vague cliche. And his sudden about-face and developing of feelings for Elle are just as believable, making it easy to appreciate this love story as it unfolded in front of me!
I highly recommend this book, as well as the first book in the series, Forbidden Devil!

This was a really good addition go the series -- I liked Tag more than I liked Elle though. I hated how she was a grown woman who would let her cold father call the shots in her own life. I really wanted her to stick up for herself sooner than she did, and I wanted her to fight for Tag sooner. But I'm glad they got their fought after HEA.

And maybe it's not real important, but I've noticed that the steam factor has gone down since the first book, and with how dirty Lincoln was, I hope Melissa brings that heat back with the fourth book.

4.5⭐️

I was so excited to read this book because it has the single dad trope. It did not disappoint, I loved it! It was such a fun and easy read.

I really loved Elle and Tag. I honestly felt the chemistry between them from the beginning. They were both so gone for each other before they even knew it. They were so domestic, I couldn’t cope. Tag really stepped up for Chloe. He was such a good ‘dad’ and they had a really sweet relationship. He made my heart melt. I really enjoyed Chloe’s character too, she was so funny and cute.

Also, the spice in this book is amazing. Tag and his dirty talk, oh my god🥵

The only thing missing from this book was an epilogue from their POV to wrap things up properly, but I did enjoy the epilogue from the next boys POV. I’m excited for the next book!

My bad. I usually enjoy the uncle to single parent trope and find it amusing. But right now I'm holding a special grudge against unapologetic manwhores. I get that they can have a whole redemption arc in the right setting but I just... don't... care.

I've been eager for more of this series since reading Forbidden Devil and Melissa did not disappoint, I read this in one sitting as I was unable to put it down.
1st up - Tag's past and the way it affects his thinking made me feel all sorts of emotional.
2nd up - Chloe stole my heart with her cuteness - poor little girl with her mum leaving her.
3rd up - Tag stepping up and taking the parental role melted my heart.

The emotional turmoil for Elle, trying to keep her parents happy and then her current situation with Tag. She helps with Chloe with the inclination that she's going back to her parents at some point.

How will Tag manage his parental role with Chloe and juggle the team at the same time?
Can Tag and Elle keep their distance?

•SO in love with Tag!•

This book gave me ALL the feels!! I have been looking forward to this book for a while and I can say without a doubt Melissa delivered in spades!!

Tag is without a doubt my favorite in this whole cast of characters and has been from the start. He’s a fun-loving, charismatic guy who has shielded himself from not only romantic relationships but also those closest to him. I really loved seeing him open up to the guys about his past and the situation with Chloe. The parts where he’s more vulnerable were the best parts for me, as it showed a real in depth look at who he is. Chloe is a spitfire, her bluntness had me cracking up constantly. The consistency of her being IN the book and a main focus was a huge plus for me.

Elle is adorable and sweet, looking for a fun time before she takes on the weight her parents are bestowing upon her back home. Chloe and Tag being unexpected in her life and opening up new possibilities for her was incredibly heartwarming and had me rooting for all of them.

This is truly Tag’s story and while reading I found that I loved that the most. We get a full and well rounded look into his life and personality. An absolute fantastic addition to this series, definitely recommend giving this book a read.

I LOVED Tag. From page one I completely fell in love with him and as the story continued, I just fell even more. He has some walls built up from his past, but he is also caring, sweet and protective. Elle is just visiting her sister, Lucy, when she meets Tag. She is getting a break from her father’s business temporarily. Her focus is her career and making her father happy.

The connection between Tag and Elle is instant. These two felt something more for each other from the start but knew that they shouldn’t really continue. With a connection like theirs that isn’t easy to do. Their bond is so much more than physical and they both bring out different sides to the other.

I adored Chloe. She is smart and her love of snakes is fantastic, especially since her Uncle Tag dislikes them so much. The bond that Chloe formed with Tag is amazing and of course, I loved the connection she built with Elle. They are exactly who Chloe needs in her life.

Untamed Devil is full of laughs, sweet moments and steamy scenes from the start!

If you’re looking for a single dadish, hockey romance this is one to check out.

I'm an absolute sucker for a single daddy trope, so when you give me an uncle who steps up to take care of a little girl whose mom abandoned her, I am a giant puddle of mush.

Elle comes from a very Southern family who has a dad who's controlled her entire life and also her future. So when Elle comes out and spends some time with her sister Lucy and she finds out the Tag needs some help with a niece, it's the perfect Nanny single daddy setup

Tag gave me all the good feels, and I just absolutely loved these two together. Elle was a loveable character and I enjoyed her so much.

Overall ☆☆☆☆/5

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Untamed Devil by Melissa Ivers is a sports romance. It's the second book from the Nashville Devils series.

This one is about Tag Harris, a Devil player, and Elle Hurst. Tag was a sworn bachelor with family issues he wanted to forget. Elle had recently broken up and needed a break before she moved back to her hometown to take over the family business. They met at a bar and had an incredible night. It was supposed to be a one-time thing but the next day changed their plans. He ended up with a kid and she offered to help him out. They were spending a lot of time together and getting much closer than they should. On New Year's Eve, she had to go back to Georgia and he had to stay in Nashville. Could they continue their lives as nothing happened between them?

This is one steamy novella. It has a great plot filled with sassy moments, steamy scenes, and some quite emotional ones. The romance is a slow burn but the lust is there since the beginning. Even though the story is focused on the brewing relationship between the main characters we also get to see a little hockey action and the relationships with the secondary characters as well. The chemistry Tag and Elle have is off the charts and it is so natural. Both of them are incredible but Elle was a bit annoying with her daddy issues. If I had to choose a favorite character that would be Chloe hands down, that kid is so clever and mouthy. The ending is like a fairytale.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I will rate it with 4,5 stars. I can't wait to read the next one.

If you like - sport romance
- single parent (uncle)
- hot, dirty talking hockey player
- female character with a heart of gold
- great friendship
- highly emotional story
- a sweet little girl that needs loving
- witty comebacks

Book in the Nashville Devils series bring us the story of Tag, whom I loved from book one, and was looking forward to his story, but can be easily read as a standalone.
Tag was the jocksterer of the group in the first book. He'd given me the impression that his life is a big party, hockey, hooking up with random women, alway a witty comment on his tongue , never taking things seriously. But he was also a great and valuable friend.
From the very beginning we're given more insight into his life, which wasn't all sunshine and rainbow. His childhood wasn't easy, but he's as loyal to family, as he's to his friends.
Having a ten year old nice dropped off in your living room, is not something a single man is ever imagined. But he took it in stride, not even having second thought about keeping Chloe, who by the way, is a wonderful sweet child.
Elle was on a vacation /hiatus from her " real life" , after a bad break up she needed some time to recoup, before moving back home, and taking over the family business. That how she ended up in a bar in Nashville, where her sister lives and works for the Devils.
Tag took one look at her, and he knew she'd be the one. He thought she'll only be the one for the night, life had other plans for them.
What would you do if your one night stand had a child dropped of on him the very next morning you woke up in his bed? Well... Elle offered to take care of Chloe, for as long as she's in the city.
These three have tons of issues, his childhood made him wary of relying on anyone, Elle spent her whole life trying to impress her father, Chloe needs to come to terms that her mother abandoned her. When the three of them are together nothing seems to be wrong, it's like everything fades and their little mismatched family is real.
The attraction between them is sizzling, as much as they try to be platonic, that ship has sailed as soon as they first touched each other. Everyone around them knows where this is leading, including Chloe. Elle needs to decide if she fallows her heart, or what she thinks is right, but that would entail giving up everything she's worked for so far. Tag needs to let himself be vulnerable, giving up someone because he's afraid of rejection, is not the right choice, love doesn't come asking if you're ready for it. Which one of them is going to do the first step, I'll let you discover for yourself.

Lincoln, being Tags best friend, was present in the book, and I loved seeing a little bit of him and Jazz, they didn't overshadowed this couple, just a little glimpse into their current life situation.
I can't wait for book three in the series, to see what these Devils are up to next.

I received an ARC in exchange for an onest review.

Elle and Tags book. Tag is Lincoln’s best friend who was the MMC in the first book. Elle is Lucy’s sister, Lucy works for Nashville devils. Elle comes to town to take college classes and spend time with her sister but when her college classes are cancelled she ends up being the baby sitter for Tags niece who was recently dumped on him. She went home with tag for a one night stand and then his niece was dumped on him. He stepped up to be a dad to his niece, Chloe. Her sister Lucy also worked as match maker and claimed there was a leak in her house and Elle couldn’t stay there anymore. Elle ended up staying with tag and Chloe and they all become attached to each other. The catch is Elle is supposed to go back home and take over her dads company. He’s trying to play match maker and hook her up with who he chooses even thought that’s not what she wants. She catches wind that he is choosing his heir to be her match so that they can run the company together and she doesn’t like that one bit. Tag finds out Elle never told her parents about him and Chloe and gets upset and lashes out and kicks her out. She goes home for a New Year’s Eve party where her dad surprises her by announcing her and that man’s engagement that she knew nothing about. Her mom has a talk about it with her telling her to choose happiness. She goes to leave and find tag but he’s there and he made the effort to show up. They choose each other. He tells her he’ll support her and let her leave this lifestyle and she tells him she wants to be a wedding planner and he tells her to start with theirs. Then we are introduced to the next couple who was Remington and Lucy I believe. Lucy is Elle’s sister but I’m not 100% sure who Remington is.

Overall I liked this book. This authors spice is good but some of her wording is odd. I liked the single dad trope. I liked a lot of what this book had to offer. Just some of the wording wasn’t great is what makes it a 4 versus 5 star for me.

I am so happy to be back for round two in the Nashville Devils series!

I fell in love with my Taggy Tag in book one. (Forbidden Devil) Tag is the joker of the group, the boisterous playboy who doesnt commit to more than one night with his women. The thing with these types of chatacters is there's always a deeper meaning to why they're like this, it's so rare that they're just a "wham-bam-thank you ma'am" kinda guy, so you should always expect some kind of deeper rooted emotion, and wow, we definitely got deeper with his story! Melissa kicked my ass with it actually, my poor heart couldn't cope with what he went through as a young boy and a teenager to make him this way. Tag is a beautiful soul, he comes across cocky and so self assured but he isn't at all, he trusts few people and strongly believes that anyone good in his life is going to leave, which means he does not let himself get attached.

He does however get the shock of his life when his adorable, sassy, smart and hilarious niece, Chloe, gets dropped off on his doorstep with not much more than her snake Teddy and a backpack, also to add to this messed up situation, he still has our leading lady, Elle, in his bed from the night before. Talk about bad timing aye!

Elle is amazing. A proper southern belle who has a heart of gold. She's a complex character, one on hand she's so strong willed and on the other hand she is so trapped in a life she clearly doesn't desire. You'd think these polar opposites wouldn't be suited right? They're a match made in heaven! Not only is she exactly what Chloe needs, she's exactly what Tag needs too and it was so amazing to see how everything unfolded!

What can you expect? Well, STEAM! Melissa never fails to deliver all the sexy times 😂 you can expect to laugh your ass off, get up in your feelings too and probably shout at your kindle when things aren't too Peachy.

This hockey romance with a twist on the single dad trope is just off the charts! It's the whole package, the perfect balance between humor and serious, it shows how sometimes people just need a little push outside their comfort zone to get the life they want. Melissa you fricken nailed it, and I cannot wait for more from our sexy Nashville Devil Hockey stars! ❤

Melissa Ivers Nashville Devils bk 02 Untamed Devil

Dirty Little Secret

My reaction to book two in this series is radically different than book one. I absolutely love Taggart "Tag" Harris and Ethel "Elle" Hurst. Their banter is right up there. The dirty talk? Even better. And their overall chemistry is exactly what I wanted.

She stares at the empty glasses like I’m staring at her, like she’s in desperate need of regret, and I’m only happy to oblige us both.
-- Tag Harris

Tag has some very justifiable abandonment issues. Even though I'm not fond of how he may have handled a situation or two, I can appreciate his unwillingness to be someone's dirty little secret.

When it comes to Elle, she's saucy, loving, and funny, except when it comes to her daddy. She feels like she's stuck between a rock and a hard place. That sniveling dweeb Warren proves to be, well, a sniveling dweeb. Too bad she didn't lay him out.

I will say, a 25-year-old lamenting about something being "all she's know her entire adult life" does need a bit of help understanding the concept of perspective. Seven years of the past versus possibly seven decades into the future. Hmmm....🤔 This was one of the few things I took issue with. The rest involved her overbearing father.

The missing element in their story is Chloe. I love Chloe. She's been handed a raw deal. I love how Tag steps up to do right by her. The realism of his self-doubt was palpable. And Elle. She may not have been legally or genetically... encouraged... to help, but her compassion was instrumental in Chloe flourishing.

I absolutely love how Chloe takes Tag to task. A few times. It's possibly the best part of the book. 😆 There should be a second generation just so we can see her tear apart some db as she finds her own HEA. Just sayin'.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators, Chris Chambers and Monica King, were great. I especially loved the different accents Chris brought to the table.

Story: 4.5 stars
Narration: 4 stars

I have loved Tag from the moment he was introduced in book one of this amazing series. I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for Tag. Let me just tell you, his and Elle’s story is one for the ages. You will be talking about this book for a long time to come. It has heart, it has wicked steam, it has amazing hockey players and it has snakes. Wait, snakes, yup! Intrigued, you will just have to read to find out more.

Tag meets Elle through Elle's sister Lucy (who does PR for the hockey team). Tag and Elle immediately hit it off, and sparks fly. Thinking this would only be a one time thing, Tag makes it a night Elle won't forget. When an unexpected turn in Tag's life show's up at his door, his niece, he finds, he might need Elle for more than just one night of steamy fun. He needs her to rescue him and take care of Chloe. But this is a temporary arrangement as Chloe is due back home to run her Dad's company. Get ready to take a wild ride of fun, heart and lots of laughs.

This book had so much heart and steam. I was laughing so hard reading it one minute, crying, no heck, sobbing the next. I absolutely love, love, love Tag so much. I want Tag to be my best friend. He literally is the entire package. He is funny, sweet, romantic and really cares for those he loves.

This is an amazing book with so much heart, love and tons of surprises. I couldn't put this book down, nor did I want to. This book deserves all the stars. Melissa Ivers' writing will pull you in within the first chapter. A must devour read!

Goodness this was a fantastic book full of all the angst in all of the right ways.

Tag is a bachelor who is living his best life, when he is suddenly put into a position to be raising a child all on his own, out of the blue. No warning. No choice.

And, this just so happens to all take place when his one night stand is still in his bedroom waking up from their little rendezvous the prior night.

Just when he is put in such a shocking situation, all things fall into place for him to have a “nanny” for a couple months until he can find a more permanent solution…. But this also leads to his one night stand with the beautiful Elle, being around really often, and though he loves his bachelor life and is NOT looking for a lady to hold him down, he might not get exactly what he wants but so much more….

Read to find out how this story plays out in such an amazing heartfelt way. The 3 main characters (one which is a young girl) just made my heart melt and the wag Tag is with both Elle and Chloe melts my soul.

Such a wonderful story, amazing character development and lots of love being poured into a gorgeous little girl.

Highly highly recommended 5/5⭐️
