Jo has no idea what she’s getting into as she picks up a hitchhiker on a dark country road. Turns out he’s an alien, and he and his friend need help to find a crashed spaceship and escape this planet before a terrible fate catches up with them.
When one of these aliens goes into breeding rut, Jo must decide how far she'll go to help her new friends.
This stand-alone why-choose sci-fi romance takes place in the Urf Omoons universe and it’s meant for adult readers.
There are some small parts of the story that were interesting and the plot/story had potential.
Bipoc main character.
➖ What I disliked:
Almost nonexistent character description of the heroine (appearance.) There are only very vague references to hair color/shade, eye color etc. Nothing about body type/size or height or anything else.
More depth and detail to the heroine was needed.
More backstory was also needed.
The story is only told from the point of view of the female main character. (I prefer multiple POV.)
Thin plot.
Verbose. (Too much written without anything really happening etc.)
Much of the story felt stilted and jumbled.
There are plot-holes/missing information and the story just feels like it is all over the place. (What happened to the Captain of the spaceship? What happened to the other kidnapped/abducted humans ? Etc.)
The romantic build up/emotional connection and also the chemistry was lacking/unconvincing and kind of rushed.
This was a cute little menage novella in the Urf Oomans series. It starts off with Jolene, "Jo", picking up a poor guy walking on the side of the road in a downpour. Jo's act of kindness ends up with her unwittingly being kidnapped by two sweet but somewhat clueless aliens. Enter Steve and Fred. One a blue lion-man and the other a green striped scaled one with a forked tongue. Oh, yeah and Steve can read minds.
Jo decides she's gonna help them to find a way off Earth and back to their lives on planets far away. The hijinks, cultural shocks, and misunderstandings ensue while Jo, Steve and Fred grow closer and closer.
This was short and sweet. I loved both Fred and Steve, they were honorable and caring. Steve especially won me over with his big warm hugs and purring cuddles. I'm so glad they found a way to compromise and make things work, even if it's not what would normally happen. It was still a good HEA for them. This was a nice addition to the series, introducing us to new aliens and setting up the next story nicely.
Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.3 stars. So this was fun. I think this happens probably just as the first book of the ‘Urf Oomans’ series starts with Mandy. Just after Mandy gets sold to Seven probably.
Most of this book takes place on Earth, which is honestly really fun. Seeing the two aliens try to figure out earth things is sort of adorable.
The sex is steamy and hot. Steve and Fred each being a bit possessive and rough in their claiming of Jo.
The relationship aspect is a bit frustrating though. There’s a lot that happens that could’ve been solved with a well placed conversation, and I hate that shit.
Still. I had a good time. And I’m glad I read this. It was a fun little side adventure in the series.
Yet again another book that fails to deliver the fluff and fun of the first two, especially as there's a big lack of major plot in this one that at least the previous book had. Still enjoying the series but it's certainly dipping down imo as far as content quality.
This was an over the top alien romance and such a fun read! Jo was compassionate, often to the point of too-stupid-to-live after she met Steve and Fred. She was understandably terrified when they knocked her out but agreed to take her home to care for her cat. Steve was a sweetie pie and had a lot of self hatred going on, which Jo helped him with. Fred was grouchy AF and tended to have as much difficulty with the Earth culture as Jo had with his terrifying alien culture. I loved that they found a dynamic that worked for them, even if it was unconventional and often difficult. I thought the difficulty they all had was more realistic that most romances like this I’ve seen. Steve’s telepathy added a layer of difficulty but also helped break the tension. It was a silly read and palette cleanser and I enjoyed it!
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: abduction, knocking out, violence, accidental manslaughter, mention of SA (not of any MCs or by them), envenomating, blood, discussion of degradation and captivity of side character, threat of death, mention of racism, mention of death of family member and accompanying grief and depression, mention of parental abandonment and neglect, involuntary mind reading, dubcon (sex necessary as medical treatment)
This novella is set in the "Urf Oomons" universe but can absolutely be read as a standalone. It seems to be set before the main series starts.
When Jo picks up a hitchhiker she ends up being kidnapped by two aliens. These aliens are so pathetic that she decides to helping them to find back home, and even decides to accompany them.
I thought this novella was written first and the author was still practicing, but it was published later, so maybe she just had a sloppy editor. One of the aliens appeared out of thin air, and I never understood why they needed to kidnap Jo at all. Also the romantic relationship between Jo and Frank (the not-lion-guy) felt somewhat forced.
As all the other stories I read of the "Urf Oomons" (alien phonetic for "Earth Humans") series it was a fast paced easy read with low angst and interesting and likeable characters. Also as all the other stories the alien technologies are somewhat improbable.
The story is told mainly through inner dialogue and conversation, all from the point of view of the female main. It started out well enough but then fell into a rut where it seemed the author was striving more for a word count than to tell a story. Also, and maybe it comes after I stopped reading, but there is no description of the female main character. There is potential here, but it should be reworked into a tighter story that doesn’t drag so.

3.5 stars. Jolene, the female human lead, feels pity for a male on the side of the road in the rain. She picks him up to take him to town, then he abducts her. When she awakens, Fred has been joined by Steve, the two male alien leads, and they advise they’re stranded and trying to leave earth. What follows is their hijinks as they attempt to find a way off earth. Fred goes into rut, Steve is a telepath, and humans are officially recognised as sentient people…
This novella is female lead POV, and an interesting first contact story. It sometimes has jumps in continuity and coherence and, whilst I enjoyed it, some of those jumps were strange.

I really enjoyed this MFM sci-fi romance! The heroine was spunky and optimistic, and both heroes were sympathetic in different ways. I thought the author set up the romance in an interesting way, with the heroine immediately falling for one hero and taking most of the novel to fall for the other. There were high stakes throughout this novel, and really interesting culture clashes and political maneuvering. The world building was interesting, with some very different cultural practices. I enjoyed this novella FAR more than the third book in this series, The Spider Alien’s Bite. Highly recommended!. Well, I feel super satisfied and ready for whatever Bebe wants to throw my way. This book was so much fun! There was action, suspense, spice, and a really sweet romance that captured my wee little heart. Loved the FMC she was just such a trooper through out the book. I don’t want to give anything away but there’s dubious consent and it might make you feel a little icky but trust in Bebe she will lead you to a HEA.
I can’t wait to see what happens to more Urf humans!!!. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Aliens stranded on earth! Jo has NO IDEA what she's getting herself into when she picks up a hitchhiker on a rainy night. I mean, aliens and breeding ruts and telepathy are a little outside her wheelhouse until she gets introduced to Steve and Fred.
Then she ALLLLL about those things.
Not by choice, at first (because it takes a while for the idea of aliens on earth to sink in), but she gets on board pretty quickly. And she does what she has to do to keep her aliens alive and, well, sane. And, yeah, maybe there's a little squabbling (between the aliens) over which of them are hers, but WHY CHOOSE, amirite?
Two aliens. A lady who ends up being more open-minded than she expected herself to be. An unexpected rescue mission. Good stuff all around!
Although a few bad things happen, Earthers is mostly a fun romp with a couple of great non-humans and an hilarious Southern woman. Reading the other Urf Oomons books is not necessary to follow the story in Earthers, but I recommend reading them for the fun of it.
I loved this book! It was fun, sweet, and sexy. I loved the characters. Jolene, Fred, and Steve had such wonderful chemistry and dynamic. The Urf Oomons series always brought a smile to my face, and this new addition was no exception. 4 stars.
I enjoyed reading this book, there was steamy bedroom scenes, and wonderful Alien peens** This was my first book in this genre. I will read this type of book again. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I came across this book in a suggested list from Kindle Unlimited. I am glad a selected it. It is a quick read, 90-something pages, but enjoyable. The story is well written and the plot flows nicely. It’s not a cliffhanger, however it could be continued or made into a series. I will be looking for other books by Ms. Harper.
Well, that was surprising! I loved this so much. I never like reverse harem or ménage books. I didn’t know that was in this book or I wouldn’t have tried it. But no regrets! In this case, it just made sense. I adored both Fred and Steve so much. This was funny and sweet. And smutty in all the best ways.
This one, the 4th in the series, was a little different than the first three. Occurring mostly on Earth, with a pair of aliens named Fred and Steve (seriously, no other designations are ever given) who are trying to get back to space. There are some odd plot jumps, usually occurring when the human, Jo, is unconscious. These two aliens, one more feline and the other more reptile, are more humanoid than other aliens in the series. They’re also friends, and both attracted to Jo. This works into a somewhat awkward tropple when Fred must mate or die but Jo wants Steve instead. I loved how Steve stepped in to help, getting Jo ready for Fred. Hot. Also, very caring and understanding. I think a lot of the miscommunication and couple angst could have been avoided if Steve had participated more right from the beginning, but he and Fred both backed off, forcing Jo to choose instead of agreeing to share… and you know how humans are. The last thing we need is time left on our own to think. That’s when things get really complicated…
An exceptional Why Choose? stand-alone in the Urf Oomans world, comedic and sexy as always. I absolutely loved Fred and Steve, their bumbling banter and Jolene was a delight. This was a cute, fast-paced read, with all the heart you come to expect from Bebe Harper--and jam packed with sexy times as well! I absolutely loved it! **I received an ARC from BookSprout but all opinions are my own**
Ok this was AWESOME. I had just recently finished reading the first 3 books so I just had to dive right into this one. I just love Steve and Fred. Jolene is one lucky woman!! Interesting drama, mild danger, mention of Bieber in a dragons costume, hot alien 'activities'. This book is a delightful romp. I just want sooo many more stories from this universe. And I'm jealous of yet another book character hahahaha.
Two for one in this cute and funny short!! Absolutely hilarious how Jolene reacts to aliens. Really liked that it wasn’t insta love. Fred and Steve were great! Enjoyed the world building. Wish we would have gotten some more info about side characters and what was going on… but hopefully there will be another book to address!! Of course the smexy scenes were sooo hot!!🔥🔥 Gotta love every book in this series!!
The heroine doesn’t have to choose between the two in this book and I loved both Fred and Steve but especially Steve. Purring is quickly becoming one of my fave traits in fictional men (humans and alien men alike 😅)
The spice in this book was reallllly good too 👀 🥵
Overall it was a fun scifi adventure with great spice and I’m excited to read more of her books.
This was a fun read full of action, suspense, cultural issues and a sweet & steamy romance. Their path wasn't overly smooth but I enjoyed following it along, in this well detailed world, to see how things would unfold. It's the first book of the series I've read but I found it entertaining and am looking forward to checking out the previous books in the series. Good fun!
"What an incredible story!! I'm so in love with the author writing style and how she develop her characters. It was funny, sweet but also weird in the most unique Bebe Harper's sole lol. The ending was great thought I never expected it and huge shout out for the 'sharing is caring, right?' Plus h^t h^t and more HOOOT!"
At first I was hesitant but quickly got pulled into the story. I really like the dynamics of the threesone. It was a mix of predictable and not. So I wasn't bored but at the same time, not awestruck in a good or bad way.
Not a huge fan of this one. Too much monologuing virtues and political correctness ... Felt like I was being lectured. Also, aliens didn't feel like aliens when they were lecturing that people should respect their culture. Etc. etc. Furthermore, the chemistry felt forced and unnatural between the characters. Overall not my favorite read (glad I didn't purchase this one like the other ones)
