Dzejniece un rakstniece. Dzimusi 1976. gadā Rīgā. Beigusi Rīgas Centra humanitāro ģimnāziju (1993), studējusi literatūras teoriju, vēsturi un kritiku, kā arī teātra, kino un TV dramaturģiju Latvijas Kultūras akadēmijā.
Saņēmusi Klāva Elsberga prēmiju (1999), Annas Dagdas fonda balva (2004), Ojāra Vācieša prēmiju (2004, 2012), Dzejas dienu balvu (2007) un žurnāla "Latvju Teksti" balvu (2012). 2012. gadā saņēmusi Prozas lasījumu galveno balvu par stāstu "Piena ceļi". Kā arī Literatūras gada balvu par dzejoļu krājumu "Vai otrā grupa mani dzird?". Prozā debitējusi ar romānu "Stikli", kuram 2019. gadā sekoja "Skaistās". Ir sarakstījusi arī detektīvromānu "Neredzamie" un izdevniecībā Mansards izdots stāstu krājums "Piena ceļi".
Latvijas literatūras gada balva par prozas darbu "Skaistās".
Jaunākais darbs ir romāns sērijā "Es esmu" (Dienas grāmata) par rakstnieci Ivandi Kaiju - Rakstītāja. par to rakstniece saņēmusi Kilograms kultūras balvu literatūras kategorijā, kā arī nomināciju Latvijas literatūras gada balvai prozas kategorijā.
Dzejoļu krājums "Nakts" iznācis 2021. gadā.

Este pequeño libro me lo empecé y me lo acabé hoy, la reseña será rápida también.

Inga aborda unos temas que me interesan mucho, y siento que tiene mucho que contar, y que me ha podido llegar en ciertas partes.

Sin embargo, me da la sensación de que la traducción al castellano ha restado una barbaridad, y ha supuesto una barrera para mí. Primeramente siento que había cosas mal redactadas que me sacaban un poco del foco de lectura, y además mientras leía me generaba un poco de desconfianza en plan de, de verdad así lo estaría expresando la autora?

La edición también tiene algunos fallitos que me sacaban un poco de lo que estaba leyendo, así que ha sido un poco cúmulo.

Aún así le doy un 3 porque me parece interesante lo que tiene que contar esta autora, y me apetecería leerla en mejores traducciones. pero bueno cosas de ponerse a leer a una muchacha de Letonia yokese.

I was lucky enough to go to the launch of this in Riga, Latvia. Gaile is one of the leading Latvian poets and her work here is translated by Ieva Lešinska, who used to live and work in the US. As both Latvian and English translations are included, you can contrast and compare, and the result is an exciting (and occasionally bleak) collection which investigates 21st century life for Latvia and its people. It’s wonderful.
