Katama Bay #8

Summertime Rapture

Rate this book
It's another summer on Martha's Vineyard. It’s one the Remington Women won't forget.

Elsa's middle child, Mallory, is often described as the quietest and sweetest of all the Remington Women— just as happy go lucky as Elsa, agreeable as Janine, and punctual as Nancy.

Needless to say, it never pleased Mallory to be overlooked. But after her accidental pregnancy with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Lucas, plus the death of her father and grandfather in the span of a year, she's had very little time to ask herself that pivotal Who. Am. I?

At twenty-five, Mallory is ready to find out. And unfortunately for her family members, she can't exactly do that while working as a full-time secretary at the Katama Lodge and Wellness Spa.

She wants a career. She wants real love— the kind that makes you weak in the knees and ready to become the best version of yourself.

Part of her wants to do all this to show her son what she's made of. But another part wants to do it purely for herself.

Meanwhile, summer is in full-swing, bringing with it sailing competitions, food festivals, concerts, and a stream of beautiful celebrities and incredibly wealthy tourists.

Meanwhile, Elsa's new love, widower Bruce Holland, interests Mallory as he digs into a local criminal case, one that sweeps the island and creates some juicy gossip. As Bruce and Mallory begin the case— Bruce finds himself aligning his vision of his future with the woman who's finally made him forget his sorrow, Elsa Remington.

Does Mallory have it in her to help Bruce with the criminal case? Does she dare ask for something more than what she has? And will Lucas ever be enough for her— or is there a whole lot of love out there waiting?

Dive into book eight of The Katama Bay Series. A heartwarming journey of motherly and sisterly love, healing, and promise for better days, all on the island of Martha's Vineyard, with its gorgeous ocean views, its endless summer days, and its bubbly cast of islanders.

I've been itching to know more about Mallory and her story - and here it is. Mallory is single mom (basically) to Zach and she's so young. Trying to figure out her place in the family as well as the world. With lots of strong women to look up to - Mallory isn't that trusting in herself and feels like she's just going through the motions. Well after a robbery that isn't really what it seems - Mallory finds herself caught between a new guy, her family's feelings about him, and the law - which starts her on a path towards school and her future. Really enjoyed seeing Mallory's inner strength come through - and can't wait to see what plans await her in the next book.

Catching up with the Katama Bay folks. Mallory struggles with co-parenting and her future. After meeting a new friend, things change for her family. Elsa and Bruce move on with future plans. As a little mystery is solved, Mallory finds direction of her future with a special friend. Another great story. I received this arc for an honest opinion.

Summertime Rapture is just a great book. I like the mystery aspect in the story. Equally good was the growth seen in Mallory's character and the hope of true love. I enjoy the "love" connections between people of all ages. This was simply a wonderful story where depression is replaced with optimism.

Great addition to the Katama Bay Series. The family continues to offer love and support to help the family members overcome adversities and problems.

Single mom, Maggie makes decisions about her future both personally and professionally. She definitely can count on the support of the strong women in her family

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion

Adventure On The Island

Wow! What's island life without adventure by the sea. This family is growing in so many directions. Best of all realizing how much they care about each other.
