Mollie and Scooter McGhie anchor their sailboat in a marina in the great seaside town of Coconut Cove, Florida. The couple is almost ready to make a long-awaited voyage to the Bahamas with their cat, Mrs. Mojo. Scooter meets Fletcher Tolliver who offers him a fantastic investment opportunity and a free cruise to tell him him and Mollie all about it!

The McGhie’s join Fletcher, his business partner, his wife, Sylvia, some of their family members, and a handful of other potential investors on a cruise I called, Dead Man’s Cruise! The plot provides plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, and the odd assortment of personalities on board are really entertaining. I enjoyed watching the sometimes boring Scooter mature before Mollie’s eyes and step forward to help her sleuth. Author Ellen Jacobson pens a solid cozy mystery that held my attention from beginning to end. The cruise passengers provide a huge pool of possible suspects brimming over with motives, alibis, and opportunities supported by nifty clues offered throughout this very enjoyable story.

Mollie and every single one of her quirkiness traits makes this a read to snuggle up with and enjoy like a rich piece of chocolate.

Mollie would love to lock her husband into a closet and not let him out until he gives up on his latest investment idea, but when a piece of unexpected news dribbles in, her curiosity peeks. To see what's going on, she agrees to accompany her husband on an informational cruise. The two witness the company's head plummet to his death from the upper-deck, and while they can't see everything, it's obvious to them that he was pushed. Everyone else, however, marks it off as an accident. Not ready to let it go and the murderer get away, Mollie is on the case, and it might be her toughest yet.

Mollie is a character after my own heart. So, I'm sad to see her go after this last novel, but the author did do a great job at sending her off. Things change a bit in this last book as she finally gets a bit more support from a very unexpected source. I enjoyed the relationship arc with her husband in this one...and was surprised at how much calmer Miss Moto has become. Well, for her, anyway. A few favorite characters did fall into the background, while others got a little more time than they have before. Not everything in everyone's lives was rounded off, but that's also good so. It was satisfying and didn't feel cliche or fake in the slightest.

This mystery twists all over the place. There are some fun, new suspects and unexpected blockades, which Mollie needs to overcome. While she's trying to piece together clues, so many other odd circumstances get in the way...and this is one of the reasons I've enjoyed this series so much. Life is quirky and holds tons of ridiculous, unexpected things, and Mollie takes all of it in with a lovely finesse. Especially when it involves a lot of chocolate.

Another fantastic read by the chocolate loving Mollie (and author Ellen, right ?!)

“Overboard on the Ocean” is next in the Mollie McGhie series (I love this cover best of all!), and it’s a great story full of quirky characters, comedy that makes you LOL, twists and turns of motives (just who done it?) all in true Mollie fashion!!

Being cruisers ourselves, I totally loved all the sailing tidbits, not only because I could relate, but because author Ellen intermingled them beautifully into the storyline - from using maritime law to solve a murder, being on a cruise, to stocking your first aid kit - with chocolate!

My favourite part of this book was that Mollie’s husband Scooter, usually a quieter character, stepped up to the plate this time: supporting Mollie when she captain’s the boat to Destiny Key and back to plan/attend a wedding shower, but even more so when he gets involved in helping her figure out who done it!

The biggest shocker when I reached the end, was not only who done it - but that this is going to be the last book in the series (well possibly a holiday novella), sigh !!

Read the whole series - they’re awesome!

Mollie's husband, Scooter is considering investing in a business deal Mollie isn't keen on. They take a cruise to the Bahamas which is as much business as pleasure, but turns into a murder mystery. This time, Scooter is by Mollie's side investigating foul play, and she has to plan a batchelorette party. There isn't enough chocolate for this. Will Mollie be able to figure out who the killer is or will they get away with murder?

Another fantastic book in the hilarious cozy mystery series, Mollie McGhie Cozy Sailing Mysteries. Mollie is a fabulous character, so easy to relate to, and I love how she wraps her mind around these mysteries. Unwrapping chocolate is more a thing we both like, but solving murders is fun too! I was surprised to see Scooter helping her out this time. He's got a sharp mind, and I loved the twist as to why he was helping when he used to get faint at even the mention of blood. We have some new characters, Fletcher and his family, and I was busy trying to untangle everything right through to the end. I laughed and gasped and couldn't stop reading. A must read for all cozy mystery lovers!

This, I fear, is the end. Except for the mention of a holiday short.

I've really enjoyed this series and really liked this latest installment. For me, this one wasn't as LOL as the previous books, but it was still fun and an easy escape from reality. There were some subtle evolutions to certain characters that I think took away some of the qualities that I've come to accept in certain characters, but in the end, I understand that characters, like real people, do grow, change, and evolve. Plus, none of the changes were bad, just a little different.

As Mollie sets out to keep Scooter from making a bad investment, Scooter jumps into the P.I. game with Mollie to solve a case of murder. While this one had some interesting twists, one thing remained the same. Mrs. Moto is still the cutest book character with the most charisma.

Don't want to give too much away, but just know, this one had me wanting more, only to discover this may be the last in the series. Totally worth reading.

Highly recommended to fans of humor and cozy mysteries.

This book was so much fun to read. Mollie, of course, is her usual crazy self, trying to solve another murder, despite the authorities claiming it was an accident. This time, her husband Scooter gets involved. For that and other reasons, I gained a new respect for him. I was saddened, though, to find out this is the last Mollie McGhie novel. Author Jacobson assures readers, Mollie and Scooter will be back at Christmas time. Until then, if you're looking for a funny cozy mystery, check out Overboard on the Ocean.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Ellen's love of boats and the water shines through all her books as this food loving investigator and her amazing cat investigate another murder. I think this is my favourite one of the series so far. I love how much Mollie has embraced liveaboard life and I love that she gets pleasure from things like fiddling with the diesel engine. Another great cast of characters, lots of food and a healthy dose of romance keep this story flowing.

I've read several books written by Ellen Jacobson; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the sixth book in the Mollie McGhie Cozy Sailing Mystery Series; she has written a good book; story line was interesting; while on a cruise someone falls overboard leaving Mollie to investigate if it was a accident or murder.

So much fun!!
Mollie shines again (of course!) as she wades through the ocean of clues. I loved Scooter's role in this mystery - he totally shines throughout the book.
Cozy mysteries rely on smart sleuthing, lots of twists and turns, quirky characters, and a sneaky villain. This book has it all and more.
A terrific read!

This was so so good!! I’m very sad there may only be one more book in the series. So many possibilities with Mollie, Scooter and Mrs. Moto. But I guess all great things have to come to an end. I look forward to the Christmas one!!!! Happy Reading:)
