Short and Sweet

The opening scene pulled me immediately. I remember getting the why are you single questions and stares.
The author did a good job of making most of the characters likable. I loved  Emani from the start and disliked Terrance. I loved the friendships displayed. It showed how frustrating it can be when your friend is making a horrible mistake in your eyes. But you can't make relationship decisions for adults. The idea of meeting someone while on vacation and forming a bond is very romantic. When the vacation is over what do you do? Do you try to pursue it or just consider it a fling and go on with your life? The story was sweet and also witty. I look forward to reading longer works from this author.

This was really good...

This was a book of the month recommendation from one of my reading groups and I'm so glad I decided to read it.
I'm not gonna lie, I almost always read books by women authors because outside of the men authors that I grew up reading, the stories aren't relatable. So not the case this time around. This was my first read by King Marlon McCaulsky and he did not disappoint.
Chance & Emani love story was so relatable, from their trust being broken by their exes to the insecurities of the unknown in a new relationship. Kamani visiting her cousin Ava for holiday to clear her mind and just enjoy herself was needed. The moment Chance and Emani laid eyes on each other their souls attached. That love bug hit them hard and fast and, neither of them saw that coming. That usually happens when two adults go in with the "go with the flow cause I've been hurt" mentality. Now Chance pissed me of allowing Derrick ol hating a** put that doubt in his head when it was time for Emani to return home from holiday🙄😡. Her getting back with her ex Terrance ol community🍆making babies while y'all together a** wasn't a surprise. That's what we as men and women do, go back to the familiar for the sake of saying I have someone cause we're running from our true feelings for the one we really want. My boy Chance popping up for her birthday and giving her all that amazing🍆 was everything😏.
Malieka and Amil were the best bestie and sister ever. They were not here for that rasshole Terrance trying to slick talk his way back into Emani's heart with that fake a** proposal😂.
In the end loved prevailed and Chance & Emani got their HEA💕
This story was so relatable cause we do tend to gives second chances to those who didn't even deserve to get past that first hookup etc. But we are so quick to throw in the towel for the one who freely gives without us having to ask, all because they made a minor mistake out of fear, etc.
Definitely a must read💕

When the holiday comes to an end will things for Emani & Chance remain the same?

Like watching a Lifetime holiday movie… “I Wanna Be Your Lover: An Atlanta Tale via England” is a feel-good, pager-turner with a humorous flair. The characters are quirky, fun, lovable, and some not so lovable but Malieka was my absolute favorite! Everybody needs a sassy, no-nonsense, tell it like it is Malieka in their life.

The British and Jamaican inclusions added another dimension to the storyline that flowed effortlessly. And although the pictures at the end of each chapter are a unique touch, for me I found them to be a bit off-putting to the descriptions of the characters.

Overall, B👏🏽R👏🏽A👏🏽V👏🏽O‼️ Marlon Mccaulsky pens relatable situations with a cinematic feel. If you’re looking for a good novella that’ll give you the warm fuzzies… I recommend you 1-Click NOW, grab a settee and read what the hype is about🤗

Predictable Love Story

I Wanna Be Your Lover: An Atlanta Love Tale Via England by Marlon McCaulsky was selected as our monthly read for our bookclub. This novella had all the makings of a good love story and once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the English words and found myself reading with British English dialect. McCaulsky has a smooth and easy approach to his writing that I felt like I was watching a Lifetime movie.

My only criticism (which was significant to me) were the pictures that were placed throughout book at each chapter. I felt that pictures didn’t depict the author’s description in book, were unnecessary and actually took away from book.

This is my first time reading a book from Marlon McCaulsky but look forward to reading and seeing more of his work.

I give I Wanna Be Your Lover: An Atlanta Love Tale Via England 4 stars.

A Love Story That Crosses Oceans and Hearts

From Atlanta streets to English skies,
This tale of love both bold and wise,
Marlon pens a journey deep—
Where passion wakes and secrets sleep.

The chemistry sizzles, the dialogue flows,
With characters chasing what the heart knows.
Though I wished for a touch more depth at times,
The rhythm still sang like smooth R&B lines.

A soulful ride with global flair—
Romance and growth found everywhere.
A beautiful read that lingers long,
Like a favorite verse in a quiet love song.

I enjoyed this read. I’m a true lover of good love story and this was a fun easy read. Although the plot was easy to realize early on, it still made for a great entertaining read. Some adjustments in editing are needed but it didn’t take away from the love story.

First let me say if you, have not read a book by Marlon then you are missing out. From the start I was crying the Wedding like really leave Emani alone. I love how Marlon talk about the differences between US and Europe. As I was reading learning about Europe was eye open with some of the difference like Holiday for them is a Vacation. My favorite Character was Malieka everyone needs a friend like her. And oh Ava love her what a strong Woman I love how close her and Emani were. I also thought Chance and John were cool, but that Reggie and Derek this two were straight up Bugaboo's I can't with them. This book gave everything I needed Drama, laughter, Surprises, and most of all Love P.S. you could wrote me in the book to take care of Terrence.

I've enjoyed reading I Wanna Be Your Lover By Marlon Mccaulsky with EyeCU Reading & Chatting this month!

First let me say I loved how the author showcased his diversity by telling the story from several different perspectives, taking on the roles of men and women from not only America but England as well. These were corky characters, some with cheeky personalities that I found hilarious. I learned quite a bit as well. Learning while reading is always a plus for me. The author also referenced current events and thoughts around those touchy subjects. I was so pleased with the ending. This was definitely a cute love story. Mental Chatter Musings recommends this short but sweet read!

A Quick Cute Love story

This was an adorable novella. Laced with drama, humor, and some seggs (😁). Definitely read like it was intended for film. I envision totally different people for the roles of the main characters, but our author provided his own visuals throughout the book as well. If the hallmark channel published books, this would it be in their repertoire.

I Wanna Be Your Lover was, my first read by this author. The book was a little slow for me at first but, I stuck with it and finished the book. The author added pictures which, for me added nothing to this read. This story was short but, to the point. If you like quick romance reads then grab this book.

This was an entertaining, easy read. I was drawn in by the characters and how relatable they were. Love stories always win me over. It was a bit predictable but still a Good story.

I read this story in one setting. This quick read kept me entertained from page 1. The storyline and character development will have you rooting for the main characters from their first interaction. Marlon’s pen will have you searching for more books from him. I can’t wait to see what he has in store next.

took a Chance on love

Everybody need a Maleika as a friend. I hate the Chance let a sore loser like Derrick put doubt in his mind but I’m glad it worked.

I really enjoyed this love story written by this author. The author included visuals of the characters which was very distracting to this reading. I was also expecting some more of the characters British ways. Looking forward to see more works created by Marlon.

Great Love Story

You don't have to know someone for years in order to fall in love with them.Emani found this out when she went on Holiday in Atlanta and meet and feel in love with Chance, their love story is one that some people would say is just a fling, but it happens more then we know. The story had a good flow to it from one chapter to the next, and I enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading more from Mr. McCaulsky
