Coveted by the Centaur #1

The Centaur in My Valley

Rate this book
My mother always said I shouldn’t have married him and when I discover my lazy scoundrel of a husband plotting with his lover to rob me blind, then kill me, I find out why.

So I run.

And that’s when they find me.

Leering raiders, my ‘husband’ abandons me to their tender mercies when the true master of the forest comes upon us.

Tall, muscular beyond belief, and possessing a deadly grace, he scatters the criminals who threaten to do everything my husband had planned.

I fall to my knees, babbling my gratitude... only to discover the cost of his aid.

I must become his for a moon month. My body shivers, but is that in fear or anticipation? Because I’ve heard stories about the women who succumb to the beasts of the forest, and I’m determined that I won’t be the one to join them.

The Centaur in My Valley is a sweet and spicy story set in the Coveted prey universe.

I don't want to reflect too closely on what kind of person gets turned on by the vision of a Centaur and the sound of his precum going 'splat' on the ground when he's excited. Cos let me tell you, it was me and this will scar me for a very long time...🫣

“Of course. I’m yours, sweet little human. You are not eating and sleeping poorly. My balls are fit to bursting, and my cock weeps all the time. It only wants to serve you.”

Anyways, I digress. Firstly The Centaur in My Valley wasn't as good as the first book but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Possibly because I had already overcome the shock of a human female behind 'saddled' by a Centaur. Admittedly my vagina still throbs at the thought of it. However Centaurs still intrigue me. *clears throat*

Our heroine, Hope is having a moment after she learns that her useless husband is unfaithful. When she is taken by a group of ruffians, it is Calden that comes to her rescue. However as old laws stand, this makes one indebted to a Centaur for the whole moon month in gratitude.

As Hope finds herself in the home of a Centaur and begins learning their ways, she has this terrible feeling she may never want to leave. Fortunately Calden is a patient but firm lover and has many creative ways of bringing relief to Hope's evolving libido.

"Do you need to get off, love? Is that what the problem is? I saw the mess you left on the table. Such a filthy lass, aroused by my rough handling of her tits, probably thinking about me touching your slick pussy or imagining rubbing yourself all over my coat like you did last time, using me for your pleasure."

This was a very light read with a whole lot of kinky moments. With a little miscommunication, not too much drama, it wasn't long before these two were saturating the pages. 😳

I liked the previous centaur book in this series, but this book was a little much. The h was consistently making bad decisions based on faulty information. It was to move the story along, but wow did she get annoying.

There were some things left out of the story that has kept me up at night.

1. Why was it special that she was we never learn what that was all about.
2. What the heck is the BROTH? Whyyy aren't we told?
3. What happened to the It was put in, but never removed. Did she wear it around the village making a new fashion statement?

The absolute BEST part of this book was the running commentary by my brave and fearless BR, Twinkle.

hi if I know you IRL walk away right now.

....

okay this book has per the author "mutual feeding" and that has a lot to do with 🍆🌊 and 🍼 so please proceed with caution if that is not for you. as another reviewer noted "wet floor signs must be needed in this village."

Also, the female heroine's body is affected so much by the centaur man's very being and pheromones that her body begins to change/adapt to meet the ahem demands of his horsey 🍆

Anyway, this is a book I read now leave me to my peace.

Content notes: kidnapping, noncon/dubcon, violence, bdsm, power imbalance, monsterously sized sex organ, body horror, violence/war

The Centaur In My Forrest, The Centaur In My Valley... If the third book isn't called The Centaur In My Cave I'm gonna riot 😂

I am once again asking you to burn my Kindle when I die though...seriously.

This was pure, horny smut that was somehow still really sweet.

Sure it had some issues but overall it was exactly what I wanted and that was apparently a lot of 💦💦💦💦 splattering fluids 🤷 seriously though, this village must have loads of those "caution: wet floor" signs because the way these folks leak bodily fluids it's gotta be a liability.

Jokes aside, this was a super sweet, steamy read and I want a story about the "bad" Centaurs like asap.

I have a love/hate relationship with this book.

Love: the smutty goodness! Only LV Lane does smut like this! I love the world building and the centaurs. I really liked that characters from the Centaur in my Forest were in this book.

Hate: the heroine was TSTL! God I hated her! She was beyond annoying, made dumba$$ decisions, and was constantly weeping. The other thing I hated about this book was the overuse of the word “tummy”. Can we just agree that “tummy” should not, under ANY circumstances, be used in a smut book?! It was used FOURTEEN times in this very short book! I shuddered every time I came across it! I’m sorry… but it’s just wrong to talk about your “tummy” being full… AFTER GUZZLING COME!!!!!*shudder* 🥴🥴🥴🥴

I will always find an extra hour in my day for a L V Lane book... and I 100% appreciate these short, smutty centaur books that I can read with one hand.
That I... have to read... with one hand. O.o
Holeeee smokes. I'll take a centaur in my forest, my valley, my fjord, my glen, my anywhere.
Again, props for unique "props" to make the scenes easy to visualize.

A devoted centaur warrior who lays waste to his enemies. A young woman stuck in a loveless marriage, betrayed by the man who swore to love and protect her. Then one day everything changes when Calden rescues our poor maiden and slays those who dare try to defile what is rightfully his. Centaur in my Valley checked all of my boxes - an utterly devoted and imposingly large, domineering warrior who loves to "correct" his sweet curvaceous Hope. I couldn't get enough of this pair! Not to mention that I am salivating for Grim's story! I need to know more of this herd.

Ever since I read The Centaur in My Forest I have been waiting for another Centaur book and this did not disappoint at all. It was everything I wanted and more.

The story of Hope and Calden is a little more complex compared to Axton and his mate. Hope is a curvy girl married to a horrible man who doesn’t care about what happens to her when Calden saves her from a horrible situation then takes her back to the village where she is in debt to him for a whole moon month.

Hope is unable to process her feelings about her beautiful Centaur and instead of voicing them with him she runs from them. After a horrible week for them both and finally figuring out why Hope did what she did they voice their feelings 😍

This is such an emotional sweet book I loved both of the characters and the story 🖤 As usual with a Liv Lane book it is extremely spicy 🥵

The ending was amazing and I’m glad this had that beautiful HEA 😍 I just need more Centaurs, they have become a favourite of mine to read.

Fantastic read with a duel POV.

Another brilliant installment

I look forward to Lane's simple yet evocative writing style. The perfect read for a break between heavier novels and deliciously spicy. Just good fun all around.

This is another entry in the author's series about Centaurs and the Omega-like women they grow to love. Though the MC's relationship is a standalone, characters from The Centaur in My Forest: Sweet Monsters do appear. Note: Unlike the other entry, this one contains paranormal aspects; because many of them are unresolved here, I suspect the author will feature them again in another story.

Although there is action, I consider this erotica with little story since everyone is ruled by their hormones and nothing else. If that's what you're in the mood for, then you might enjoy this. Calden does treat Hope well and the worldbuilding is detailed enough to give us a sense of time and space (the differences between the two herds are, in fact, the most interesting part of the story). I doubt I'll read another entry, though: pet play is not my kink; I find it boring that these human women simply accept everything that happens to them; Hope's character is incoherent; and I defy anyone to tell the three couples apart.

3 stars. Cruelty to animals is a hard limit for me; I don't care what they've done.

always love a good centaur story

As usual, Liv writes them sweet and hot. Love the world she’d carefully created over the last 11 books. The characters are engaging and the s&x is hot and fun. Liv was my first smexy author and I’ll be a fan until she stops. When she does stop I’ll go into mourning and then re read everything again and again.

I read The Centaur In My Forest first and fell in
love with the Centaurs and their villiage community.
In Centaur In My Valley, Hope, a human woman is
trying to escape her husband and his lover who are
planning her death when she's set upon by a band
of ruffians. Calden, a Centaur saves her and for that,
Hope owes him a moon month of servitude. Calden
is a sweetheart and treats Hope well as they learn to
love each other and Hope learns how to treat her
Centaur right. The way a Centaur makes love to a
human is described in detail and it's Hot!!! 🔥🔥🔥

I really enjoy this author's books and this series has never disappointed. I seriously enjoy how this author can take her characters on such a great adventure while also giving them love. There is usually some kind of action going on, some major steaminess and high heat, and some romance. You end up with a great story that you can't put down. And of course you gotta love that this is about Centaur's! I also love that you get to see characters from the other Centaur book! Highly recommend!

DNF @ 15%, Ch 5

I was intrigued by concept as don't see Centaur romance often, so thought give a try and it started of okay. Yet sadly the FMC is very damsel in distress vibes, understandably but think be same in relationship.

Seems to just follow others... Also her one passion and talent regarding her role as seamstress looks like shall have zero relevance or use in story. As centaurs don't bother with clothing and the humans among them don't wear much either.

I feel for her situation, but the instantly lusting over centaur doesn't make her much better then her husband. She openly admits to not being in love with or wanting him, so I don't know why she so shocked/disappointed by his actions.

The synopsis was misleading too, as his not so much the one plotting as much as it is the woman his cheating with. He seems to go along, but then does take it back and like his running away was understandable. How was he suppose to go up against the bunch of guys with no weapon it would have just had him killed & her in the same situation. 🤷

Anyway Calden is no better with the full on lusting after she has just been assaulted, then she owes him/has to stay with him a month because he helped her. So like how is he any better...

I think this just case of not for me in so many ways, I'm not invested enough to continue.

This centaur romance was delightful! The world building of the different tribes that either follow the Goddess or don’t was fascinating. There was plenty of action and danger and even some political intrigue to keep the stakes high and the pacing quick. SO much plot happened in this little book! I loved it. The heroine was deeply sympathetic, and the hero was a swoony protective alpha type. The drama around their poor communication was a little tiresome, but it didn’t go on too long, and there were enough other exciting things happening that it was not too much of a drag. This novel was HAWT, too. All I have to say there is buckle up, reader! I cannot wait to see a particular centaur tribe learn some valuable lessons on how to treat a lady in the next book. I highly recommend this novel, and I cannot wait to read the next centaur romance by this author.

I received a free copy of this book, and I am voluntarily writing this review.

A curvy heroine
Some major size differences (in more ways than one)
Milking, breeding, spanking, kidnapping, all the drama!
Need I say more?

This has got to be my favorite centaur book to date and also one of my favorites by LV Lane. I feel as though I'm a little biased, because I devour anything she writes! The Centaur in My Valley is no different!

From that very first page you find yourself standing outside the heroines house listening to the conversation between her husband and his lover. I felt a little murdery... not going to lie and then when he shows up later on, he's a complete scoundrel and wimp! But I won't ruin that scene for you!

I was so fully immersed in this story that it almost felt like a fairytale. If you prefer your fairytales with monsters, steam, all the spice, a little spanking, etc. You get the idea.

Slower burn, higher angst, so much sexual tension.... holy cow off the charts. Another amazing story. Now, we just need another one, LV! ;)

This was a bit better than The Centaur in My Forest but not much. Hope, the heroine, was annoying as all get out. She had so many stupid reactions and stupid assumptions. I know that had to lead to the conflict and all that but even a stupid person has more sense than that.

Still not sure the logistics of saddling either, I just can't picture it in my head. The centaurs are described as big but some of things they do don't seem possible. (not talking about sex just the centaur reaching down and being able to touch the girl when she's down there. -- I'm thinking WAY to much about this.)

I have downloaded the next book in the series, we'll see if this next one is better.

Listen, I can only imagine how hard it is to write a spicy centaur romance due to anatomy. However, LV Lane has done it multiple times and done so beautifully. I will honestly admit I love these book. Everything about them is just so *chef’s kiss*.

This world is built vividly and beautifully. It leaves no doubt that Lane puts a lot of time and thought in to her books. I want to live in the beautiful valley with a sexy centaur. It’s not fair!

Seriously though, the relationship between Calden and Hope was so damn sweet. Even with the miscommunications and the “punishments”. I loved watching this couple learn about each other and grow. I hope to at least see flashes of them in future books.

Sign me up for all future centaur books written by LV Lane because I know they’ll be awesome!

This is a twenty-two chapter book, light reading like The Centaur in My Forest and not dark like The Centaur in My Dreams.

It's a short and fun novella. I still don't understand the saddling. An artist's illustration will be greatly appreciated. There are also many unanswered questions about the centaur, like, how does he poop? Does he flick his tail to wipe? And when he goes number one, does he do it anywhere like an animal? And that leaves us with the conclusion that there's no sensible reason for the centaur to have a br installation in his house, therefore Hope must have used a hole in the backyard (medieval style during a procession). And, this book disturbed me a bit because descriptions of his centeurian biology, like when he lifted his hindleg....it disturbed me.

Hope is a woman from the human village. Her husband is a lazy cheat who doesn't work but drinks and plays around with his mistress. Calden is a centaur who is literally hung like a horse. He's also Hope's knight in shinning armour.

This was... i don't even know. I enjoyed ut and I didn't. There was miscommunication and a bit of "Too Stupid To Live" and although I enjoyed a miscommunication trope at times when it's because of cultural differences, it just felt truly stupid.

This was my first centaur romance though and I did enjoy this type of monster (is there a monster I haven't enjoyed though?).

Calden and Hope were okay main characters, and the kinky bits were fun. The writing style in this series is still something I'm unsure if I like or not, even after reading several in the series. It's different and the author pulls it off well, but at times it just feels a bit too different for my contemporary loving self.

L.V Lane writes terrific Centaurs. Her stories always capture your imagination from the first page, and this one is no different.
Hope is a married woman from a small village, who has realised that her marriage isn’t everything that she hoped it would be, and she’s right. An unfortunate incident drives her into the forrest, where she lands into even more trouble, but is saved by Calden, a centaur worrier. He claims a month with her, and feelings between the two start to bloom.
Lane writes spicy books, and this is no exception. There is a lot of steam, but also a lot of heart.
This sweet novella is an absolute joy to read, and anyone struck my the monster mayhem should give it a try.

When I was little I loved a good fairytale either in books or Disney movies. Now as I’m older I still love a good fairytale but just a little naughtier.
Hope is a seamstress with a deadbeat husband. She overhears a conversation between him and his lover that sends her running from her inherited cottage. Her husband tries to chase after her but they are overtaken by ruffians. He of course runs off leaving Hope behind. Hope is in a dangerous situation and has lost all hope in being rescued.
Calden is a brave warrior Centaur who hears a scream and must come to the call.
Calden rescues Hope and tells her she owes him a moon month of servitude for her debt.
Hope agrees since going home is out of the question. She is stubborn when it comes to the ways of the Centaur village but she slowly realizes she rather enjoys the attention that Calden showers her with. He wants to make her his mate but she doesn’t know that and makes a decision that puts her in harms way. Calden must battle for her return and plans on a fitting punishment for his wayward omega. He “saddles”(I’m still trying to imagine this particular piece of furniture) her and first must make her his mate.
We get a HFN epilogue that left me wanting so much more!
