“The Secret life of Adeline” by Jones and Rogers, is a look into despair and the internal ramifications of keeping unhealthy secrets. It has always been noted that there is a thin line between sanity and insanity, but that line has always been elusive. It has been an invisible anomaly of the ever present yet intangible. What does it take to break a person? How much is too much? These are questions that we grapple with daily in trying to stay balanced in a world which is out of balance.
This short story brought me to tears. So many women suffer brutally at the hands of men and then suffer again at the hands of an unspoken "women are to blame" system, causing us to loose ourselves in the process. Excellent short story. Straight and to the point.
