Amanda is a legal secretary with PWT, the Solicitors firm at which Ali worked as an intern before the junior partner ditched her and broke her heart in the first book in the series, “Internment”.
Amanda is ambitious to do better in the law but she has her inner demons which affect her confidence and hold her back. And she has an unfulfilled passion for writing though the legal job has to be her bread and butter for now.
Never quite sure of herself, Amanda likes people to think she’s a lot harder than she is. It’s easier that way and she certainly doesn’t want people to feel sorry for her. On the threshold of womanhood and whatever else life may have to offer, her armour plating doesn’t fool everyone. One person with an astute ability to read people and situations, though with an Achilles heel of his own, is able to open her up and tap her potential. Nonetheless, nothing is ever as straight forward as it could be. People and events will always interfere to create complications. Amanda has staying power but will it be enough as, several times, things look as though they may unravel?
Threshold isn’t the end of the story by any means. The characters will return. Wait and see.
