I think most middle aged adults and older all suffer from back aches, arthritis, etc and could all benefit from an anti-inflammatory diet. A cookbook like this that includes easy to follow and delicious recipes will help anyone to do that. Bright and colorful pictures are included for many recipes. My only complaint is while it has plenty if recipes it is a bit short.
**Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the e-arc I received.**
I really appreciated all of the delicious foods in this book and the fantastic photography that went with it (I eat with my eyes!) The recipes were varied and all tasty. I didn't find too many new ones in this book (I read a lot of cook books across different dietary requirements) but if you're new to cookbooks then I would for sure recommend this one to you.
This is a book full of recipes that ‘heal and support immune health’ from the author of the What Molly Made blog.
There is tons of information about chronic inflammation and lists of foods that can help to reduce it or contribute to it.
The recipes included are easily key coded to identify gluten-free, dairy-free, low carb, paleo, refined sugar-free, vegan and vegetarian, so this is an easy reference book when you are cooking for people with food intolerances as well as inflammation issues.
The chapters are divided in the traditional way: Breakfasts, Snacks, Pasta & Grains, Beef, Seafood, Meatless and Beverages, and I instantly spotted loads of recipes that myself (chronic illness) and my family (meat-loving husband and two children aged 7 and 10) would all love to try. So far we have tried the Butternut Squash Soup, Mint Chocolate (with Avocado) Smoothie and the Chocolate Banana Blender Muffins and they have all been easy to follow and tasted delicious.
My only minor niggle was that I would have found it handy to have the cooking times somewhere prominent (for example, with the serving size information), as this is something that is important to us when meal planning for the week, around everyone’s clubs and activities.
I can’t say that I have noticed a particular decrease in inflammation since beginning to follow the principles of this dietary method, but it is early days, and we all definitely feel better for eating a little bit healthier in general. So, I will definitely be buying myself a hard-copy of this one to keep on our kitchen shelf and can recommend it for anyone looking for some tasty, healthy recipes.
I wanted to read The Easy Anti-Inflammatory Cookbook: Simple Recipes that Heal and Support Immune Health by Molly Thompson because I've had some back issues and inflammation and thought what a great way to be introduced to recipes that may help. The information in the book was helpful, especially the front matter that introduces the reader to understanding inflammation and the list of foods that help reduce inflammation. I will see how these recipes and the food list will help with my inflammation, but at least this gives me a start on the right track.
Sometimes the number of ingredients kind of turned me off from the recipe. Some items are quite expensive for only using a teaspoon or so. The recipes I did try turned out pretty well. I tried the creamy penne arrabbiata. It was easy and tasty.
The other recipe was the zucchini boats, which were good and simple to create. You can also use various ingredients as substitutes, which I liked. I also liked the slow cooker recipes.
A go-to recipe that I will have over and over is the everything bagel chicken salad. It was easy, and I got pre-shredded chicken from the store, so that was also simple.
I would recommend this book. There are several more recipes I am going to try, but the ones I did try were tasty and simple, and you can use various substitutes to create your own dish.
The effects of inflammation on our health is something I’m interested in and having suffered from psoriasis since a teenager I know personally how some foods can make it flare up, so I was hoping this book would shed more light on the subject .
I learned a lot from the book . The list of inflammatory foods was very insightful and the recipes look easy to follow with beautiful pictures of the finished results .
I will definitely have a go at some of the recipes and the book has made me think more about the foods I am eating .
I received a complimentary copy from the author and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
This is a helpful cookbook with stunning photos that explains the anti-inflammatory diet and provides creative and delicious recipes. The recipes were easy to follow, the pictures were awesome and engaging. I recommend this cookbook to anyone in need of healthy recipes that are yummy.
This was an excellent cookbook for those with anti-inflammatory problems. I requested this as I am in this category and my son was recently diagnosed with Rheumotoid arthritis. I founf it very easy to follow, the information very enlightening and the recipes both easy to follow and delicious to eat. I am definitely buying this book for our use.
Thank you to Netgalley and Molly Thompson for the opportunity to read and review this book.
A cookbook is only as good as its recipes, but how the author describes and gives instruction definitely has a part to play as to its success. Cooking and baking are highly visual, so a cookbook with few photographs tends to not be as inspiring as one with photos of most of the finished dishes. Nutritional information is key, especially when the focus is on healthy eating. The Easy Anti-Inflammatory Cookbook has great recipes, several of which I have tried or will try. The author has key symbols so that readers can see at a glance if the recipe is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and so forth. The problem is that the author does not include nutritional information, just short introductions with some of the recipes that explains the good benefits of the dishes. There are not a huge number of photographs either.
The first chapter of the cookbook explains the basics: symptoms of inflammatory problems, foods that reduce or increase inflammation, essential tools, and pantry items. The author then moves on to the recipe sections, which I have listed below with some of my favorites.
Breakfast: Banana Oatmeal Pancakes; Double Chocolate Banana Blended Muffins Dips, Spreads and Snacks: Spicy Chicken Thai-Inspired Lettuce Wraps; Kale, Chorizo, and Artichoke Dip Pasta and Grains: Roasted Summer Vegetable Pesto Pasta; One-Pot Taco Pasta; Blackened Chicken Tacos with Cilantro Lime Rice Poultry and Pork: Tuscan Sausage and Cauliflower Soup; Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup; Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Sweet Potatoes Beef: Instant Pot Mongolian Beef; Slow Cooker Korean Barbacoa Bowls Seafood: Lemon, Garlic, and Asparagus Salmon Foil Packs; Seafood Shrimp Egg Roll in a Bowl; Spicy Shrimp Lettuce Wraps Meatless Meals and Sides: Black Beans and Sweet Potato Enchiladas; Crispy Chickpea Caesar Salad; Marinated Chickpea and Brussels Sprouts Salad; Moroccan Lentil Stew with Mashed Potatoes Beverages: Watermelon-Mint Mocktail; Vanilla Chai Latte
Overall, there are good recipes here. Because the author is not licensed or registered as a nutritionist, it is hard to be convinced that the recipes are healthy without the nutritional facts. The author uses a lot of coconut cream and coconut oil, which are high in healthy fats but used more liberally than I like.
Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy by NetGalley and the publisher. The decision to read and review this cookbook entirely rested with me.

As someone who loves a tricksy eater, I’m always on the lookout for beautiful cookbooks that fit our rather particular bill.
Even though we’re grain-free, this cookbook, from Molly Thompson does a great job, accommodating most of our needs.
The food photography was stunning. Everything looks delicious, and I love knowing what the meals SHOULD look like.
The recipes themselves were fresh, diverse, and delicious. I particularly liked the Street Corn Salad, the Spicy Chicken Thai-Inspired Lettuce Wraps, and the Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Sweet Potatoes.
A few things I think would make this tome even better:
A fully fleshed out Table of Contents, with recipe titles. Headings such as Breakfast, Beef and Beverages, aren’t quite enough for me. I’d love them all at a glance.
A fully fleshed out DESSERT SECTION. C’mon, Molly. The Blender Muffins were delicious, but GIMME MORE.
Recipes for all ingredients. I get wanting to use a jar of enchilada sauce, but I’d also like a recipe.
All in all, this beautiful book would be helpful for anyone wanting to add colour, taste, and variety to their weird and wonderful protocols.
7.5/10
Thanks to NetGalley and Quatro Publishing Group for this tasty ARC.
I approached this book with high hopes, eager to explore new recipes, but I found it lacking in a few areas. Visually, it's not the most exciting book, with most recipes missing accompanying pictures, which makes it harder to decide what to try.
A significant number of the recipes rely heavily on honey or other natural sweeteners. If you enjoy Asian-style cuisine, you might find this appealing, but personally, I find these dishes too sweet. The seafood section is predominantly shrimp-based, which could be limiting for some.
However, there are definitely positives. The book offers a solid introduction to the anti-inflammatory diet and includes a helpful key for dietary preferences like dairy-free, gluten-free, low carb, Paleo, refined sugar-free, vegan, and vegetarian. This makes it easier to find recipes that suit various dietary needs.
Despite some drawbacks, I did save several breakfast recipes, a few from the pasta and grain section, and four chicken recipes. I'm particularly excited to try the "One-Pot Taco Pasta," "Southwest Stuffed Peppers," and "Spicy Black Bean Nachos with Cashew Queso."
If you're new to the anti-inflammatory diet, this book could serve as a decent starting point. However, I would recommend exploring additional resources to find a broader range of recipes.
A pretty cookbook with good information about the anti-inflammatory diet. The cookbook begins with information around inflammation and how to reduce it. Then it leads into a chapter around breakfast recipes. As someone with Hashimotis, breakfast is an area where I find it challenging to eat anti-inflammatory foods so I was glad to see this section included. Anti-inflammatory eating can be difficult due to the amount of things that need to be eliminated or reduced and this cookbook seems to suffer the typical challenge of making recipes that aren't too difficult while maintaining anti-inflammatory eating. To me, it doesn't completely hit the mark of "easy" cooking but certainly does better than some cookbooks out there. It wins on having each recipe labeled with things such as Gluten/dairy/etc-free and vegan which is helpful if prioritizing what you're reducing at a glance. It also kindly gives temperatures in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. I also appreciate that it includes serving sizes for each recipe, pro-tips throughout the book, and recipes that can be cooked in an instant pot or slow-cooker. Overall this cookbook seems like a good resource for those trying to eat healthier and lower inflammation.

The right food choices can return your body function to its most efficient and ultimately eliminate symptoms associated with inflammatory disorders. This cookbook has an anti-infammatory recipe key that uses symbols to see how each recipe adheres to the diet with markers such as refined sugar-free and incorporates other eating habits and allergies, such as vegan and gluten-free as well. The pictures are gorgeous and show you what the recipe should look like. I would like to try the Southwest Stuffed Peppers, One Pot Taco Pasta and Creamy Penne Arrabbiata. Thank you to NetGalley and New Shoe Press for a copy for an honest review.
We probably heard about inflammation before but isn't really understand how it will affect your body with issues from digestive problems, hormone imbalances, autoimmune diseases and mood disorders.
The Easy Anti-Inflammatory Cookbook is a wonderful collection of easy-to-make recipes with simple ingredients based on foods that are scientifically proven to reduce inflammation naturally. This small book not only offer delicious recipe but also give introduction and special chapter to explains about basic inflammation diet and ingredients.
The recipes it self divide by category from breakfast, snack, seafood, beef, poultry, meatless also beverages. All come with clean writing ingredients and instruction, pro tips and mouthwatering pictures
I have had to go through a lot of diets for health reasons, and eating anti-inflammatory foods was a big part of one, so this cookbook sounded just right. (My copy is called The Easy Anti-Inflammatory Cookbook.) The recipes are very reasonable and tasty looking for this type of diet. I would have liked more photos, but the ones included were gorgeous. There are lots of veggies throughout, which is fantastic. I definitely want to pick up a copy for the shrimp and grits recipe, among others. For those who collect cookbooks, you might not find a lot new here, but everyone else is likely to find something they like.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a digital review copy. Publish date December 27, 2022.
As an RD2Be (registered dietitian to be), I think this is a great collection of recipes to suggest to a patient or client who is looking to reduce their chronic inflammation and state of disease. The recipes are easy to follow and sound absolutely delicious (everything bagel chicken salad? creamy penne arrabbiata? sign me up)! This lovely little cookbook offers a vast range of recipes, catering to all audiences from the meat eaters to the vegan, vegetable lovers. Readers will find many vegetarian and vegan based dishes, but these recipes use ingredients that will help protect the body, rather than continue causing harm to it!
Other than a few random allergies (avocado and trout, for instance) our family eats fairly normally (whatever that means). Just because we’re not gluten-free, or sugar-free, or whatever, doesn’t mean we don’t love a beautiful cookbook, filled with healthy recipes. This book delivers on both. The pictures are so bright and enticing, and my family has really responded to the recipes. The Creamy Penne Arrabiata was a huge hit, among others, and the Very Berry Smoothie I made for breakfast this morning? SO SATISFYING. I can’t wait to work my way through this whole, lovely book. 7.5/10 Thanks to NetGalley and Quatro Publishing Group for this yummy ARC.
The Easy Anti-Inflammatory Cookbook is a wonderful collection of easy-to-make recipes with simple ingredients. There are foods that are scientifically proven to reduce inflammation naturally. The introduction and special chapter explains the basic inflammation diet and ingredients. It also includes education about what foods cause inflammation..
The recipes are organized by category from breakfast, snacks, grains, seafood, poultry, beef, meatless and beverages. All come with ingredients list and instructions. There are also pro tips and awesome pictures. Each recipe has the benefits identified, so you know if it is gluten free, dairy free, etc.
**Thank you to Molly Thompson, Quarto Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!** This cookbook is so helpful. I have recently been diagnosed with endometriosis and have been advised to start following an anti-inflammatory diet. This book has so many great recipes. It is very easy to become bored with an anti-inflammatory diet and this book really helped me to find so many more recipes! The recipes are exciting and taste great. I loved all of the additional optional items within the book, it's very helpful to have them in case you have an allergy or other reason to not want to add them to your meal.
This is a solid collection of recipes designed to help relieve inflammation and the physical issues that result from it. The author talks a bit about her own experiences and follows this with a basic discussion of what an anti-inflammatory way of eating looks like. She has little symbols to indicate recipes that are vegan, vegetarian, paleo, gluten-free, etc. The photographs give an indication of what the finished result looks like. There are many recipes in the book that I look forward to making.
This is a very simple cookbook. But I did enjoy the photographs! The pictograms at the top of each recipe made it easy to tell if a recipe was dairy free, gluten free, etc. With the amount of allergies my friends have these days this was a very handy way of telling which was what. I really liked this cookbook but would love them to get a designer to format it to be more appealing. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book!
This is hands down the best anti-inflammatory cookbook I’ve read. These are real recipes (no extravagant ingredients you are going to need 1 tsp of and never use again) for real people. I could cook out of this everyday and my family would eat well.
Pros: * easy to follow instructions. * easy to find ingredients. * great pictures.
Cons: * I wish there were more. Hopefully a second book is coming.
Unfortunately I was unable to finish this book before it expired on my Netgalley shelf. Happily I know that I can buy it. As someone who has diverticular disease I know how vital it is to keep a healthy gut and the recipes in this book do just that. I can recommend the recipes and information contained in the book for anyone hoping to maintain a healthy lifestyle especially the gut as mentioned. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for this handy and informative read.
Very nice cookbook! Simple and easy to follow. It starts explaining about the basics of the Anti-inflammatory diet, foods that can help and food that can contribute to inflammation. Then it shows recipes for breakfast, dips. Pasta and grains, poultry and pork, beef, seafood, meatless meals and beverage. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
Thank you Quarto Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this wonderful book. As someone with chronic inflammation, I’m always on a lookout for anti-inflammatory recipes that are easy and quick to prepare. I would definitely try some of the recipes I discovered in this great book and would get myself a copy when it’s published at the end of December.
I was given the opportunity to review this cookbook via NetGalley. It looks like a pretty good cookbook. I would not use it since many recipes called for food items I am either allergic to or do not like. For those who are health conscious, this could be a very good cookbook. The recipes seem creative and probably taste good, I just can not use many of the recipes.
Although this book says “easy”, I didn't find these recipes all that easy. Most recipes call for ingredients not readily available at a grocery store unless you live in a bigger city or use Amazon. Maybe some substitutions for would help. I could not find paleo mayo, cassava flour, coconut sugars, no sugar added meats, to name a few.
Recently I have been having several problems relates to my gut. This book has provided some insight on the subject of inflammation and the easy to follow steps for the recipes were very nice.
I appreciate the the clarity in which the author wrote and the great variety of recipes that are included in the book.
Very well done. This is a cookbook, so I didn't read every word. But the recipes look great, the photography and presentation is excellent and mouth-watering, and the info about inflammation is probably too brief, but helpful. Recommended.
I loved the simplicity of this cookbook, and how easy it makes eating anti-inflammatory foods are. Great recipes, with great photos, and organized well. All very important in a cookbook. I would recommend.
I can't wait to get to the store so I can get started on some of these recipes! I have an autoimmune disorder, and healthy eating definitely affects how I feel. This book is super helpful and easy to follow.
