Dane Wade is a breath of fresh air. Sexy, charming, and with abs that could melt any woman’s panties. With my rules and boundaries in place, he is the perfect person to have fun with to pass the time. As long as he knows it will never amount to anything more. Which he does … I think.
But then boundaries get shattered. Lines get blurred. And I know it’s time to bolt before things get harder and I risk falling deeper. Running away is the only thing I know how to do. And in my twenty years on this earth, it’s worked for me.
They say you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. They’re wrong. I knew what I had all along. I just couldn’t accept it.
And now … he might be gone for good.
One thing is for sure: it’ll take more than an apology for him to want me back. But saying I’m sorry is a good place to start.
Hannah Gray spends her days in vacationland, living in a small, quaint town on the coast of Maine. She is an avid reader of contemporary romance and is always in competition with herself to read more books every year.
During the day, she loves on her three perfect-to-her daughters and tries to be the best mom she can be. But once she tucks them in at night--okay, scratch that. Once they fall asleep next to her in her bed--because their bedrooms apparently have monsters in them--she dives into her own fantasy world, staying awake well into the late-night hours, typing away stories about her characters. As much as she loves being a wife and mom--and she certainly does love it--reading and writing are her outlet, giving her a place to travel far away while still physically being with her family.
She married her better half in 2013, and he's been putting up with her craziness every day since. As her anchor, he's her one constant in this insane, forever-changing world.
My gosh, this story broke my heart in two, but then stitched it back up so darn beautifully. Gahhhh!
My emotions were all over the place while reading and getting to know Layla. My heart hurt for her. She had a nightmare past and was trying her hardest to be strong, to overcome it all while never really letting anyone in. If you don't let them in, they can't hurt you - right? She is attending college, is on the swim team and has the bestest friend she could find in Henley (who is introduced in Hate You, Henley - which I didn't read ahead of time). She's hurting, but masks it so well.
Dane, holy goodness. This guy - book boyfriend material 100%. He also attends college (but a different university than Layla), quarterback, twin brother to Weston who you meet in Henley's book and an all-around charmer. There is drama between the twins that stemmed from the book I mentioned, but I don't feel like I missed anything with not reading it.
After meeting at a family holiday dinner, they both feel drawn to each other. Aren't sure why but want to have some fun together. Agreeing to an emotionless, only banging arrangement - they find themselves on non-dates that happen once a month, but feel a longing after they part.
Of course, that doesn't last long. Feelings are messy and pop up when you least expect it. For these two, it was so real and beautiful. Dane knew just want to say to keep a skittish Layla coming back for more. He was a sweet and dirty talker that's for sure. Little did they know that the pull they had for each other surpassed anything they could have fathomed. This series is gonna be a great one! Can't wait to read the next book!
Dane is lost and honestly drowning on his own away from his twin brother and family best friend. But something happened between the three of them that’s changed their dynamic. Layla has a traumatic past that’s still shaping her future. She has rules about relationships to protect herself. But, Dane becomes the exception.
There are a lot of heavy moments in this book. I wouldn’t call it lighthearted, but not a full drama romance. I would say it reminds me of the teen tv shows, where you just can’t put it down because you aren’t sure what will happen next.
The chemistry between Dane and Layla is stellar. I love that Dane falls first. He plays that trope so differently than most and I adore him for it. I just wanted to give Layla a big hug. She’s amazing and strong and I adored her.
But, there are so many plot points going at once that it can seem really overwhelming at times. That being said, it’s setting up other books so it works out but it’s a lot going on.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a heartwarming sports college romance!! I adored Dane and Layla so much, and although their journey wasn't an easy one, it was beautiful and honest.
Dane is estranged from his twin brother for all that went down between the both of them and his brothers girl, and he feels more alone than ever. Then he meets Layla, and he instantly wants her in every way, but because of her past she's so closed off to what life has to offer, and she's very wary about forming attachments to other people, especially men. Dane slowly breaks free of her walls and gets her to realize just how she's merely surviving day to day instead of living it, and once she opens her heart to him, man did I get emotional!!
I loved Dane so freaking much. He knew what he wanted, and I loved how he wanted to save Layla from everything including herself, but he made her see that she had saved herself all along. I just adore these two!!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions**
Layla and Dane's story was a complete roller coaster ride. Ups, downs, happiness, grief, sweet times, sexy times... it had a bit of everything.
Layla was such a fiercely independent character, due to the trauma she endured. But, I adored how Dane showed her that he was worth changing her ideas for. He was just the right amount of kindness and understanding that she needed.
Not that their relationship was all sunshine and sparkles—it wasn't—there were some major demons that they needed to overcome. Yet, it felt honest. Realistic. But absolutely beautiful in its own way.
This was my first book by Hannah Gray and it was so good. I will definitely be reading more by her. Playing Dane is the first book in the Florida East University series and this follows Layla and Dane. This is a friend’s to lovers secret romance.
I really loved Dane and Layla together. Their story was so emotional, heartbreaking and so beautifully written.
This is my first read by Hannah Gray and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised ☺️
Layla is closed off, majorly closed off but when you learn more of her childhood, you'll understand why!!!
As for Dane, the star QB is kind of lost in life. He's got his friends and football but having fell out with his twin brother and no longer close to his childhood friend, he doesn't really know how to survive. In comes Layla ....
Takes them a while to overcome some issues but it's all worth it!
*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review. 3.5stars
vibes were not being met and there was no chemistry between them, honestly. u want me to read about another white girl who thinks she’s so much better than other girls bc she sleeps around and doesn't like to be slut-shamed while inversely upholding the patriarchal in another way? and PLS, their "deep conversations" was over why they pick their colleges, their sports and ice cream. if that's the standard for "deep conversations" i can tell this book was gonna be another white heteronormative book about two people who happen to be the opposite genders and are bounded to be together by the mere fact that they're a man and a woman. nothing else.
5 OH MY STARS!! Dane, Oh my!! What a great start to Florida East University series. Dane and Layla's story was perfect and kept me flipping pages. You must read this one....it was so good.
Truthfully I DNF 22 pages in. Unfortunately it was also my first for this author so I’m not sure if I’ll give it or her another chance.
The book opens with an unnamed female pov having just been in what seems to be a horrible car accident while people around her discuss an ominous emotional scar that will follow her.
Next we are introduced to Dane the mmc where he drops a bomb on us that he was in a love triangle that includes his twin brother except he admits his twin probably loved her more but he drunkenly took her v-card and got her pregnant. Which makes me think two things. Either the girl is the fmc and the opening is her miscarriage or I’ve missed a book but this is the first in the series. If it’s not the former the moral grey zone the author is going for falls into my unforgivable category so I’m set up to dislike our male mc. Where is the bro code?
Barely a page later it’s the fmc who is not the aforementioned girl (Henley) but her best girlfriend, Layla. More breaking of bro code. Also means love triangle girl is pregnant with Dane’s baby? Making for yet another relationship triangle? Triangle tropes are not my thing. Now I already dislike both main characters.
So this is the ‘meet-cute’ (but not) and essentially the twins and their parents are all best friends with Henley and her parents so they’re having thanksgiving together. Except Henley can’t make it, though shows up with an uninvited plus one, Layla. It’s just a weirdly written scene. Giving a vibe that she’s about to tell her parents she’s pregnant so needed back up but that doesn’t happen so we are still in limbo about that.
We find out twin brother(Weston), Henley and Layla all go to one university together while Dane is across the country at a different university (and this makes me learn that Weston and Henley have their own book for their university trilogy so I’m wondering why they’re overshadowing this book). Layla lies about where she’s from but we don’t know why. There is a weird scene where Dane picks up her bank card and calls her by her first name but given she mentions to the reader her Florida lie is just another on the pile I’m left thinking the card exposed a last name she’s lying about maybe? But no he only says her first name.
I’m getting whiplash from this book and both too much information and not enough. I’m used to getting one characters pov per chapter minimum. It’s a better read that way in my opinion. Like maybe Layla says she’s from Florida and we can find out later that’s a lie/she’s a liar? Because I still want to know the status of Dane’s fatherhood.
Then we learn Layla and Henley are on the swimming team and Layla convinced Henley to swim on their team after her not wanting to (maybe because she’s pregnant? I still don’t know) regardless this Dane/Layla book is completely overshadowed by Henley yet I still know nothing. Given Weston/Henley had their own book maybe we could have not made this a parallel story so it could have some focus? The events of this book should pick up after the previous book assuming that one was tied up at the end.
I’m also confused as fuck about how this is about to work out logistically when they’re in two different colleges in two different states.
I was considering staring back at the first book in the Weston/Henley trilogy but I really feel like the whole twin brother being the guy the love of my life lost her v card to and got pregnant by is really irredeemable in my opinion and I don’t want to start a trilogy I can’t finish. And similarity don’t know if I can skip this book and finish the Florida U trilogy without it.
Sadly this is the longest review for the least amount of book I’ve ever read and recorded on here but I needed the notes for when it pops up in my recommended again.

From the moment this book was announced it became an anticipated read of mine! Having read Ms.Gray's work many times before had me wanting to pick it up even more! I had to dive into the Florida East University world right away and got into it quickly! I really enjoyed this story!
Having read Hate You, Henley i was ecstatic when i found out who the couple of this book was!
Layla and Dane's journey pulled me in right from the start! These two meet when Layla's friend Henley brings her to Thanksgiving Dinner and she locks eyes with Dane. As they brought back into each other's lives, i couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for them!
I wasn't sure what all to expect in their story and i really liked how that had me even more glued to it! I was so glad that i got to dig deeper with both Dane and Layla! There was such realness to these two that got to me. Layla had such strength and so did Dane. The chemistry between these two was undeniable and so dang great! I loved how i went through all kinds of emotions throughout reading their story!
I so enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story! It was so awesome getting into the Florida East University world for the first time as well!
With Playing Dane, Ms.Gray has created such a great read with feels and realness that you won't want to put down! I can't wait to dive back into the Florida East University world with the second installment, Bama's book Stealing Bama! 💗
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from WordSmith Publicity / the author*
Layla is living only half a life, scarred by a past that was not her doing, wearing the pain it caused her like a shield. Never letting anyone get too close, afraid a connection with someone will break what little is left of her fragile heart. She doesn't do love or relationships or deal with feelings, she is more of a strings-free kind of girl. She has rules in place to protect herself, and she always abides by them... that is until Dane comes along.
He is an unexpected surprise for her, he starts to stir things in her heart that she has never known, and suddenly she feels like fleeing is the only safe answer... but what if part of her doesn't want to?
Playing Dane is a dramatic and highly emotional love story that will tear at your heartstrings, but eventually leave it skipping a beat by the time the last page comes. It's one of those stories that taps into all those first love feelings, reminding you of all the jitters, new and unexplained feelings, the indecision, and butterflies that refuse to settle in your belly. It words will captivate you from beginning to end and take you on a roller coaster ride you will never want to depart. I loved everything about this one, it may have tortured my heart a little, but it was so worth it in the end! Highly recommend!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Dane was a bestie for the most part. He gets rights in my book ✔️
And Layla, my sweet, sweet, damaged summer child 🥹
I really liked how Layla stood her ground and kept to her beliefs. Even though it was her avoiding her problems, sometimes heroines in romance books start out with all this trauma and issues, but then once they meet the hero, they suddenly flip the switch and are all for a relationship. Idk it just feels like bad writing to me when there’s not much development there besides the heroine getting a good dick down that was apparently better than therapy to make her change her mind about everything so quickly 😗 Healing and processing trauma is a long, difficult, tedious thing. Layla stuck to her ways for lit rally basically the w h o l e book (Dane fr fighting for his life to get the girl, bless his heart he was shooting all the shots and kept getting rebounds 💀). I thought her entire processing and healing was done better here than in most romance books.
The best friend and twin brother and their drama were annoying tho like what are u doing on the page GET 🍅 AWAY 🍅 GIVE ME BACK DANE AND LAYLA ‼️ The twin brother was a little hoe that needed a slap with a hot frying pan. If I wanted to read about that boring ass couple, I would have read their book with ass reviews 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sports Romance | New Adult | Friends to Lovers | Reverse Grumpy Sunshine
"Because it seems like when it comes to Layla Lovejoy, I'll jump through any hoop and walk through any fire just to keep a smile on her face. No matter what rules she makes me follow."
I loved this introduction of the boys from Florida East University! I've been dying to read Dane and Layla's story since I read Hate You, Henley earlier this year. I definitely loved their dynamic as far as the reverse grumpy sunshine trope. Plus, hearing Dane's side of the story gave me some good closure with his experience with Henley.
The instant chemistry between Dane and Layla was 10/10, but unfortunately, Layla's past trauma caused her to be closed off from so many things in life. I loved how Dane did not give up on Layla even though she was so hesitant to open her heart again.
The story felt a little rushed to me, but overall, I really enjoyed this book. Hannah Gray is amazing at creating characters who work through their trauma and grow throughout the story. I never see the twists she has planned for her readers coming and I love her epilogues!
An angsty, emotional romance that is also fun and steamy and everything you'd want in a new adult book.
For two young adults, both Dane and Layla, they have already had a rocky life, but they are also both excellent at hiding their pain. When they first meet they have an instant connection, but distance doesn't make it easy for these two to see one another and Layla is a stickler for the rules that whatever they decide to jump into is a non-relationship.
Dane Wade is super sweet, but also lost when he meets Layla. It's hard to tell if he's replacing his past hurt with a rebound, but it doesn't take long to realize that when Dane falls, he falls hard and fast and he easily falls for Layla. He plays along with all of her rules because he'd rather have her for a non-relationship than never at all. His compassion and understanding of all of her triggers is swoony. He's a total keeper, unfortunately Layla has all of these rules for a reason.
Layla is, I hate to use the word broken, but she's been damaged by a past that was not hers, but by the environment she grew up in. Her trauma runs deep and it keeps her from enjoying a lot of things, like Dane, but when they come up with an agreement to a no-strings non-relationship...unbeknownst to her she finally begins to heal. Actually they both do, but it might be too late.
Playing Dane is an interconnected book, but this was my first time reading anything by Hannah Gray and I was able to jump right in to this world with absolutely no problem.
I have been waiting for Playing Dane after reading Hate You, Henley by Hannah Gray. I just knew Dane and Layla's story was going to be EPIC and it surely went above and beyond my expectations. Hannah Gray has rapidly risen to my favorite authors list, especially in college/sports romance category.
Hannah has a way of telling a story that weaves twists and surprises that just blows your mind. I think this has become my latest favorite by this author.
I love the characters in the story. They are well written that sucks you in without even knowing it. Next thing you know, you're hit with a surprise and you're stunned at the revelation.
Dane is so sweet and definitely swoon worthy. I just want to cuddle him up and never let go. Layla is strong willed and determined. Her back story is heart wrenching and I just want to cry for her.
Their story has grit and depth. It's light hearted one minute and gutting the next. You can definitely tell that the author put much thought into this story with how she wove in different things throughout, that you wouldn't think really mattered only to find out... it very much did.
I really loved Playing Dane by Hannah Gray and highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to the next book in the Florida East University Series.
Make sure to check out Hannah Gray's other college series.
I am a huge fan of Hannah Gray and was super excited to have the chance to read her new release, Playing Dane, the first book in the Brooks U spin-off series, Florida East University series. We were teased with the main characters, Layla and Dane in the last Brooks U book but while interconnected it is a standalone. Her books are totally my jam..college sports romance. This one features Dane, the college football player and Layla, a college swimmer. Layla has some heartbreaking childhood trauma which has forced her to always keep people at a distance. Dane also has some family baggage that keeps him guarded. They have an undeniable chemistry but their views on relationships are totally different.
I loved how much these two characters grew during this book. When we met Dane in Hate You, Henley I wasn’t sure I was going to like him. But I was wrong and he was not who I thought he was going to be. Layla is a firecracker with a lot of sass and spunk and a lot of love to give. These two had great banter. And I loved seeing the characters from Brooks U. I absolutely recommend this book and all of Hannahs backlist. I can’t wait for more from this series (and I really hope there’s something coming for Cam cause I really like him)
Dane Wade is trying to deal with the consequences of his actions with his twin brother Weston and their childhood best friend Henley. He is broken because he lost the trust and love his brother because of what happened between him and Henley. Henley and Weston attend the same university and Dane does not. One their thanksgiving holiday break, they come together because their parents are also best friends and always get together during the holidays. Henley brings her roommate / swimming teammate along. Dane is instantly attracted to Layla, but she recognize hurt and she sees it in Dane. But she too has trauma hidden deep within, and keeps everyone at arms length. Through out the book we see the slow build up of their romance. At first this is just hook ups, but Dane likes to be around Layla. Yet she has rules, no dating, no kissing, no knowing her number. As, they meet each other every month, Dane and Layla anticipate their next meeting. Things get hot and steamy when they see one another. A bit cheesy here and there and I can't really believe a young college guy says half of the things Dane says. Oh, also there are flashbacks of verbal and domestic abuse mentioned throughout this book. if this is triggering don't read this book.
It's been a hot minute since I read Hate You, Henley and although this can be read as a stand-alone I suggest you read it before this one. We originally meet Dane, Weston's twin brother, and Layla, Henley's roomie and bestie, in Hate You, Henley.
Playing Dane is Dane & Layla's story, but coincides with the timing of Weston & Henley's story. The twins have a falling out which is addressed in both books.
This book sucks you in right from the start with a front row seat to one of the worst days of Layla's life. She's been handed a crappy hand and shuts everyone out to prevent a repeat of her traumatic childhood. It's beautiful to see her grow throughout the book.
Don't even get me started on the surprise twist...I am SO here for it! I love when a book surprises me with something I didn't see coming!
GAH...and Dane, it's like he was made specifically for Layla. He's patient, understanding and lets her lead. I love them together and thank you for the extended epilogues!
Favorite Spoiler-free Quotes: “Then, help me, Layla. Help me get it. Teach me, and I’ll learn. If you talk to me, I’ll listen. Your secrets are safe with me. I swear it.”
“You’re the most complicated creature I’ve ever met, but it’s worth it to me because you have a way of making everything better, just by being around. I know you won’t let me be your forever. So, please, Layla, at least let me be your now.”
This book has it all-spice, sexy characters who like to talk dirty and lots of feels. There was definitely a tear or two shed during this one.
We first met Dane and Layla in Hate You, Henley from Hannah’s and they were both very impactful. Layla always had a larger than life personality and an irresistible energy. Dane was a wounded and troubled soul trying to move on.
Part of the reason why this book was such a great read was their 0 to 100 chemistry. From the moment these two laid eyes on each other there was something so palpable connecting them.
Their story is this mix of hesitation, intense chemistry and a twisty plot that was incredibly satisfying to read. Hannah’s writing conveyed every emotion and had me hanging on her every word. By the conclusion, my heart was full yet sad that it was ending.
There are a lot of crossovers from Hannah’s Brooks University series that added to the richness of this story but it can definitely be read as a standalone.
Playing Dane is now added to my favourite of all time sports romance list. One-click today!
Playing Dane is the first book in the Florida East University series by Hannah Gray. This is the first book of hers that I have read and really enjoyed reading it.
Layla has had a rough start to life. She is a broken person who is just trying to heal from a damaged past. She makes a lot of rules to keep herself protected, which means she misses out on a lot of different things. Dane being one of them. She makes rules up with Dane and in a way helps her actually heal.
Dane Wade is a little lost. He has a past that he is trying to heal from and takes a while. When he meets Layla, he falls fast. He plays along with all of her rules because he will take what he can get. They have an instant connection but both are trying to heal from their pasts.
This wasn't a book that is full of drama but touches on some of the heavier things. Which I liked about. these two coming together and watching them heal from each other was amazing to read about. I loved these two characters together. I did like all the secondary characters and Hannah is doing a good job of setting up the other books in the series!
I would recommend this book! I received an ARC for honest review.
4.5 stars for this amazing book by Hannah Gray. Spicy just perfect.
One of the books from which I highlightsthe most passages. It's so well written that I want to remember certains lines for the rest of my life.
"I know you wont be let me be your forever. So, please, Layla at least let me be your now" Dane.
Layla is not perfect and she does what she can to survive among her traumas. She has an impressive will to live and her choices are the best avenue for her to get through life in one piece. Even if Dane has not gone through the same ordeal as the one he loves more than anything, he has some problem on his plate too and directs his future very differently.
2 lives, 2 people who will find a way to unify everything, but wow it's not easy. Heartbreaking moments but without great frustration for us dear readers.
A book that made my lips curl more than once, released tons of butterflies in my stomach and even made me shed tears. I broke at some point somewhere around chapter 30 and cried a lot. The end, although a little long, is a wonderful wrap up and that's what I like most when I read a book, not to be left unsatisfied.
My first novel by this author and I absolutely put all her other works in my TBR which is now a kilometer long.
This story follows Layla and Dane. Layla had a horrendous start in life with an abusive father who ended up trying to kill her and successfully killing her mum driving off a bridge at 9 years old.
Dane grew up being best friends with his twin brother and the girl next door and what he mistook as love was in fact a loving friendship and sadly ended with him and the girl next door (also his brother's girl and the FMCs best friend) losing a baby.
After the start in life that Layla had she's learnt to not depend on anyone especially men and to keep so many secrets about her earlier life, but when her and Dane get to know each other they decide to meet up once a month with no strings and no feelings. Dane tries but quickly starts to fall for Layla and she gets spooked and runs.
This was a good story and definitely emotional at times with both the characters pasts especially the FMCs and her fears. I was waiting for the FMC to explain to her best friend about her past and about all the secrets she had kept from her but it never happened, still a good read
Dane may appear to be living a life that most would envy as he is the quarterback of the college football team and is popular with his peers. Underneath it all he is hurt by the events of the past that has caused a rift with those he was closest to. When he meets Layla his feelings for her are unexpected and he know that he wants a future with her, and he is willing to be patient until she realizes it as well.
Layla has a devastating past which is affecting her present. What she has had to endure has made her cautious about those she allows into her life and only allows them so close before pushing them away. She is developing feelings for Dane that she doesn’t want and only she can decide if the reward of being with him is worth the risk.
What began as an attraction turns into so much more as Dane and Layla open their hearts and learn to trust each other and help each other overcome their pasts but it wasn’t without its turmoil.
Author: Hannah Gray Book Title: Playing Dane: Florida East University, #1 Genre: Romance Tropes: Football,
Playing Dane is the first book in The Florida East University.
Plot: Dane is the an all-star football player or FEU, estranged from his brother, feeling lost and alone. He meets Layla, and immediately she puts her boundaries up. Layla has come from a heartbreaking past and is on the run from it. Agreeing to friends with benefits, and enjoying the ride it all goes well until she feels until she feels like the boundaries are coming down.
Thoughts: The character development of both Dane and Layla in this book was perfect. Layla's past and view of the world were heartbreaking. Dane was so lovely and caring, he melted my heart.
Conclusion: If you love sports romance, take a chance on Hannah Gray and her boys.
First of all...,. How cute is Dane, please? I was overly exited for this book since first reading about Dane. In “Hate you, Henley” we learn a few about him and Layla too. But I wanted to know Dane`s side of the story, wanted to know him. And he didn`t dissapoint me. Layla appears as a strong, funny and independent woman. But on the inside she feels weak and is full of fear and mistrust. Diverse happenings have her act the way she does and made her make her rules. Dane is full of regret. Regret of former decisions and the results therefore. He wants to move on and heal, but he can`t convince Layla for him and her. And as forgotten things were revealed, and secrets come to light, it looks that a happy ever after is not possible. So well, beautiful and sensitive written. So well done with this story, which brought me to tears more than once. Loved it so much.
The pairing starts out with the intentions of being secret FWB but that quickly goes up in flames for one of them. Which is no surprise since their entire “relationship” is nothing but spicy to start. I honestly loved the dynamic. Often times I read books where it’s the fmc “chasing” the mmc, but in this case it’s the opposite. Dane fell hard and fast and Layla resisted at all costs, which leads to a lot of character development for her. It was interesting watching her learn to sort through those emotions after the trauma she endured. At the risk of too many spoilers I won’t mention the details of the plot twist, but I definitely didn’t see it coming and it added so much more depth to their story.
I personally love books/series that are part of the same world so I really loved that this one gave more insight to Dane’s twin Weston’s story from the Brooks University series. It’s cool to see past characters make a quick appearances as well!
I can’t wait to really meet Bama and Kye!!!
TLDR- Dane is a sweetheart, I Love the spice, That plot twist though!!
Absolutely incredible start to a brand new series. Dane & Layla’s story had me shocked in parts, unbelievably sad in others and of course towards the end of the book there were plenty of laughs. This was usually due to Dane, but Layla certainly had her moments as well. There is so much I want to touch on with this book but the reader just needs to go in blind and be willing to go through a whole gamut of emotions. I was hoping so hard for Layla to find her HEA - and with this being a romance novel I was confident that she would. What I couldn’t of guessed was how her getting to that point would play out. After reaching the end I couldn’t of asked for it ending any other way. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
