Jax Fortier expected to die as a traitor before he turned thirty... My goals were simple—give our rebel settlement infrastructure and avoid attachment. I didn’t need a woman to weep at my hanging. When our group kidnapped an elite gifted woman known as The Wallflower, we hoped she’d bond with my brother, our leader. Then our side would have a team of time travelers to retrieve the supplies we desperately needed. But the feisty blonde had the nerve to walk into my life and claim my energy instead of my brother’s. In one fell swoop, she became the future and downfall I didn’t want. I must find a way to send her home before I fall for a woman I can’t have.
After a decade of waiting, Aria O’Malley still had hope of finding her bond partner… Being elite gifted meant I had my future laid out for me. I’d bond with a perfect man and fulfill my destiny of becoming part of a time traveling team. I kept waiting, only to be kidnapped by rebel forces. My energy chooses a brooding, sexy outlaw who wants nothing to do with me. I refuse to settle for someone who only sees my value as the second strongest gifted female on Earth, and Jax has underestimated my other magical abilities. All I need to do is wait for the right moment to make my escape…
Freezing Time is the second book in the exciting Bonded Souls series. This enemies-to-lovers romance features a grumpy hero with a cinnamon roll heart and a spunky heroine. Jump into this magical new world by Mia Downing today!
Mia Downing started creating heroes at age four, but her heroes back then rode ponies to the rescue and only kissed her on the cheek. Today, Mia’s heroes still rescue those in need, but the price of their toys and the expertise of their seduction leads to a whole lot more.
When Mia isn’t busy creating new stories for her readers, she ensures justice runs smoothly in a New England courthouse. She lives on a small farm with her family, and enjoys horses and knitting.
Fun facts: Mia can juggle poorly, create balloon animals, and face paint. She was the hit entertainment of two family parties. No clown suits were involved.
Much had been lost in the future and the people were segregated. Despite having put in her best efforts, it looked like destiny didn’t want to favor Aria O'Malley and she already had given up hope of having a bond partner. We found a Jax Fortier affected by traumatic experiences, constantly battling his demons, blind to sound reasoning and turning his back on opportunities to turn his life around for the better. Didn’t like all the effort to deal with him. Aria and Jax were complex characters that had not followed the role determined for them in their futuristic society. I was struck by the energy and how it kept them constantly struggling with their feelings and emotions. I found interesting and intriguing this world where the lives of gifted people were designed for the welfare of society, and I liked that there were those who broke the rules. Got to know more about the gifted, their role and how this can affect them during their lives something that left me with questions after had read Chasing Time. Liked Marek and Skye’s brief foray that brought continuity and more information to the story. An interesting and entertaining story with action, suspense, betrayal, strong emotions, drama, danger, time travel, romance, and passion.
I just love this series. This storyline took a way different turn than the first. I couldn’t put it down! I love how the author gave each book their own unique feel, yet tied them together.
