There, she finds herself at the mercy of an Unseelie prince with a strange offer—solve his Maze and he'll grant her deepest wish…
If she can live that long.
From USA Today Bestselling Author Kathryn Ann Kingsley comes this tantalizing, slow burn dark fantasy that proves sometimes the line between love and hate is razor thin.
Please This is a dark fantasy horror series with a love story. This series contains scenes of graphic violence. It is a slow-burn romance between the monstrous villain and the main character over the course of four books. My fae do not pull punches, and my Unseelie are not kind.
Kathryn has always been a storyteller. Years of scriptwriting for performances on stage and for tourism in Boston led her to writing romantically dark, fantastical tales, which was an obsession of hers that began once seeing The Phantom of the Opera at a young age.
When she isn’t penning new villainous leads, she works in video game development. There, she has been everything from Creative Director to Chief of Staff, Design Manager, Executive Producer, and Principal Writer for various companies in the industry.
She shares her antique home with three very fluffy animals and one very patient and loving husband.

I really enjoyed most of book 1.
The banter between Valroy and Abigail was very fun. He was tricky and deliciously evil and she was able to challenge and handle him, as needed. I liked her magic and the tricks she had up her sleeve that allow her to be a worthy opponent in their game.
But...as I got to the end of book 1 and into book 2, the dynamic changed a bit. Things happened that annoyed me to no end.
Then, into book 2 - the story started to feel like another series written by K Kinsley, Harrow Faire. In that series, the MMC was detested by all, except the FMC. Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed that series and made it all the way to the beginning of book 5 of 5 but I don't necessarily want a repeat. In this series, no one wants the MMC to take the throne, even his closest allies (not a spoiler - it's a running theme from the get go). It's like everyone is against him when really, he is just acting out his nature, a being that was created with one purpose in mind. Abigail should be able to see that his actions don't match what others are telling her. The direction of the storyline made me kind of mad. At one point, I began to feel a bit frustrated with EVERYONE. So I left it for a while and now have no desire to return.
I think that if I carry on with the series, that things will work itself out. The writing is engaging and the world is pretty cool and intricate. I like the details that have gone into creating the different factions of Seelie and Unseelie. It's a series I think that is worth trying - just not for me right now, given the mood I'm in.
Bestill my heart, I do believe Valroy had captured my heart as the villainous soft lover (sounding hot asf). From the saucy moments between him and Abby, to the undeniably sweet moments, I could not put this book down. Kinda made my boyfriend mad that I wouldnt and that I kept swooning over the undeniable bad boy. You like piercings? Hes got it. You like tattoos? Hes got it. You like fangs? Hes got it. You like claws? You bet hes got it.
The only reason I am giving this a four star is because in my opinion, I wish it had a better ending. But be warned, those who wonder if youd wonder if you should read it.
It does have gore, it does mention rape, and if for some ODD reason youre a homophobe in this day and age, then this probably isnt the book for you.
I have been busy these days re-reading this series. And let me tell you I loved it more than the first time I did read it. But with a second reading comes second opinions and you pay more attention to the details.
If last time I hated Abigail until book three and I never saw much growth in her character, well now that changes. I adore her, how she desperately wanted to keep her humanity while others maybe would not, and give themselves to Valroy and let him burn everything. I love her never ending kindness even to those who betrayed her. I just like that even if she got enormous power and falling in love with the most dangerous creature ever to exist she remained a warm, kind and forgiving woman, but with time she became fierce, a force, a true leader and queen of Seelie.
Valroy yes, had character growth, learning to love Abigail but actually not much than that. We know that yes he is loyal to those who are truly loyal to him. But he remains what he is: deceiving, a trickster and very macabre, and that is his role. He is the villain even if he is the love interest. Abby and Valroy love each other as they are and none of them truly wants the other to change who they are. They are Life and Death, Day and Night, Lovers and Enemies. The opposites that attract.
Titania and Oberon. Now here you might disagree with me but Titania was absolutely right in almost everything she did/said. She was the voice of ration and logic. Any sane person would do what she did to protect her people, her enemies and also earth. Oberon was just there, not much thought about him. I cried at the funeral of Oberon, truly feeling that Titania lost her half. Her pain was splendidly written, same was the scene of Abigail’s death and how Valroy reacted.
I still love Anfar ( my favourite character of the series) just as much as I did the first time I read the series. Perrin is the perfect match for our lovely dramatic sea monster.
Lord Bayodan and Cruinn, love them, to the bits. Especially Cruinn who is absolutely adorable. They adore Abigail and are even ready to face death for their lady/queen.
This series made me laugh, cry and love everyone even Puck who added some “modern” flavour with his time/past/present jumping.
I just love Kathryn Ann Kingsley’s work. She always delivers and her way of describing everything truly amazes me. Can’t wait to return a 3rd,4th and many more times to Tìr n’Aill.

I’m a big fan of Kathryn’s writing. She has an ability to bring such an irresistible darkness to light. She has so much love for her characters and her storytelling is thought-provoking in addition to fantastical.
This series was par for the course. Valfoy was a delicious villain and every interaction with Abigail kept me enthralled in their story. When she writes villains, she doesn’t so much redeem them as she explores them and their madness. She brings you into their world and you can’t help but want to stay there. Valfoy’s cruelty was apparent but, as usual, it was not the sum whole. I loved his character’s childlike/obsessive demeanor and Abigail was such an amazing counter. She really grounds his darkness allowing them to balance and become two sides of the same coin.
Overall: 4.6/5 - Wasn't ready to leave this world and the characters.

I enjoyed the first 3 books but the last one really ticked me off and turned me off. Ruined the who!e series for me!!! She cared more for her Friendly wanna be female lover than she did for him and wow she even displayed more understanding for the seelie queen than him. She allowed him to be tortured over and over yet was still so polite ... Val's character was clear /concise but Abigail was just TSTL a whiner that flip flopped the whole series and when you finally think ok they're on the same page. She flips again and betrays him again. Nope, a convoluted ending. Ugh!! just Delete, Delete.
The first book lured me in. I do not like books that you have to read the next one to finish the authors thought. This whole series was a Good read full of twists and turns. I enjoyed reading Abigail and Valroy's tale. Glad it ended the way it did, though it could of ended before that point. Thanks for writing a Good reading experience.
Abagail and Valroy’s tumultuous and delicious relationship kept me flipping through page after page. Adventure, humor, horror, romance, and fantasy all rolled into one.
Thoroughly enjoyed re-reading this series again. Audio narration by Joel Froomkin is +++. Can't wait for the 4th book to be on audio. In the meantime I have the hardcopy.
This took me a few months to actually get through because there was some real disturbing scenes and I had to keep taking breaks, but man, was it a great spicy series.
