Set in a charming small town on beautiful Cape Cod, The Baby’s Christmas Blessing is a standalone read with cameos from your favorite characters from Falling for the Innkeeper.
What a sweet romance about a couple who has trouble letting go of the past! Steve Weston has a secret tragedy in his past that keeps him from moving forward and Chloe Richardson has a devastating breakup in hers that causes her to not be able to trust her feelings. The two of them are brought together by Steve’s nephew, baby Aidan, a child in Steve’s custody since his mom died. Steve needs a child care worker and Chloe steps in to fill that role. The two have a history together which makes their reunion bittersweet. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting this characters who were flawed and realistically well developed. The romance was warm and satisfying without adding details that I am uncomfortable reading. The plot was tightly written, moving quickly from the complications in their relationship to the inevitable and remarkable ending. Although the ending was a foregone conclusion from the beginning, I really enjoyed reading the story and finding out how the two would overcome their difficulties with the past and with each other. And who doesn’t like a romance that includes a cute newborn? The secondary characters were also fun to get to know, especially Chloe’s brother Brett, a guy with a lot of wisdom for his years and a great sense of humor. This book is a fast read and perfect for holiday reading or any other time of the year that you feel the need to read a book that is heartwarming and enchanting. The Baby’s Christmas was a wonderful touching story. A brother taking responsibility for raising his sister’s infant son, after her death, a young woman who has always put others needs and wishes before her own plans and dreams. Each embarking on a new endeavor, suddenly thrown together for the benefit of the baby. A long-ago budding romance between the two and a secret he doesn’t want to reveal, only add to the drama, pain, joy, laughter and tears of this well written story.
At times it felt like I was reading a true story not a work of fiction. Meghann has used real life problems, faced everyday in this crazy world to weave a faith-based story it’s hard to put down. She showed how pride can cause a person to forget that we are to give and receive help from those around us, in those times a helping hand can bless the giver as well as the receiver.
One of the best books I’ve read in a while. I am sure you will enjoy it. Cathy C
The Baby’s Christmas Blessing by Meghann Whistler is a Love Inspired sweet romance.
First of all, is this cover not the most adorable one ever? I couldn’t wait to read this story just because of how cute the cover is! And the story was just as sweet.
This second-chance romance between Steve and Chloe touches on deep emotions as it centers around caring for Steve’s little nephew. Chloe has a heart of gold and Steve is a wounded hero in need of a Christmas miracle. The holidays are a perfect backdrop for this story.
It’s hard to put into words the story itself. But it has all the Christmas feels, with a tiny newborn and a sweet romance all wrapped into a wonderful tale. I definitely recommend adding this book to your Christmas list this year!

So many things to love about this unputdownable book! From second chance romance, fake dating, forgiveness, redemption, community love, the spirit of the season, small town romance, to found faith, this will hit you in the feels. I absolutely adored the cover too.
These characters were layered and it was so delightful to discover who they were. My heart really became invested in Steve and his history. He was worthy of all of his dreams and seeing him believe in himself was fantastic. Chloe was a very dynamic character. She had so many of these complicated thoughts and feelings. And toward the conclusion I was a bit irate at her. I really wanted to see her take the leap of faith earlier... but she wasn't ready yet. There's no rushing a good plot. Which this sincerely was. Throw a baby into the mix drawing old flames together and watch the sparks ignite.
If you're in the mood for a sweet and clean romance with a holiday feel, this should be at the tippy top of your to be read pile.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
What a wonderful story! I loved the way the author brought the characters to life. Steve is suddenly the sole guardian of his newborn nephew, Aiden, when his sister passes away. He needs a nanny to help so he can get back to his physical therapy business. His aunt hires Chloe who Steve had met many years ago. Both now have history of failed relationships. Can they make it work this time? A great story to get lost in! I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
This is a Clean Christmas Second-Chance Romance. I really loved the characters in this book, and the storyline pulled me into it right away. I did not feel there was a ton of Christmas in this book, but that did not bother me. This was a fast moving and great read. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Meghann Whistler) via Booksirens, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
This is a Christmas Romance and a second chance romance. I liked that it was a clean read and inspirational. I loved the characters because they were always supportive of each other. The theme of the book was to let go of the past because it’s too late to change what happened back then. Be willing to forgive those that have hurt you in the past for your own peace of mind. One of the main characters had come from a abusive past and he was still affected by it in his adult years. This was a story of healing and forgiveness and embracing the future. I thought it was realistic because there are a lot of hurting adults today still suffering because of abuse in their growing up years. The story had a wonderful ending and I thought the book was well written.
Chloe Richardson suffered from deep depression when she was younger. A summer romance at a day camp ended and left her deeply depressed because the young man didn’t get in touch with her again after camp. Then in later years when both her parents died in a car wreck she suffered from depression again and was still getting therapy for it. A bad romance with her cheating boyfriend didn’t help. She planned to go to Boston to take a six month teaching internship but before she left town her past caught up with her again.
Steven Weston suffered from an abusive past and had never gotten over it. His Sister had died in Child birth and Steven had become legal guardian to her baby Aiden. Steven was just starting a new business as a physical therapist and had opened a center in town. He needed someone to watch Aiden while he worked. He was deeply in debt because of unexpected expenses for his sister’s funeral and hospital debts. Then when Chloe applied for the job of nanny for Aiden, temporarily over the holidays, Steven realizes that he knows Chloe from his teen years when he attended summer camp in Cape Cod. Would she still be willing to take the position as nanny because of the way he had ended their summer romance?
I recommend this book to readers of Contemporary romance and for those who enjoy reading Love Inspired Romances.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed here in this review are my own.
This book is all about second chances, in life, in love, in forgiveness, and faith. What a wonderful story. I love books with single dads and babies and this one didn’t disappoint. Steve never expected when his sister passed leaving him with her son that his high school camp girlfriend would be his nanny. Chloe is still just as kind and beautiful as she ever was, but he has things in his past that could get in the way of their friendship, and there’s no chance for anything more. Chloe has plans that don’t include a man. After her cheating ex her focus is to earn money and finish her teaching degree. No matter how sweet it is to see Steve with Aiden, she doesn’t plan to get distracted. The question is, does God have different plans? This was a quick to read, inspirational romance that I enjoyed immensely.
Love Inspired books are some of my favorite books to read. I know that they'll not only be clean romance but also they'll have an inspirational, faith-filled message. Those words fit The Baby's Christmas Blessing perfectly.
In The Baby's Christmas Blessing, Chloe and Steve get a second chance...a chance to mend hurts and maybe a chance at love. Years ago a young Steve broke a young Chloe's heart. It happens to the best of us. If you've ever had your heart-broken, you can relate to Chloe's wariness when she discovers that the summer nanny job she's hoping to land, lands her right back into Steve's life. After all, he hurt her tremendously, and she had no closure! I really love second chance romance stories because, from the beginning, we know what is keeping the two main characters apart. Hurt. Heartbreak. Misunderstanding. Those are issues to which all readers can relate.
The way that the author brings Chloe and Steve together after all of these years is just so perfect. When you read The Baby's Christmas Blessing, you'll see exactly what I mean. The circumstances that lead Steve and Chloe to this exact town at exactly the right moment shows how God was using everything in their lives, even the awful things, to bring them together. When awful things happen, we question why. Why did God allow this to happen? What could possibly be the purpose? I have been there. I've questioned and railed against God when really bad things have happened in my life. But as a Christian, I have also learned that my thoughts are not God's thoughts, and my ways are not His ways. And He gives us peace that passes all understanding. The author beautifully expresses this in her writing. God knows our stories.
I love the characters in The Baby's Christmas Blessing and was happy to "see" some of the characters from Falling for the Innkeeper. You can absolutely read this book without reading that one though I loved and totally recommend it too! These characters leap off the page and feel so real. They are just like we are with both strengths and flaws. You'll love them!
With its inspiring message of love and forgiveness, its wonderfully written characters, and its beautiful second chance love story, The Baby's Christmas Blessing is a book I highly recommend!
She REALLY needs the money — and is willing to take care of beautiful baby
Turns out she knows the baby’s uncle — and he left her after one kiss!!! But she REALLY needs the money. And they can work around it, right? Terrific story - totally loved it.
I loved the holiday setting as Aiden and Chloe are reunited when his aunt hires her to be an emergency nanny for Aiden's infant nephew after his sister unexpectedly dies. Chloe was extremely hurt when Aiden didn't keep in touch after a summer kiss as youth, but as the story progresses we learn about Aiden's unfortunate family circumstances which makes it easier for her to find closure and forgive him. Their attraction is still there, however they are both in transitional phases of life which keeps them holding back. It was difficult to see how they could make a future work without Chloe giving up her dream of teaching, but the magic of the holidays and the love of a sweet baby helped them overcome their challenges and find a way forward together.

The Baby’s Christmas Blessing was such a sweet and uplifting second chance at love story. I really felt for both of the main characters. Their teenage romance fell apart many years ago when Steve left after summer church camp and never contacted Chloe again.
Both of these characters carried their own form of baggage, yet they worked together to try to provide the best situation for Steve’s nephew, Aiden. Their interactions together felt realistic to me. At times, they fell into an easy friendship and shared things about their lives. Other times, emotions and nerves flared and being around each other was difficult.
The author dealt with some serious issues and concerns in this story and was still able to keep the message an encouraging one. There was also a solid faith thread throughout the novel, as well.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
What a sweet story this was. A young man raising his newborn nephew and facing nearly impossible odds and old heartaches hires as a nanny a girl he once knew and cared for. That girl also has heartaches. But read on to see what God can do with our problems! Precious!
Physical therapist Steve Weston has yet another unbelievable tragedy piled upon his already heavy-laden shoulders. Something is different this time, though. This tragedy comes with a treasured, sweet gift—his newborn nephew, Aiden.
Student teacher Chloe Richardson has experienced grief, physical and emotional pain, disappointment, and abandonment in her life. She has made some decisions which she regrets, and now she's looking to answers on how she will navigate the rest of her life on her own terms.
Steve and Chloe knew each other as teenagers when they attended the same summer church camp. They were attracted to each other back then, but things ended on a negative note for the young couple. Many years later they are brought together by Aiden's need for a nanny.
This story is filled with a lot of emotion, misunderstandings, miscommunications, and fear of making the wrong life-changing choices. An excellent cast of supporting characters added depth to the story.
At times I felt the challenges facing Steve and Chloe were insurmountable. As the author deftly reveals the many layers of scar tissue this pair has surrounding their hearts, we learn how courageous and strong these two individuals truly are.
The faith element is subtle, and the romance thread is sweet. The tender loving care given to Baby Aiden is central to the story. No one wants to let this innocent child down. The book is completely clean in language and content.
I received a copy of this book from the author through JustRead Publicity Tours. All of my opinions and thoughts shared here are solely my own.
Steve is raising his newborn nephew and hires Chloe to be his temporary nanny. Both Steve and Chloe have personal issues they need to work through. This a great uplifting romantic story involving second chance and forgiveness. The characters are wonderful and relatable, and the message is inspirational. I received an ARC of this story from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
'Tis the season for miracles, and Steve and Chloe are both due for some Christmas magic. There's such great chemistry between these two and the banter is so much fun! I was chortling and swooning all the way through. And sometimes fuming because these two are s-t-u-b-b-o-r-n!!!! Luckily they have a lively, caring community that has their backs. And some folks might have a wee bit of matchmaking tendencies which also adds to the fun.
But there's a serious side to this romance as well as both hero and heroine struggle with grief and loss from their pasts and challenges in their present. And then there's adorable baby Aiden the catalyst that brings Chloe and Steve back together again. He comes with enough newborn angst to frazzle the most stoic uncle and caregiver. Equal parts funny and tender and brought back fond memories of those demanding early weeks. Who needs sleep anyway? Or eardrums? lol
There's also a nice light-to-medium Christmas ambiance that makes this a heartwarming holiday read.
I was fortunate enough to read an early copy of this sweet Christmas story and I love it! This second chance romance will leave you with all the feel good fuzzies and wishing for the holidays. Chloe and Steve are easy to relate to. I especially connected with Chloe and adored the ending with all its sweetness! I highly recommend this book to any reader who enjoys uplifting Christian books.
This book is a page turner!! Following the story of Chloe who had her heart broken as a teen by Steve when they were both at summer church camp, to the present day, when she answered an ad for a nanny. But who would she be working for other than Steve, whose father was in prison, had just lost his sister and he was now raising her son. Could life get any more complicated? How could this arrangement ever work? Would there possibly be a future for Chloe and Steve or was there too much past? This author has quickly become a favorite of mine!!
The LOVE Inspired series of books is one of my favorite series. I LOVE the variety of Authors who publish under this brand. I also like that they are short and easy books to read. The Baby's Christmas Blessing by Meghann Whistler is the latest book in this series I have read.
WOW, I really enjoyed this book from the very beginning! The main characters, Steve and Chloe have a history together, but Steve pushed Chloe away from him many years ago. I like how Chloe was open to being a Nanny to Steve's nephew whom he is caring for since his sister passed away, even after a failed relationship in the past with Steve. Both Steve and Chloe have had traumatic pasts both in childhood and adulthood, which make having a relationship with some hurdles to overcome. I truly enjoyed seeing Chloe and Steve take on the task of raising baby Aiden and in the process begin to trust and love each other again. This is a "Second Chance Romance" book with a Christmas theme. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Romance books! FANTASTIC BOOK!
I LOVED Chloe and Steve's story!! And Aiden!!! Steve's sister passes away after giving birth to Aiden, totally unexpectedly, from a stroke. Steve and Eloise had planned to move to the house they'd inherited from their grandfather to raise Aiden together. So, Steve goes back with Aiden alone. His aunt helps him find a nanny, who turns out to be Chloe, the girl Steve fell in love with one summer, then never contacted again, as he though for sure she would turn him away when she found out what his father had done. Especially after his last girlfriend told him he was probably just like his father. Chloe feels so sorry for Steve, yet she's drawn to him just like she was that long ago summer. She's so afraid of being hurt again, after her last boyfriend cheated on her. Will these two be able to see that neither is their ex, and that God can be trusted??
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
I enjoyed this book. It was a lovely setting with wonderful writing. Though I'm not a fan of the "fake dating" trope in Christian fiction, honestly, even though it was brought up, it didn’t feel like a "thing" in this particular novel. If you're someone who is usually put off by that, it wasn't a huge part of the plot.
I loved the small town feel to the story, where everyone knows everyone. I also enjoyed the Christmasy feel to it, even though Christmas didn't take over the story.
Both of the main characters had deep emotional wounds, and they had to work to overcome them. I loved that they both grew by the end of the story.
Overall, I recommend this to anyone who enjoys sweet Christian romances with a small town feel and Christmas romances.
I received a free copy of this book from the author, but it was not in exchange for a review, nor was I asked or required to write one.
Such a sweet story! Even with the charms of Christmas and a newborn baby, Meghann deals with some tough topics and they bring a depth to this story. Everyone has some baggage and life experiences that shape them, and they can overcome those adversities. With the book set in Cape Cod, I love that characters from her previous book make appearances. The community they live in and how everyone helps each other to be the best person they can be made for lovely reading.
"Asking for help isn't a weakness you need to apologize for, Weston. It's a sign of strength."
"When the Lord says it's my time to go, I'll go gladly, but until then, I'm going to surround myself with the people I love."
This was such a charming holiday romance. I really enjoy second chance romance stories, and this one was just about perfect. Steve's less than stable childhood added a dramatic layer to the story and Chole's struggles made for a great match for Steve's baggage. The story was a sweet and easy read with an ending that fit the story well. I have had Meghann's earlier Love Inspired book on my TBR for far too long and after meeting the characters from that book in this one, I will be reading it super soon. Now I just need Brett's story! I sure hope his story is planned!!
I received this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
This is a fairly short but emotion filled story of losses and gains, misconceptions and faith-based actions. Steve Weston and Chloe Richardson had a history together, beginning in their young lives. Even at their earlier years, they were drawn toward each other but family circumstances and community prejudices pulled them apart. Each had grown up to be upstanding adults but events that had occurred to them made them doubt who they really were and their own values. Chloe applied for a temporary nanny job to supplement her income until she could fulfill her life’s dream of teaching. Interviewed by Steve’s great-aunt, she didn’t know that the baby was Steve’s nephew whom he took in upon the death of his sister. Old hurts came to surface but were set aside for the best welfare of Steve’s nephew, Aiden. As they learned together to put Aiden foremost in their priorities, they also learned to open those lines of communication so deeply needed. This was a realistic story of plans and dreams made and lost and looking for the possibility of finding them again. With the support of each other and their small but close community, they learned the blessings of receiving as well as giving. Each explored the depths of their faith and looked for new guidance and meaning. The underlying belief that each of us is a child of God was reinforced throughout the story and it opened the hearts, dreams and possibilities as nothing else could.
The Baby's Christmas Blessing by Meghann Whistler is her 2nd book for Love Inspired. I loved the first book so much and this one doesn't disappoint. I love books at Christmas time. They produce all the feels. It really is the most wonderful time of the year. Although I think in the beginning of this book, Chloe and Steve would beg to differ. Steve Weston has just opened up a new business as a physical therapist. He's also the guardian of his nephew Aidan because his sister died in childbirth. He's dealing with a lot of baggage from his past. It seems everything is going wrong for him. Chloe Richardson is looking for a job to help fund her lifelong dream of teaching. She's had bad experiences in the past as well. In fact, one involving Steve. That's right this is a book about 2nd chances. When Steve and Chloe were teenagers they met at a summer camp. Unfortunately, she never heard from Steve again after it ended. Steve is desperate for Chloe to take the nanny position of watching Aidan. Will she after she realizes she knew him way back when? Will God help these two lost souls let go of past abuses and old hurts? This is a beautiful beautiful example about finding love again the 2nd time around. It will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy just in time for Christmas! PS...there is an epilogue! I thought you'd like to know. LOL. PPS. I absolutely adore the cover. I was given a copy by the author, but all opinions are my own.
steve is suddenly the sole guardian of his newborn nephew, Aiden, when his sister passes away. He needs a nanny to help so he can get back to his physical therapy business. His aunt hires Chloe who Steve had met many years ago. Both now have history of failed relationships. Can they make it work this time? This was a quick read for me that I couldn't put down until I finished it.i received an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed here in this review are my own.
The Baby's Christmas Blessing is a new novel by Meghann Whistler. I enjoyed this book and I thought the characters were realistic and well written. Baby Aiden lost his mother in childbirth and is being raised by his uncle, Steven. I liked that Chloe has a history with Steven and she is hired as the nanny. This inspirational story is well written and I found this story an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon reading. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
