I have thought about learning Tarot for many years but I was not sure how to start. Serendipitously, I stumbled across this book and it is exactly what I was looking for. Misty J. Kinsman has written what I would call a primer for all things Tarot.

You can tell the author wrote this book from a very personal place in her heart and you can feel it as you read...I honestly don't care how dorky that sounds...it is what it is. She very gently tells you what Tarot Cards are and are not. She thoroughly explains what you should look for when buying your cards and explains how to buy the right type of card, depending on your interest, or even hand size. She is objective about everything and makes it clear that any insight given from reading the cards does not come from the cards, rather from the person reading the cards. She then explains what that all means. It's really kind of awesome.

Ms. Kinsman empowers every reader to be confident that each of us can learn to read Tarot cards. She is tremendously humble throughout the book. I think one of the biggest things I got out of this book is to understand how important it is to pay attention to every detail of the spread. It's not just the card but also the combination of them. Also, a reading is never about me, rather it is a service to be freely provided. Kudos to the author.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
