This was a very sweet BL manga about an actor whose upcoming role requires him to temporarily live with his co-star- a young child who will play his little brother. The child is adorable, and there are definitely some moving moments in this. It all moved very quickly though, and it felt like there was more emphasis on the characters' feelings about acting rather than their feelings for each other. The themes of self-acceptance and family were strong, but the romance was just a bit too subtle. The leads were cute together, but I needed more between them. The character art was gorgeous though.

Definition of short and sweet. It's a must-read if you need a pick me up. I wish it was longer tho since the romance aspect felt rushed. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed their confession. I just felt like they needed at least a few more chapters of getting to know each other. If that bit didn't feel too rushed, this would most definitely be a 5 star for me.

The more I think about it, the more this feels like a truncated outline version of what could have been a very good story. It's still fine, and I like its reflection on child stardom, but it just isn't quite enough.

you ever read a BL and look at the author's social media and see what fandoms they're in and realize the manga is literally just their favorite ship reskinned? i support it though. this story in particular felt like a headcanon that grew into its own 6 chapter story. it was cute, but the leads don't really have enough moments together for it to feel convincing

I found the premise a little too unbelievable. Same with the MC: The MC's behaviour and morals were unconvincing. Even the love interest felt unrealistic. Honestly, I was just unable to suspend my disbelief and by the way, there is no speculative element here so... yeah.

What made you happy won't necessarily make other people happy. People's feelings aren't black or white.

Ren Fujimaru tuvo una mala experiencia con un niño actor, así que ahora prefiere mantenerse alejados de ellos, pero en su próxima película compartirá la pantalla con Yuu Kusaka de 5 años. ¿La mejor solución para superar su incomodidad? Convivir con Yuu durante una semana, y eso incluye al agente Kei Haruo, el antiguo actor que inspiró a Ren en el camino de la actuación.

El arte es precioso en esta tierna historia sobre el mundo de la actuación infantil y lo difícil que puede ser el demandante ambiente profesional tanto para los niños como para sus compañeros adultos.

La trama está enfocada en la convivencia de Ren y Yuu, pero también ahonda un poco en Kei y lo que representa crecer para un niño actor y ya no ser el "genio de la actuación" porque dejan de tener la imagen adorable que buscan los productores. Además, echamos un vistazo a los sentimientos de Yuu, que quiere ser actor, pero también quiere ser niño y pasar más tiempo con su mamá, la ocupada directora de la agencia.

La historia solo abarca un volumen, así que los temas están tratados muy superficialmente, e incluso la atracción entre Ren y su ídolo Kei parece desarrollarse excesivamente rápido. Pero sobre todo es un manga bastante entretenido y deja con el corazón calentito de lo bonito que es el final para todos.

One-Week Family is fundamentally a story about seeing other sides of people, with a focus on child actors (both current and former) and how they see themselves in others.

However, while it is a nice, fluffy read for the most part, it is held back by a few very contrived plot points that can cause the reader to lose their suspension of belief. One of these is unfortunately the entire premise of the romance, which makes the first half of the ending feel very, very rushed. If the story did not have BL affixed to the title, I’m quite sure that this part of the ending might feel like it came out of nowhere, especially because the main adult characters liking other men (or each other in a romantic sense, more glaringly) is not exactly communicated during most of the plot.

In addition, a focus on the three main characters in general means that the child actor part actually ends up being underutilized. There was a lot of potential here that sadly ended up being secondary to the plot.

Still, I enjoyed reading this story, though I wouldn’t really go out of my way to recommend it to actual gay men.

Kurczeeee, już byłam gotowa dać 5 gwiazdek, ale wszystko zepsuł wątek romantyczny. Osobiście uważam, że ta manga byłaby znacznie lepsza, gdyby relacja pomiędzy głównymi bohaterami ograniczała się wyłącznie do wzajemnego podziwu. Romantyczne uczucia mi tu nie pasowały. Być może były po prostu źle wplecione - wyszło nienaturalnie. Jednak jestem w stanie przymknąć na to oko. Jest to w końcu jednotomówka ograniczona ilością stron. Niemniej jednak sam pomysł na fabułę mi się podobał, historia była ciekawa i przyjemna. Polecanko ^^

Il y avait de la pertinence dans l’approche critique des enfants stars, mais ne va pas au bout de son sujet. C’est beaucoup trop naïf à mon gout. Je n’ai pas trop cru aux ‘révélations’ de Kei qui m’ont rendu assez perplexe.

Cela reste un Shonen-Ai plutôt mignon, trop générique, manquant d’émotion subtile et palpable pour moi, mais avec vocation à de bons sentiments et joliment dessiné.

Cela ne sera pas un manga que je garderai en mémoire, mais qui ne fait pas de mal à découvrir pour avoir du baume au cœur.

I decided to read this manga without any expectations. Yeah, it’s my first time reading Yatsuhashi-sensei’s work, and I was surprised by how much I liked it!

The story is simple, neat, and easy to follow. Even though it doesn’t have any angst, it’s still emotional while being pretty lighthearted overall.

If you’re a yaoi reader looking for sexy smutty scenes, you won’t find that here. This manga is very subtle and doesn’t need an over-the-top romantic storyline.

Une histoire toute mignonne mais avec un rythme peut-être un peu trop rapide à mon goût. Avec quelques détails qui m’ont derangé au début (à propos de Yuu et du fait que les adultes se disent qu’il est satisfait de son rythme de vie alors que personne ne prend le temps de lui poser la question.)

C'était adorable. J'ai aimé le postulat de départ avec le malaise de Ren face aux enfants et j'ai aimé voir les trois personnages s'ouvrir, se découvrir et s'attacher. J'aurais aimé en avoir plus, par plaisir, mais aussi pour un développement plus profond et moins rapide, mais dans l'ensemble, c'est une lecture doudou avec une forme adorable et un fond touchant.

Kurdeee jakie to było fajne, boże urocze naprawdę urocze. Mimo że tutaj nie skupiamy się zabardzo na miłości a na aktorstwie i fabułę. To kurde i tak to było świetne. Naprawdę zajebiście się przy tym bawiłam ( dzięki tej mandze trochę bardziej przekonałam się do dzieci )

Z jednej strony milutkie to było, nawet udało się kilka łez wycisnąć że mnie. Na końcu jednak nastąpiło przyspieszenie, które zepsuło wszystko, plus zabrakło mi czegoś więcej po pewnym wyznaniu, gdyby była to co najmniej dylogia, to pewnie można by to lepiej rozłożyć
