I never believed in monsters until they staked their claim on me. Now I belong to them.
I should have minded my business. If I had, I wouldn't be in this mess. And by this mess, I mean being held prisoner in the monster realm.
Maybe I'll learn one day.
My captors are as sexy as they are lethal, and while I'm terrified of them, I can't deny the insatiable desire that draws me to them. No matter what I do, I can't shake the feeling.
And I'm not sure I want to.
A Monstrous Claim is a paranormal reverse harem romance. It has a sassy main character, a hint of mystery, and three monsters that will have you fearing the dark, or craving it.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and the plot was well thought out. The sex scenes were 🥵😂. My only disappointment is that it’s a standalone, i need more rafe!! 😂
"Do not come up here again unless you want to be bound, bruised, and brutally punished. Do you understand?" - Rafe, A Monstrous Claim by R.K. Pierce
Rafe could slap me in the face and I'd say thank you. That's probably the best way to start this review. If you're looking for something dark mixed in with paranormal elements and of course, filled with spice, this is the book for ya'll. With three, hot, broody men you're bound (hah reference to the quote) to fall for one. Hint: It's most likely going to be Rafe because we read books for morally grey men and that's definitely him but you do you. I read this book in one sitting because of its fast pace so once this book is out, prepare to just sit back and call it a day with this one.
Also can we just talk about the authors note in this one, it's so cute!!
Thank you to the author for providing me with this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Attention everyone: This book is just meant for grown-ups!
My very first in the reverse harem, polyamorous genre. Monsters, various portals, folklore fantasy narratives weren't usually my cup of tea, but R. K. Pierce changed it with this very intense story. So, I want to thank the author for supplying me with an e-ARC; I am leaving this review in exchange for the e-copy. I wish this one is not simply a standalone & has a sequel shortly, as it can do considerably more.
I understand I must be repeating myself, but I have to say that I absolutely enjoyed reading the tale. The explicit settings are so meticulous; I never guessed anyone was capable of documenting them so effortlessly. What with demons & their unusual body form, it honestly demands a lot of innovative & visionary consideration from the writer's side. I adored how she concocted three extremely distinct male personalities & a wildly strong-headed, self-reliant female character.
I would suggest this novel exclusively to adults who fancy swoon-worthy models, steamy settings; you are in for a ride & won't be disappointed.
Wow I enjoyed this story so much ! I didn't want it to end. Devyn was such a fun, lovable character. I must say my favorite of the 3 men was Rafe🥵🥵🥵. The plot was amazing, i was hooked from the first page. The writing was amazing. And the monster smutt was HOTTTTTTT !!!! I honestly can't recommend this enough.
“There’s just something about a bad guy who’s morally gray and has a way with words that makes you have to change your panties.”
✮✮✮✮✮
Devyn, an Uber driver, picks up two businessmen for their ride. She ends up chauffeuring them around the whole night, and starts asking questions. Leaving a lot of questions unanswered, she spots them in her rear view mirror disappearing down a side alley rather than into the club she just dropped them at. Curiosity gets the better of her and she follows, getting herself lost in a realm full of monsters. But her monstrous captors stake their claim on her and make her theirs. They are terrifying and irresistibly sexy.
I inhaled this book! I loved the storyline, I loved the characters, and the relationships developed, and more than anything I loved the SMUTT. They were drip worthy scenes! Corr! However, I don’t like the fact this is a standalone novel, I need more! Bring out a sequel please? I need more Rafe in my life! That is something I could absolutely get behind.
When R.K. Pierce approached me and asked me to review this book for her, I was not expecting this, I think she really underplayed just how spicy it was. It’s extremely well written, and she really has done an incredible job! Smutt can be repetitive but this was on a new level.
If you need a read to inhale, and want some spicyness in your next read, get on and preorder this now!
I received this book as an ARC in return for an honest review.
I do not like the main female character. She seems vastly unrealistic. I don’t see any woman who drives Uber in a big city feeling unsafe with two large male passengers one moment and then wanting their number and to hook up the next. This is the theme of her. Each time something is dangerous or a strong emotion is felt she is over it instantly.
The perspective from the males was better written and more interesting. They had set needs, goals, hopes and desires that they were working toward. When something was against those things it took real thought and processing to move past.
While there is light flirting with more than one male, the only thing close to reverse harem for the first 75% of the book is a bit of voyeurism. Then the third male is brought in at roughly 95% of the book.
The ending was completely unfulfilling. The set up and world building had me hooked and I was expecting a cliffhanger of some sort. Instead we end with an epilogue with everything magically being cleaned up so that the dangers of the outside world are gone.
I’ve rated this a generous 3/5 stars because the male characters were interesting, the world well designed and something I would have read more of. The spice levels were good. However the main female character was fickle, and the ending was wrapped up like a television show that was unexpectedly cancelled early.

✳️Most great stories begin with protagonists doing something extremely stupid. That's what happened here too.✳️
🔹“I should have minded my business. If I had, I wouldn't be in this mess.”🔹
✳️Devyn is an Uber driver who is now working very hard to get the money for her rent. When two mysterious men came as her passengers, something about them bothered her. They were different. As soon as they get out of the taxi, she attempts to follow them. But she was taken aback by what she saw. Read on to find more about Devyn and these mysterious persons.✳️
✳️This book was way beyond what I expected. I don't often read reverse harem novels, but this one was really good. It had a really good plot (and smut) that can grab the attention of the readers from the very start. Her language was highly appealing and it was very easy to read.✳️
✳️Azarius, Elio and Rafe, interesting characters. Since I like morally gray characters more, Rafe is intimidating. And I really need to know more about this monster. So, I hope this is not a standalone. There are some questions left unanswered, so I'm sure there will be a second part of this book.✳️
I devoured this book! Monsters and next level smut. It’s a standalone book that I need to be a series. I want more. I want more Az, more Elio and 100 times more Rafe. If you’re looking for your next smutty monster book that you’ll devour, this is it.
It's unclear if this was meant to be a standalone book or the first book in a longer series, but I enjoyed the world and the dynamics between the men and the FMC Devyn and would love to read more. I did get a little irritated at the consistently TSTL decisions Devyn made, but the men more than made up for it, at least in the basic interactions and POVs we saw. The characters definitely could have been fleshed out more.
Review edit one week later: It looks like the title changed to Part 1, so it looks like we're getting more with Devyn and the men!
Don't ask me how I got myself reading monster romance 👀 I don't know.
*Sigh*..ok I know. Different kind of dicks are very interesting to me. There I said it. 🙈
Also the fact that these creatures have tails and some of them tentacles.. is fascinating. At least to me.
In this story we see this girl Devyn pretty much getting into trouble because she followed two of her customers right through a portal and into a new realm. Yes you read that right. She is an uber driver and she meets these two hot dudes, Azarius and Elio. She is instantly interested and does everything possible to show them that. But when it's time for these two to go she just follows them because she senses something strange with them.
As a result? When she sees them open a portal and go through it..she does the same. And then she has to face a completely new world. Of course in this new realm she is not safe and the two monster-men will do anything to protect her. Even claim her if that means that in this way she will not be hurt from other monsters.
I really tried to like the heroine. I REALLY REALLY tried. I mean..she fucked around and was direct and open-minded but I just couldn't connect with her. She had some of my favourite traits character speaking but for a reason I can't quite explain she was unlikeable. She irritated me a lot.
My favourite hero by far is Rafe. His bossy behaviour? His If-you-come-here-again-you-will-be-punished shit? His demon? His tentacl-y dick? 🔥 I'm dead. 🥵
You are probably thinking how dirty and crazy thing it is to read monster romance. Yet I am a dirty and crazy bitch that likes these kind of things. If you're too or you just feel extra kinky today give this book a try. It's not something over the top I promise. Just a little 👹 spicy..
***I've read in another review that this book has early "fun" but the fun came at 30%. And it was not even a complete sex scene. That is not early for me.. it's normal. ♥️
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. I haven’t read a paranormal romance in quite some time, so was interested in dabbling in this upcoming release! Devyn is an Uber driver, trying to scrape away any money she can to pay her share of rent for her and her friend’s apartment. She unexpectedly meets two business men one evening while driving in Atlanta. After the evening is over and she drops them off, she can’t seem to really leave them. She feels a connection to them she doesn’t understand. She follows them into an alley way, but what she discovers is beyond any human’s wildest imagination. This book had me hooked from the first chapter. Not only was the monster aspect of this story intriguing to me, but how a reverse harem dynamic could come into fruition into this story had me hooked. I only wish this story had been longer or had been broken up into a duet. I got the happily ever after I aways hope for, but I think it could have been worked for a little more. I won’t say that it negatively impacts my review though, because I usually struggle with angst, and was glad there wasn’t much of that in this book. If you like paranormal romance, absolutely read this book. I enjoyed it and read it in 24 hours. If there was a sequel to come about in the future, it be a definite one click for me.
I received this as an ARC to read in exchange for an honest review. In a human world, a young woman comes face to face with the fact that monsters, in fact, do exist and they have a realm all of their own!! Devlyn is an Uber driver who feels like her life is falling apart; she unexpectedly picks up two very handsome men that pull at feelings she's never had before! Following them, after their final drop-off, she ends up in the monster realm, and her life changes forever. This was a relatively short story, but it made up for it in spice!! The FMC and her monsters had a lot of chemistry, and with tails and tentacles involved, it definitely hit all the right spots. I really enjoyed this book; my only wish is that it had been longer, slightly more involved, and gave us more of the build-up between her other monsters. Overall, it was a really good book, and the need for more is definitely there.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶🌶 Devyn is an Uber driver who after a little bit of flirting with her clients. She follows them when they go down an ally and that’s where the fun begins.
Finding herself in the monster realm. Devyn ends up with two monster mates. Elio and Azarious are swoon worthy and the steamy scenes?? Hot hot hot 🥵
I really enjoyed this book but I’m a little disappointed that it’s a standalone. I’ve been left wanting so much more. I need more Rafe and to see what is developing with him and Devyn can we just discuss monster peen??? Because wow 🥵
I received an arc from the author in return for my honest review
I received an arc copy in exchange for an honest review ☺.
Holy smokes. Okay, this book was fire. Harem - check. Monsters - check. Alphahole - check. Sweetness -check. Spice - double check. Appendages that can be used for spicy time - check, check, check.
This book was amazing. I devoured it from start to finish, literally could not put it down. I neeeed Rafe in my life. I need Azarius in my life. I need an Elio in my life.
I really would love to see a sequel come out to this even though I think it's a standalone, but a girl can dream!
I devoured this book! Literally woke up to it in my kindle. It was so good and of course 🥵🥵 The idea of a monster realm with portals being made for them to conduct “business” in the human world is different than other books I’ve read and I found that I loved it! The way she described them, and the different kinds of creatures you can find in the “monster realm” was so intriguing! I’ve found with a lot of books like this I’ve read it’s mainly smutt with a little plot and honestly this book had an absolutely fantastic plot with some 🥵🥵 smutt scenes! I loved this, I can’t wait for its release so everyone else can read it as well!!
I devoured this book in one sitting! I liked the story line, the world building and character descriptions were easy to follow and were unique. I loved Devyn and her men. I think the only thing that stopped this from being a 5 star read for me was I wanted more of Az, Elio and Rafe. Would have LOVE LOVE LOVED to see some more of Rafe!
Sad this is a standalone, wish it could be made into a series!!!
OMG! I need more Rafe!!! Once you have this book in your hands you will understand that!
I received an ARC copy and am very happy that I did. This was a quick read and a stand alone. Trust me you will want more. The spice was very good and a mix of types. Well written and descriptive without being overly gross with it.
You will want more. This could have easily been a two or three part book and could have expanded more. That is the only reason I gave 4 stars. It was lacking in that sense for me.
I loved it from start to finish. It was an interesting read and although certain tropes were used, it still kept me hooked until the end. Can’t wait for another one!
This is my first book by this author and it was a delightful monster romance. Devyn is a down on her luck Uber driver when two strange passengers turn out to be more then she expected. She follows them into another realm where monsters, demons, and warlocks exist and it turns out she might not be so human herself. There was plenty of action and romance to keep up the pace of the story. I wish there was more resolution to the major conflict in the story as well as more development with one of her men. I feel if the story was a little longer it would have been more satisfying. If you want a fun, quick monster romance than this is your book.
Devyn starts off anxious AF while doing her Uber driving. She considers not even taking a job because of the increased drive length. She’s emotionally battered from a terrible and borderline abusive relationship. But then she suddenly turns into the ultra confident woman. It’s explained away in the name of “she’s curious”, but still didn’t jive with her character intro. Also… a bit confused about the speed of the fast burn for her. But that didn’t bother me as much. The spice was fun and it had a good mix of MMCs. The plot also had some potential.
Spice: 5/5
Triggers: violence, gore, force exhibitionism, dubcon
I have mixed emotions about this story. On one hand, I’m glad the story started fast but found it strange she was suddenly so interested in both men right away without explanation such as “I’ve been in a dry spell” Also wierd that she just jumped out of the car to follow them?! Why? Is she impulsive, nosey. Needed more character development on her part before this started to get a better idea of why anyone would make such strange illogical choices after knowing people for 15 mins. While the general story line was good it was lacking too many details for me to feel invested in the characters. It was a quick read which left lots to be desired. For example: We are Introduced to an entirely new realm with no explanation as to how/why it’s there and details like if time is the same or why monsters travel to the human realm aren’t there. We are told there are 4 types of creatures one of which is just “monsters” with no explanation to what that means. What makes a monster a monster? Some seem to be hybrids but does that mean they are part human? Or mixed monsters?! The main characters have no character development the girl seems to be emotionally closed off due to a past relationship (which is not described) but them willingly opens herself to 3 men without explanation. At one point she states she loves them out of no where. All men/monsters are obsessed with her but no explanation is given as to why. She finds out she has warlock in her but no explanation as to what that means and if she can wield magic. Rafe is the “king” but why? The king of what. A woman monster is mentioned yet we never hear of her again. They mention the Malev not being able to get through trees and suddenly they are under attack. The king is all powerful but is protected by trees that are close together?! Additionally after the attack a warlock places protection spells……..????? Shouldn’t that have been done already? Then the malevs state “we need to deliver her” huh? Who knows she exists. Overall the plot line was good but this feels like a summary not a book. There are holes that need detail and correction and character development. I think it had a good start though.

R K Pierce created a world full a dark possibility that pushed beyond the boundaries of this realm and into that of monsters. She seemly wove this exciting tale into something that pulled you through a portal into their world.
Devyn is a feisty and determined but she is also broken and damaged. Her heart and faith are broken and she struggles to trust anyone now. One uber fair, an instant connection and a pull to uncover their hidden secrets will change Devyns life forever.
Azarius and Elio are on business that spent quite gonto plan but what they don't realise is they are being followed back to their realm. I love how their relationship builds in their own times with Devyn making it more relatable. I adored how Az had 100% faith in Devyn from the beginning and knew she was more then just human and I may have squealed when he called her to save her but then didn't force her into anything. He waited for her to be ready for a monster he showed he was sensitive, caring and understanding. Elio came across as a grumpy soul but really he was just guarded and cared about Az more then he let on. He has feeling for Devyn but wouldn't push them on her, again he waited for her, who know monsters could be all about consent but when they come together boy is it hawt.
Rafe the big bad dark boss who is seriously powerful and a very strong dom, I totally loved him. I loved his battle between his feelings and his need to protect those who worked for him. I would have loved to know what became of his relationship with Devyn and what the guys thought.
This is a great visual read, with fantastic character connection and steamy hot hot hot scenes. It's one you don't want to miss.
Reading monster romance/books, you never know what approach an author will take. I just knew I was interested in this story from reading the blurb. Monsters seem to be on the popular side right now and having read a few recently, I jumped at the chance to get my hands on this.
The plot was very interesting and unique. The author wrote the book well and everything flowed pretty easily. I liked the story but there were just some minor things that personally bothered me. The story is considered reverse harem with three men. However, trying not to spoil too much, the FMC was only with one guy up until about 80% completion of the book. The third just happens at the very end and there’s very few interactions with him during the story. This is a standalone as well. For a harem to form so late in the book, there’s usually a sequel that goes in more depth of their relationship. Yet in this book, there’s really no real established relationship between the two last guys in the end. It just didn’t feel like a true reverse harem to me. I also feel that if the relationships developed quickly in the beginning it would’ve seemed too rushed but for a standalone I feel like it has to be a fast burn RH in order to fit everything in by the end of the book unless it’s fairly lengthy.
I was a little disappointed upon realizing this while reading the story but I was able to still enjoy the plot and reading the outcome of everything in the end. Overall, I feel the author did a great job telling Devyn’s story and experiences with these monsters. I’m interested in seeing what R.K. Pierce brings us in the future and reading more from her!
I would like to thank RK (the most awesome author ever) for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review 🥰
This is a monster reverse harem & I got hooked into the book from the very first line 😂 which still cracks me up.
Devyn is a 23 year old girl, who has kinda had a rough life and when we first meet her, she is an Uber driver. Where we meet two devilishly handsome men named Azarius & Elio during their Uber trip. She is trying to make ends meet and sometimes curiosity killed the cat.
One moment, Devyn was just dropping off those handsome men to a fancy club. Then suddenly, she’s following them through an alleyway and ends up in another dimension 🤯
Devyn wakes up to another realm and the men she just met are actually monsters! They both work for a man named Rafe, who is a very powerful monster and is trying to gather other monsters in defeating Malvecs (enemy monsters).
Most of this book is told from Devyn’s POV, but we also get a glimpse into Az, Elio & Rafe’s POVs 🤩
The spicy rating was off the charts and I need more of Az, Elio & Rafe in my life 😤😤 Az is a sweetheart but has a kinky side, Elio sees himself as a villain but he’s a loveable asshole and Rafe = I’d gladly will take any punishment from him 🤪
I hope we can get more from Devyn & her men since I feel like their story isn’t done yet. HOW IS THIS A STANDALONE?? 🥲

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book sent to me early and let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations immensely. It’s borderline reverse harem - okay, it’s definitely reverse harem - and the smut was NEXT LEVEL 😮💨 This isn’t one of those books that’s all smut and no plot, though. R.K. Pierce did an incredible job developing the storyline and the climax *wink wink* (please tell me someone gets the joke).
A Monstrous Claim was a quick read that anyone could devour in a day. In fact, I’d be shocked if you were actually able to put the book down once you started. Azarius and Elio had ME begging to be taken to a monster realm. I don’t blame Devyn one bit for wanting to stay. But Rafe 🥵🥵 He totally owns me. Maybe that’s just my obsession with morally grey characters. Devyn, I think we’re on the same page when it comes to toxic men, or should I say monsters 😏
Overall, the story had a great storyline and I loved the ending. I’d love it more if there were a sequel, though 😭 No, seriously. Please. I need more Rafe in my life. Would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes monsters, smut, and tall, hot men in general.

I really enjoyed this book! What a fun ride! It’s fun, adventurous, and steamy – plus I mean c’mon monsters! There’s so much to love here. Devyn is an uber driver who decides to do a bit of snooping on her latest riders because she feels a connection to them, and she lets her curiosity get the best of her. She decides to follow them. Boy, is she in for the surprise of her life when she ends up somewhere she never expected existed – the monster realm. I love the guys, Azarius, Elio, and Rafe. Az is sweet, loving, and supportive of Devyn. Elio takes a bit longer for their relationship to form but it makes it more believable. Rafe gets saved for last, and only complaint? I really wish the book had been longer, or made into a duet because I couldn’t get enough of him. He’s strong, powerful, and mysterious; he draws you in and doesn’t let go – much like the book as a whole. I had so much fun with this book! If you are looking for an fun read – something paranormal, with adventures, mysterious monsters, and some super delicious spice this is the book for you! 🖤
A Monstrous Claim is a paranormal reverse harem. Its a standalone with 3 hot monsters and a feisty FMC!!
Devyn is an uber driver and one of her rides is 2 smoking hot business men. She takes them to a few places over the night, and at the drop off , she sees them go down an alley instead of the club she stopped at.
Devyn can't resist being curious, and she finds herself lost, in a place full of monsters. She just doesn't expect her hot business men to be monsters too.
Elio and Azarius have been intrigued by Devyn since they got in her car. When she comes to their realm, they dont want to let her go(no matter how hard a few of them fight it). She also meets Rafe, who is an alphahole, but super hot.
There are monsters out to get her, and her guys will fight to keep her safe.
Holy crap, the smut in this book is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Theres even tails and special peens that come out to play! I couldn't stop turning pages, I loved it!
If you love spicy, reverse harem and monsters, you NEED to read this book!!!
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read this ARC with honesty.
Okay, where to begin? First off, I want to say, I never thought I'd be interested in a monster romance. Wasn't even my thought bubbles. Then I ran across the this book that the author was promoting and I went "Hmm... sounds a little too intriguing for me to pass up"
Well...Sh!t! This book was both entertaining and smexy. A couple times I swear I was blushing at a few scenes while finding myself unable to put the book (kindle) down. I was bouncing between who was going to be the love interest...Ha, little did I know.
The story is nicely paced and well written. My only gripe is I heard through the grapevine it was a standalone (but I think the author just announced there will be a part 2 now, so yes, this ghost is shushing up on that) and maybe liked to see more of the universe. But honestly, if that's the only issue I have with it...then there isn't too much of an issue now, is there?
Definitely a recommended read if your looking for spicy hot tamale monster smut/love story.
