On the verge of losing the job she desperately needs, broken hearted McKayla “Mac” Pratt reluctantly accepts a last-chance offer from her domineering boss, only to learn the offer falls well outside of her executive assistant responsibilities.

Ford Elliot didn’t become the successful business tycoon he is by giving his employees second chances, no matter how promising they seemed to be.
Until Miss Pratt.
Despite undeniable justification, he hesitates to send her packing, offering her an unprecedented path to professional redemption instead.

Lines begin to blur as Ford and Mac slip into unexpected roles in a marketing campaign, the sensual undertones stirring long-dormant emotions and desires. As Mac’s confidence grows, so does Ford’s attraction to her. Now, instead of sending her packing, he intends to keep her.

Several bad relationships have left Mac skeptical of men and their disingenuous vows of love, so Ford knows it will take more than words to win her trust and her heart, but he’s just the man for the job.

Haven't read a book by BN Toler in ages...
*sigh*
I just like to keep Ms Toler in a special place in my heart, I mean her work of art (Where one goes, if anyone wonders, LOL) and I have been reluctant to read anything new since...therefore, ages ago...BUT I caved, obviously...

I liked the spite, the edge lingering through out the story BUT it's a novella, and I simply have a lovers spat with that format, sue me...

I always need more, there's not enough time for me to get a good grip on the characterisation, cause there's no time or space for them to develop more, so I'm always left in some kind of limbo of want and need and unfulfilled expectations....*sigh*

But as always, BN Toler still has her touch...the writing style is still vivid and right out there...so, I need more

This Novella from B.N. Toler really packs a punch.
It has something for everyone (Steam/Sass/Angst/Romance/Love) and makes the perfect weekend quick sensual read.
Mac (McKayla) has the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is employed by the boss from Hell, Ford Elliott. She is the only assistant that has made it this far, past six months. She is late for an important meeting and she is certain that she is about to be fired. She needs this job to help support her family, namely her sister who is faced with health issues and her five year old niece.
When she faces her boss and most likely the chopping block, she is shocked when he presents her with a proposition. No not sexual in nature but most certainly it held a certain amount of steam and sensuality, definitely not in her job description.
Knowing that their relationship must remain professional, the two have to fight their deep seated feelings for each other.
My kindle is still steaming.

It's been a while since I read a BN Toler book.. I think since her last release which I loved, so I picked this one up. As much as it was spicy, it just fell short for me. I think it has the possibility of being really good but needs just a little more.. needs another set of eyes to catch slight slips in the story. I also had a hard time keeping up with the POV (even though it's in third person) in some of the chapters. With that being said, I rocked through it in half a day so it kept a bit of my attention!

This book came at a good time for me. I didn’t know that I needed my next read to be a Spicy-do You believe In Love or Just Lust- type of book. I forgot that this story was going to be a bit shorter though. There were some characters I wanted to spend more time with and get to know more about, but I enjoyed how it all flowed together. I laughed a lot and it kept me reading!

I haven't read a book in forever but I was offered this ARC and I love this author so I dove in. This wasn't like her other books as it was a novella. It was a quick read. Ford and Mac brought the heat and I loved that the usual humor B N Toler likes to bring in her books was there. If you like sexy reads and are looking for something quick to read, this one is for you.
