Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.

He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.

I truly wasn’t sure that I’d make it through this with the MC. Gareth being so ridiculously childish! I thought he’d never shut up about Iseult. Holy cow. His infatuation with that traitorous bitch was entirely too much. I’ll read the next cause I liked his friends and his little brother but I really hope Gareth grows the hell up.

This is a much better book than the previous ones, Gareth has lost most of his attitude and is clearer for that. He still seems to focus on knightly values but not as much. It was nice to see Ridmark and Calliande. Looking forward to the next book.

Gareth goes back to Tarlion where he grew up and has plans to marry the woman he loves now that he's a full knight of the realm. But unbeknownst to him there are are things going on that him and his friends aren't aware of. Old and ancient evil is involved and Gareth must find out how to stop the evil. He decides to take on a test given by the Hight Elves Which could either instantly kill him or he will be rewarded with a powerful sword and be a Sword bearer or it could kill him out right.

Finally reached the part implied by the blurbs would be reached in the first book. The incessant infatuation is done. I’m puzzled by the theology: I didn’t read earlier series, so I’m struck by the clear reference to biblical people and events, and Israel, when this isn’t just an alternate history: there are many moons.

So why do I read it and the next? There is some growing character development, some of the plot and characters and events are more than just interesting, and I want to know if Niara is somehow alive still. The plot is growing on me!

I liked this book better than the previous two. Gareth is finally starting to grow up and not be such a twit. The situation with his lady love is resolved. (Thank God we won’t have to hear about her any more) Another villain appears, making two very strong opponents for Gareth and his friends to pursue and overcome.

I was happy to revisit Ridmark and Calliande. My questions about Joachim’s magical abilities were answered. Rhoanna is still scary spooky with her ability to see the future.

Dragon skull Blade of the Elves

Gareth and his friends return to Tarlion where the attend the wedding of Prince Tywall to Garerth's cousin and Gareth and his friends find Sir Tel each us of Olwain pursing an orc warlock. Gareth and hist friends all become soulbearers and are pursuing Alazmora and Thraxar with Gareth's brother and Dietmar. It will be interesting to see what happens next

Tarlion is a surprise in so many ways for Gareth. Even with Iseault ever present in Gareth's mind as the love of his life.
And being back with his parents.
And a new character, Telemachus, introducing a compelling new danger to all and sundry.
The plot of The Blade of the Elves is full of surprises and and really captured my imagination. Foresee a heck of a lot more to come in future releases in this series. Wow!
Enjoy!

I’ve been enjoying several of Jonathan Moeller’s books. I can’t wait for the next in the series about Gareth Arban’s adventures. I’m addicted to his stories and was very disappointed to find I had to wait until summer for the next book. If you like fantasies I highly recommend Mr. Moeller’s novels.

Five Knights

As Gareths story unfolds he faces new challenges of the heart, many battles, and a quest. Jonathan Moeller has not let me down. This book is a great read and I look forward to the next saga in his journey.

I love these Arban series

I feel like this family is mine. Ridmark is my absolute favorite character and now Gareth is becoming number 2. I'm so excited about this series and can't wait to read the next one in the lineup. Great Job!!!

Enjoyable read

A very enjoyable read with the storyline that still follows the main thread, but new characters arrive that both assist and hinder Gareth. Trials and battles are fought, and things resolve but not as expected, at the finish the path to the next book is set.

This story covered so many strengths and weaknesses in people

I like the way it was passenger's. This book was very difficult to put down. It combined fantasy and human foibles.

Book 3

Book 3 was an okay read. The characters were predictable in places. The plot has developed well, if not slow and has been repetitive.
