In this story, the main troublemaker is Malicia the Malignant. She is the sister of Doctor Malevolent who gave Super Potato such a hard time in the origin story (and was even responsible for his transformation into a potato). There are a lot of fun twists and turns in the second half of the comic. A perfect line is..."Things aren't always as they seem." This is said by Malicia's dog, Little Truffle. I like that the stories are ramping right along!

I am not a fan of graphic novels where the dialogue is choppy. This is a style that on one hand is following the classic comic but also leaves me feeling like I was yelled at the whole time. That said, I am not in the mind of the young reader that may think this potato is the bomb.

GN; 4th in the series; Grade 2-5/Lexile 530; Quick superhero story for reluctant readers. Uncluttered art and spare text, simple one-storyline plot. Good vs evil. Super potato is held prisoner by villain Malicia the Malignant as revenge for SP capturing her brother, Doctor Malevolent, and putting him in prison. Super potato wins in the end with the help of undercover special agent (who was disguised as the villain's dog).
