For Pearl Wiley, time was running out to have a baby of her own. This year’s Farmer Needs a Wife competition was likely to be her last chance to snag herself a date and do things the old-fashioned way. When the leather clad biker walks into the pub, she knows this is her baby daddy and will stop at nothing to take him home. She puts her case forward the Beth, and throws caution to the wind. Lance Hagen needs somewhere to hide until the gang he infiltrated are all rounded up and charged. He heads to the country to decompress until he gets the call from his boss that things are in motion for the trial. When he walks into the pub in the tiny town of Casey Plains, he thinks he’s found the perfect spot to wind down and keep out of the spotlight. Even the locals are friendly and one stunning red-head in particular takes his eye. Pearl and Lance hit it off well and she takes him home but both are hiding secrets that threaten to tear their fledgling relationship apart. Can they confess to each other what scares them the most before it’s too late?
I swear I was born with a book in my hand and that is how I spent most of my childhood. That was fine until I got older and the voices in my head demanded to be heard and I started to write. The voices are no quieter but there are less of them.
We are back in Casey Plains and this time getting to know Pearl Wiley a little better after meeting her in the first book in the series, Pearl is one determined woman she has been proving herself as a woman and letting everyone know that she is more than capable of doing everything on her own, but the one thing that Pearl wants more than anything is a baby and for that she needs someone and she is hoping to finally meet that someone in this year’s Farmer needs a wife competition.
Lance Hagen is driving through town looking for a place to stay under the radar for a while when he walks into the pub on the evening of the competition never realising what he has walked into but when he lays eyes on the beautiful Pearl maybe this place will be just the hideout till he can work out what he wants in the future there is a lot to put behind him.
As soon as Pearl sees the biker walk into the pub she knows that he is the man that she wants to be her baby’s father and she is more than willing and determined to get the man. They hit it off and Lance moves out to the farm for two weeks so as they can get to know each other and that goes really well until Lance needs to leave for a bit. Pearl is not happy but again she knows she is capable to do this one her own.
Lance was as honest as he could be with Pearl but still he had secrets that could very well upset their happy times and when Pearl is in danger lance is there, like any wonderful hero and Pearl she needs to be able to let people help her she is so strong. I really enjoyed seeing these two get their HEA both deserved it so much and their love is just what was needed, another great story in this series and I do look forward to more.
This is the second book in the Australian Brides series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but why do that when you can read the series and enjoy the fun of the Outback at its best? In this book, we are once again up for another Date night of fun at the local pub, It's somewhat like speed dating with the idea of finding your other half or mate. And yes it really does work out. In this case, farmer girl Pearl is worried her days are running short towards having a baby, you know tick-tock biological clock... so she is there to find someone to help her along the path to single motherhood if need be. In comes, the perfect man from out of town and he needs a place to stay for a while. Win-win. But life is not what it seems and of course, fate will stick her nose in too while he is there. You really need to check out this book. I love reading about Australia and the Outback .
Great book need more stories about this town and its people
Loved it Pearl is certainly a feisty lady. And has finally met her match. Though she struggles with a boatload of self doubt she is an amazingly strong and beautiful woman. Takes a special guy like Lance make her see that. Need Moe stories about this town and coming from a small town I can relate to the people and struggles if living in one. The author captured that perfectly. Great book on to the next one.
Another great book to fall into, enjoy the hard working, full of personality characters, community spirit and down to earth outback ways. I read the three books out of order, but that didn't matter. I loved to see what happened with Pearl. Now to find another book that stops my outside world interfering in my joyful pastime!
I really enjoyed it story. Poor Pearl, all she wanted was a baby. She lived alone on her station, never married, no males near he to marry. She saw a man walk. Into the Pub and knew he was the one. Enjoy their story
Excellent book. Very highly recommend. The story line held your interest and attention making it hard to put down. Ready for the next book in this series.
