Thegn of Svartån is the second book in the Lohikärran Chronicles. It continues Ina Svanunge's journey to gaining her rightful position in Svartån. Now that Ina and her friend Mattie have discovered that Svartån actually exists and is not just a place created for a video game they must use all that they learned playing the game to help Ina claim her inheritance. Standing in Ina's way are many obstacles she must overcome not only to gain her rightful place but to save the peoples and the land of Svartån.
Nelson has done a wonderful job of world building in Svartån. Her descriptions not only of the land but the people as well as their customs and dress are quite vivid and easily envisioned. The story has quite captured my attention and has me eager to continue reading the series. I have quite enjoyed reading the Chronicles.
If you have ever enjoyed playing a role playing video game, reading or watching a fantasy book or movie you will most likely enjoy reading the books in this series.

Thegn of Svartan(The Lohikarran Chronicles#2) by L.L. Nelson is a well done sequel to book 1 and I totally recommend. In this book Ina Savanunge is the rightful heir of Svartan but before she can prove herself she must prepare her new homeland's defenses to fight an invasion from their most ancient enemies. the Isilias elves. Along with a few she already has, will she find enough allies in time and will she survive? The book has unexpected twists and turns and I am looking forward to reading the next in series. As mentioned, I TOTALLY RECOMMEND

Good Read, Good Series
Ina is the Thegn Heir of Svartan. She is due to be installed as Thegn. However, many obstacles are in the way. Assassins, invasions, disrespectful nobles, division among her people, prejudice, ghosts, and dragons ensue. Fortunately, she has has the support of a neighboring Thegn. I like the action, humor, intrigue, and romance. I look forward to the next book.

The Thegn of Svartån documents Ina's path from thegn-heir to the actual thegn. It is a very difficult path. The author brings us into her thoughts as she does quite a bit of self reflection. Some of it is reliving the horrible upbringing from her mother. The rest is the confidence building that she needs to lead the people of Svartån and to defeat their enemies.
Their is action and strategy and intrigue and romance. It hits all the hot buttons, and enough of each to bring the reader along and to keep the reader totally pulled into the story. The storyline follows a believable but not always obvious path as she builds trust and confidence in her by the people she must lead.
Truly a good story if you love fantasy with a strong female lead and really want to know who she is. It is recommended to start the series at the beginning to catch all the setup which will help you understand this story.

Fantastic story great characters ,many twists and turns.
Cannot wait for next one to see what happens next.
