A Reunion on the Battlefield: Rimuru and Hinata hoped to avoid fighting, but that seems inevitable now. Curiously, each of them believes the other is the aggressor. A third party is clearly pulling the strings, pushing both sides toward open war, and all signs point to the Seven Days Clergy. However, Rimuru is determined to keep the peace, ordering his subjects not to kill. Can the Demon Lord and the leader of the Ten Great Saints uncover the truth before it’s too late? This may require intervention from the most unlikely source…
As per usual, Diablo is fantastic and I will take no criticism on him.
Definitely much more action-packed than the last volume, and we're getting to learn a lot more about the church of Luminus... and what seems like a lot of corruption in those ranks. Be interesting to see what happens now that "the boss" has arrived too...
Chapter notes below for personal reference: (potentially spoiler heavy)
So we finally finish the Hinata and Rimuru rematch and then finish the plot of the Seven Luminaries as well get to see how Hinata ended up as a Holy Knight. And we even see Diablo's first fight after becoming a member of Jura Tempest and see him I think finish his work in Faramis. It was an alright volume with some cool fights.
Rimuru is fighting Hinata while his subordinates protect Tempest from the other Holy Knights. Meanwhile, Diablo is dealing with Falmuth political intrigue set in motion by the Seven Days Clergy, a group of old men desperate to maintain their illusionary power.
Corrupt church makes life hard for protagonist that doesn't fit in their world view. Also, Diablo being his totally OP self.
Where to start! Epic fight between Hinata and Rimuru, Diablo flexes hard on the Seven Days Clergy and then that ending! This series continues to just hammer away with the action and intrigue. Then to find out we are not even halfway with the story from the light novels being told lol this series is going to go on forever.
*Review of Volumes 19-21* What I need is Veldora to share his manga with Benimaru. Then I can die happy. I think the plot has gotten to the point where there's too much happening, and I have no idea what's gonna happen. I think there's two different forces with different agendas, but both against Rimuru in some way. My brain hurts. But it wrapped up very nicely. One headache anyway.
I can't edit for the next, this story just keeps you guessing. I can't really to see what happens next. Rimiru is my absolute favorite character and I actually understand where he comes from.
