The X Club

For Them

Rate this book
Living outside of the cis-het box makes life more challenging, but also more fabulous.

I was a s-x worker and professional sub. Never heard of a professional sub? That's how awesome I am. While I finished getting my degree in accounting, scraping by in an expensive city, I didn't have time for love or relationships. When my place was condemned and I'm threatened by a person in power, seeing how my friends all lean on their partners for support makes me wonder if I can have that too? But as a non-binary sub, I don't know if anyone wants me as their boi.

A Daddy Dom and a puppy handler longing for a boy to share. But do they have to be a boy?Partners and friends had come and gone in our twenty-five years together, but we prioritized our business and the kink community over finding what we both needed long term. Our business, home, hobbies, and friends were all perfect, but we are ready for more. My husband and I owned Q & A gym for Queers and Allies, and were on the board of the X Club in San Francisco. When the club and our friend are threatened, we can't help but want to protect them with everything we have. For Them has Daddies, puppy play, non-binary bois, impact, rope play, c-k warming, and threesomes with dp. There are some threats over text with police involved, but otherwise low angst and high heat!

I mean I’m a huge sucker for good BDSM book but this one definitely might be my favorite of this entire series!!!
I‘m not always a fan of poly dynamics not because I don’t like it, it’s because they are often written poorly. But this here? for me the dynamic, the characters and the relationship between them all and between them separately was so well done!!

I loved As and Qs relationship, there we’re together since ages and they were polyamorous but never really found someone who fitted into their dynamic and their kink preferences.
But as Cielo (C) walked into their loved they knew they were it! They would make them all complete.

„You like me calling you Daddy, and I like you calling me pup, but I noticed you calling me C,” I said to A, “Is that to match Q and A? I’m not sure if C really matches the Question and Answer bit, though.”
Q was silent behind me, waiting for A to explain his nickname and I yearned to hear reassurance that I fit with them.
“Silly pup,” A kissed my nose and then met my eyes. “The correct answer is always C.“

Man I can’t describe how much I loved this book with them. It really had everything from sweet&tender moments to angst and tear to hot and kinky sexy times. And all of that was balanced out so well!

This is actually my first book from this series and I definitely want to go back and read the first two. I didn't feel lost whilst reading as it's a standalone but there are clearly established relationships and friendships that are formed in the previous books. For Them I found to be equally sweet, hot and kinky, such a great balance.
Husbands, Q and A, have been together for over twenty years and are happy and settled but at the same time both feel something is missing. They have had previous partners come in and be enjoyed by one or both of them but it's been quite a while and, though enough for each other, their needs don't exactly align. Q would like some he could be a Daddy Dom to whilst A is looking for a puppy he can also tie up, their unicorn. Cielo is currently the single one in their friendship group but in their time of need, they goes straight to Q and A for help, and a little bit of kinky support to get out of their head. Together, the trio are hot! Cielo manages a perfect balance of what the couple are looking to permanently bring into their relationship but care needs to be taken to ensure everyone is on the same page and people have been hurt before.
Alongside this blossoming relationship is a bit of drama at the club that Q and A are joint owners of with one of their fellow owners no longer sharing the same beliefs and values as the others. But then threatening text messages start to come in to Cielo, and then A, that has them worrying for their own safety as well as that of the club that is so important to them all and their community.
A very well written story with a lot of care and attention to detail when it came to the kink scenes. I love the inclusivity and diversity of the characters and the love and support they have for each other.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Once again the romance was cute but I could have done without the harassment plot.

The next one is the nice police officer and Ant but I just can’t be interested. I don’t like reading romances with police to begin with but then there is going to be more suspense stuff happening. No thank you. I’m done with the series.

I would read more romance by this author just no suspense please

I think that this might have been my least favorite of this series. Don't get me wrong it's still a really good story but I wanted more on the personal conversation side instead of more sex. This one is about a professional sub name Cielo who is interested in a serious relationship but worries that they won't be able to find a daddy/pup handler for them and it will end in heartbreak.

No I personally think that you should read the other books in the series first before starting this one because there are a lot of cameos from the previous characters and it can get overwhelming really fast if you don't know who they are.

Q and A are the owners of the BDSM club and they are a Dom Daddy and Switch Handler respectively. They are married but in a open relationship where they both have boys and pups of their own and our poly. When the both of them start to think about trying to find someone who could maybe be a little bit more permanent they both begin to think of Cielo.

As with all books in the series there is a suspense element and this one does feature some racist homophobic transphobic bully basically threatening Cielo and Q and A but the suspense element was as dramatic as past books because you kind of know who it is right at the beginning. I am really excited to see officer Maxx make a reappearance and maybe he and Ant have something going forward as the epilogue suggests. I look forward to that one!

Oh anyway but basically the three of them end up getting together when q&A comforts Cielo after some of the harassment starts coming in and the three of them realize that maybe they can have the perfect combination of daddy and boy and handler and pup and dom and sub and switch etc.

Nonbinary asian american MC, midsize gay MC, bi MC.

CW: homophobia, harassment, transphobic comments, racism, explicit sex and kinky sex

Cielo, Quinton and Alexander story was interesting and entertaining.
I liked the way they connected and the process in which their relationship blooms, how their friends help them in their time of need.
It also had a layer of danger that is the trigger in them beginning their relationship.
At first they are reluctant and insecure, but I liked the way they come more and more open and progress in their relationship.
I liked seeing old friends, eliminating from the picture the one that caused trouble, and the family they formed.
I liked the story and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.

have to say I usually am not a fan of a couple bringing in a third and this couple has been together for 25 years. But the author wrote this book so well it was like Ceilo was part of them and they aren’t complete until he arrived. This book was definitely not my normal read but I have to say I really enjoyed reading it. This is heavy on the BDSM scene but the author definitely seems to know their stuff because the story flowed quite well and it kept me engaged the whole time. I think the only thing I would have changed is a wanted more of their happy ending. I’m hoping Ant and Maxx get their story next and we see more of Q, A and C

I always enjoy a well written or expressed BDSM book. I also enjoy reading about people who identify as something other than your typical gay, lesbian, or bi. Enby and trans characters have a special place in my heart for multiple reasons. Quinton and Alexander run both the XClub and a gym. The C to their Q&A is Cielo, a non-binary professional sub. These characters were so well thought out. The threat to their club was pretty obvious to me and it was resolved relatively easily but that fact didn’t detract from the whole point of the story. I really enjoyed this book and may have to go look up the first two to get caught up. The cover is also gorgeous.

For Them was a beautiful story of love and acceptance. Quinton and Alexander are a married couple who have prioritized their business over finding a third person to complete their relationship. A Daddy Dom and a Puppy Handler just looking for their perfect boy. Along come Cielo and they fit into Q and A’s relationship so seamlessly. They all instantly connect and feel such love with each other. It’s like they have all found their missing pieces and they fit together perfectly. Their relationship blooms so beautifully in this story and I was hooked form the start. I could not put this book down once I started reading. I have loved this series so very much and I highly recommend it!

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

POV: 1st Person Triple POV

Standalone or series: Book 3 in the X Club series

Would I recommend it: 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommend!! 🤩

R.A. once again brought all the emotions out! We experienced an exhibitionist, Pup handler and a Daddy Dom, executed with perfection! I absolutely love how this community all comes together when one of them are threatened, and how each member excels in a particular needed area. Also, the special care taken and shown for a non-binary individual brought so much more to the story!

𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙢𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙.

Cielo, Quinton and Alexander were so much fun! Their connection was flawless, not to mention their chemistry was sizzling hot! More importantly, Q&A’s desire to protect Cielo was absolute perfection to the core! I absolutely loved their patience with C, but loved how they cared for C even more. The trouple was stunning together and made it work perfectly.

Off topic, am I the only one who wants a story with Maxx Wu!?!

Q, A, & Cielo

I have read poly/threesome stories before, but none quite like this! This was my first non-binary MC mixed with some non-binary supporting characters. It was interesting to see how life and situations looked for Cielo and how well they took things in stride while also standing up for their boundaries and needs.

I love kinky stories and this one seemed to have almost everything: Daddies, pups, leather, D/s, restraint, spanking, & more!

There was a small antagonist element that didn’t overwhelm the love story, and there’s a great HEA. It hit the sweet spot of spice for me with 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5.

I was really unsure of whether I would really like this book but I wanted to give it a fair chance—man I’ve never been so glad to be wrong! This story has a little bit of everything—the unsavory, the drama, the suspense and definitely the 🔥🔥! The character development was straight on and l each character pulled at a different part of my heart! So good!!

This book, this series, is so special. Finding a story (and a series) so well done about these topics is rare and I give so much credit to RA Frick for their ability to weave respect, consent and love with so much heat and mystery! Q & A have an amazing relationship and adding Cielo is the icing on the cake. Beautifully done, very sexy and absolutely amazing!

I loved both getting to know Cielo (C), Q and A better and seeing them come together as a throuple. This book really was low angst and high steam. I think this books works best if you`ve read the two previous books.
I`ve enjoyed the whole series so far and I`m looking forward to the next book.

During the first chapter you get hit with a lot of characters all at once and it can be a little hard to keep up, but do bear with it. What opens up is an inclusive story touching on a number of kinks and BDSM which is full of the good feels and really enjoyable to read. The 'angsty' bit is resolved relatively easy, but doesn't detract from the overall point of the book which is all about Q, A and C and building their relationship. Would definitely recommend.

I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

Title - For Them (The X Club #3)
Author - R.A Frick
Genre - MMX Romance, Kink, BDSM
Published - May 2022
Pages - 229 Pages

Cielo is a professional sub and works as a s*x worker, when his apartment is condemned, he's overwhelmed by the support he gets from his friends as they rally around him. Seeing all his friends happy and falling in love, Cielo begins to wonder if they'll ever be able to have that, they dream to have a daddy of their own but don't think anyone will want a non-binary as their boi.

Q and A run their own gym and are part owners of the kink club they and their friends frequent, there married. Q is a daddy dom and A is a puppy handler, they both long to have a boy who wants a daddy and who also enjoys puppy play and wants a handler. They don't think this unicorn is out there. When someone starts threatening Cielo and the kink club Q and A go into protective mode, and then the threats start getting aimed at Q and A.

As the three of them work through the threats, they slowly find themselves falling for each other, is Cielo the unicorn Q and A have been searching for?

I really enjoyed this book, I thought the characters were fantastic, and I loved the plot. In fact, I loved everything about this book. I thought it was well written, easy to follow and flowed really well. I thought the character development was brilliant throughout. I found the plot to be interesting, and engaging, it kept me hooked and I can't wait to read more from this series.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys MMX romances, kink, dom/sub and puppy play, brilliant writing and just an amazing book.

I got an ARC of this book.

I saw nonbinary and I saw a kinky triad with two tops and I was READY. The book was not ready for me though. There were just so many awkward lines and some inconsistencies with weird things (like where the dog was) that it was hard to take the character's seriously. I am not sure where it is a compliment or even normal to tell two guys you are into that they are hotter than your moms for example.

One of the biggest issues I had when I was attempting to get into the book is the names of the two tops: Q and A. There was a cute reference to their names, that honestly didn't justify having a character named A. A is a word that happens on its own and often made the sentence read weird. I would have to reread a lot just to make the scenes make sense.

The idea of the book worked a lot better than the book itself for me. I was so excited. I saw the pronouns of the author and got so incredibly excited. I love when queer people are writing queer stories. I wanted to love this so much. I just couldn't get into it. Maybe if I read the first two first? I am not sure that would really help my issues with the writing or the names though. It might work for you and it is great to have a queer author writing queer stories, so give it a shot. Support queer artists!

I loved the first two books in this series and lucky for readers, RA Frick continues to uphold the high standards set by those books in this one. Love reading about X Club and the way everyone supports everyone else in whatever choices they make. That's critical here as there is a threat to the club that must be dealt with. The story of Q&A and Cielo is fantastic. Q&A realize they have been rushing through life perfectly enjoyably but have been so busy they haven't stopped to think what more they want and need. Cielo has hit a low point financially trying to go to school and live in an expensive city and when their building is condemned it drives home just how nice it would be to have someone to lean on and share the hard times with. I think this particular note the author strikes most hit home for me and Frick captured the feeling perfectly. A few years ago when everything in my house decided to fall apart at once and work got a bit sticky, I realized just how much help it is to have a partner to help share the emotional load. Fortunately for all three of them, they find each other and watching them work their way to a relationship that fulfills everyone in it was wonderful to read about. Steamy, yes, but it's the emotional depth of the characters that will bring you back to this series. Can't wait for the next book.

This is the first in this series I have read and I am loving it. I want to read more about the other characters. Quinton(Q) and Alexander(A) have a loving open relationship, but since both of them have a dominate side they are looking for more or at least someone that will complete their lives. Quinton is the strong, caring alpha male, while Alexander is a switch. But A's dominate side is also looking for someone to take care of. Cielo(C) is a good friend of theirs and A sees potential in him.
When Cielo's life and the club they all attend is threatened, they all band together to help each other out. The more time they spend together to hunt down the person responsible for the threats the closer their relationship becomes.
This is a HEA story. It will involve you emotionally, but the ending is worth it.

Another fun book in club series

I am really enjoying this low angst high heat series that is all centered around a kink club in San Francisco. This is a book about another triad Alexander, Quinton and Cielo. R.A. Frick does a great job of juggling three main characters again and they make a cute group. It difficult for me as a straight Canadian cis woman to really understand how realistic these things would be for these characters but I do like the stories that this author writes. When I am in the mood these books hit the spot. My only problem is that with using the initials for A&Q I sometimes had a bit of confusion when A would appear in the text. Aside from that it was just what I needed today.

Q & A have been married for years and have played with several but have almost given up finding their unicorn until the meet Cielo (C) a sub at their club. Having met the trio in the previous novels in the series I was excited to read about the formation of the new trouple. Filled with fun s3xy times between the new trio and a suspense component that could derail their new love together. Not as much development in the formation of the new trio as had been in the previous books but because Q, A and Cielo had been introduced in the previous books I didn't need as much background on them but new readers who have not read the previous books may find their developing relationship lacking. Looking forward to Ant's story next.

This is one of my favorite books. I loved the dynamic Q&A have intrigued me from the beginning. Adding C into the mix was pure fire. This book had it all, steam, a great plot and amazing characters. I loved Q&A finally finding what they needed. I loved C coming out of their bad situation to find happiness in a blessing in disguise. This book had so many great dynamics and a wonderful story line. Every book in this series delivers a great story and this is no exception. Definitely worth your time to check this one out and enjoy it.

Kink, Polyfam and Devious Threats

Q and A, part owners and board members of the X Club have occasionally partnered with others to meet both their needs.
But when Cielo is in need, they both take them back to theirs to help, and a friendship forms.
They are being sent threatening texts claiming lots of things.
I loved this one, the growing relationship, how smart Cielo is with the taxes and how they are willing to put themselves out there.
Plus the chemistry is off the charts.
Terrific stuff.

Wow!

This was so good. I was hesitant to read the first two because of some of the content warnings but now I wish I had. I love the characters. All of them except for DD and you know who I mean after reading this. I think the balance of light, heavy, sweet, upsetting, scary, and sexy AF was perfect. And the flow just carried me along making it hard to put down. I am definitely going to read more of this author.

3.5 stars. Enjoyable, informative. Q and A’s relationship is amazing. So much love and trust between them. C was a bit stubborn but they came around and realized they were worthy of the love being offered. I wish that there would’ve been a better explanation on why Willy Johnson changed so drastically and became so hateful. This is the first book I’ve read of the series and would definitely like to back track when I can to read the other books in this series.

I didn’t love this book. It was a little disorganized and confusing, and the harassment storyline was predictable. The chemistry between Q, A, & C was pretty good, I wish there had been more of that as it was the best part of the book. I think there are more well-written kink titles out there.
