Religion, folklore, myths & legend are all very fascinating to me.
Which was why I picked this book up about the Wiccan religion.
Plus I read a lot of fantasy, PNR, & urban fantasy & it’s quite fun to see where all these ideas comes from.
It’s a little taste of what the Wiccan religion stands for, how the covens work, which type of different ways you can practice the Wiccan faith. Because there is according to this book multiple ways to worship & what I found most interesting was the fact you can listen to your own truth. You can say “this path/spell/ritual” doesn’t work for me & do something else, even try to make your own & that is still okay. You can join a coven or go the solitude way.
I did find it very repetitive & not really getting in depth with anything. So I do feel like the knowledge about the Wiccan religion is still a mystery to me.

Guess the author and I have different points of view when it comes to "essential".
It broke up the types of covents against the solitary practice, and as I was curious to find out what Wicca is about, basically I've learned nothing about the practice, motives and so on...
However, this may be a useful book for someone who is trying to find their path into the religion when choosing where one belongs.

Lots of information...
But it could be laid out better. It often feels repetitive and I am not sure all the references to previous chapters is accurate. That being said some chapters could easily be expanded upon and made into their own books.

In Wicca the foundation is to keep learning and do no harm. The book is good to do a quick read giving you pro's and con's. It for me lacked some detail for the beginner , just ideas of go out and research leaving some to ask research what exactly.

I really enjoyed this book. I have just started my journey, and it was very enlightening and helpful! Definitely recommend it if you are thinking about becoming Wiccan.

This is more of an intro to an intro
I learned the names of a few different Wicca practices and that there are differences but not much more. There is endless repetition and being told to research and read read read. This was not really useful at all.

free book in apple library. mostly repetitive info on covens vs solo practice, but a decent, high-level summary of what “Wicca” vs “Witch” is.
