About the author

Chris Riddell was born in Cape Town, South Africa, where his father was an Anglican priest and a member of the ANC. The family moved to England in 1963, when Riddell was one year old, and he spent his childhood in a number of different locations, as his father moved between parishes. Both of Riddell's parents continued to be active in the anti-apartheid movement.

Chris Riddell is an internationally acclaimed writer and illustrator whose many awards include the Nestlé Gold Award and two Kate Greenaway Medals—the most prestigious prize for illustration in the UK. He is the creator of more than one hundred books for all ages, including the immensely popular series the Edge Chronicles and his latest chapter book series, starring the irrepressible Ottoline Brown, which School Library Journal called "exceptional." Chris lives in Brighton, England, with his wife and three children where he invents his amazing characters in a very tidy shed in his yard.

موقعی که دهکده می‌رفتم و با بچه‌های اونجا دوست بودم، دیدم سعیده یه بار یه استوری از این کتاب گذاشت و من خیلی خوشم اومد ولی از اونجایی که از بغل بدم می‌اومد نرفتم سمتش و موقعی که تصمیم گرفتم بگیرمش دیگه تو دهکده نبود.
مدت‌ها تو لیستم بود و چندبار از سایت‌های مختلف خواستم سفارشش بدم تا اینکه هفته گذشته توی باغ کتاب دیدمش و دیدم که کل کتاب تصویرسازیه و گفتم که فقط برای یه سری نقاشی نمی‌ارزید این همه پول بدم.
این هفته که با علی رفتیم باغ کتاب، فرصت رو غنیمت دونستم و نشستم خوندمش و خیلی دوستش داشتم و شاید قیمتش زیاد باشه ولی خب دوست دارم تو کتابخونه‌م باشه:)

De los libros más bonitos que he tenido el placer de tener en mis manos.

100 abrazos nace de las ilustraciones de Chris Riddell, que no sólo brinda 100 abrazos distintos, sino que también se intercala con grandes citas literarias de grandes escritores (Rilke, C. Brontë, Lao-Tse, etc) y que además hace varios guiños a algunos grandes libros de la literatura (Alicia en el País de las Maravillas, Los Tres cerditos, Blancanieves....).

Un librito super tierno y entrañable que saca una sonrisa en lector, como poco, cien veces.

La importancia de un abrazo, la magnitud de una amistad por encima de todo son algunos de los valores que se camuflan entre estas ilustraciones. Y es que un abrazo no cura, pero sí alivia.

Great book!

Love the beautiful words and the pictures.

I tried to name each and every "hugger" but I am unfamiliar with some of these fairytale or stories the characters derived from.

P.S.

I down loaded this e-story from my library, all of my pictures were in black and white. I was wondering if the actually hard covered book was also in black and white.

Me gusta mucho la idea del libro: ilustraciones de abrazos entre los personajes más diversos. No es el tipo de ilustración que más me gusta. De hecho, llamar ilustración es darle demasiada entidad a cada una de estas creaciones que son, evidentemente, descartes con otro objetivo que, al final, se han compilado en este librito. Muchas tienen incorrecciones, son bocetos más que trabajo terminado.

امشب دارم برمی‌گردم شهرم و قراره صد روز از یارم دور باشم. مدت‌ها از این کتاب‌فروشی به اون کتاب‌فروشی دنبالش بودم و بالاخره امشب پیداش کردم. تو کتاب‌فروشی آمه نشستیم با هم ورقش زدیم. تک‌‌تک نوشته‌ها و تصویرهای کتاب باعث شد اشک بریزم. هم‌زمان “مرا ببوس” ویگن هم پخش می‌شد و قلبم رو هزار تیکه می‌کرد.
این کتاب برای من فراموش‌نشدنی‌ترین، غمگین‌ترین، و عزیزترینه.

یه کتاب کوچولو شامل ۱۰۰ تا طراحی‌ بغل، که تصویرگر امیدواره با دیدنشون قلب‌هایی که در طلب آغوش‌اند گرم بشن. انگار داری اسکچ بوک یه عاشق رو ورق میزنی. به نظرم خیلی مناسب کادو دادن به کسیه که بغل کردنش برات با ارزشه.

خط‌های قوی‌، کاراکترهای خفن، اغراق‌های بامزه، جزئیات‌‌‌های دوست داشتنی، همه و همه باعث شد عاشق تصویرسازیای کریس ریدل بشم =)))

Sometimes I like to think that turns the pages of illustrated books is like to read. Maybe not read but write your own stories while you turn the pages, reading in your mind. Actually I did not feel the hugs in this book but in some way is kind of warm. Maybe I need a hug, not imagine the hugs. I have to recognize that the idea is awesome and the illustrations are pretty creative (even though I did not know some of the characters )
