This is one of my favorites in this series……loved the book title!!!!
Okay, that’s not the only thing I loved about Fang & Aimee’s love story!!! They are one of my fav characters in the fabulous world that the author has created.
Were-Wolf Fang Katallakis……….
black sheep of the famly, he travels the world as a loner, drifting through life, the only pleasure he feels is when he’s taking down his enemies.
Were-Bear Aimee Peltier…..
sassy, lovable daughter of the powerful Peltier Bear Clan
Having met these two in previous books, I was so looking forward to their story. And I was so not disappointed.
A lot happens in this book….filled with action, family politics, love, romance and past and new amazing secondary characters.
Again, brilliant dialogue and interaction between the main characters

Fang Kattalakis (Katagaria wolf) and Aimee Peltier (Katagaria bear, but )
The wolf and the bear. A forbidden love between two species that do not mix.
The love story between these two has started in book ‘Night Play’ (Book 6 in the Dark-Hunterverse, when Fang’s brother Vane met his mate Bride) really early in the series and has continued through all the rest of the books until ‘Bad Moon Rising’.
This book is actually for the most part a recap of the previous books –especially books ‘Night Play’ and ‘Unleash the Night’. So, I suppose if you are a hardcore fan who has not miss a single book, some details may make you bored. But the book also fills the missing blanks concerning the story of Fang and Aimee.
As the single female in a big family of bear shifters, Aimee needs to mate a big, strong bear and make her mother proud. Unfortunately, she will hopelessly fall in love with messed-up wolf Fang and her life will also become a mess.
I could not help it, while I was reading the book, thinking that maybe Aimee is too good for Fang. She basically:
1. …saved his life fighting demons while he was in coma and nobody else was helping him.
2. …abandoned her family and her mother’s dreams to be with him without even being mated to him (at least in the beginning)
3. …kept telling him that she loves him, while he was avoiding expressing his feelings.
4. …abandoned her dream of becoming a mother – although she deeply wanted to become one, because she knew that no children could be produced from their union.
Seriously, Fang should be worshiping the ground that Aimee walks on. Instead he was pushing her away, until he could not stay away much longer.
This is another were-hunters’ story that I absolutely love. The story had many heartbreaking moments and the ending is bitter-sweet. It felt mostly as a HFN end than a HEA end.

I delayed picking up Bad Moon Rising for more than a year after finishing Dream Warrior because I'd been loving the fact that the DH series had switched focus from the regular characters like dark-hunters, were-hunters, and humans to more high powered characters such as dream-hunters, daimons, demons, and even Gods. With Bad Moon Rising being Fang and Aimee's story it seemed a return to the regular old were-hunters stories and I was not super enthused for that after reading Stryker and Cratus's exiting tales. To make matters worse I've never been a big fan of the Peltier clan or werebears in general. Lets be honest werebears sound too much like carebears for anyone to be able to take them seriously!
Turns out that whole long delay was a mistake! Fang and Aimee's story had a lot more to it than just the were-hunter stuff that we have see plenty of times before. We got to met a lot of familiar faces from the early books as well as a ton of interesting new demons and the like. There is so many characters and magical races in the Dark-Hunter's series now that my long delay was definitely a mistake because I found I was struggling to remember them all. Not that I'm complaining because it is that depth to the world-building that separates this series from the bulk of the rest of the books in the PNR genre. The other issue I had with my long delay was that a lot of this story runs concurrently with events from Unleash the Night (Wren's story) and Night Play (Vane's story) and my memory of those happenings was just not fresh enough. I'll definitely be sure to reread both those as well as Fury's story before I embark on a reread of this one.
All in all I really enjoyed this instalment of the series. Kenyon always gets a great balance between the humor, the romance, and the plot that make her books an enjoyable read. I quite liked Fang and Aimee as a couple and both turned out to have some fun hidden powers. I think I've even warmed a bit to Dev so that has also helped with my enthusiasm for the next instalment of the series.
As always we got a ton of fun cameos from past Dark-Hunters characters. Vane and Fury along with the Peltier clan were always going to have a part in this story but it was great to see the likes of Acheron and Valerious pop up as well as a bunch of new demons, both the villainous type and others who might not be quite so evil:)
I bumped my rating from 4 stars to 3.5 stars because I felt like the ending could have been stronger and that on the whole Fang and Aimee's story was just spread over too much time and squeezed in between the happenings of other books that it lessened the impact of it a bit.
Rating: 3.5 stars.
Audio Note: This was narrated by Holter Graham . He did a decent job. I still prefer Fred Berman but at least Holter and Fred are really consistent with their character interpretation.

I'm being generous with my stars tonight because it's almost Christmas. What the hell. Also, I have loved Fang and Aimee for a long time and have been waiting for their story.
Yes, the guy's name is Fang. That wasn't a typo. I think his mom wanted to name him after her favorite astronaut drink, but had a lisp...
He's a werewolf, so this is a photo of his actual mother while caroling one Christmas.
There was definitely no insta-love here. These two have been interested in each other for years, but their love is forbidden since she is a bear-girl and he is a wolf-man. Who cares that they are also both human - it's disgusting!
The book starts back in time when they first met and we get to read a lot of the stories that were going on in the background of some of the past books. The thing is, there are so many freaking storylines going on at this point that the author could literally have a thousand monkeys typing on a thousand typewriters day and night and still not keep up with them all. (Not to mention the astronomical medical bills for all of those monkeys with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.)

So, Fang and Aimee go through hell trying to stay apart from each other, because of their unnatural love, along with pining for each other and not staying away from each other at all. It's pretty angsty. And, you know how I love me some angsty love crap.
actually, I would prefer knocking my head into a wall repeatedly...
There are even lovely bits of poetry in a locket that they keep repeating to themselves and each other...
"Where I am always thou art. Thy image lives within my heart."
That was exactly how he felt about her. Closing the locket, he kissed it lightly and returned it to his neck. Yeah, it was girly enough to make him want to puke.
You know who else wanted to puke after reading this? Me.
As a matter of fact, what the hell am I thinking, giving this 4-stars? I am filled with a crap-load of Christmas spirit right now!

Not my favorite, but still overall happy with the plot.
When I picked up this book, I was so excited that I finally got around to reading Fang and Aimee's story. I went into the book with very high expectations, but unfortunately, it turned out to be something opposite of what I was hoping it would be, not with the whole story but just some parts of it. And that made me a little sad. I didn't say or mean that it was bad or disappointing or anything. The romance between them just wasn't the fireworks, not half as close as I had imagined it to be. Anyway, the plot was engaging enough for me to keep reading like crazy. There was so much going on in this book that I felt like I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.
This was the story of true love across species between Fang Kattalakis, a Katagari wolf, and Aimee Peltier, an Arcadian bear.
At first I liked Aimee just fine. She’s lovely, brave, strong, and thoughtful, and she’s the only one who cares about Fang enough to do every way to pull him out of The Nether Realm, the place between the dead and the living. But as I read further into the story, I found Aimee started to get on my nerves. She repeatedly made mistakes and didn't know how to fix them. Fang, on the other hand, impressed me with his strong will and his loyalty to his family. Although he’s impetuous, short-tempered, loud mouthed, and rude, he loves Aimee with all his heart and he didn’t hesitate to give Thorn his soul just to keep Aimee safe.
The Simi is my favorite demon as always! Every time she showed up, she would bring a smile to my face. Near the end when Eli and his thugs attacked on Sanctuary, all hell broke loose; everyone came to Sanctuary to join the battle and to protect the Peltiers. Simi was the only one who enjoyed this fight!
None of them could use their powers since that would only feed the demons’ strength. Even Acheron was fighting with staff and sword.
Simi was the only one who seemed to be enjoying this as she ran around with a bottle of barbecue sauce, trying to catch Eli’s crew.
The rest of them . . .
It’s hopeless.
Despite this life-threatening situation, I couldn’t believe Simi just made me laugh!
However, Bad Moon Rising might not be as good as I thought it would be, but I liked it a lot and enjoyed the story for the most part. This was another interesting addition to the series.

BORED BORED BORED
La mayor parte de este libro fue aburrido, no me gustó hasta el de Styker me divirtió más, tal vez porque ODIO los retellings y casi la mitad del libro ya lo sabíamos pero no los vuelen a contar aunque con el punto de vista de los protagonistas, pero aun así fue aburrido porque la historia comienza desde el libro de Talon, pasando por el de Vane, siguiendo con el de Wren pero nunca me di cuenta cuando llegamos a la época actual.
Pero lo que más odié y eso fue el mayor PORQUE no me gustó fue la actitud de Fang hacia Vane y Fury, pero más por Vane que no se lo merecía, aquí Kenyon casi destruye la relación de hermanos que tanto me gustaba en los anteriores libros y quisieron poner a Vane como egoísta que no se preocupó lo suficiente por su hermano, pero conmigo no funcionó porque yo AMO a Vane.
Mi otro pero fue la relación de Fang y Aimee, yo pensé que iba a tratar más del tipo Romeo y Julieta, de un amor imposible, pero no fue como yo me imaginé aunque si me gustó que su relación no fue así de dos semanas un mes y ya estamos juntos sino que se fue desarrollando al paso de los años, lo que pasó es que pasaron tanta cosas que empeñaron la historia de amor, por ejemplo cuando Fang estuvo en coma si se puede llamar así realmente no estaba en coma estaba atrapado en las tinieblas, luego canjeo su alma para cazar demonios y salvar la vida de Aimee y pasan más cosas que a mí me parecieron aburridas, no fue un libro para mí.
Si puedo rescatar algo de este libro fue a Thorn

Throughout the series, it was pretty much a given that Aimee and Fang would end up together, and they finally did! However, the path to true love never runs smoothly, and our intrepid heroes have to endure much to reach their HEA.
This book definitely isn't a stand-alone, but really the only ones you need to read to understand what's going on in this book are Night Play and Unleash the Night. On top of revisiting a lot of the favorite characters (okay, all of the characters; was that really necessary?) we meet a lot - A LOT - of new characters, including a whole new theology.
Although Fang & Aimee's story is pretty predictable, they have to overcome a lot of hurdles - his family, her family, his enemies, her enemies, etc. But there was nothing new or exciting about the romance angle, it was all about the perpetuation of the series and exploring the characters in deeper context. (All I can say is, I knew I liked Aimee, but the reason Fang fell in love with her is more than obvious as you get to know her.)
My biggest gripe with this is the series spans years, and this story hits all the major bases of the series, but for some reason, it's never made clear that the time span is years, and not just months. Reading through it, the only mention of "years" anywhere is at the very end, when Fang tells Aimee he's been in love with her for years. Otherwise, Kenyon marks time in days, weeks, and months, but it never seems to add up right in the timeline of the series. For instance, the book starts in 2003, but there's no mention of Nick & Cherise's death, or even Hurricane Katrina for that instance (2005) - which I know Kenyon has made reference to previously (Kiss of the Night, maybe?). I don't know if it was a word count crunch or she just didn't include all that info, but I found it very odd that nothing was said.

I don't know if it was a word count crunch or she just didn't include all that info, but I found it very odd that nothing was said.
Beyond that, it was a decent, entertaining, if not too thought-provoking, read from a series that I've grown not to expect too much more from. B-

Whew! I was happy with Bad Moon Rising, and kind of surprised. The last couple books in this series have kind of been lacking. I’ve been anticipating Fang and Aimee’s romance for months.
I was really interested in getting to know the Peltier bears. They’ve been mentioned so many times, but we really don’t know much about them. Since we know Fang is wolf, and Aimee is bear, how will they be able to be together? Is their a chance the Fates would make them mates?
The book starts a few years back, prior to their sister’s murder, and carries through a few years. We get to see Vane and Fury, and see the events of their stories through Fang’s view. Ash, Valerious, Simi (yea!), Savitar, Wren, and quite a few other Dark-Hunters and beings from the series make small appearance. I think most Dark Hunter fans will be pleased with this edition to the series.
I’d like to see a story about Dev Peltier and some of the other bear brothers. Maybe they’d at least get a novella.

Ok - this book was a hot mess. Some good, some bad.
The book covered YEARS. Many years! Which was very confusing at times since it was not always clear. Most of the book took place during a time period already covered in other books. Many of the events and some if the conversations were already in other books. So for me it was boring at times. Sometimes it was interesting seeing the "other side" of a scene or convo, but mostly I was bored.
IMO, this is not a romance. There is very little romance between Aimee and Fang. They are determined to stay apart because they are different species. So even though there is attraction, they stay apart for years. They basically get together because they think he is going to die so it won't matter. Really not romantic!
My safety exception is because of this ongoing denial and separation.
There is a lot of humor in the book. I really enjoyed Thorn. No clue if he is a bad guy, but I loved him!

Fang and Aimee… FINALLY!!!
Their relationship between the hotheaded, sarcastic wolf and sweet, funloving bear has been hinted at in other books of the series, and now, finally we get their full story, and oh my God, was it intense! I can’t believe everything they went through! In all of the mentions of Fang and Aimee together in other books, there has always been this sense of forbidden love about them, and now, given the chance to get inside their heads and see their story play out, do we realise exactly HOW forbidden their love it. Like, potentially life and death forbidden.
Because of this, they both try to fight their feelings, but their draw to each other is strong, and they are both honest and very matter of fact about it. And even with all of the barriers between them they are funny, they tease each other, they find some beautifully sweet moments together, and they are constantly there for each other – in life and death, and even to hell and back (literally) – and I loved every minute of their story!
This book starts off back in time in the Dark Hunter series to when Fang and Aimee first meet. There is a bit of a repeat of events from book 6 in the series - Night Play, which features Fang’s brother Vane, as we see the big events that rocked both brothers, and sets up their stories. And from there we get to follow Fang and Aimee through years of ups and downs as they grow closer, struggle with their feelings, and change their destinies.
The thing I loved most about this book was just how intertwined the two of them are! So many moments from other books have so much more meaning to them now that I have a more intricate knowledge of what led up it, and how it all happened in detail! I loved how this book was written! And with so much happening in this story, and the Dark Hunter world, I’m sure a lot of the events are going to continue playing out in future books.
There’s a whole heap of time with the Peltiers (especially Dev, who I now have a major crush on!), as well as more Wren, a little bit of Acheron (squee), Savitar (who shows his a-hole side), Fury (freaking hilarious as always - although when did he get mated???), and an intro to Thorn and the Hellchasers (who are a brilliantly sarcastic bunch). There’s also a lot of goings on with the weres, demon attacks, and things at Sanctuary are FULL ON, with some surprises along the way, and an action packed ending that had me frantically flipping pages.
Told with Kenyon’s usual humour, the dialogue is snappy, and the dynamic between the characters is sensational as always. With a sensational ‘against the odds’ love story, and a whole lot of action, this story is a wild ride, and I absolutely loved it!

Dare I say that I enjoyed this book just as much as Acherons? I think YES!
I think Ms. Kenyon did a most amazing job of telling Fang and Aimee's story. It was great how we got to see their relationship develop and how all those little snippets of the two of them from previous book were all worked into this one.
I had no idea that they knew each other before Fang was bought into Sanctuary and that Aimee was the one who saved him. That was a complete left fielder!
After reading reviews that this was repetitive I have to disagree. I though this was the most romantic story of all of them and that includes Acherons. It wasn't sudden like most and was spread out over a long time. Their love took time to grow and they never hated each other like most of the other couples in the books.
The only down side? That this was book 18 in the series. Thinking back whilst reading it, it made sense that it was left until now but I get the cranks having to wait so long for Kenyon to write the stories of the most significant characters in her series.
Questions going unanswered would be when is Nick going to get his book. What about Jaden?? what is she waiting for!!

I was expecting to like this story less, but in fact I fell in love with the main characters and as I went along with the reading I was able to make the whole movie in my head, being easy to take our imagination to compose this story.

I have been waiting for " Bad Moon Rising " with anticipation for a while to finally read the story of Fang Kattalakis ( wolf ) and Aimee Peliteir ( Bear )with the expectation it would be a type of Romeo & Juliet story,and was so thilled, me and a few of my friends treked down to where she was signing the new release.
I have very mixed feelings about this book after reading it, in fact I was disappointed with the story as a whole. SK is a wonderful writer so she had me reading untill the very last page.First of all I couldn't understand the timeline. the story was not set up to be 2009, it was set a few years back. Vane & Bride, and Wren & Maggies story were already published and read ( so I could not sell this as a stand alone, you needed to read the previous books to follow the characters and their storyline.Also in the past books, nothing bad had ever happened to " Santuary " or was never mentioned, so it seemd ( or felt ) as though it was present day, eventhough we know it was in the past. I found the book very choppy and thought the romance was lackluster at best.Yes Aimee & Fang were in love but could never tell their families due too their different species...( they werent allowed to mix )add to it minimal mild love scenes Then add different plots to the mix, I felt like we were sent back into acient history with all the plotting, killing of people even their own children and then add in different relms of hell.There were a few interesting characters, such as Thorn and the hellchasers and we found out more about the bear family and how fangs relationship came to be with Fury...was there a HEA, well that you will have to find out. Aww I loved Amy and Fang's story. Loved this Were-hunter story. Had all the elements you would want in a story. SK really is so talented in her writing. She probably one of my favorite authors for PNR.

Well, well, well. You'd think I'd have written a review for this, considering Fang is my favorite hero in Dark-Hunterville--ever. I love him like no other, and this book just made me love him even more.
Aimee and Fang. I like it. A bear and a wolf. Why not? Sounds good to me. Plus, Fang and Aimee had real chemistry. I believed in their relationship--especially since Aimee had never really liked wolfweres, until Fang. They're definitely one of my favorite couples, and not just in this series, but of all time.
As for plot, there seemed to be a lot going on. We've got Fang trapped in some kind of purgatory. We've got Aimee and her family/mating issues, and Aimee trying to kill the demons, and we've got Fang dealing with his new "job," and Fang's relationship with his brother(s). So there were no lulls or boring spots, despite how it recaps parts of Vane's and Wren's books.
It was amazing to see Fang change so much. After he got his soul returned to him, he was just....different. He wasn't the loud-mouthed, smart-assed, never-think-before-you-act Fang. He grew so much. And not just mentally, but also physically. He gained power, and also learned to fight better in his human form--he can even compete with Vane now, which makes me so happy. At first, Vane's pathetic failure to aid his brother created a rift between the two, but eventually, after Vane proved he cared, I actually think their relationship strengthened. I mean, Fang actually told Vane he loved him! When does that happen between brothers? I did want to murder Vane for a good 3/4 of the book for being so mean to Fang, and saying such hurtful things when Fang needed him the most, though.
The whole thing with the bears at the end didn't make me sad. I guess it was meant to, but I never liked Nicolette, or her husband, so them dying didn't affect me. Savitar pissed me off in this book. Just saying.
I like Fury a lot, too. I'm glad he's Fang's brother, and I'm glad the two of them accepted each other. They really are so much alike--I can imagine why they wouldn't get along. That big fight between them was funny, because you know they don't actualy want to kill each other.
Aimee. I just want to talk about her for a minute. She really only annoyed me once in the whole book. This was when she said that all wolves should be gathered up and executed or some such, while Fang was standing right there. Not very smart, Aimee. You really hurt him, there. Sure, she apologizes, but what's done is done. Other than that...I was very impressed with the way she went all-out to save Fang. They both loved each other so much, and it was clearly displayed, not just told.
So yeah, I love Fang. This is my second time reading this book--my first DH reread. That says something.

This book was not as good as the others. I feel that she needed to have a better proof reader, to catch all the time lapses and other issues I felt wear in this book. She failed to mention Katrina as well as keep a accurate time table during the story. Fang and Aimee's story starts in '03 and doesn't concluede until '09, that is 5 years worth of story line including the very BIG issue of Katrina which the author completely skipped. Didn't even mention. Not counting Fury mating, "Hello" when did that happen and why wasn't that a story or at least mentioned so it wasn't as huge as a shock that left me going "Dang, Did I miss a book" I think that she should have handled it much the way she wrote Acheron, where she dated each chapter. that would have allowed the book to flow much better. as it was the book made it seem as though it took place in the course of a year maybe two instead of the 5. I cant say not to read this book since it is part of the series, but just the same, alot of it you could skim through. In fact the author even took entire sections that she had written for other books and just used those for this one. Case in point: the beginning of Night Play where Vane is dealing with trying to get free from the tree. That section is in Bad Moon Rising. All from Vanes perspective. So I could go on but I will only be reiterating on what I have just pointed out. My advise is to just speed-read until the last 2 to 3 chapters. Oh!. . . and did I miss another memo that stated that everyone now knows that Simi is a demon and Acheron is a God. In fact just in Acheron, he was still in the dark. Oh well. that is the problem when there ends up being to many books in a series. I swear the author losses track of what is going on in her world and it starts to get chaotic. She really needed to sit down and read all of her books before she started this one since this book took place in such a large time frame. Plus that would have helped her keep track of what the other characters are all doing as well.

Forbidden love, danger and tons of angst as Fang and Aimee find their lives entangling more and more. Some funny, snappy dialogue.
Fang and Aimee are secondary characters in previous books that I have always enjoyed, and re-reading their story was lovely (even if it's not one of my favourites). Some corniness I could have done without but luckily it didn't have me cringing too much (specifically referring to the locket and reciting of words). Wanted a bit more magic when it came to the ending, that being said glad things worked out.
Simi remains an awesome demon.

Sherrilyn Kenyon, a rainha do paranormal. Desde o primeiro dia em que a li, em Janeiro de 2010, que fiquei com a sensação que estava perante uma das escritas com maior desenvoltura e inteligência na forma como apresentava e fazia evoluir tantos os personagens como o enredo global que os vais ligando uns aos outros. Sendo este o décimo oitavo romance que leio dela, já bateu qualquer record de autor mais lido por mim e nem sempre sou uma leitora fácil. Mais, acho que manter uma linha condutora durante quase duas dezenas de livros não é para qualquer um. É também a única série de romance feminino e sensual que verdadeiramente me prendeu desde o início. Dado que comecei umas quantas, principalmente durante a febre dos romances sensuais, penso que é dizer muito. Pelo menos para mim. Claro que tenho um lado muito suspeito, todos estes livros têm como base uma forte componente mitológica, mas acima de tudo é guiada pela esperança através da tragédia. Sim, admito que também eu tenho uma dessas veias tão sonhadoras que por vezes acreditam que o amor verdadeiro supera tudo. Ou não! Eheh, mas nestes romances, verdade seja dita, as personagens femininas são tudo menos mulherzinhas frágeis e solitárias, sendo antes senhoras do seu destino. O que me agrada. O estereótipo de rapariga frágil que precisa de quem cuide dela e a sustente nunca foi o meu género e aqui encontra-se um bom balanço no que toca a forças e a fraquezas entre protagonistas femininos e masculinos.
Neste Amor em Quarto Crescente temos como protagonista um Predador do Homem, Fang, que é um lobo Katagari, com o qual já nos cruzámos pelo menos no livro sobre o seu irmão, Vane. Aliás, esta é uma história que ao longo das suas páginas vai passando por vários outros livros anteriores, tocando levemente em pormenores que reavivam e unem tantos outros enredos que nos passaram pelos olhos em tempos passados. A personagem feminina é Aimee, também ela Predador do Homem, mas de uma raça diferente, uma ursa Arcadiana. Para quem não conhece esta mitologia, explicando muito rapidamente, estes são dois tipos de Predador do Homem dados como incompatíveis. A junção das raças não só é repudiada como ainda pode dar origem a grandes guerras. Já estão a imaginar o cenário não estão? Mais um amor impossível que Sherrilyn Kenyon apresenta com tanta mestria, ao mesmo tempo que coloca em marcha novos acontecimentos. O caminho que Aimee e Fang vão percorrendo é tudo menos fácil, com muitos sacrifícios pelo caminho, e são de louvar os valores familiares, de amizade e amor que vão sendo demonstrados.
Eu acho que me deixo viciar tanto nestes livros precisamente por ter tanto de humano numa trama tão sobrenatural. E depois a acção tem um ritmo tão frenético que virar página após página torna-se obrigatório. Devo ter lido este livro em duas vezes e só não li de uma vez porque iniciei a leitura à noite e convinha dormir umas horas. Voltamo-nos a cruzar com Acheron e com a bela Simi, continua a intriga constante sobre Savitar, mas é quando estamos na mente de Fang e de Aimee que o verdadeiro toque de midas se dá. O único problema deste livro é que não pode ser lido de forma isolada. Como disse anteriormente, o livro toca em vários outros, como a história de Vane ou Wren, e nem sempre é bem claro a que ritmo, espaço temporal, estamos. Ou seja, se nunca leram Sherrilyn Kenyon não comecem por este, pois o mais provável é ficarem muito confusos. Eu própria tive breves momentos em que tive de puxar por toda a minha memória para compreender na totalidade quem o quê e porquê naquele momento. Não obstante, eu gostei imenso da leitura e ouvi dizer que o próximo é sobre o Nick! Que bom que a Saída de Emergência não desistiu desta série, é mesmo só pena que o tempo entre publicações seja tão longo :)

Voltamo-nos a cruzar com Acheron e com a bela Simi, continua a intriga constante sobre Savitar, mas é quando estamos na mente de Fang e de Aimee que o verdadeiro toque de midas se dá. O único problema deste livro é que não pode ser lido de forma isolada. Como disse anteriormente, o livro toca em vários outros, como a história de Vane ou Wren, e nem sempre é bem claro a que ritmo, espaço temporal, estamos. Ou seja, se nunca leram Sherrilyn Kenyon não comecem por este, pois o mais provável é ficarem muito confusos. Eu própria tive breves momentos em que tive de puxar por toda a minha memória para compreender na totalidade quem o quê e porquê naquele momento. Não obstante, eu gostei imenso da leitura e ouvi dizer que o próximo é sobre o Nick! Que bom que a Saída de Emergência não desistiu desta série, é mesmo só pena que o tempo entre publicações seja tão longo :)

Another great installment in the Dark-/Dream-/Were-Hunter saga!
The story of Aimee, Fang and their impossible love has been long in the making, from the almost very beginning of the series, but it's been definitely worth the wait.
As much as this was mostly a solid paranormal romance, Kenyon-style, of course, I loved the fact she decided to delve a little deeper than the usual Daimon/Dark-Hunter/Were-Hunter dealings.
We've wondered if it was at all possible for two different species of Weres to "mingle", and though we had proof in Wren, we never got the true feeling of it. It was always considered a taboo in their universe, and with this story Ms. Kenyon succeeded in grasping and portraying all the anxiety, the indecision and fear of such an union.
Fang and Aimee both knew their love could lead nowhere, that they were doomed, yet the heart wants what the heart wants and it doesn't want to be denied.
Their story, as it grew from tender friendship to something more, through dangers, perils, misunderstandings, anger, and joy was a truly wonderful thing to read.
This book was also a great example of how a change in perspective can make someone rethink what they thought they knew and reevaluate everything. I've always been a big fan of Vane's, loved his book and his love story with Bride. Loved the wolf, period. Yet, seen from Fang's point of view, seen through Fang's story, I found myself not liking the guy so much. But he redeemed himself in the end, so I forgive him.
After all, they're men, we can't expect them to know any better.
This story spanned the entire series, so it was wonderful to see the familiar scenes through new eyes, experience them from a different perspective, see characters I came to cherish and love anew. Okay, I admit it, it was wonderful to see Acheron's bad-ass persona again. I missed him.
And there are some new bad boys in town I can't wait to see more of - Thorn and Varyk. Hope to see more of them in the future.
The final twist left me gaping, such uprooting was a bold move (and hopefully not a damning one) and waiting for more.
I was thinking of abandoning this series, but Ms. Kenyon returned with a bang, introducing us to more branches of her twisted little universe, and yummy new meat, and Fang and Aimee's love story was so beautifully and tastefully written, I'm firmly sticking with the Dark-Hunter wagon.
Highly recommended to new and old fans.

Hace bastante que no leía un libro de esta autora, y debo decir que tal vez cuando hice las reviews de todos los libros de ésta saga que leí hasta ahora (que son bastantes), fui muy generosa con el rating que les di (no a todos, pero a algunos de los libros), por eso se podría decir que mi manera de "calificar" a estos libros es distinto de como calificaría a un libro normalmente.
Habiendo dicho eso, quiero decir que tenía muchas expectativas respecto a la historia de Fang y Aimee. Desde el libro de Vane y Bride, que ésta historia comenzó a desarrollarse, y ese romance imposible entre ellos dos, era algo que me llamaba mucho la atención.
Este libro es un recorrido de la historia de Fang y Aimee desde el momento en el que se conocen, y es por eso que se retrocede hasta la época de Talon y Sunshine desde un principio para poder contar cómo fue todo entre ellos desde ese primer encuentro.
La autora agregó toda la historia de los demonios y cazadores de demonios en éste libro, así que es un cambio bastante grande de todos los libros previos en los que los enemigos eran los daimons y todo lo relacionado a la mitología griega. Acá no hay de eso, y eso me gustó.
Tal vez la historia no se centró tanto en el romance de Aimee y Fang como me hubiese gustado, y se fue más por las ramas, con todo lo referido a los múltiples enemigos que tenían, los personajes nuevos, los problemas relacionado a los demonios, etc etc.
Aún así debo decir que me gustó la forma realista en la que se desarrolló el romance entre ellos. Ésta autora es hiper insta-love, pero en éste caso no hubo insta-love. Eso me gustó, me pareció más real. Creo que fue la única vez en la que una historia de amor de ésta saga, no trascurre en el lapso de días o semanas, sino por el contrario, años.
Pasan años hasta que ellos realmente pueden estar juntos. Pasan años hasta que pueden superar los miles de obstáculos. Pasa mucho tiempo hasta que ocurre algo minimamente sexual entre ellos, y aún mucho tiempo más hasta que ellos hacen el amor. Todo se fue dando, tal vez más lento de lo normal, debido a todo lo que se iba metiendo en el camino de ellos dos, pero ellos nunca dejaron de estar enamorados uno del otro, y de ser leal el uno para con el otro, a pesar de no poder mantener una relación "normal".
También lo que me encantó, fue cuánto tardó Fang en decirle a Aimee que la amaba. No porque no lo hiciera, y tampoco porque no lo aceptara. De hecho, Aimee sabía que él la amaba, pero simplemente no formaba parte de la personalidad de Fang decir esas palabras así como así. Y el hecho de que fuera tan significativo, me encantó.
Esta historia de amor no fue mi favorita de ésta saga, porque mi favorita es, fue y seguirá siendo la de Astrid y Zarek, y realmente no creo que alguna vez la autora pueda escribir una historia de amor tan bonita como esa, en lo que a esta saga concierne. He leído casi todos los libros de esta serie (aunque me faltan unos pocos), y si bien hay historias de amor lindas, ninguna puede siquiera acercarse a lo que fue la historia de Astrid y Zarek.
Aún así, son unos libros entretenidos, y están buenos para pasar el rato.
Le pongo 5 estrellas porque como dije antes, siempre califique de una manera muy alta a éstos libros, y sino tendría que cambiar el puntaje a todos los libros anteriores (tal vez en algún momento lo haga), así que, así es más fácil. Además, como dije el romance de Aimee y Fang es adorable, y me pareció muy buena la idea de la autora de hacer una especie de recorrido desde los primeros libros hasta el presente, desde el punto de vista de lo que les pasaba a Fang y a Aimee, y así ver cómo pasaron las cosas entre ellos, desde el momento en que se conocieron, allá por la época en la que Vane ni siquiera había conocido a Bride todavía, hasta el presente.

This wasn't a bad read, but not what I expected.
The world of Dark-Hunters/Were-Hunters changed so much from what it was like in the first ten books, that it sometimes feels like I'm reading a totally different series.
That's what I don't like.
Even if I liked Thor's character, and wanted to know about him more, I feel like it was too much. Like he didn't belong in this world. Or shouldn't belong. Because every time I think I understand who is who and who is more powerful than who, Sherrilyn Kenyon goes and introduces some new character that is supposed to be even more powerful.
That's just silly. You cant keep broadening the scope and bringing in even more and more powerful characters. It's not very realistic to say the least.
Another huge problem I had was that this book (most of it anyway) was set in the past, and I was familiar with most of those events. In some cased I got additional information, true (because the same event was from different POV), but mostly, it was boring.
I kept waiting for the present day story to start. And because I had to wait this long, I only give 3 stars.
What can I say: I would not reread this book, and it's hard for me to recommend it, but... if you are DH world fan, then it's a must.

Este livro é prequela, sequela, história independente....Tanta coisa! Já fazia imenso tempo que não lia nada do mundo de Sherrilyn Kenyon e oh, como este livro deu para matar saudades de imensas personagens! E tantas reviravoltas aconteceram... Agora já só mal posso esperar pelo seguinte livro.

Gostei da história mitológica que está na base de cada personagem, bem-criada como sempre.
O universo deste livro é talvez um pouco diferente, pois trata não exactamente dos predadores da noite, apesar de eles aparecerem no livro, mas antes dos predadores do Homem. Fang é um predador do Homem que se transforma em lobo e quando ele e os seus irmãos vão ao Santuário, um bar em que todos os seres podem entrar desde que cumpram as regras básicas (que incluem, entre outras, não lutarem entre si), ele conhece Aimee, uma predadora do Homem, que é uma ursa e que é a única a transmitir a linhagem de urso da família – o que é um ponto importante no livro.
Aimee, como já estamos habituados com os livros desta autora, é uma mulher forte, corajosa, que sabe bem o que quer e está disposta a lutar por isso – e é o que eu mais gosto nela. Fang também tem muitos pontos positivos, desde a sua lealdade ao irmão que protege, à maneira como se relaciona com a Aimee e como os vemos no livro. A união destas duas personagens é das melhores partes do livro, lado a lado com a parte supernatural, que se imiscuí nesta relação e que traz ao de cima problemas com que todos nos relacionamos.
Uma série que irei continuar a ler pois continua a instigar a minha imaginação e curiosidade sobre este mundo paranormal e as suas personagens que aprendemos a gostar tanto.

This was so different! Why? Because considering Aimee and Fang's story started a long time ago, the book as well went through a series of event that we already knew of.
We find out how they actually met (and it was sweet), how Anya died and why their (Kattalakis) pack was slaughtered/attacked/beaten...take your pick.
It actually goes thorugh Vane's story and his mating and then sometimes Wren's story is in there too. And then Thorn is there, I mean it's the first appearance of the Hellchasers in the books (Is it? ), and I must say I like him (I hope he does not disappoint me like Nick did).
Sooo many things happened and sooo many characters were introduced that it was a hell of a jumble-mumble. But I loved them.
I understand why it focused so much on stuff that already happened in previous books but it doesn't mean I have to like it (I already got over the Anya fiasco and the Fury heritage that I didn't really need a reminder.) Yeah, where is Fury's story? Did I jump over a book or was it in Vane's? I can't really remember reading about his mating...
