Paranormal Outcasts: The Complete Series

Rate this book
In this paranormal world, her death is just the beginning
And to become elemental queen, it’ll be a trial by fire…

All Riley wanted for her seventeenth birthday was a fun night out. But when a knife-wielding psycho attacks her best friend, of course she tries to stop him.

Turns out, a knife through the heart isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Apparently, neither is death.

Instead of pearly gates, Riley wakes up alive and ensnared in a witch’s curse with twelve paranormals known as the Outcasts—including the inhumanly beautiful, totally-hates-her-guts vampire Jasper. Supposedly, an ancient prophecy says the thirteenth Outcast will be the one to break our curse.

That means Riley. Lucky number thirteen.

Between attempting to control her unstable new magic, figuring out what the deal is with broody Jasper, and learning more about the Outcast’s prophecy, it becomes clear that she’s a target. A dangerous paranormal knows about her connection to the prophecy and wants her dead. Only this time, dead means dead.

There’s only one thing to do: she’s got a destiny to fulfill.

Jasper of the Outcast seems to be the leader, but why does he treat me the way he does? Who really is Riley and what is she? She died, but yet still alive.

I must be really careful, all this excitement bubbling in me is a countless number of spoilers waiting to happen!

It's about fate - it will push and shove anyone on its path using the strangest means, from mind-blowing secrets to the unbelievably worst decisions. And age is not an excuse this time, because some of the main characters are really old... There is a lot to be said about the characters in this book- a very interesting cast, lots of imagination and packed with action, in a complex world promising to reach its potential. Some developments are classic, like good vanquishing evil in the nick of time - torn and bleeding, but victorious. It's the unexpected that made this trial so interesting, and all the seeds planted for those to come.
What I liked most is that she is not the Queen because she is fated to be, but because she has the attributes of legendary kings - she is brave, self-sacrificing, fair, empathetic, determined, smart, hard-working, generous (even magnanimous), loyal and wise beyond her years.
Add that to the "love conquers all" twist and a talented, creative writer who makes you feel it all in your heart and you get this very interesting book.

Fascinating characters, fast paced action and genuine feelings make this book a very good read, with a satisfying epic battle and a grand finale. I'm looking forward to finding out what's coming next from Sean, hopefully soon!

FANTASTIC! It’s 2:30 a.m., but I had to read to the finish. This series was about a girl that was caught up in a life she’d never imagined. This series was a fantasy, but Riley faced so many situations that we humans also face. And just like her, we too can find we’re stronger than we think we are, and we’re made stronger through our connections with friends and family.

Magic and adventures

Great storytelling with carefully crafted characters who are who life with incredible details. From the beginning there quite a bit of adventures some are unexpected but become clear as the heroine and her friends battling the power hungry and insane opposition. A wonderful st for anyone loving magic and adventure combined into a very immersive story.

Such a great series! Starts out with normal teenagers and takes a wild ride down paranormal lane: Vampires, shifters and ghouls, Oh My! Quick paced read that keeps you on a rollercoaster of emotions right up to the end! I think it's Sean's best work to date.

Excellent

The world building in this series is amazing. I loved the characters, well, most of them. Some were really evil. I truly enjoyed all of the action and adventure. No boring stuff to be found.
