Raelyn Cantorini, senior stewardess on the interstellar cruise ship Nebula Zephyr thinks the alien artifact she bought on the last planet the ship visited was just a pretty glass orb…until her pet Eyn knocked the ornament off a table, shattering it and sending her into an infinitely repeating time loop.
Stuck reliving the same day over and over, Raelyn has only hours to try to save the ship and everyone on board from dying in a terrible catastrophe. As she tries to solve the mystery of what happens to the ship right before midnight each time the day repeats, Raelyn meets Kev Stevens, the former Special Forces soldier turned actor and finds herself falling in love with him. Each time the day repeats, she learns more about him while he has no memory of her. Can she persuade him they’ve met before? Will he trust her enough to help stop the Nebula Zephyr’s destruction?
And if they do save the ship, will that reset time for Raelyn?
This is a lightly edited rerelease of my novella from the Pets in Space 6 anthology. No new material has been added.
USA Today Best Selling Science Fiction & Paranormal Romance author.
Veronica Scott grew up in a house with a library as its heart. Dad loved science fiction, Mom loved ancient history and Veronica thought there needed to be more romance in everything. When she ran out of books to read, she started writing her own stories.

Elvis Presley’s best friend once serenaded Veronica on a local TV telethon…now that could be a novel…
I really enjoyed this one. I've enjoyed multiple books by Veronica Scott and always like returning to her star cruise series where the books are all set upon the same star cruise ship. This story had a time loop plot line, while I am not a big fan of time travel stories, I often find time loops can be done well in scifi books. And that sure was the case here. The female main character and her pet Eyn get stuck in a time loop and every night the ship explodes. She's trying to figure out how to stop this form happening.
I liked the time loop set up here. There is a clear goal, namely saving the ship and everyone in it. And every day she tries to get closer to that. I like how she took different approaches, like the time she tried going directly to security or when she flirts with another guy to get information. I also liked how in every loop she ends up stumbling into the love interest somehow and seeing how their romance develops even though only she remembers their previous meetings. It sure was an interesting set-up, due to the fact that only one day happens for everyone else than the main character the romance did feel like it progresses a bit fast. I liked their connection and the way they seemed like a good match. The story has a satisfying conclusion and I liked the way the pet played an important role as well.
Raelyn is a stewardess aboard the premiere cruise ship of the galaxy and she loves her job, but a mishap with a broken mystical artifact sets her life into a time loop reliving the same day where she meets a gorgeous man and the ship is entirely destroyed in an explosion. Can experiencing the same day and gleaning more and more details each time help her prevent a disaster and maybe finally get the chance with ex Special Forces turned action star, Kev?
I've read three novellas from this series so I knew I was going to get an intriguing and spicy sci-fi romance with likeable characters in a familiar setting. I enjoyed the clever pet inclusion of an alien turtle who helps save the day, encountering familiar faces from past stories, and meeting spunky heroine, Raelyn who doesn't give up. Definitely want more Sectors series.
How is it this book has only 22 ratings? It's awesome! It's Groundhog Day meets Source Code meets a sweet slow burn of a romance in Space. The drama and intrigue are external to the relationship. The main characters are lovely, no controlling jerks, no whining damsels in distress, just a really great guy and a smart resourceful woman and a space cruise ship to save. Oh, and an adorable little critter called Eyn. What's not to love?? (P.S. only $3.73 on Amazon.ca - less than a coffee at certain popular coffee vendors) ☕ Highly recommended. I did read all previous stories, but it's been a while. Could definitely read as a standalone if you haven't read the others.
This poor girl keeps living the same day over and over with embarrassing incidents, a romance, a handsy movie star and then she’s blown up along with every one else on the spaceship almost every time just to wake up to start the day over again! It was fast-paced, light-hearted and fun.
This is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone. If you enjoyed the movie, Groundhog Day, you will find this story entertaining! The story moves along pretty fast with humor, twists, and romance. I got sucked in right away and I couldn't put the book down until I finished the last page! I can't wait for the next Star Cruise story and I hope Captain Fleming gets his story some day!
Short but really good. The heroine we didn't know we needed and also pretty believable on how an ordinary person may stumble through what's going on. It was a blast 😉
