Getting cheated on sucks. Getting cheated on and abducted by aliens is a punch to the tits. Getting cheated on, abducted by aliens and sold at a space auction though?

TBD.

And that’s because the man that bought me isn’t really a man. He’s a royal alpha. And he keeps calling me his mate…how this goes is anyone’s guess.

This is one of those books that would be a perfectly fine lil seggsy alien novella if it wasn’t for all the random mistakes.
The opening is our main character walking in the snow after fleeing a party where she caught her boyfriend cheating…and we spend a lot of time with snot and tears. But we don’t even get her actual name until chapter 2? But man did we say her boyfriend’s name every other sentence.
Also why would an alien call another alien a frog?….
And don’t get me started on the seggsy times where I swear she got naked…immediately had her hoodie back on…and proceeded to get naked yet again…..
this was not fun enough for me to look past the messy bits

As an authors first attempt the story was decent, however there were many issues with the structure of the story. Also, as a first book in a series, the story fails to explain and establish its main themes. It almost felt like i only got a small distorted glimpse of a tale that could be a full novel. But, nevertherless, omegaverse and aliens created an interesting novella.

Short but Packs a Punch!!

This was HILARIOUS. The author’s voice is absolutely perfect! Throughout the narrative - written in a way that seems almost like a stream of consciousness- it’s vastly entertaining despite the seriousness that’s occurring. Also, Despite the amount of information that HAS to be dumped to set the world, everything is explained over time in a way that was still entertaining.
This is the opener to the series - and I’m absolutely going to be devouring the rest. I want more.

It’s short - give it a chance. If you’re like me, the witty comments and offhand references will have you laughing. Also, it’s a con, but it only speaks to how much I enjoyed these 126 pages that I wish it was LONGER! I want mooore.

Royally Claimed de Jupiter Belle Serie Royally Claimed 1

Argumento:

That was a quick read, which was great because I struggle with staying focused even if the story is catching and interesting.

Though it was a good story, I was sometimes confused because it felt like I skipped a few pages or re-read them.
there were a lot of mistakes that made it even more confusing because one second she’s completely naked, and then she’s dressed again just to get undressed once again.
Also, there was a lot of information that was repeated in an unnecessary manner which made me think like “yes, I get it. Thank you.” Which took away the fun a bit.

Anyway, even though there were mistakes and situations that could have been described differently, the book was not bad and I would certainly read it again :)

Another Stuff Your Kindle Day book experiment down the well.

I might not have read it if I saw the cover, but it was a different one on Amazon Kindle. Mistakes were made. That being said, the book is not badly written but it left me feeling rushed and kinda bored.

The pacing is all over the place, with an extremely long introduction to the heroine's messy ex-love life and a walk in a blizzard taking up 1/3 of the book, followed by a short trip on an alien ship + being rescued, and finally the last third being all sex and horizontal action in an extreme Omega+Alpha cliche.

To sum it up, this is the typical Alpha and Omega novella smut, with random frog aliens thrown into the mix. It was definitely not my cup of tea.

a nice omegaverse short.

I really enjoyed this story, what we get of it. This author is obviously a very good writer, but this story was far too short to do this author’s storytelling ability justice. It is a shame, because I wanted to know way more about this world, it’s politics, and the nuances of these characters

Short, but straight to the point. More so a very detailed description of what an Alpha and an Omega actually are to each other. Not a lot of a storyline.

Considering this is a first book by a new author, not bad. Still not good though. Maybe a strong eh.

The first chapter dragged horribly and lacked a good introduction. You don't even find out the FMC name until the second chapter but you hear the spiel on how it's snowing and she got cheated on like six times. It felt like the story of her getting cheated on changed every one of those times too.

Darcy(FMC) seemed extremely weak that first chapter and then labels herself as a threat to aliens in the second one? It just didn't make sense. This starts a multitude of things that just don't make sense. How do aliens know what a cow is? Why does one alien call another alien a frog? It just isn't well explained and honestly needs a beta reader to go through.

Now, the plot was eh too. Could it be worked on and be better? Yes. Was it the worst book I've read? No. Would i recommend it? Not yet. Maybe after a revision or an update or even a full reworking of the story. But not bad for the first go.

Let me explain, The idea itself isn’t bad in fact it could have been done really well. Here’s the issues the book is choppy so you have the MC Darcy walking outside in the freezing snow because she caught her boyfriend cheating on her. She goes back the girl her boyfriend cheated on her with is crying (we never get an explanation for that) suddenly Darcy is floating and how she got to the spaceship is a mystery to me. Then we have the typical set up for alien romance with the captured girls making a plan and the get to know yous (that was well written) then boom it’s the she’s being sold her alpha shows up and buys her (are we ever told how he’s her alpha or how he knew she was his? No. Is there a get to know you with the alpha? No.) if this were a puzzle I’d say we have the edges and some middle pieces but a lot is missing. The framework is there but it needs to be filled in.

This is a short story but the pacing is kind of wonky, we know more about her human ex boyfriend than we do her alpha. Im not saying info dump but like a little plot development and background information for this new life might be nice. The Novell feels like we just ended before we reached the middle. I feel like the rising action would be starting soon but then the book was over. I think it’s a good start.

I saw the book on TikTok and I have the terrible habit of reading a book based off one line and here we are. So A+ on the marketing! I did read the first Novell.

Look right, I knew I should have ignore booktok, I knew what I was getting into, I was there for the IPB obsession, and still....still I downloaded and read this (KU has definitely had a negative impact on my decision making skills).

In a nutshell its crap, and not because of what it is, but because its a bad version of what it is.

If you're going to pick up a an alien smut novella then you should stick with IPB. Alternatively, put the smut down, go look in a mirror, and have a strong word with yourself

This is one of those unserious reads I can’t even rate properly because what did I read? I am always willing to read a monster /alien romance, and sometimes they have a good plot, but this one didn’t, and it didn’t motivate me to read the rest of the series. It had a good start, but it was all over the place, and the fact that she didn’t really freak out about not being on earth was quite insane. She was just like, huh? I would think I was going insane.

“Do you think you can keep what belongs to me away from me?”

“Get my mate out of those cuffs and off that stage.”

Imagine your boyfriend cheating on you, then getting abducted, and now your mate isn't even human. The book was fun in a “this is so bad” manner, and I flew through it in about an hour, so I didn’t retain much because it was a bunch of nothing.

“You realize I’m not going to let you go home.”

“All there is, is now,” I repeat his words quietly and nod that yes, I know, he’s not going to be letting me go.

Sure. No one is going to wonder where you went or ever assume you got abducted. Why not stay with your alien hot mate. Girl same.

─── ・ 。゚☆: OVERALL *.☽ .*:☆゚. ──

I mean truly what can you expect from an alien romance.

Exactly what it says on the tin

This is a short read, a “plot? What plot?” omegaverse alien abduction fic. Omegaverse is not my kink, but even so, I can tell you that this book doesn’t break any new ground or stray from the formula.

FMC is a very, very dull human who is abducted by aliens, infected with a mystery parasite? thing that turns her into an omega and sends her into heat. Sadly, FMC has never heard the word “estrus” before so it takes her way, way too long to figure this out, and it takes her even longer to grapple with the concept of mating and being bonded to her alpha.

MMC is an even duller humanoid alien of unspecified origin, lacking in any personality or interesting alien anatomy; his room in his spaceship is described as “minimalism” but with swords on the wall, and he is called “The Destroyer” so I suppose were meant to assume his job is just stabbing people or something, but who knows? It doesn’t matter, the point is, he’s an oversized humanoid with the appropriate equipment to service the FMC and that’s it.

Short as it is, I wouldn’t expect this book to have any content errors, but it does: the author thinks “greaves” is spelled “grieves”, and cannot quite manage to write either in present or past tense, switching between the two somewhat at random. This book gets 2 stars for being below average, but not so terrible that I couldn’t actually get through it.

like a scientific date rape drug

I really, really did not like this. Basically she gets kidnapped and turned into an omega. Which means she gets so horny around him she ceases to think clearly or react normally. Like being drugged at a club with something that makes someone both really horny and disoriented.

She gets so horny around him they basically can’t even have a conversation. And when he’s NOT around basically causing her body to drug itself so he can basically breed her then leave and do his own thing, she’s so depressed she basically was letting herself die. Why? Because basically decides he’s going to get his men to do this to other humans and she hates it. And can’t stop it.

I was super uncomfortable reading this. It really reminded me of another one I read where the conclusion was basically, “she’s getting off and she’s not being physically hurt, so is it really even still rape just because she can’t consent?”

In "Royally Claimed," Darcy grapples with the aftermath of discovering her cheating boyfriend in a compromising situation. However, her world is turned upside down when she's abducted by aliens and transformed into an omega on the brink of heat. Enter Ryat, an alpha king determined to claim Darcy as his mate, leading to a whirlwind of events involving daring rescues and intense passion.

While the narrative delivers on steamy encounters and intense chemistry between Darcy and Ryat, it's light on substantial plot development outside of these moments. Despite its brevity, the writing is solid, and the spicy scenes are sure to leave readers hooked. However, those seeking deeper storytelling may find themselves wanting more. Nevertheless, "Royally Claimed" sets the stage for further exploration of the series' world and backstory, particularly in subsequent installments.

I didn't realize this just came out but it was a cute little easy read. I had just finished a super dark/horror romance that I needed a palette cleanser and this worked well for that. I would have loved for there to be more to it, but it's good for a novella. It seems I've been reading mostly aliens and Omegaverse books lately and Royally Claimed is good at both of those. The writing is up to par with other Omegaverse books I've read. I'll be interested to see if this series turns out kind of like Ice Planet Barbarians with the other girls' stories.

Would love to know more of a backstory to the MMC's species and how/why he's a royal as well as how he got his name aside from his introduction to the story.

*Novella length*

Tropes and themes: alien romance with an abduction, omega female and alpha male, alien MMC, knotting

Summary: Darcy gets abducted from her house the night she finds her long-term boyfriend cheating on her. In space, she is taken to an auction where he is to be sold as a breeder. Unbeknownst to her, her captors also injected her with something that changed her biology, and now she is an omega. A Royal Alpha crashes the auction, claiming she is his mate, and he buys her and the other humans there.

Thoughts:
I thought this was a fun novella. There isn’t much story development, considering it’s length, but I think the series as a whole will be very interesting. I think I’ll save these shorties for palate cleansers!

Not bad for a first and a short story, but I feel like it didn’t really have a happy ending it just had an ending where you are left to hear about what their immediate future plans are. I feel like even though this was a short story it had more potential that was left hanging. Even though the author mentioned we’ll be seeing this characters again I still feel like we should have been given more about their ending. More about who they are as people as well would have been nice. Overall I would read something from this author again but probably not this book. Definitely in a few books though when she has had time to get comfortable writing more and giving more details.

This book reminds me a lot of Ice Planet Barbarians, but not as fleshed out. I feel like the end was cut off short and that there was really no climax to to the book. If this was a series of small novellas about the same couple, it would have worked better. There were also a few missing words that should have been caught in editing.

Also random questions...
- Are there bathrooms on this ship? Do these alien men even pee?
- Do they eat?
- What happened to the asshole ex? Did he just get the house after cheating on her in front of his entire med class?

Bad decisions abound

The biggest one was picking this story. Just take a Turkey, stuff the cavity and stick it in a place where you don’t have to think about it until the time is up. I don’t read that say. What is the point? I enjoy character development, intrigue, plot, you know - the things that make a book interesting and rewarding. By the middle I still hadn’t found it. Yet I kept going, thinking it had to develop, until I realized how far I’d gotten with false hope. Finally gave up 3/4 through. Yikes.

3.5🌟
This was more of like a filler book I suppose just over 100 pages. I loved the idea the plot but with the book being short you don’t quite get much of a story and the plot progresses quite quickly. So her boyfriend cheats, she gets abducted, then she’s up for auction, her mates saves her, then the rest of the storylines smut which I’m not complaining about but the book could of been more if it was longer and they’re was not plot.

but what I read I enjoyed anyway which is why it’s got 3.5🌟🌟

A full star for premise: She's just found her long-term live-in boyfriend cheating on her during a house party they are throwing. She storms out into the winter to walk off and cool her rage when she gets kidnapped by aliens and sold to the highest bidder - who happens to be a hot, ripped Alien Prince.

Half star for execution: it lacked chemistry, heat, and... for a book about a human kidnapped by aliens and sold to be a breading slave...believably.

Yeah, can safely say will NOT be reading anything else.

Short, sweet and spicy.

This book is only 6 chapters, and if you like it spicy it might keep you drooling for more. This cute couple comes together CNC Alpha/Omega style in the best way with few triggers. I would love for it to be a Flip/Flop book where we get to see Darcy's perspective AND Ryat's perspective. But alas... nope. All Darcy brain talk. Still good though.

Minor grammatical and spelling/word usage issues. Greave vs grieve for example. But easy to look over or mentally correct.

Love it. ON TO BOOK 2

Fun, but not for the plot

This is a really quick read and I loved the new concept with the alien abduction! The first few chapters I literally couldn’t stop reading, however, once the ML claims his FL, it goes downhill. There is the auction, claiming spiciness , and then nothing. No getting to know each other conversation; no more world explanation; everything is summed up after that in one chapter. Honestly, it was kinda a letdown. So definitely read if you just need something for a quick hour but the author definitely had good bones and didn’t build at all.

Skip it

I am confused what happened in this book. She was abducted, bought by an alpha and traveled with him to his home- that’s the whole story. They barely get to know each other- I think they said each others names once .
Now, I have read novellas before but this one was not well paced. Author spent too much time in the beginning in her head and then ran out of time so she summarized in one page .

royally claimed

Discovering that your boyfriend whom you have supported financially is a lying cheating scumbag was not on Darcy’s list of things to do today, or to be abducted on your walk to cool off.

After being poked and prodded she finds herself in a cell with a few other girls, awaiting their turn on the auction block.

When they pull her on stage she hears a sultry voice uttering the word ‘MINE’ and that shouldn’t be giving her body the chills of excitement it’s giving her or the pull to get close to him.

Grab your copy today and happy reading.

There was several grammatical errors or weird word placements that through me off. The details got mixed up in several places, like the author had describe Darcy as naked at the start of a scene, then later described Ryat cutting off her hoodie/top/bra a little later in the scene. It also gave me caveman vibes and I, personally, didn't find that appealing.

I found this book by accident and tbh I LOVED IT. It was really well written and so adorable 🥰
But I kinda wish it could’ve been a medium-burn or longer.
Don’t get me wrong I truly loved the book and Darcy and Ryat’s relationship, but still wished it was longer 🥲
Would recommend this book to those who love omegaverse!!!!

Great

The idea was great, at least for me I haven't read a topic or idea like this, I know there must be like dozens of books like this, but this is my first time reading it, and it was sad for me because it was way too short, and it would have been better as POV style, Ryat as an alpha and knowing his thoughts would have been great
