Meet Me on St. Patrick's Day

Rate this book
Is it just the (bad) luck of the Irish that keeps pushing Brennan and Quinn together, or something more?

Quinn Hayes and Brennan O'Keeffe are nothing more than perfect strangers, but when their paths cross often over the years, always on St. Patrick’s Day, they realise that they seem to share a connection they’ve never been able to find with anyone else. Their personal lives are messy and chaotic and ever-changing in so many ways, but their link always remains the same — until a struggling, troubled Quinn makes a misguided mistake, and as a result, believes she has lost Brennan for good.

Years later, she unknowingly walks into his bar, and their lives become entangled once again, with Quinn landing a bartending job as Brennan's co-worker at Irish pub, O'Keeffe's. Will they finally get it right this time, or will Brennan's secrets and Quinn's shadowy past ruin everything once and for all?

God I loved this book. I loved Quinn for being such a messy person, someone so completely relatable to me that I felt like I knew her. And I loved Brennan for how sweet he was and for his gentle soul. These guys have my heart and I won’t forget about this book for a long while! Please everyone pick up a copy and read it right now!!!!

I really enjoyed this charming story and my first, but hopefully not last, taste of Bryony Rosehurst. It tells the story of Quinn and Brendan whose paths cross on St Patrick's Day every year. Although the romance is slow to start it is still a very enjoyable and well written story.

This is an entertaining second chance romance with strong characters in Quinn and Brennan who run into each other every year on St. Patrick's Day. It's a slow burn romance with a great chemistry and has them finding their way toward love. It's well written, moves fluidly and is an enjoyable read.

I was struggling between wanting to rate this book 3 or 4 stars.
I really like the plot and the way they kept meeting on the same day.
I liked the writing style a lot.
I really loved Brennan.
I liked Quinn in the first few chapters and then to me she just became pathetic and whiny.
I hated the miscommunication.
I liked the last two chapters more than the whole book.

2.5 Stars for me!

My rating range of this story... 1.5 - 3.5 Stars
If significant, why? The h was just awful.
Biggest deduction? 1.5 Stars - the h was really awful through 80% of the story. Get the turn-around to start at the 50%, worst case, 60% mark please.

Heat Rating... 1/10
Clean or Fade to Black - 1 or 2
Normal to Descriptive 3-5
Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

The back story... The H has zero confidence and self-esteem thanks to mom so she is easily pulled into making horrible decisions. She meets the H a few different times, always on St. Patrick's day and always under difficult circumstances. The H steadily falls for her but cannot figure her out.

Romance or Gist: it is there but it never gets a chance to develop until the very end... and even then, it is still Rocky.

The drama explosion... The H learns the fate if his bar.
Did it feel Real, OK or contrived? Ok
Was it OTT? Yup
Separation involved? No
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Rushed

Final Notes... This story has a lot of promise but I felt that the author stayed continually in the heads of the MCs. While the h started her enlightened changes around the 80% mark, the H became a selfish jerk until the last 15 minutes of the story. This will be a very rocky relationship.

On the author, I did enjoy the premise of the story and hope that I will like her characters more in future stories. What is good to me might be horrible to others and vice-versa. I will look forward to reading/listening to another one of her stories.

This book was so much more beautiful than I imagined when I picked it up. Quinn and Brennan were both a little broken and fate up bringing them together on St. Patrick’s Day. Brennan was there on one of Quinn’s worst nights, and Quinn was there when Brennan had a chaotic night of his own. One of their chance meetings ends so badly Quinn doesn’t think she’ll ever see him again.

Except she does. And this time she’s cleaning up her life and repairing her relationship with her family. She’s in a different place than she was when she first met him, and she convinces him to take a chance on her. It starts as a job in his bar. Then they rekindle the friendship, and it grows from there.

This book was angsty, but it was worth it. I loved watching how Quinn pulled herself out from the partying lifestyle that she was in and made real amends to get herself on the right track. I was happy with her family and Brennan was always a great support for her. This book covers multiple types of healing, different sexual orientations, and a whole other host of different things that a lot of people can relate to. It's a great St. Patrick's Day (or anytime really) pick!

So I went into this book blind I didn’t know what they book was about and I have never read anything by this author before today. The cover is super cute and the title is amazing for this book.

So the main character Quinn and Brennan are at different part in their life’s when they ran into at a St. Patrick event. Quinn is a point of her life where so want to make something of herself and I think that is so amazing but the people around her keep bring her back down to same place she was but she not happy anymore and want to make a difference in the world. Brennan is kind at the same place but not really he got a family that is there for him and support him kind of. When these two keep running into each other on the holiday something is always going on with one of them and a good way or a bad way. Over the years they move on or try to but then Quinn work on herself and then one night they meet again and the rest in my eyes is history. They finally get to together for good and I’m so happy they found peace and happiness with each other.

This is not your average rom com. It dealt with some pretty heavy topics and I recommend reviewing the content warnings before reading this.

Quinn is a mess. She has very low self-esteem, drinks too much and has pretty rotten friends. She used to have dreams of going to college, but let others (her mom and her friends) tell her she wasn't smart enough. So she kept drinking...

Brennan is a transplanted Irishman whose uncle just bought a pub in NYC. Brennan was already working at the pub, but now he has a future plan - take over running the pub someday.

Somehow Quinn and Brennan keep meeting on St Patrick's Day, going back at least 12 years. Slowly they formed a friendship of sorts. Both are trying to find their way in the world. Maybe they can do that together?.

"She looked for him in every cab driver, every man riding the subway, every passerby."

Meet Me on St. Patrick's Day follows Quinn and Brennan on their happenstance run-ins over the years throughout New York City - always on St. Patrick's Day.

After romantic, chaotic, and a few drunken meet-ups, Quinn ends up getting a job bartending in Brennan's Irish bar. Will their messy history ruin any chance of making a relationship work, or have they been destined for each other all along?

If you love sarcastic banter, golden retriever male leads, and relatable young adult characters, this book is for you!

Good Gracious, I Loved This!

I wanted to smack Quinn around as I watched her self sabotage her life. However, just as in real life you can't help somebody who isn't ready to be helped. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review; spoilers will follow this disclaimer.

I loved this book so much. I loved watching kismet bring Quinn and Brennan back into each other's lives every St. Patricks Day. I loved the pub, I loved Quinn (and eventually Brennan) making amends with their Dads. And I loved the exact HEA ending I had predicted for them. This was my first book by Bryony Rosehurst, but it certainly won't be the last!

I loved this book and I loved watching Quinn and Brennan bump into each other every St. Patrick's Day. I loved Quinn for the mess she is, and I find that even if I don't have some of the same issues as her, she's rather relatable (even if I did want to smack her for her self sabotage). And I loved Brennan for how down to earth and sweet he is (why can't men in real life be like the men in my books?). Up until this point, I haven't read any of Bryony Rosehurst books, but I tell you, it won't be the last.

This book is the perfect romance novel to spend a St. Patrick's Day with. Go get your copy now, you won't regret it.

Meet Me on St. Patrick's Day is a charming romance with characters that it is easy to fall in love with. In a strange twist of fate Quinn and Brennan run into each other every year on St. Patricks Day, their paths crossing in a variety of ways from simply bumping into each other on the street, to Brennan picking up Quinn as an Uber driver, to them working together in a bar. No matter what the circumstances there always seems to be something of a spark between them, even if both of them can't seem to figure that out at the same time.
I loved that although both these characters were flawed,( and all the more human for that) they each took responsibility for themselves, with some help from each other along the way of course.
This was a really fun idea for a romance, and it was executed very enjoyably.

don't know why I thought this was going to be a cute, fluffy romcom themed on one of my favorite holidays but damn this was an emotional roller coaster that really got me. Our two main characters keep running into each other on St Patrick's day (which is unrealistic, but I loved that part).

Both of them feel like real, flawed, traumatized people and have clung to each other in a really beautiful way that is also kind of unhealthy - but again makes it feel realistic.

I really loved this 🍀💚

Brennan and Quinn first met after bumping into each other at a Saint Patrick’s Day parade. Then they continue to run into each other randomly but always on Saint Patrick’s Day. They both have issues each time they meet and it never is quite right for either of them until the one time that it is. It was a cute, sweet story but the audiobook narrator left something to be desired and it definitely distracted me from the story.

Meet Me on St. Patrick's Day by Bryony Rosehurst is a good, and enjoyable second chance romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. This is Quinn and Brennan's story. That is one of them finding their way back to each other.

I mostly rated it 4 stars because I appreciated the 'friends to lovers trope' with no drama. Just good ol' fashioned adults communicating and growing. I may have felt the ending was rushed and a few of the author's decisions for characters a little forced, but I enjoyed it, and it was a simple and refreshing romance.

I really wanted to like this book, but it was hard to read about two characters who didn't seem to want to change until roughly 60% of the way through the book. They're both going through very difficult things, but watching Quinn keep self-destructing was too much for me to handle. Overall, I can see why people who love a more complicated hero/heroine would love this, but it wasn't for me.

This book was not what I had expected at all. I thought it would be cutely and fun. I was hoping for some light hearted reading that day. There's nothing light or fun about this book. It addresses multiple real life, serious issues. It's really a story about 2 very broken people finding each other over and over again, until they both heal enough to make things work.

This book was long for no reason.. Idk if it was me that wasn’t clicking with the characters or just the story wasn’t of my liking… I was about to DNF but decided against it and the only reason this book got a 3⭐️ was for the last 3ish chapters which I enjoyed… I’m glad I’m done with it

This was a cute read for March. It was somewhat predictable but a quick read. I do not recommend the audio for this book. I wanted to just get through the book fast for a book club, but couldn't stand the audio.

This is a cute storyline of finding yourself even when others don't help. Redid book with my friends so we could talk about the book.
