Get Unrealistic is the tool that every believer needs in their spiritual arsenal. Reality wants to shape your values, your perspective and your worldview. Each new day tries to force us to accept our current reality. This book is designed to remove the lid from your faith. Right now, what we see determines what we believe. God designed for our beliefs to determine what we see. This book will equip you to begin praying unrealistic prayers, embracing unrealistic dreams, and beginning some unrealistic pursuits. Too often we are taught to be more realistic. God has not called you to be realistic. You can’t be realistic and a person of faith at the same time. Realities are not meant to be accepted; God wants them to be challenged and overthrown. Your life won’t change until you get unrealistic!
What stood out to me most was the way he weaves biblical stories, personal testimony, and real-life application together so seamlessly. It’s not just theory; it’s a call to action. His message about refusing to be boxed in by “what makes sense” in the world, and instead trusting God for the impossible, was exactly the encouragement I needed.
This book is excellent in directing your faith to a higher plane. We think we have faith but this book causes you to see really if you have faith. It causes you to build your faith scripturally. I would recommend this book also for youth. It teaches them they have a part to play in this life and gives encouragement and tools to meet there goals. This book I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a number one seller. It's a faith builder.. Your relationship with God will grow tremendously. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this book. I would recommend buying an additional book to share with someone.
Highly recommend!!! (But… just stop reading after the first 4 chapters, then jump to chapter 21.)
This book was absolutely amazing! If only it ended after the first four chapters. I can say that perhaps part of the last chapter was also useful. So I highly recommend this book for chapters 1 through 4, and the final chapter.
The middle chapters were I guess space fillers. Filled with tons of personal stories and dragging out very simplistic and outdated examples from the Scriptures. It was very much reeked of mixture, mixing human centric effort and “obedience “with grace and gifts from above. This confusing and mixture has debilitated the church for many years and that’s what disappoint me most about the middle chapters.
We’re told in the beginning that the apostles weren’t any different than us. They were people that just stepped out on faith! But then we’re told that they have some supernatural special ability for stepping out on faith, focusing on Peter rather than the supernatural power of Jesus. Then alluding to some false narrative that Jesus was somehow putting them in danger by not getting into the boat immediately. That was indeed laughable to me because that is so unscriptural.
So all of the chapters, everything from chapter 5 until chapter 20 – were useless to me for the most part. I definitely pulled out the scriptures from them because those were useful. Everything else was a waste of space and words.
It just seemed as if the writer wanted to fill in the pages and used all of his erroneous theological beliefs to do so. Whereas, in the beginning chapters and in the very end, he actually had the courage to say what is indeed true. All things are possible with God, and with him, unrealistic faith is most assuredly realistic.
You don’t need an action plan, or to figure out your deepest doubts, or whatever else he’s telling you to do. Because it reeks of self effort, introspection, and legalism. Which definitely kills any type of faith.
So my recommendation, read chapters 1 through 4 over and over and you literally cannot go wrong.
Sprinkle in the last chapter chapter 21), and it will add a beautiful cherry on top. Throw the rest away!
The only other thing that was missing was a powerful summary to end the book. I wish the writer would have removed all of the chapters, chapter 6 through chapter 20. Then focus on a powerful chapter at the end to summarize and bring it all home. Perhaps the publishers were asking for a certain word count, and he had to be creative and fill in the middle with a bunch of confusing and contradictory fluff.
Don’t get me wrong – I definitely recommend you buy the book because chapters 1 through 4 are definitely worth it.
A marvelous book! This book has 21 small chapters and I started it on a 21 day fast back in January. I planned to read a chapter each day on my fast, but that didn’t happen. In a huge way, I’m glad it didn’t. I read this book over the past 3 months and I’m glad I’m stretched the book out — it served as a faith builder over a longer period of time than I planned for. This book will teach you, ground you, educate you, elevate you, and challenge you. This will definitely be a book that I read every year and a book that I will gift often. For those on their Christian walk, new to the Christian walk, on a faith journey, or rediscovering their relationship with Christ… I highly recommend this book. Excellent!
This book is relevant to all. No matter if you are young, old, black, white, male, or female, ALL! It will stretch your faith and help you to see that all things are possible with God. To have unrealistic faith is to trust in God no matter the outcome of a situation, or how you perceive the answer to your prayers. Excellent book, easy read, I recommend it to all.
This book came at the perfect time to challenge and encourage me to new levels of believing and heights of faith. It’s served as a manual of sorts to understand faith and how it works and clear up some misconceptions and blind spots. God clearly let him to write this book and I recommended to anyone who wants to walk in new and closer ways with God in Jesus Christ!
This is a great journey of Unrealistic Faith. The author discusses many people of the Bible and their journey from ordinary realistic thinking and living to unrealistic lives of power. I found the book to be very positive and uplifting.
Great book and reminder that we serve a mighty God who provides for us and reminds us to live an impossible life. Because we live only a life as possible as our belief in the God we serve.
Since it's publication i have read this book and recommended it countless times. Not only will you feel encouraged by the messages in this book, but it points you in the direction of a deeper relationship with God. Would recommend.
I recommend every Christian to read this book. You will see the Lord’s love and mercy afresh. The author uses everyday experiences to bring alive the character of Jesus
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is one that can be read over and over and gain gems each time. I would highly recommend the book to anyone that wants to move to a higher level in their relationship with God!
