When I was eight years old, my dad tried to kill my mom. Dumping her body in the back of his truck, he came back for me and my younger brother. He wanted to finish us, too.
That was my first step down a dark path. Fifteen years of running from one disaster to the next. Drugs. Guys. Dancing in strip clubs. Self harm. Suicide attempts. You name it, I did it.
Even for a survivor, the darkness can be too much to bear.
At the height of the Charlotte rave scene in 1999, I met Trent. It was love at first sight. We lived for the next high, doing drugs and dealing them. We got married and shortly after that, everything fell apart. Trent went to prison for drug trafficking. There, he said he found Jesus, while I started down my darkest path yet.
Undone is the true story of how two broken people found love and redemption in a Father neither ever knew.
I'm often lured in by fancy book titles, celebrity endorsements and thrilling excerpts promising ‘…an amazing story of God’s grace and mercy’ only to quickly tire after only a chapter or two because it JUST ISN’T REAL. Fear not! That’s NOT the case with ‘UNDONE’! I read UNDONE in a single sitting, compelled at the end of each chapter to read “just a bit more’ and to know - what more could possibly happen? How much more can they take? I’ve known Carmen and Trent for years, and I’d heard part of their story. UNDONE rips the band-aid off and tells the whole story - the whole messy, violent, sad, scary story. Without fear of judgement or shame, Carmen and Trent share what it’s really like to be loved unconditionally. As a pastor, I’ve heard too often, “…but I’ve done done some really bad stuff…’ or “…there’s no way anybody could forgive the things I’ve done…” UNDONE is the raw, unfiltered look at just how far a loving God will go to redeem His children. This messy, violent, sad, scary story is a love story - between two broken people who love each other, and between a God who loves enough not to give up!
From the first page, I could not put this book down. Trent and Carmen's story has left me UNDONE but also transformed. Each page is full of both heartbreak and Healing. Sadness and Joy. Loss and Found. Disappointment and Hope. The author's first-person narrative was compelling and I appreciated the point of view on their story throughout the book. I was left wanting to know more of their story and more of the God who never stopped pursuing them throughout these pages.
Believer or nonbeliever, we all can resonate with feeling lost at some point living in a broken world. UNDONE is a story FOR all of us. We all could use a story of overcoming more than ever. We all need to remember that forgiveness, redemption, and love are available to us Thank you Trent and Carmen for sharing your story with the world.

There were times I could not stop reading this book - and times I had to put it down. It is moving, gripping, even disturbing at times. Most of all, it is honest, in the most real and raw and authentic way. This stark honesty is delivered with such exquisite detail that every sorrow is shared, and every joy becomes your own. We are transported to the mind of a young girl with nothing to lose, the heart of a young man with everything to gain, and the hand of a Father whose redemptive love changes everything. Their story pulls you in from the first word and holds you until the end, but is shared with so much grace. Everyone needs to read this book. Believers and unbelievers. The lost and the found. So many who will find themselves in these pages, who will find HOPE in these pages. It takes tremendous courage and vulnerability to share on this level, but it is truly the way to set the captives free.
John 1:5 states “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” Undone is a powerful read of 2 lives who were broken and in darkness but not undone because the light of Jesus refused to be dimmed! To God be the glory for the loving, restoring, redeeming, forgiving and persistent love of God as so beautifully written about in the Posts’ UNDONE.
Wow is what comes to mind with what you guys went through. Then amazement of how God works all the days of your journey out. The bad the ugly and the good! I would recommend this book to the person who is broken and feels there is no hope or way out of the pain and nightmares. God can and will help you forgive and set you free.
This should be required reading for all Christians and non Christians alike.
This is more than a "story". This is life lived through trauma, fear, failure, forgiveness and on to Redemption. To one who wants to know the age old question, "Is God real?" need only to read this and know Carmen and Trent. Halfway through the book I could see what Satan was trying to destroy God raised up to who you are today. You are both so amazing.
I can't wait for book 2 and the continuation of your lives and how and why you ended up in Ethiopia.
While reading Undone I was pulled into a world unimaginable. I quickly turned the pages waiting and hoping for it all to end. To know this is not a story of fiction, shows just how big out God is. Abuse, addictions, prison, nothing is too big for our God with surrender. I promise you will devour this book and will be left wanting more. Looking forward to the next book release by Trent and Carmen Post.
Heartbreak, fear, unconditional love, unbelievable craziness, forgiveness…I sat reading in tears, shock(and I knew some of their story), giggling here and there but most of all, in complete awe of our Daddy(as Carmen has taught me to say)!! I sit here now in tears with so many thoughts and emotions, so much I’ve thought about saying. But God, He allowed these two to go through hell and back to bring them to so many!! And now through this unbelievable book, they will touch so many more!! Thank you Daddy and thank you Carmen and Trent for listening to Him!!! Love you two so much!!
A tale of real, raw beauty. This really moved me and I recommend it to anyone looking to discover an authentic encounter with Christ. Nothing soft and fluffy here. This is a hard but ultimately rewarding read and I'm glad I picked up this week.
This is a book about an incredible story. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what you’ve done God can redeem you & use you. Thank you for sharing your story!
A true story of sanctification and redemption. A love story. An unlikely story of heart and life change. You can see God at work in two lives and how His plan prevails when all seems hopeless. I read the whole book in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down.
Raw and real This amazing story of two people I thought I knew but had no clue of the pain and fear life brought them . I found my self heart broken for their stories and times I found myself thinking this can’t be the girl I know . I worked with Carmen during the time Trent was in prison and knew then God Had Great plans for her !! I saw the pain, new some of what she was doing and that she wasn’t sure of her future with Trent . But God!! Our Amazing God ! He transformed these two ! This is a story of how God can turn bad to good and use anyone who will submit to His will . I am so glad Carmen and Trent have the love, peace , joy and abundant life today but man what they went through to get here !!
I am sure God will use their story to help others in their healing journey to find fullness of life .
Riveting. The Posts’ stories of redemption remind me to be joyful in my salvation, fill me with hope for my loved ones I’m praying for. Thanks for writing about the pain of your past so you can brag about all God has done.
Undone is a raw and honest account of Carmen and Trent Post's lives. Though my life experience is vastly different from theirs, the beautifully written details gave me a glimpse of what it felt like to come through terrible trauma and abuse. I couldn't put it down! There were parts that made me cry and moments of victory that made me want to stand to my feet and cheer! The best part of this story is the magnificent faithfulness of God. He can redeem even the worst pain for His glory!
Omg!!!! I don’t even know where to start. I started with tears and finished with tears!!! Carmen!!! And Trent, first and foremost I want to hug you forever!! Reading your story, God has restored back my faith!! Now I know why you are in my life!! You were sent for me I swear that’s how I am concluding about this book. One of the hardest thing for me to do this past three years were how to forgive people that hurt me to my core. As a Christian women I should but I am struggling with that. However, after reading your stories, I have nothing to complain but To praise God that you are in my Life. Some parts I had to read it again to actually internalize it. All in all I see God’s miracle, faith and Love throughout the story. When God created us he has a purpose! I am glad he created you both. Through you guys, He restored my faith back. Love you so much!!!! ❤️😘🙏🏽
A book that you will not want to put down. Carmen and Trent’s vulnerability and transparency is refreshing in a world that only wants you to see the “best” parts of themselves. Their testimony is a amazing reflection of God’s love for us. I highly recommend this book!
Such an amazing page-turner!!! Once you have it in your hands, you don’t want to put it down. An awesome TRUE story of REDEMPTION & FREEDOM after dark times. Highly recommend to any and everyone!
