Each book in the Orcs & Outcasts series is a steamy, stand-alone, monster fantasy romance with a happily-ever-after and no cliffhangers.

Her orc protector de L.E. Radey serie Orcs& Outcasts libro 1
Argumento:
Humans have been living behind tall walls away from the orcs that share their planet for a few hundred years. The kingdom spreads stories that it was the orcs who made their land more dangerous and barren. The king charges high taxes on his adult citizens within the wall. Second and subsequent children pay a higher tax when they have grown up. Daphne is the second born of twins and tried her best to find a job to pay her taxes but with very little luck. She even put herself in the marriage auction but had no bidders. Since she can't pay her taxes she has to leave the kingdom and go out in the Wild land. Everyone else in her situation takes poison to avoid being force to leave but Daphne has a strong desire to live. She travels across the wasteland hoping to reach the river that separates the humans and the orcs. She wants to be near the water but she is scared of the orcs. Just as she gets close to the water, she is bitten by a viper. She continues to the river preferring to die in comfort. She gets to the river just in time to see an orc child being carried away towards a waterfall. Risking her own life, she saves the child. The orcs are very grateful and she learns that they are nothing like the orcs she has been told stories about. The orcs take her back to their village while they wait to find out if she will live or die from the bite. Luckily she does survive and she learns that life with the orcs is much better than her old life.
Hawthorn is the lead warrior for the orc village and the younger brother of the leader. Daphne had saved his nephew and he is very drawn to the human woman. He is really hoping that she survives. He stays with her while she is sick and wants to make her his. Will she accept him?. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Daphne is throw out from the protective walls of her village and expected to die. Three days later, badly dehydrated, she is still alive despite being in the Wild Lands now where the Orcs are. But she had to find water. Her skin was burned by the sun so that even resting her head on the bark of a tree caused her pain. She dropped her empty water-skin and, as she reached for it, a black blue struck her hand and left two punctures as a snake slithered away. Her lungs burned and her legs trembled as she determinedly walked toward where she thought a river flowed.
Finding the river Daphne drank her fill, then heard shouting. A small child was being carried to the rapids. With her last bit of strength, Daphne crawled out on a skinny tree to reach down and grab the child as he passed. He grabbed her arm and she pulled them back until he could crawl onto the shore. She pulled him close to her as his teeth chattered, trying to keep him warm. Three adult Orcs ran to them. They introduced themselves to her, and Hawthorn even gave her a slight smile. They were impressed by her courage. Then he saw the marks traveling up her arm. She had until the next morning before she would die. No one had ever survived the bite.
The Orcs took her to their village. They were kind to her. She had been prepared to die, but meeting these Orcs, she wished she could spend more time with them. They were filled with compassion, beauty, honor, respect, laughter, and love. Distressed, she felt a warm hand touch hers and tell her he was there and she was not alone. Would she amaze them all and survive the deadly viper bite? Does Fate have a special role for her if she lives?
I’m always in the hunt of a good Orc/monster romance story. I’m very particular. I want a strong willed heroine and I want a fierce protective Orc and I of course want crazy amounts of steam and swoon. It’s a tall order for sure, but not impossible right? Well, Her Orc Protector by L.E. Radey was pretty close?? It had plenty of swoon but kinda lacking in the steam. Honestly I was more than ok with that, which was shocking! I’m like is something wrong with me? I think I would have been completely fine if this was the one and only “clean” Orc story I were to have stumbled upon, which is so unlike me. I’m always like where’s the hanky-panky at?!? But with this story and how it was playing out I found myself dreading the obvious upcoming sexy stuff. I think because this story was just so fluffy compared to most in this genre I was just thinking ok let’s keep it PG. I think I’m probably just being weird but the things they were doing just didn’t really get the response that the author was intending. Things I did enjoy! One, likable characters all around. Hawthorn especially. So cute and sweet and pretty dang swoony. Loved how open minded and big hearted the Orcs were. Free to love whoever. So nice 😍. It’s a pretty short story and like with most short stories it’s a lot more of telling not showing unfortunately. I enjoyed this and I’ll definitely be checking out Bay’s story and I really hope this series continues so Ridge can get his own HEA too!!! Ohhhh and maybe a spin-off for Willow or a prequel story featuring Branch and Ivy?? Great world building and a nice soothing read for a jostled heart.
L.E. Radey is a new author for me. I discovered this book on a Friday night when I just wanted something different to read. I'm so happy I took the chance on a new author. I loved this story. Great world building and characters that have terrific chemistry! Daphne comes from the human kingdom where if your not wealthy than your life is full of hardship and suffering. She's exiled and survives a grueling walk across the savage lands. When she reaches a forest with a river she's just about to drink when she's bit by a poisonous snake 🐍. When she looks down the river she's sees an Orc child being dragged down the river. She's forgets her own pain to help save a child and that's when she meets Hawthorne. Hawthorne is an Orc and the brother of the chief of his village. When his nephew falls into the river he and his two brothers try to get to him but a human woman sees him first and puts her own life at risk. When they truly meet Hawthorne realizes she's been bit by a date viper and he and his brothers take Daphne to their home to see if they can heal her. This is the start of a new life filled with love, acceptance and a place to call home. Excellent story and I can't wait to read the next in the series! Highly recommend🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖💖💖💖🔥🔥
I really enjoyed Hawthorn and Daphne's story. This is the first book I have read by L.E. Radey, and won't be my last. Daphne is banished from her village into the wild lands of the evil warrior Orc's, when she becomes badly injured with no supplies, and no place to go, Daphne comes to peace with death. When she finds herself face to face with a group of warrior Orc's she expects a quick death but instead she finds herself being carried by Hawthorn to the Orc's village and being nursed back to health, Hawthorn not leaving her side as he has an instant feeling of affection and protectiveness toward Daphne. On the journey she finds the stories she has been told are lies and hope starts to bloom that she might have a second chance at life and maybe love. I enjoyed this book so much. It left me with such a I'm happy for their HEA glow. Radey is one of my new favorites. She does such a good job with pace and characterization. I always feel so satisfied even though the stories are fairly short.
There was a lot going on in the book both external to the couple and internally. Especially with Daphne as she is getting used to a new culture. But it is all well set up and I felt like the book moved but didn't rush. I got to know Daphne and Hawthorne, who felt well drawn. And I really enjoyed the secondary characters. I hope we get to spend more time in this world in the future.

Outcast from her village to a much better life! Daphne (h) and Hawthorn (H) tale was a fun Orc romance from start to finish. Daphne is an outcast with a troubled past btu is still a strong, caring character who proves to be something special to the Orc community. The attraction between Daphne and Hawthorn grows into love for one another and when their relationship takes off, it really takes off - very hot and passionate...O balls with oil! It has a good storyline going on, the Orc community was portrayed as a very positive environment, and the characters were all interesting, including Bay and Ridge who I look forward to seeing in future books in the Orcs and Outcasts series.
This was a well written, enjoyable, fast paced & HEA story. Signs can mean so much to so many people. The strength, love and unexpected paths are worth the read
Daphne, a human, whose life so far has been horrible until her decision to rescue a child marks a change for the better. Will she find a new life and accept it?
Hawthorne, an Orc, is protective towards Daphne, to an extreme. His feelings, affection & choices will change all their lives. Enjoy their story.

This was a fun little Orc romance with a devoted alpha hero and a sympathetic heroine. The world building was deftly sketched out in a shorter word count and the plot was tight, logical, and coherent. There was plenty of action and high stakes to keep me turning the pages rapidly. I look forward to reading book 2 in the series when it releases. I recommend this novel!. I received a free copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cute but I had some issues with the writing! The competition that was promised didn’t even take place so it was all this buildup and no pay off.
As well as she’s supposed to be this powerful fated healer; I would have like a seed planted earlier in the book that hints to the reader that “she never fit in for some odd reason” and then it comes to be when she is found in the orc village. Overall sweet but very little spice. Also… no angst, like at all.
I loved this book! Great world building and I loved the characters. I warmed up to Daphne and Hawthorn very quickly. Their relationship growing throughout the story was really enjoyable. The story caught my interest from the start. The beginning of a wonderful new series and I can't wait for more. I recommend picking this one up. 5 stars.
After heroine is bitten by a snake, she survives and now her blood can be used to make a cure if anyone else is bitten. So the orcs are happy to have her join their tribe.
They hold a competition for any orc who wishes to compete to be her husband. Heroine didn't understand and thought they were competing to be her bodyguard.
This is a great orc/sci-fi romance! I liked it a lot! It has kind-hearted orcs and adventure, a new life and new love... I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love Daphne and Hawthorn's story. Their relationship grows slow and organicly. The chemistry and connection between them is hot! The storyline is interesting and entertaining. I liked the take on the orc community. I look forward to reading more of L.E. Radey's Orc romances.
Charming romantic thrilling steamy page turner of a simple book about a woman as a gentle monster who turns out to be the love of her life. Great book.

This was such a wonderful story. This was the first I've read from this author, but it won't be the last. I loved the character development and the storyline. It was sweet and just steamy enough to sink your teeth into. Loved it!
I totally enjoyed this well written sweet story about a human outcast stumbling upon some orcs only to discover she's someone special among the orc tribes after being bitten by a viper and surviving . It was a good read.
A gentle take on the orc trope. All the characters were engaging and likable and I loved the naming system for them!!! Looking forward to seeing this world grow and other warriors finding love!!
