Victoria writes about guys loving other guys in between dodging bullets, kidnappers, and serial killers. She enjoys putting them through hell to get their happy ever after—it’s a character flaw she embraces.
She also believes that family is who you choose, that dogs are often much wiser than human beings, and that we’re steadily destroying the world we live in.
And if people read more books, they'd be much happier.
Book 2 (Jax and Riley's Story) in the Hunter's Creek Series is just as wonderful as book one. Come back to the Foster home for shifter children and reunite with old friends and new ones. Victoria Sue brings her characters to life and has you falling in love with each one. Well except the bad guys who you will love to hate. This series shows that family is not always blood but it is those who cross your path in life that you can not imagine life without once you meet them.
. . . É uma leitura F(. . .), desculpe pela palavra, eu amei 🖤. . . . . Boa Leitura 😘
Okay, so I have to collect my thoughts when reviewing this one…it may be all over the place because this book is all over the place. Do I like the series? Sure. This one 2.5-3 stars. Will I read the third book? Yep. Will I regret it? Meh. I just feel like this author has a lot going on and not a very good editor. Some things just didn’t make sense (and I know it’s fiction, but it can still make sense and be consistent): 1 - scratching my head because in this world can all men have babies? I ask because why was everyone acting surprised that Jax knew Sai was an omega if he was heavily preggers*eye roll* 2 - Why have male omegas and Luna wolves disappeared for thousands of years and now they’re turning up at Hunter’s Creek and somebody there is their mate *eye roll* 3 - Were they involved in a serious accident outside of a daycare and just hop in another SUV and drive off…lol! 4 - Riley had to stay human to heal? In every other instance a shifter heals better and faster shifted…they were literally wondering why Jax didn’t shift to heal himself *eye roll* 5 - This book had me on google like can animals have appendicitis because two kids were discovered because on had appendicitis, but they’re both shifters? I thought shifters didn’t get human illnesses…lol! 6 - Lawd, help me…in chapter 16, did they just have a shootout at the house and when the officer and EMTs show up, Riley takes Jax upstairs and they get busy…
It was all just too much. It’s like she forgets concepts or where she is in the story and just throws some stuff in. Another disorganized mess, but what can I say I’m on to book three…smh!
John Solo gave another wonderful performance of a fantastic story by Victoria Sue. I read this book a little over two years ago but forgot to leave a review here. Listening to the audiobook brought back memories of all the reasons why I loved this book when I read it. Listening to the story added a whole new dimension to it for me.
I love the idea of a foster home for shifter kids and I loved all of the different pairings of the couples, e.g., a bear with a wolf for his fated mate. This story introduced me to a special type of wolf shifter called a Luna wolf. I haven’t read any other shifter books with this special character. Jax will never shift but instead has many special gifts. Unfortunately, a nasty alpha wants Jax for his special gifts and won’t give up until he’s captured him.
When Riley, a bear shifter, finds Jax injured he is able to heal him and recognizes right away that Jax is his mate. Jax is so skittish that Riley knows he needs to take things slow with him.
I loved everything about this story and hope that there will be more books coming in this series.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
This is a wonderful second book in the Hunters Creek series. The characters are vibrant & full of life. My old friends welcomed me back with open arms. This book is action-packed. There are secrets, a new type of wolf, fated mates, adorable children, danger, and loyal friends & family. Reilly and Jax are made for each other. Reilly's healing abilities are needed to treat the wolf who has been mistreated. Little does he know Jax is a rare Luna wolf, as well as being his mate. Jax has been kidnapped, held against his will for five years. Now, he has found his true mate. Too bad he's hiding a big secret. But their love is strong enough to overcome another kidnapping and a dramatic rescue, aided by a uniquely talented little girl. HEA is assured. You are going to love this book! As this is a continuing series, please read the first book. You will be glad you did. This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex, and is intended for mature readers only.
This series is a little confusing. By that I mean it can be a little hard to follow. Somewhat chaotic, jumping from one scene to another randomly with multiple characters who can be hard to place. I love the main characters and children's shelter storyline but prefer my shifter books to have shifter battles not resemble a scene out of SWAT with guns blazing. What's the point of the brothers being bear and tiger shifters when they keep getting bested by wolves with guns?? Also there is very little descript of their animal forms, all focus is on their senses. It's like their animal power itself is pointless. Bad guy ending by bullets is a disappointment/copout. They should be shredded by the wronged angry mates. It's also irritating that the FBI are unable to follow x4 SUV's that left the scene a minute in front of them after a kidnap? Surely a chase would ensue as opposed to thinking time and sandwiches! I do like the characters though so will probably download book 3 when it's available and hope it isn't as irritating as this one.
Initially the Second book in The Hunter's Creek series seemed very similar to the First. But that initial impression was quite misleading. New characters were introduced. Returning characters from the first book took on some new roles.
Keeping secrets especially from a mate and friends is never a good idea. Why would he do that? What does it mean when you are identified as a Luna wolf? Where did they come from? What special powers do they possess?
This second book is action-packed, full of drama, secrets, and lies. Some of these people (villains) are downright ruthless. There is violence, mayhem, mating, and love. I liked the children and teens that were introduced in this book, as well as the friendship between the Luna and male Omega Wolves.
After reading Hunter's Shadow, I still can't figure out where the title comes from. That's just one of the points of confusion I have with the story. Overall, it is well written and has plenty of drama, and the characters are well developed, but there are places where the action becomes confusing or disconnected, especially in the final chapters and epilogue. Also, the epilogue appears to set up the next book in the series, but creates an unnecessary cliffhanger, which I don't like.
What are the odds it turns out to be Riley’s fated mate?! Jax has to many secrets and a very important reason to remain obedient to his tyrant of an alpha… can he be rescued by Riley after he is retrieved against his true will? Can they figure out the hold that this horrible alpha has over him… a HEA awaits them if they can survive long enough to reach out for it! Victoria Sue has her hooks in my mind now… I can’t wait to start the next book in this series!!
I don't believe this author knows how to write. I've read shifter books for the last two years and all of them have some things in common especially when the mates are fully mated. There is too much wrong with this book and how it's written. The question is do I want to spend more time on poorly written books by this author? The answer my fellow readers is...NO!
Jax has been through a rough few years. Kidnapped and kept at a secret facility that an evil alpha births alpha Cubs, he is freed only to go to Hunter’s Creek to scout more alpha Cubs. Riley is hunter’s creeks healer and Jax”s mate. They have a lot of trauma to deal with as well as the Alpha who thinks he owns Jax.
Victoria Sue has created a world that is not only full of action but love as well. A wonderful story I’m glad to have read. Highly Recommended
I do like this world and that in this book we were able to catch up with other characters we meet in the first installment of the family from Hunter's Creek. Jax and Riley's story was cute and I enjoyed ever second, the only thing I would have changed was that Jax should have told Riley his secret long before he did. Hopefully there will be more books in set in this world in the future.
This world is harsh for shifters trying to live hidden from most of the human population. Jax has had an especially harsh life never remembering his parents and subjugated to abuse as a child. Riley has found his mate but can he win his trust and love?
The drama in this installment if very intense. You can tell that Jax is hiding something but you can tell that he isn't the bad guy. I love the surprising connection that join him and Rylie as well. There are so many layers to this story and I don't want to give anything away. Just know that this story will keep you on the edge of your seat. I listened to the audio version and it was well done.
It was good to get to back into this series. This Riley, bear shifter and Jax, a wolf who can't shift. Turns out Jax is also a Luna and has the ability to determine gender of a baby and if it's an alpha or omega. There were a few times I might have rolled my eyes, but seriously, shifters having babies is amazing!
This is book two of the : Hunter's Creek M.M Shifter Romance series
This was a good read I liked this couple despite all of the complicated drama plus I really would like to have a story about Daniel and the two young men that we meet at the end of this book .
Second book was even better than the first and I truly hope there is going to be a third. Need to know what is going to happen with Daniel and the twins. Loved the storyline and the characters, kept my attention throughout the book. Recommend both books.
What a really great addition to the Hunter’s Creek series! All kinds of excitement make this a great story to escape real life. I’m keeping my finger’s crossed in the hope of a book 3!
Great book I love Riley & Jax - there is lots of action and arguing alphas that keep everyone busy!!! Lots of adorable babies & mode to come so I hope that MS Sue is writing more for this series - thank you
Well written story and well developed characters. You should read this series in the correct order because of the story line. There's a lot of people and places that cross over. Emotional, engrossing, exciting, thrilling, and more!! This book is fantastic!!
Just simply a sensational captivating storyline with truly amazing characters. I just love the drama, angst, emotional moments and the brilliant found family. Highly recommend
