Each is a title that has been thrust upon me, but there’s another I’ll willingly claim for myself: Malakai’s executioner.
He thought he could break me…twist me into his obedient pet–but all he has done is add to the list of reasons why I’ll find him and then kill him.
Of course, it isn’t that simple, and I have made many promises that I have to uphold.
To bring as many of our soldiers home to their families as possible.
To free the citizens of Malakai’s empire of his oppression.
To unite two empires under the mantles of freedom and equality.
Will my ruthless love be enough to end this for good, all while staying true to those promises?
It has to be.

This book pulled me in, swept me away, and left me choking back the tears for so much of it. Keep the tissues handy. There’s a really good chance you’re going to want them before the end. It’s filled with swashbuckling daring and big emotions as Kyella and her people cross the Cursed Divide to destroy the threat of Malakai and free the Thaician people. This was the perfect ending to the series. It cut me in ways I can’t even begin to describe, but it was the exact conclusion the story needed. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Last books in series are always a little bittersweet. It's amazing to see the characters in a much better place then they've been the entire series (at least, that's the case for most of those last books), but it also means saying goodbye to the world and its characters. And I really loved this world, all the politics and the mythology. It's a good thing that I got an arc for this last book, else I might have waited a few months, or years, to finally finish the series!
In a way this last book is of course a little predictable. We've gotten a lot of information in the first two books, we know the goal our characters have set, we also know that this is a romance and that one way or another this will get a happily ever after. So, a lot of what happens I saw coming from miles away, but the authors still managed to hide a few really nice and amazing surprises. I don't want to give too much away, but when things seem easy it's because you don't know everything.
Since the goal of this book was clear and since all our characters did a lot of growing and learning in the previous books it felt like our characters had the wind in the back during this book. Of course, there were some dangerous moments and especially the final battle is really intense, hard and eventually won by intelligence and sacrifice, but where in the previous books things might just go wrong, they just went right in this book.
However, I did like how well thought out everything after the finale was. Authors often forget that winning the battle is one thing, but that there is more than just winning a battle to change the customs and daily life in a Kingdom. I like how these authors clearly know that. Apart from showing us the fighting and the war itself, we also see the aftermath and the struggles our characters still face then and the choices people have to make.
If the authors would ever want to return to this world, I'm happy to return with them!
I couldn’t wait to jump back into Kyellas story in book 3. Kyella now has 3 titles that were thrown onto her Thrall, Dhamphyr and now Empress but the 4th is the she wants the most Malakais Executioner. Everything that has been done to Kyella has only made her stronger and she is determined to find her tormenter and end him and his reign for good. But it is never as simple as that the stipples she faces trying to keep her promises and also unite the two kingdoms will be a major task in its self. Dam there is so much more I want to say about this book and all the things standing in Kyellas way and she goes about it all but don’t want to spoil anything. Kyella learns a lot about herself and what happened with her family but thru the journey she because stronger. Ohh and I love how far into Kyellas and the guys future this book jumps in the epilogue, even better the authors threw in a chapter for Rina. Guys you done amazing again loved this series from start to finish
Ruthless Love is the third book in the Vampyres’ Source series by R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair and I am absolutely in love with this final epic conclusion!!!
This final story picks up right where the last one left us with our fabulous crew of characters, Kyella, Elijah, Kolvar and Dakath, prepare for the fight of their life and with Ky stepping up as the Empress. With war on the horizon, and so much to lose, Ky and her men are ruthless in their dedication to come out as the victors and take Malakai down.
I absolutely loved how the characters evolved and came together as well as how well this story wrapped up and how we finally got answers to questions we were dying to know and how everything came full circle. If you love a heroine that’s fierce, strong and as badass as they come and hot as hell and uber possessive Vampyre Lords that will do whatever it takes to bring happiness to their gal then this is the one for you!!!
Kyella is here to lead her mates and her people to victory with the war she faces. With so much happening, will she be able to be the person everyone claims her to be, or will it be too much for her in the end?
It was very hard to write the synopsis that doesn't give away the plot of the book. This is the conclusion to Kyella's story and it wrapped up the series quite well. We have all of our issues and questions resolved and aren't left wondering what happened with some situations. I loved that the author's took some time to showcase the aftermath of war, rather than skimming over it and going straight into the good times.
The book was predictable and didn't give you any real twists. You knew what the plot was based on book two and the little synopsis provided. The motives for everyone were clear, and there were no detours in the path these characters were taking.
Loved the ending of this series! Kyella is truly a kind hearted awesome empress. After all the heart ache and loss through the war, she finally one and got a great hea. I’ll definitely miss reading about her and her mates and all the steamy scenes. Definitely a great read!
The final book in the Vampyres’ Source series was the epic finale that this series deserved. Kyella and her men ready for battle while still building their relationships. Kyella learns details regarding her past that hurt her deeply. She grows into her roll as Empress through the book. The story was well written and the characters were multi dimensional. I love the entire trilogy.
I absolutely loved this trilogy & that was such a great ending to this amazing series that had me hooked since book one lol.. oh my gosh.. you fall in love with all these amazing characters.. & how they grow in each book.. This book will have your emotions all over the place.. So I suggest you grab your box of tissues lol.. 😅
I definitely recommend this Trilogy!! Sooo soooo good!!♥️💛🖤
"Never again would any empire know such a ruthless rule, only a ruthless love."
The final book for Kyella and her men, Elijah, Kolvar and Dakath was fantastic! This book takes off right where book two ended. Sails are set for the Thaician Empire.
While the entire army is on edge with nerves for what they face ahead, they never expected to have a small detour in the middle of the Cursed Divide. Kyella was able to show true grit and strength to her soldiers that she is 100% willing to help carry this empire on, even if personally facing monsters alone. When they finally arrived in Thaician, the strategizing and planning felt like I was watching a movie. Kyella really shined with her true colors in this book, and I absolutely loved it!
Then the moment comes we have all been waiting for.... The Final showdown! ...Only it was pretty anticlimactic, INSTEAD, the real showdown is with someone we only find out about IN THIS BOOK!!!! (duh duh duhhhhhh) The twists and turns were nerve racking and when we are finally at the end of the nightmare Kyella has endured, the authors left us with a fairytale ending!!! Including allll the steam!!! ;)
"The dawn of a new era was upon us, and I would be d@mned if I didn't look fate in the eyes and tell her to give me whatever she had. I wouldn't back down."
The conclusion of this story was great! Coming full circle, the authors did a fantastic job. I loved the derail they endured during their trip across seas, and even though the showdown was not what I was expecting at all, the authors came through with an epic surprise we didn't see coming! The final epilogues are everything and now I am most definitely wanting a Novella or something with Landen!!!!
Long Live the Tridian Empire

It was amazing. Caulder and Sinclair did an awesome job finishing up Kyella's story. There were a lot of unexpected surprises and so many emotional moments and I enjoyed every single second of it.
Kyella was already a strong character for enduring so much but still keeping her beautiful heart but in Love we see her becoming the Empress she was meant to be. Kyella put to use her skills as a strategic thinker and a warrior and while to has to face the bad and make the hard decisions she still manages to keep her big heart and stay true to who she is.
It helps that Elijah, Dakath, and Kolvar are by her side, supporting her, by being there Kyella emotionally, and physically, as friends, lovers, and advisers. This is war and while the guys fear for Kyella's safety, they refuse to hold her back. They are the best men and are completely in love with Kyella and she returns the feeling. Yes, there are steamy scenes but there were plenty of emotional moments too. This little group has become a family.
What happened in this book? I mean, talk about being blindsided by a couple of plot twists, and it was one after another. I feel fairly confident that no one saw this coming. First, my jaw dropped and then I can admit I was yelling "what is happening ", out of all the ways the story could've gone... to quote Stew from the movie Scream 3, this is a trilogy, what you thought you knew, you really don't. The Kraken, the dhampyrs shocking past, the truth behind Barnabas, Kyella's truth, and the plot twist of mf plot twists. Dude, it was epic.
Ruthless Love totally took me by surprise. I knew it was gonna be good but I think it might be my favorite book in the series. I know these characters and was invested in their happiness so I was very happy when they got their HEA. The bonus epilogue put a smile on my face and has me wondering if another book might be planned involving these characters. I'm so there if it is.
Ruthless Love is the third and final book in R.L. Caulder’s and M. Sinclair’s The Vampyres’ Source series. The time for war has come. Even with the previous Empress’s passing, the time to strike is now. Plans have been laid in place, and it’s too late to go back on them. Kyella must do this and save those who need to be saved. Ruthless Love brings a lot of drama, danger, steaminess, and, of course, a HEA that takes you into the future days of these characters. It does a bit more than though with a hint at something more to come as well from these authors in the future. Ruthless Love is an engaging novel and overall well-written. There are some disappointing aspects of where the storyline stumbles though. One particular element that sticks out is when they are threatened by a creature they’ve met before. Kyella takes responsibility for the attack, when the fault actually lies with one of her men. Yet, he never takes accountability for something that he admits was his doing from what is essentially – laziness. It’s disappointing, and while to some might be viewed as a “minor” detail, it it something that stuck with me long after the initial incident. All in all, it’s a good ending to the series. I’m choosing to rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. Half a star is lost for the aforementioned reason above.
This holiday season I'm grateful for rapid releases, i don't think i could have handled waiting to see how this story ends! I'm a huge RL Caulder fan, but I'm even more of a fan when she collaborates with M Sinclair, their stories build a special kind of wild magic that captures the reader. On the page everything feels so real and like you're there experiencing it firsthand. The guys are sweet and loyal protectors, the perfect fit for Kyella who's experienced pain and cruelty for so long. They are the perfect match to help her finish what needs to be done, and support her along the way.
And what a way they traveled! The path of this war was thrilling from start to finish, but also made my heart ache along the way. They say you can tell a lot about someone by how they fight, and that's true here. Through this war against Malakai, Kyella shows so much heart and strength, it's impossible not to love her yourself.
Lastly I really have to compliment the story wrap up... i don't want to reveal too much, but somehow I both feel satisfied in how our heroes lives wrap up, and yet feel teased into wanting more from this world. And i hope with all my heart we do get more!
❝ “It makes us happy to take care of you, so just let us, darling. It doesn’t make you weak.” ❞
3.5 ✨
Kyella's story has finally come to an end. I did enjoy the ending to her story from thrall to Empress and the few moments we got with Elijah, Kolvar, and Dakath.
The plot is very fast paced, so I didn't go in expecting ridiculous levels of world building or depth, but there were points this one felt off. It was going so fast, all the details, personalities, and romance got lost. Which is a damn shame, because the potential was there.
I found the lore so damn interesting and I wanted to connect with the side characters so fucking bad, but it all felt a little rushed and flat. If this had been fleshed out just a bit more, I think it would have been phenomenal.
Ultimately I just personally wanted more from it than what I got.
The epilogues were intriguing but I really wished we got more from Kyella and her guys before setting up the potential for a next generation.
I'd still recommend this series if you are looking for a fast paced, fantasy-ish action adventure, with a bit of smut.
Epic ending 👑 My gosh be prepared for all the emotions in this final book of the trilogy! Even the most unlikely of the characters gets emotional in this one 🥺 This book picks up right at the decision to war and follows Kyella as she comes into her new role and aims to take out Malaki!! Her compassion, caring and loving nature really shines through in her need to save the people of her old home from the tyranny and oppression they face 😖 However it is not all plain sailing and there’s some minor and major difficulties they face, some of them have the power to really draw a tear to your eye 😢 and there’s some underlying twists that you don’t see coming 😬 But ultimately this story is one of hope and new beginnings which Kyella ensures 😁 she’s really grown as a character through this series 🥰 and so have her vampyres, they’re still massively protective and possessive of her but they all her to make her own decisions and be who she was meant to be!! The epilogue really prices a warning HEA that Kyella, her men and extended family deserve 😃
I think these four might be my new favorites from RL Caulder & M Sinclair. Kyella, Elijah, Kolvar and Dakath are up against so much in this final book. This book picks up right where the last book left off and we see Ky go through her emotions as she becomes Empress. Don’t forget that they’re all needing to prepare for war that is quickly coming. They all have so much to lose, and so much to gain if they can get this right. That’s the problem and the solution all in one.
The battle for peace was well fought throughout this entire book, there was non stop action. We also got answers to questions, everything coming full circle once and for all. We see them realizing that the right thing is rarely the easy thing. The one thing I love most with both of these authors (both in their separate works and co-author writes), is the character growth in the characters. They always make sure that the characters grow from the first book to the last.
I hope that we see other books from the Thaician and Tridian Empires, especially after the fun ending of this book 😉.
Ruthless Love is a great finale for The Vampyres' Source series. Kyella has come such an amazing distance in her strength and determination. It's pretty beautiful. She's willing to put everything on the line to protect her people, and to free the nation she came from. The battle scenes are well written and varied. There are a few surprises waiting for you in this book. These authors were so good at bringing all of the side characters to life, but I have mixed feelings about that because they also weren't afraid to end them. It's impressive how much they made me care about each person, even if it was in a short time. But that just made it more bittersweet to loose them.
The pacing of this book really worked for me, as a series finale. I really appreciated that the authors didn't just end with a big fight scene and then let us guess how the rest of the characters faired. They tied up all sorts of loose ends and showed us what the future looks like. It was highly satisfying.
The dawn of a new era was upon us, and I would be damned if I didn't look fate in the eye and tell her to give me whatever she had.
Ruthless Love is the ending of the "Vampyre's Source" trilogy, where every storyline comes together. I loved the fierceness in Kyella in this final book, the way she fully came into her own powers without losing her kind and sweet personality along the way. I really enjoyed the action scenes in this book, and how the suspense was built up towards them. I have to admit: not everything happened the way I thought it would...
The men in this series are some of the most protective and equally supportive mc's I've ever found in a series. They are there for their woman no matter what, and the spice in this final book is scorching hot. I'm not always a fan of the epilogue in series, but I have to say; this one was really good and definitely a great adition to the series.
Kyella's growth from the first book to this final book is insane. Her character arc is one of the best I've ever read because we saw a gradual, steady build up; it didn't just happen after a few pages. Her strength and confidence bloomed over the series. She's probably one of my all time favorite fmcs. I loved how not only her fellas grew to love her, but an entire kingdom. She faced every challenge with tenacity and allowed her actions to be based in love. For her guys, her people, and in a way, herself. As she was growing and adapting to her environment, she learned to be comfortable in who she was. Her dedication to make the world a better place for all of them won over everyone, and she led by example not by decree. This is a great series! And that epilogue left me desperately wanting the next story...
𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠 Ruthless Love is the final book in the Vampyres Source trilogy.
Kyella, Kolvar, Dakath and Elijah are on their way to war with the Thaician Empire to defeat Malakai once and for all!
This was a great book to the end of this series! It took me a little bit to get into it, but once the action started I was hooked and needed to know what happened!
Kyella and her guys have had great character development throughout the series, and you can tell they are the perfect fated mates 🥰
This book was definitely a bit more plot based sprinkled with spice, but damn the spice was still VERY GOOD 🔥
I loved the ending to this book and I loved seeing how everyone ended up in the epilogues as well!
As usual the queen's that are R.L Caulder & M. Sinclair do not disappoint! I have been looking forward to Kyella's 3rd and final book, and boy was it worth the wait!
This book follows Kyella and her men as they take the fight to Malakai to end the suffering of all those who live within his empire, and to bring peace to the lands!
We learn more about Ky's heritage and where she comes from in this book, and though it was bittersweet, I am so happy she finally knows what happened to her birth parents and family!
There are a few twists that I genuinely didn't see coming that kept me on the edge of my seat and I honestly struggled to put the book down! I adored the 2 epilogues, seeing how they are as a family unit & the little peak at Landon and Rina gives me hope there could be a revisit to this world at some point! 💜
Ruthless Love is the final installment in an epic paranormal reverse harem romance trilogy. This action packed finale picks up immediately after the gut-wrenching ending from book two. Kyella’s entire world has been turned upside down but she has her beloved trio of men right by her side. R.L Caulder and M. Sinclair poured so much into this series and readers will love Kyella’s conclusion.
There is non-stop action. Top tier steamy scenes. Heartache and tragedy. Beauty and sadness. This final installment was truly the perfect conclusion for these characters. I felt everything that Ky felt and my heart was racing during some scenes. I’m so glad Kyella, Elijah, Kolvar, and Dakath found their happily-ever-after which was much deserved!
This was a fantastic end to the series. I've loved watching the characters develop throughout the series, and this gives a fitting end to all their stories!
Kyella is a fantastic FMC, and I love how she has developed from the scared but stubborn thrall at the start to a warm and commanding warrior and leader. Her men have changed less, but she's also brought out the best in them as the relationships develop.
One secondary character I must give a shout out to is Tristian, again, his journey from Kyella's guard in book 1, to his ultimate fate has been fun to watch!
Normally, at the end of the series, I find myself wanting more in the universe, usually there's loose strands and other stories I want to see, but the ending of this ties everything up so perfectly, I'm happy with that!
Ruthless Love is the final book in The Vampyres' Source. It's a perfect ending to a brilliant trilogy of books. Kyella has grown so much over the series, starting as a thrall to the Emporer Malakai, to becoming a ruler for a land she'd never been to. Her people are her priority, and while she knows to get peace she must end the Emporer, she doesn't want to lose any innocents along the way and she keeps that as a goal even when the times are tough.
While we know what the outcome of the story needs to be, there is still the journey of Kyella and her men as they cross the Cursed Divide to fulfil their mission. The pacing of the story is perfect, and I love the fact we didn't just have a big battle and the story just ending. There was more added to the end which meant everything got tied up and there were no loose ends.
This is the final book for our wonderful Kyella and her men. First I enjoyed the book but this book had me all over the place in emotions. Of course we’re in war so there will be losses so that had me sad but of course there are those steamy moments and happy moments in there as well to pick you back up again. The ending though was just amazing and really brought my spirits back up and makes me feel like there is a possibility of another series comping from this book that I would be super excited to see. I obviously dont want to give anything away with more info but I would be excited to see that story and where it would go. For this book I’m sad to see it come to a close. It was a great story and the characters really grew and just became characters I really enjoyed reading. Im excited to see what the authors gives us next.
After everything that Kyella already went through and discovered about herself, now is the time to step up, put on the "big girl pants" and lead her "new" people as their empress to the battle for freedom and happiness. A dangerous quest that will test the courage of many, yet Kyella despite her insecurity and feeling the weight of the responsibility follows her heart and the thirst for justice after years of suffering. Kyella was searching her true self through the whole series, growing with each chapter and each challenge shaped her into the complex personality she was in the end. I also liked to watch her harem to shape, show the individualities and common traits of the men, as well as the political development and the sharp contrast between the two empires. And Barnabus remains my favorite still :)
This series was phenomenal. Each book not only got better but the character developments?? Amazing!! Myrin was my favourite, I absolutely loved and related to her story. Last book hit me hard, but this book definitely had my shedding a few tears over the emotions and development. This book hit me in a way that I wasn’t expecting. The utter strength in the characters was so inspiring but mind blowing as well. Seriously, I honestly am in shock at how good this story was. I’ve read nearly all of these two authors’s collabs and this one truly blew it out of the park.
And honestly…I can’t never review one of their books without mentioning how literally STUNNING the cover is. My collection is so freaking beautiful
Book 3 and the finale of the Vampyre’s Source series. Sailing to the Thaician kingdom to mete justice and free the people, Kyella sails the cursed divide to remove Emperor Malakai from the throne. The story continues with more history regarding dhampyrs and where Kyella comes from. The war is viscous with Malakai sacrifices vampyres and humans alike. It was a brutal story with lots of wolf build and color into the lands and the people. M.Sinclair and R.L. Caulder really rounded out the book and finished off the series with a bang. Really good read I’d yoh enjoh vampires, gods, and strong fmcs with tons of grit and determination. I thoroughly enjoyed finishing the series. Love that there may be opportunities to visit these characters in the future too *wink*
What a fantastic conclusion to not only Kyella’s story but the series as a whole. From touching moments with Rita, Barnabus, Tristan and so many more, this book sets the tone for a heartwarming conclusion. But Kyella and her men have to fight Kyella’s past and demons first. This book is full of suspense, steam, and sweet. Everything these two authors do have a perfect quality about them. I find that I don’t miss anything, everything Kyella goes through, Tristan’s constant reassuring presence, and even the epilogue, has everything I could’ve asked for an more in this series. I never hesitate to read anything from either of these authors, and this series was nothing different. A definite 5 star read for me.
