She prefers the four-legged wolves over the two-legged kind
Chelsea Youngblood’s first love is her only true love. Wolves. Raised on a wildlife rescue ranch, she grew up with wolves as her siblings. It was only natural she would become a wolf biologist and work with the wolves of Yellowstone National Park. When one of her pack is accused of killing a rancher, she makes it her mission to find the two-legged animal responsible.

Chelsea Youngblood is a wold biologist. She was raised on a rescue ranch and has been around them all her life. Ben Yates is retired from the military and starting a new life in The Brotherhood Protectors security group. He's looking forward to a bit more peace and quiet, fishing and hunting in his off time and less danger than his military service. But his first case is protecting Chelsea and hunting for a murderer. Guess it won't be a quiet life after all.
Saving Chelsea: Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone Book 2 is by Ella James. This book is set in West Yellowstone, Montana. A new branch of the Brotherhood Protectors is being set up in West Yellowstone and run by Stone. Stone has run a protection agency out of Afghanistan prior to the US withdrawal. His last mission was to get the final members of his team out before they were overrun by the enemy. Now they are here in West Yellowstone and have decided to join the Brotherhood. They are awaiting their first assignments. Benjamin “Bubba” Yates is one of those men. He left the army because his family was broken up by the infidelity of his wife while he was gone and he blamed the Army as part of the problem. Now he wants nothing to do with women or a relationship. Right now, he just wants to go fly fishing and forget everything. John Jacobs, the owner of the Grand Yellowstone Lodge where they are staying, reminds him to beware of wild animals in the area not just people. After a couple of quiet hours with just his pole, Bubba realizes how content he is here. Then he sees a woman on the other side of the river being chased by a large wolf. He can only hope he can get a good shot off from this side of the river to be able to help her. As he waits take his shot, the two come closer and the wolf is about to attack. Then the women sees him and stands in front of the wolf to keep Bubba from shooting him. It seems that Sive (the wolf) was brought up by her family.
Ben and Chelsea's introduction was suspenseful in itself. I liked their subsequent interactions because they seemed to have really great chemistry, yet it didn't feel like instalove. It felt more like that "getting to know you and very happy to do so" vibe.
After Chelsea gave Ben information regarding her job, I thought his willingness to support her was great. Especially with neither of them being aware of what was coming.
I enjoyed reading how their relationship was developing, and how it intertwined with the mystery, and investigation. I wish we could have gotten more information on about how the results of the investigation played with the ranchers. I also thought it would have been interesting to see more interaction between Chelsea and the wolves, or at least Siva.
This was a good read. There was mystery, suspense, and danger along with the romance. The icing on the cake was that it was not obvious who turned out to be the bad guy, at least not obvious to me. Ben and Chelsea also got an HEA neither was expecting.
I missed the first book in this series, Saving Kyla. I am going to have to go back and read it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This the perfect blend of mystery suspense and hot romance that is the hallmark of Elle's writing and it draws you in from almost the very first page Throw in the problems that have been caused between conservationists and ranchers by the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone and you have a story that not only entertains but has you thinking as well.
Ben is one of the team of former mercenaries that have recently joined Hanks Brotherhood Protectors and are forming the Yellowstone branch he is a little anti woman after been worked over by his former wife and having to restart all over again. He is looking forward to a pleasant day of fly fishing when he sees a woman been stalked by a large black wolf, soon he realises that all isn't as it seems but he is also instantly drawn to Chelsea. Chelsea has always had trouble forming relationships as no one can handle her love for wolves but soon these two are having to admit they have a deep attraction to one another But as things escalate between ranchers and the wolves' and the mystery around a local death deepens it will take all of the team to keep Chelsea safe and solve what is going on in their new home town.
What a fantastic addition to Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone. Chelsea is so brave and true. Her passion for her calling in protecting the wildlife is insurmountable. Watching her in action, not afraid of putting herself on the front line to protect those she loves is truly inspirational. Ben is a complex character. The pain from his past has changed the person he has become, yet his moral compass and need to protect and help others is most definitely still front and centre. Watching Ben and Chelsea work together with the help of his brothers-in-arms was inspiring, pure poetry in motion. I love that Elle James uses some situations that could probably be measured as true in reality, although she always ensures the good guys have the tools and knowledge to allow them to succeed. I loved watching these two characters overcome their past and reach for the goodness and love they deserve. Definitely recommend. Way more than 5 stars.
When Ben aka Bubba goes fly fishing he doesn’t expect to “rescue” a woman from a wolf attack and doesn’t expect to be totally wrong about the rescue. Chelsea is a wolf biologist and gets caught playing with one of her wolves, Siva, and stops Ben from shooting Siva convincing him that she is not under attack by the black wolf. As the two spend time together, they get caught up in an investigation with a dead body that may or may not have been caused by wolves. As their investigation moves forward, there is more to the small town of Yellowstone and Chelsea is caught in the middle of it. A great read with a bit of steam, suspense, twists and turns and great characters. I liked the no drama and clear communication between these two as well as the insta everything between them. A heart pounding ending with a great epilogue. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Saving Chelsea is an awesome romantic suspense by Elle James. Ms. James brings us back to the Yellowstone area. Chelsea grew up with wolves and is now a wolf biologist working with the wolves of Yellowstone National Park. Ben, former Navy SEAL is now joining the Brotherhood Protectors but is going to try some fishing before his work starts. Chelsea comes across her old playmate, a wolf that her family raised named Siva. Ben is ready to shoot the wolf attacking the woman across the river when Chelsea yells for him to not shoot. Ben and Chelsea's story is loaded with drama, humor, sexy bits, action and suspense. I loved this story and look forward to my next book by Elle James. Saving Chelsea is book 2 of the Brotherhood Protectors: Yellowstone Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.
I read a print copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
We are back with the newly formed Yellowstone Protectors. A branch from the original Brotherhood Protectors. This one is made up of former elite military men and later mercenaries who were rescued by Hank’s men. This story belongs to former Navy SEAL Ben/Bubba Yates. A new member and one who is looking to get away from the war and any thoughts of having a relationship after the betrayal he suffered. Chelsea Youngblood studies wolves and when one she knows well and her pack are thought to have killed a man, Chelsea is determined to prove them wrong. When Ben and Chelsea meet, even though neither wanted a relationship, the attraction is evident. But what happens when the danger intensifies ? The plot was engaging , filled with a whodunnit, danger, and of course romance. A good addition to the series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I laughed when Ben was trying to go fishing. Then he meets Chelsea and Elle knocked the introduction out of the park. Without evening knowing what this was about I wanted an arc. I mean who doesn't, come on, entertainment that packs all the punches and can be read, enjoyed, in a short amount of time. Then I found out Chelsea was a wolf biologist, or the new coined term, wolfologist and I hesitated. I am a wolf lover and do my part to help the organizations out there where I can. This book showed both sides flavored with romance, suspense, someone who went down the wrong path and wanted to go right, murder and even hit on a reservation. So much in this book can be read as pure entertainment, but if you look, you see so much more. Thank you for the arc, I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
Saving Chelsea is the next addition to the Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone series. The main characters are Ben “Bubba” Yates, Chelsea Youngblood and the wolves that live in the Yellowstone area. In fact, they met while Ben was fly fishing and Chelsea was playing with her pet wolf Siva. Ben thinks Chelsea is being chased by a wolf but in fact she is playing with him. He’s trying to protect her and she begs him not to kill the wolf. This begins their journey together. A man is found dead and everyone thinks the wolves killed him. They know they have to find the killer and make sure no one kills the wolves. This is a great addition to the series. This is a throughly entertaining and suspenseful read. Will keep you on the edge of your seat. I received this as an ARC and it’s my honest review with no compensation
I was hooked from the moment Ben met Chelsea. The chemistry between these two is something else. Trying to piece together the facts of the crime that involves Chelsea's beloved wolf pack was great to follow.
I would've liked to see more interaction between Chelsea, Ben and the rest of the Brotherhood as well as seeing more of the wolf pack or even more of Siva. I feel that the events could've taken place over more than 2 days, but that is just a minor issue on my side.
Nevertheless, it was still a great read from one of my favorite authors and I enjoyed it immensely.
I received a free copy of the steamy romance Saving Chelsea: Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone book 2 by Elle James and this review was given freely.
Enthralling, intense, and action-packed. This is a story of murder, a rancher with a wolf vendetta, a wolf biologist determined to protect the wolf she helped raise, drugs, and a once bitterly divorced former Navy SEAL embracing love.
New Yellowstone Brotherhood Protectors operative, Arkansas born former Navy Seal Benjamin “Bubba” Yates’ plans for a relaxing day of fly fishing in the Madison River near his friend Stone’s father’s Grand Yellowstone Lodge in West Yellowstone turn sinister when he finds wolf biologist and advocate Chelsea Youngblood running from a wolf.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat, desperately worried about the wolves. I had full faith in the Brotherhood Protectors, but the fate of the wolves worried me. And that’s the thing about Elle James’s books in general; you become invested. They’re more than a story, they’re an experience. This book (yes, it has the Yellowstone Brotherhood Protectors, and yes, Ben is awesome as is Chelsea) has so much food for thought in terms of the wolves, predation, what the happy medium is between farmers and conservationists that I actually meandered off to do more research when it was done. From the moment Ben meets Chelsea to the end, there’s tension, heat, suspense, and of course, the fate of the wolves. Seriously, make this a one-click.
Ben is out fishing trying to sort out his feelings about joining the Brotherhood Protectors when he sees a wolf on the verge of taking down a woman. As he is aiming to kill the wolf, Chelsea a wolf biologist, stands in the line of fire telling him not to shoot. It turns out that she raised her and now they are playing. She gets called out to identify what animal appears to killed a man. A wolf might attack livestock but rarely a human. The local ranchers are getting ready to send a posse after the wolf. Ben and Chelsea are working together to find out who really killed the man and why. Well written and another great read for this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Twisted and suspenseful read with great characters and some nail biting action. I loved the image of a wolf playing with a human in fun, even though it was now living wild and as an alpha pack female. This series shows that though wolves have a bad reputation they are needed to help balance nature and the ecco system, they mostly shy away from humans unless threatened or cornered, injured and desperate for food. The chemistry between Chelsea and Ben is fun and witty as well as flirty and no nonsense, they are honest and up front, no tricks or lies. She is independent and able to look after herself even when things get tricky but it's great to have a sidekick and protector on her side. Wonderful plot and a fairly fast pace. Excellent.
Saving Chelsea by Elle James is the second book in her Brotherhood Protectors Yellowstone series. I found this storyline to be quite fascinating. Introducing the two main characters, Chelsea Youngblood and Ben "Bubba" Yates, the way Ms. James did was, to me, a unique way for the main characters to meet. You get to see Chelsea's independence and Ben's protective nature right up front. From this first chapter meeting the story flowed well and was fast paced. Once again this author has treated her readers to an enjoyable read. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
Ben “Bubba” Yates is part of a new Brotherhood Protectors Team (Yellowstone). New to the area, he’s out fly fishing when he see a woman (Chelsea Youngblood) being chased by a wolf. Turns out she’s familiar with the wolf because it was raised in a sanctuary after its mother was killed. Chelsea is a wolf biologist, studying and protecting wolves in the area. Ben and Chelsea decide to go on a date but are sidetracked when a man is found dead out in the park and the authorities doesn’t know if the death was caused by a human or wolves. From the there the story gets real interesting and complicated. This is a very good addition to the series.
This book is a hit! If you enjoy romance suspense and murder mysteries, then you don't want to miss this one. The characters are great including Siva, a black female wolf. The main couple, Ben and Chelsea, meet out in the forest while Siva is playfully chasing Chelsea.
The rapport between Ben and Chelsea is entertaining to watch as you read through the book. As a reader, we experience intrigue, friendship, interest, trust, expectancy, action, adventure, pain, sorrow and happiness emotions, plus there is a touch of romance.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys military romance, murder mysteries and romance suspense.
Ben is trying out Yellowstone to see how it fits on him. He is trying fly fishing when a woman runs by being chased by a wolf. Chelsea is actually playing with the wolf. Ben is looking for his gun to save the woman. When she sees what he has in mind she stops and protects the wolf. Ben meets Chelsea a wolfologist. Next thing you know and man is killed, the ranchers are blaming the wolves blaming Chelsea. The cause of death hasn’t been established when the morgue blows up. Ben is now protecting Chelsea and helping her determine if the wolves are at fault.
Book two in the Brotherhood Protectors series. I enjoyed this book.
This was an awesome read and another rock-solid entry for this terrific series. Excitement, suspense and emotion are skillfully crafted together in this gripping read that had me deeply invested and feeling on the edge. The writing is excellent, and the story quickly captured my attention and held it firmly until that last page was turned. I really liked Chelsea and Benjamin. They had good chemistry and I felt that the attraction between them was obvious. I am independently posting an impartial review.
Chelsea is as dubbed by Ben a 'wolfologist'. Wolves are what she grew up around and now works with them at Yellowstone Park. Former Navy SEAL Ben is new to the crew of Yellowstone Protectors. While waiting for his first mission he stumbles upon Chelsea and her wolf. It seems he discovered his own mission after the wolf is blamed for a killing. Was it murder and could they find the truth before the wolf is shot? This story was full of suspense and action, heart stopping moments and some loving. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can't wait to see what's next for this group of heroes.
Suspense, drama, jaw dropping moments. And who is behind it all? I love Ben and Chelsea together. They have great chemistry from the beginning. The Wolfologist and the former Navy Seal turned Brotherhood Protector. They stand together to follow the clues to protect the wolves Chelsea loves so much and solve a mysterious murder in Yellowstone. Their relationship is fun, flirty and down right dangerous. “I voluntarily received this arc book for an honest review”
This was a great book. I have loved every one of the Brotherhood Protector books. I love the locations in these series. The descriptions of the Yellowstone area make you feel like you’re there too. There’s lots of action, chemistry, romance, empathy and suspense. I liked the way that Ben and Chelsea talked to each other and became friends in a hurry. I liked the way that Chelsea was passionate about the wolves, but she wasn’t a fanatic. I received this book for an honest review and I loved it. I recommend it to everyone.
Everybody thinks it is the wolves that are dangerous, Chelsea knows differently...but here she gets an up close demonstration that people are the worst predators there are. Ben is wary, he has been burnt once, so trust does not come easy when it comes to women but Chelsea blows through all his defenses from their first meeting, she is honest and true, passionate and dedicated, fresh and real......and her best friend is a huge black wolf! How can Ben possibly resist her!
Wow, the protective instincts of these Brotherhood Protectors! This newest division of the Brotherhood Protectors is set in the Yellowstone area. While out fishing Ben meets Chelsea when he sees her being chased by a large wolf, intrigued he wants to know more about this wolf biologist. There is plenty of suspense and romance to keep you engaged and involved with the story. I enjoyed getting to know Ben and Chelsea as they work to solve a murder being blamed on the wolf pack she has been studying.
Another great story by Ms James. I don't think I have ever read a book by her that I didn't enjoy. Chelsea is a wolf biologist. Wolves were reintroduced in Yellow Stone and she is there to study them. She meets Ben who is new to the Brotherhood Protectors. When a human is killed by what appears to be wolves, the ranchers want to kill all of the wolves. Chelsea is determined to find out what happened and save the wolves and Ben is determined to keep her safe. What happened? I read an arc of this book and this is my review
A nice short story. Ben is awaiting his first assignment with the Brotherhood Yellowstone Protectors. In order to pass the time he has gone fishing along the river. Little did he know that he would have an adventure that day. An adventure that would have him questioning his thoughts in his head that he swore to live by. He meets a redheaded "wolfoligist".
Chelsea meets a hot hunk of a man while protecting the black wolf.
These two will confront danger and the worst of all their feelings.
Ben and Chelsea. A wolfolagist sounds like Ana amazing job! Haha the scenes were sweet when describing being raised with wolves and Silva sounds like a beautiful and majestic example of a wolf. The danger was more towards the wolves than Chelsea, but that ended up putting her in a life and death situation. Ben has some baggage in form if an ex wife, but once the two meet they can’t stop moving closer to each other. The rest of the team and town are mentioned, but the majority of the story is this couple working together and finding new leads and answers.
