After a high school party gone terribly wrong, Dante Gilchrist left the town that never fully accepted him or his family, or forgave them for their mistakes. He never intended to return and confront the dark memories of his past, but when he reluctantly agrees to his father’s request to restore their family home, he finds himself faced with mistrust, hostility, and the woman who fueled the twisted obsessions of his youth.
June Hayward isn’t always proud of the choices she makes. She drinks too much most weekends, she’s had too many ill-advised hookups, and her secret dreams of a happy, stable relationship seem continually out of reach. When a surprising encounter with Dante Gilchrist sparks an intense and shocking connection, she can’t ignore her growing feelings for the man who used to watch her from afar, and who seems to be hiding something.
Soon, deadly occurrences put the town on edge and suspicions run higher than ever. June and Dante grow closer, but even their relationship has a breaking point, and it won’t be long until the secrets of the past return to claim them both.
I'm done writing the book and have moved into some heavy editing. I'm pretty happy with what I've got! BAD DECISIONS is sexy and sometimes sweet but also murdery, with plenty of drama. My heroine is a little wild with a bit of a temper and some baggage, but she's also loyal and kind. My hero is calm and collected on the outside but a bit anxious inside, with a secret obsessive side.
CUE THE FIREWORKS.
I want to have this out in October, preferably in the first half of the month. Stay tuned!

HI I'M WRITING A ROMANTIC SUSPENSE
Dark √ Smutty √ Toxic small town √ Traumatic pasts √ Angst √
Overall a well rounded romantic suspense story! Definitely worth the read, especially around this time of year. I was looking for something that wasn’t another werewolf or vampire novel to help my craving to read something spooky for Halloween! This fit the bill really well. Highly recommend! The author did a great job of building suspense and creating a spooky atmosphere for the Gilchrist house.
Loved the small town setting here and the sensitive, obsessive Dante. And while murder mysteries aren't really my thing, there's enough drama and sexy times (hawt ones) to keep me more than occupied.
No one does sex scenes like Heather--they're so intense, realistic, dark, and tender. I love how she infuses them with raw emotion; they're not just there for us pervs (and she never disappoints lol), but always serve to push the characters forward and deepen their development and connection to one another.
While I didn't I like this one *quite* as much as Lament or A Pale Shadow, which are fucking amazing, this one is still a great read.
There better be another book on the way, Heather. Just sayin'.
Bad Decisions has been such a blast from the beginning. Thrilling, well-written and emotionally tense. Unfortunately, "emotionally tense" really doesn't feel good for me right now. I felt very tense reading yesterday evening and also this morning. So I made the difficult decision to put all the tense reads into hibernation for now.
