For eighteen years Clare Briggs has worked hard to get into the best college. It has always been her parents’ dream. But what's her dream?
Clare is a freshman at her dream college. She has a love for animals and dreamed of the day she would become a veterinarian. Her parents were strict growing up, never really letting her have many freedoms, so she should be happy now? Right?
But she has this feeling deep inside. She thought she was home sick, but this is more than that. It’s not home that she is missing.
Jett Lovell and Mekhi Edwards.
She has dreams of the two boys she barley remembers from high school. Yet, these dreams leave her hot and bothered, needing a cold shower every morning.
That is until she meets Frankie Nameer. He came out of nowhere like a knight in shining armor… well he wasn’t wearing armor. In fact he wasnt wearing anything at all. She finds a deep connection with him, a shared interested in caring for animals. But he never talks about his past or family. What is he hiding from her?
Summer break has her returning home… and questioning if the reoccurring dreams were real? No one could dream these things, but how could she forget them too? Only reliving them every night as she closes her eyes.
She is drawn to Kiba, a place she remembers clearly, yet she has never been before. She knows she must go there, they're waiting for her. She can feel it deep inside, an urge to find them.
Then she sees them waiting for her. Did they have the same dreams? Did they know that she would come?
Belle has an addiction to reading, notebooks, coloured pens and mint chocolate. She lives in the beautiful Australian bush, surrounded by wildlife and the smell of eucalyptus trees. She also has a strong love for all 60’s music, believes she was born in the wrong era and should have been at Woodstock. This time I gave it four stars not because of the grammar, and there were some issues throughout the book, but because the timeline skipped too far ahead. It's like we missed a whole other story instead of giving that chapter, they just jumped it completely. It was a good story. Sad. But a good story.
A nice installment into the Kiba pack world. This one just missed the mark a bit for me. Clare had her memories wiped by a vampire so that she would go chase her dream of becoming a vet leaving Jett and Mekhi behind. The conflicts between Clare and her parents (which were apparently long standing), Frankie and the Reapers, Frankie and his Mom, and Clare and Jett/Mekhi were resolved without a lot of angst. I thought it could be more interesting to have one of those things influence the plot more. The writing style felt slightly off in this one with some of the sentence structure feeling a bit too simplistic. Not enough to deter me from reading other books from Harper in this world.
I do think this was really good but I feel like there are also a few problems I had with this book. First before buying the book I wanted to know if it was a series or standalone book. It says it's a standalone book but with the cliff hanger of Vikis sister being taken I'm seeing that it might not be as standalone as I was told. I know that there is a series that this book is interconnected with but even the author said it was a standalone but if it's interconnected to a main series it doesn't feel like a standalone. My second issue is that I didn't feel satisfied. It felt like there was no big climax. It felt like the plot rose a little bit and went back down. And the ending felt rushed with the major time skips. Again this brings me back to my first point. If it was a series I would understand this book being about side characters and learning more of the characters past from the main series. We didn't get to see Frankie interact with the other 2 guys at all before the big move in nor the big baby revel with a good 9 month jump skip. I think I rated this high mainly cause Frankie was such a cutie with Clare and I was rooting for them.

I flaming love all of these books that focus on the characters in and around the Kiba Pack. Weve met Jett, Mekhi and Clare briefly as theyve popped up in books previously but in this one we get to find out what happened between all of them.
Clare's story starts out as not a really a happy one. Memory loss and plagued by dreams of wolves as well as a family that she doesnt get on with that left her pretty much a loner apart from her roommate at Uni. When she meets Panther Shifter - Frankie and her life turns around. Only he doesnt have a great family life that revolves around drugs but hes genuinely sweet and caring. I really liked him. Theres a heartwarming sweetness in this book that focuses on family and who you let into your life at the heart that i really loved. I love revisiting Pack Kira! This is Clare’s story and it’s not an easy one to begin with. She dreams of two wolves her men in her dreams but think she’s going crazy. One day while outside alone at night two guys (vampires) just kinda scar her when a hot naked guy gets them to leave. The have an immediate connection. Frankie is a panther shifter whose mom is an addict, he’s been the one taking care of and protecting his younger brother for years. He was selling drugs but really didn’t want to. Clare takes him back home to her uncaring parents anniversary party. She keeps having episodes of the two guys she grew up with but doesn’t understand why. Until it comes out her memories for the past two years we’re taken away. This starts a chain of events. Revisiting familiar characters from this series was so fun. This book was good, filling us all in on this special group. Made me smile.
I have been excitedly waiting for this book by Bella to come out! I LOVE her books with Lexi and Ada, and this was no different! I LOVE the ending! I love getting to know Frankie, and how things end up for him and Alex. The fact there's different backgrounds for people, and such a huge affection from chosen families vs blood families... my heart is just swelling with happiness!
Love your stuff, Bella, and I cannot wait for the next story!! <3
Shadow Wolf is connected to the series New Moon by author Belle Harper. So this one helps you understand why Jett & Mekhi are the way they are. And maybe it helps you understand their relationship with Clare. So this is basically Clare’s story - you’ll meet her parents - don’t let me start. You’ll also meet her college roommate and some other interesting individuals. One particular- Frankie. Also a new vamp- which might just lead to another book- fingers crossed. All in all this one is about understanding and forgiveness. Oh this one is spicy too. Enjoy!!
This book was amazing. So much emotional angst and awesomeness. I loved Claire and am glad I finally.got Jeff and Me knife story. Vicki is the perfect bff. And Frankie and Alex Roy d out the best family ever. Their family will probably always fight like cats and dogs but they'll still always have each other. Another amazing story by Bell Harper. This whole world is just the best! I need more!!!
FINALLY! I have been waiting for this book for forever! After Twice Bitten I couldn’t wait for Clare’s story! I couldn’t even read Ada’s series because I was too fixated on Clare’s story and it did NOT disappoint! I love this entire community and I am beyond excited to read the rest of the characters and spoiler: I cannot wait for Jade!!! I’m in love!
I have been waiting so long for this book, and it was worth it. It did feel like the last 10 chapters or so were rushed. I loved the story and I love the world that has been created around Pack Kiba. I look forward to reading the next book.
Love this book. Definitely worth the read. Slightly disappointed in the ending though I'm not sure why specifically. Just didn't feel complete. Other then that it's worth the read. Draws you in to the story.
As always an amazing story by Belle Harper. I hate that this group of characters are coming to an end. I will miss this story line, but I’m also looking forward to what she comes up with next.
After reading two previous theologies where Clare was mentioned and appeared, it was lovely to have a story based on her, Jett, Makai and Frankie. It was a lovely story, though ended in a cliffhanger regarding witch Vicky, so hope there is more to follow.
I love endings like this, I couldn’t keep the smile off my face no matter how hard I tried.. I fell in love with Jett and Mekhi in the other series they both appeared in and I wanted them to be happy, because they deserved it and now they are…
Never disappointed but left wanting more. Try it for yourself you will not be disappointed. Make sure to start from the beginning, not to miss all the adventures.
I LOVED Shadow Wolf so much! Claire and her mates are my favorite couple in this world now.
Frankie is just swoon worthy and how he loves and protects Claire makes me just wish he was real. Jett and Mekhi have a lot to make up for after everyone finds out that they wiped Claires memoires thinking it was better for her. When in reality she was miserable away at school and didn’t know why she kept feeling like she was missing something or someone?!
Both guys realize how they messed up and reach out to Frankie so he knew that he is welcomed in their pack. I liked how they all came together for Claire.
I literally want more Claire and her mates so bad and I wish there was an extended Epilogue!
Cough..Cough.. Please Belle can we have more!
❤MMF and MF (Frankie doesn't share) ❤Second Chance ❤Steamy 🌶🌶🌶🌶 ❤Panthers and Werewolves ❤HEA
I enjoy this book and enjoy FMC. The MMC's I loved their development through the book. I do wish the book went longer, I felt it wrapped up too quickly and wanted more. ❤️❤️👑❤️❤️
I gave it a 3 star, I thought it was kinda slow for most of the book, but great ending, and enjoyed Lexi and Ada, will you be writing about and others??
That was a bold way to end a standalone novel. She must be writing more for the pack Kiba series. I enjoyed getting to see the Jett/Mekhi relationship, but I wish there has been even more of them.
