Dared by My Roommate

Rate this book

He’s the last guy on Earth I’d expect to live with.

But we’re both desperate for a roommate–so how bad could it be?

At first glance, my new roommate and I have nothing in common. I’m shy; he’s cocky. I’m careful; he’s daring. I’ve never left this city and he just got back from the Sahara.

But we have one crucial thing in common: we both need a roommate fast, or we’re screwed.

So he’s a blessing. A tall, broad-shouldered, maddening blessing.

I can make this work. I can handle his teasing and hot glances. And I can grit my teeth and pretend I’m not crushing like crazy.

He’s only here for the room. I need to remember that. As for the rest… he must be toying with me.

Unpack your bags and get ready to fall in love with these gorgeous men as they find their happily ever after.

This summer some of your favorite authors have come together to bring you a new series all about falling in love with your roommate. As the temperatures rise outside, things are getting even steamier in the close quarters of their apartments.

sweet n spicy

Another winner from an author who has become an immediate one-click for me. A short, tasty little morsel of romance yumminess! Perfect for when you want a bite of romance but you have a busy day and you don’t have 6 hours to devote to one book.

Totally safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned at all, but doesn’t come off as if he’s a manwhore. Heroine is a virgin and gives the hero the gift of claiming all her firsts. No others, no cheating or abuse whatsoever. HEA with epilogue 2 years out and h prego

3.5 stars rounded up

It was incredibly sweet and I liked it a lot.

For an instalove novelette, I gotta admit that it was done really well.

Because we did have this insta connection but there was no insta fucking as it usually happens in stories this length.
So yeah, I liked it.

True, the build-up could've been a tad better, hence the missing star, but I'm not gonna complain.
Plus, it's Cassie Mint and I love her writing.

Also, the HEA was cute as hell. :)

There’s something about this authors books where her characters are like a breath of fresh air. The Man is always overly sweet to the heroine, sometimes a little too sweet. Reading dark romances have tainted me!

-Virgin h
-Shy/ quiet h
-Age difference(23h/30H)
-Sweet Hero/h

The ending wasn’t as fulfilling, 2 year epilogue, HFN ending, no kids

2 stars, 1.25 spice.

This is a rare complete miss from Cassie Mint for me.

I know what Cassie Mint's MO is and I love her for it; you know going into her books you're going to get:

1. A quick story
2. A unique and/or interesting premise and meet-cute
3. Spice with at least a little kink
4. Insta-lust/insta-love
5. HEA epilogue married with kids (*not always, but usually lol*)

And when you're in the mood and the tropes hit just right, now THAT'S some fun literature.

But even a wackily great premise and some spice can't fix a problem where there's just absolutely no substance to the story. The two main characters had no personalities aside from their 'quirks', which conveniently come and go for the plot and romance sake. I didn't feel a single shred of chemistry between the characters, sexual, romantic, or otherwise, which made the hasty timeline of their relationship feel so shoe-horned and fake.

There is MUCH MUCH MUCH better Cassie Mint out there, so unless you're like me and made it your mission to read her entire backlog, I think you can safely skip this one.

This had to be one of my favorites so far by CM- it was sweet and awkward in a way that didn't need to rely too heavily on being OTT to still be enjoyable. I really liked it.

Lincoln is a photographer and always on the road... He needs a place to crash and just finds his room and HEA too 😉 They both fall hard and fast for each other but are so sweet and dorky about it🤣🤣 Instalove, sweet, steamy ,romantic and safe with a sweet HEA and absolutely drama free😍😍😍😍

Jenny has issues, she is not brave, she mainly stays home and works from home. She likes things quiet and peaceful. But when her roommate leaves, taking everything including the microwave and doesn't pay any rent what is a girl to do. Find another roommate. And that happens to be Lincoln. Lincoln will only be there for a short time though since he is a photographer and is there taking a photo series of the city for a private customer. Jenny decides that after meeting Lincoln he can teach her to be brave. So he does. This is one of the best short steamy romances I have read. I loved the characters especially Jenny, learning to be brave, to leave her comfort zone no matter how difficult. And Lincoln doing everything he can to help her. It's so well written, perfect amount of steam and a great read. Loved it.

I have found my new favorite author! Her books are short, sweet, with a hint of spice. Jenny and Leonard came together as roommates. What happened next neither one was prepared. Mint writes real stories for real people. Her characters make you want to sit down and chat with them about the complexities of life. They have believable struggles and realistic gains. I am binge reading her books.

Jenny Works sewing clothes, She is shy, sweet, kind, does not like to be around anyone, does not leave the house much and gets anxiety, when she gets a new roommate she starts to really like him but she does not think a guy like Lincoln would go for someone like her which was sad that she thought that, Her and Lincoln has amazing banter which was awesome to read, She falls hard for Lincoln

I absolutely love everything this author writes!
Opposites definitely attract in this roommate romance.
Jenny is a homebody. She has issues going out and dealing with new people and new situations. Her home is her safe space...or at least it's suppose to be until her roommate steals from her and then leaves her in a tough spot. Now Jenny is once again pushed outside her comfort zone and forced to put out an ad for a roommate.
Lincoln is an adventurer. As a photographer he's tasked with traveling wherever his clients deem necessary. But now he needs a temporary place to lay his head down while completing his new assignment.
Neither could guess the feelings they would stir in each other. Jenny is all about stability and order. Lincoln is spontaneous and adventurous. They shouldn't work, but Lincoln makes Jenny want to try and push outside of her comfort zone and see the world through Lincoln's eyes...or maybe lens ;)

If I had one complaint, the author mentions that Jenny has always been kind of the awkward one in her family. However, it's never mentioned why Jenny is so distrusting of people or why she isolates herself away purposely from people. Did something happen in her past to make her this way?.

I love a good Roommate romance and this series has hit the spot and when I saw that this author was going to be apart of it I knew I just had to read it! This author is amazing at writing such relatable and realistic heroines and heroes always giving us some kind of quirk, or relatable issue such as being introverted, having physical or mental scars and even sometimes mental health issues and every time this author tackles them almost expertly and I think that is why her books, including this one, draw you in. I really found the female character charming, adorable and lovable and the male was patient, supportive and almost careful with her but also knowing at times that she needed him to be the brave one and help her draw her inner side out. I really enjoyed the storyline and how you knew straight away that they were going to be perfect for one another, even they were so very different from each other. The way that their relationship developed, with her wanting to try new things and him wanting her and also wanting to be the one to show and teach her. When they finally admit their feelings I think might have been my favourite part as it was done so well and you couldn't help but feel your heart clench. The ending or epilogue was great I loved seeing where they go and also getting to see how they grew as people and in their relationship.

Sweet and funny story of opposites attract.

Jenny arrives home to discover that her roommate has left and stolen everything in the apartment with some value, lucky for her she had her sewing machine with her or she would be jobless. She needs another roommate and posts an ad on internet.
Lincoln travels a lot for photo shoots, he only stays in the city for a couple months every year, and those months he needs somewhere to stay. He finds Jenny’s ad and writes her a message. The next day he’s moving in.
Jenny is shy, awkward and doesn’t leave the apartment unless she has to. Lincoln is wild and free, hoping from place to place.

Details:
- H’s 30 years old and h’s 23 years old.
- Virgin h. Nothing about H.
- No OP drama.
- Epilogue 2 years later.

Cassie did it again. She made a story about awkward shy (tend to be a shut-in) h; made her fell in love with an extrovert photograph. Casse made the story progress seamlessly from awkward introduction to annoyed/uncomfortable situation to fascination to love to HEA. *sigh*
Readers could easily see how both MCs fell for each other bit by bit and they both completely tumbled down sweetly together.

Dared by My Roommate is a fun fast story that will warm your heart, make you laugh and have you wanting Jenny and Lincoln to find their HEA.

When Jenny's previous roommate takes off, the cleaned out the apartment and took the microwave......Really....??? So now she just wants someone to leave her alone and pay their half of the rent.

Lincoln is in town only to do a photo series, when he came across the ad for the apartment, it might have seemed a bit off, but it would work for him. When he meets Jenny, he knows he wants more, but she is stand offish.

Jenny and Lincoln's story is a great tale that will have you smiling as the navigate to find what they both need.

dared by my roommate was soooo good to read about. i never thought this book would take me a short amount of time to read this book. reading about jenny and lincoln was incredible to read and definitely one to witness. she lived her dreams with him and it was so good. one issue though is that i was reading a spicy scene then the last chapter entered them being married two years later. i do wish cassie mint, would write about what lead up to them getting married. this book was also one to put down since it was addicting. to see jenny was afraid of lincoln but she got out of her comfort zone makes things relatable. they both might've had some ups and downs but i'm glad things worked out in the end. i would love to see a sequel of this book.

For one, I don't remember any dares at all. She just up and decided to be more courageous and outgoing instead of an introvert and for what? To impress a guy basically. Ah to be young and dumb all over again... yeah, this book is cringe when you get down to it. It was fine but I find it absurd how many of these books have drop dead gorgeous guys and women who think they are invisible... It's like putting a jock with a science nerd, not really believable - at least not while you're in school. Later in life, yeah, maybe. The way she depicts Lincoln... yeah I wouldn't believe he was a photographer at all. Maybe a biker. Definitely a player.

The book was meh at best. Like most of these though, can't say I believe any of the feelings they have for each other.

This book is part of the multi author Shacked Up Love series. You can read the books in any orders they all standalone. Jenny and Lincoln's story is a short and steamy instalove between a woman afraid of the world and a man who is always traveling it. Jenny is pretty much a shut in, everything outside her apartment is too loud, too scary, too everything. When her roommate moves out, she's forced to find a new roommate. Lincoln needs a temp place to stay until his next job. Lincoln and Jenny are definitely polar opposites but somehow they work.

When her roommate stole from her Jenny put an ad out for a new roommate, Lincoln answered. They were totally opposite, Jenny was shy and never left home, Lincoln was a globe trotting photographer. That didn’t matter thought, they both had feelings for the other as soon as they met. When Jenny asked Lincoln to help her gain more confidence he jumped at the chance. He wanted to prove to her he could be her everything and her future the way she was his. Fun instalove story with great chemistry, heat and steamy and a beautiful HEA.

Lincoln and Jenny

She’s agoraphobic, afraid to leave her apartment, panic attacks with physical manifestations (symptoms) like diaphoresis (sweating), tachycardia (rapid heart beat), and tachypnea (rapid breathing). He’s bold and brave, traveling the world living life large, but feels like he’s missing something vitally important. They are both desperate for a roommate now. A sweet story: she learns to be brave from him and he finds she’s what’s missing from his life…she becomes everything to him…however, misunderstandings are what’s keeping them apart. A great HEA…finally!

Jenny, the female lead, has serious anxiety issues that keep her mostly housebound. Necessity causes her to advertise for a flat mate. Lincoln, the male lead, is a successful photographer looking for a short term crash pad. Then he meets Jenny and is intrigued by her. Now he needs to get her past her anxiety…

This short story is dual POV, well written, and with lovely character development as Jenny works to overcome mental health challenges.

Jenny needs a new roommate since the last one ran out on her with her TV, microwave and other belongings.

Lincoln is in town on assignment and needs a place to crash. When he spots her advertisement he's intrigued.

Once they meet face to face, things happen where neither expect. The attraction is hot!

I loved how Lincoln was there to assist her when she wanted to come out of her cocoon!

I truly enjoyed this read 📚!.

Bring your own microwave! Jenny (h) is a quirky young woman with anxiety issues who suddenly finds herself in need of a new roommate (and a microwave). Lincoln (H), a worldly photographer responds to the rather unusual roommate ad and finds himself drawn to Jenny. He helps draw Jenny out from her withdrawn life and wants to be more than just a roommate to her. Things get hot and steamy between the two in this instalove, opposites attract romantic novella. Fun quickie read!

She was the one he never knew he was looking for and he was the reason she took the courage to go out in the world. They are each perfect person for what they need, sealed with love.

The FMC grew a lot under the love of our MMC and the she before and after are a lot different. I guess that’s what love will do for you.

It’s a good “growing up” and “being there for you” book.

Lincoln and Jenny were really cute together. These two are drawn to each other as soon as they meet but Jenny is very shy and don't know how to "people" very well. I really liked how Lincoln didn't want to change anything about Jenny but supported her on her way to be brave for herself. I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Cassie as great author.
