[THIS SERIES IS INTENDED TO BE READ IN NUMERICAL ORDER]
Abe Moss has been writing horror stories for as long as he can remember, and hopes to never stop. He loves creature-features, psychological horror, supernatural horror, cosmic horror, you name it. With each book he writes, he hopes to try something a little different. The possibilities are endless and that's what he really loves about storytelling. He hopes you'll enjoy his stories, too!
In the beginning I seriously had my doubts about a series holding my attention through 5 books. I started Stephen King's Dark Tower, years ago, & while I liked it COULD NOT get past book 3. I finished book 4 of THIS series & literally counted down the days till book 5 came out. Started book 5 feeling SAD that it was almost over LoL!!! Got an email talking about book 6 coming July 2022!! Seriously!!?! I thought book 5 was it? 😃YAY!!! 👏🍻 I'M SOOO HAPPY!! Book 5 left off with a H@#% of a cliff hanger! I'm lookin at a 3 1/2 month wait for book 6 to come out, but it's all good because I'm THRILLED it's not over yet!! SO imaginative & unpredictable- every book! I love all 4 characters, they seem like people I would want to meet. The twists in this story keep me eager & excited for more! Well done!!
Not a real review, but ASDFHFKEJSVSJDB July 6 might as well be an eternity away! This is the first book in the series that ends with a true cliffhanger, and I am DYING.
Somewhat real review: I couldn't put this book down. That is true with all the books in this series, however. Things get a lot more graphic in terms of violence and swearing, and the plot is really amping up. As always, the character development is lovely and heartbreaking, and I simply adore every character.
If you haven't picked up this series yet, what is keeping you?!
...
NOTE (Maybe-not-really-a-spoiler): As with any of my reviews, I WILL mention if there is dog death, so bear that in mind if I do not explicitly warn of such an event. /Hinthint
I loved this book, the fifth in the series. Hux is a “travellor” who gets called into the void when an evil presence needs to be taken care of. Through the first book we meet Tessie, a woman with some special powers, whom he lives with. He rescues Nell, a teenager, in the first book. She also has some powers it turns out. This 5th book is very intense as people trying to get Nell back and are very dangerous. The three of them, and friend Lisa, fight to keep themselves protected. It is all very exciting. With each book there is a new conflict that needs to be taken care of and it keeps your interest all the way through.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I always tell myself when I start a book by Abe Moss that I'm going to pace myself so I don't read the whole book in one sitting. Well, that never happens. His books just suck you in and before you know it, it's 2:30 in the morning and your work alarm is going to go off at 7! This book was no different. The story just grabs you right from the get go. The Dread Void books have been an incredible series. I love the relationships that have built between the main characters and how the characters themselves are finding out who they are in this messed up world. Will Hux, Tessie, Lisa and Nell be able to fight what is coming? If you haven't read this series...get on it! You won't regret it! Highly recommend!
It's still a good series, but this isn't as strong an entry for me. Felt like a slow burn without much of the monster goodness we're here for, it wrapped up/addressed some things we were after.
It's hard for me to imagine Abe capturing the astounding way he knocked my socks off in book two of this series. It had so much great action and incredible monsters and heart-dedtroying tragedy, I'm not sure if he'll ever be able to go to the moon twice.
Btw, anybody new to Abe Moss's works or having only reas this series, the book that blew me away and had me seeking all his other works was the first one I ever read, Under a Wicked Moon. I still highly recommend that, it is a he**uva thing.
I cannot find words good enough to describe this book. Abe excels himself in his writing and imagination. The main characters each have an agenda of their own and yet they they intertwine and come to together to protect each other. It contains everything I like in a book; mystery, danger, horror, fear, love, humour, family protection and more. It is well written and although I couldn't read it fast enough, I didn't want it to end. Brilliant. Keep them coming Abe. I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily leave an honest review.
What an intense ride!!! This story had a few similarities (Hux being called by the Void to handle problems in the world) and yet lots of new additions. You learn a little more about Nell and her mom and Tessie's family. This was a non-stop action filled book. The ending gives you a hint of what is coming and it looks like it will be a huge battle. I can't wait until the next book in the series is released!! I didn't want to put this one down.
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Abe Moss never disappoints when he releases a new book. I have loved this series and the characters. Not a moment goes by that you don't open one of his books as feel that you've stepped into the home of an old friend. You feel involved in their every step of solving the problem's they face. I know you will enjoy the mystery in each book of this series.
I received this book as an ARC from the Author for an honest review.
Tessie has to learn to cope with what she lost in the previous book. Nell gets to really talk with her mom in this one, I hope that she can be "rescued" and cured at the end of the series. Amongst everything going on in this book, still get a unique trip into the Void with Hux and a tag along this time. I almost felt sorry for the: "they're only babies". Abe Moss is definitely a go to author.
Things never seem to settle down for long for this group of friends. Tessie and Lisa go on a bizarre trip to get Tessie's powers back and she get so much more than that! Nell's father and his goons are going after Nell yet again. They seem to have a device that controls the Void and have captured Hux!
Nell finally meets her mother, with the help of Hux. Tessie is determined to keep Nell and Lisa safe and makes some enlightening discoveries to help her in her goal. Another entertaining page turner by the author which had me hooked.
The Dread Void series have been immensely enjoyable. This book is a little slower paced than the previous one but complete with unexpected turns of events that leave me eager for the release of the next book.
Once again the spell has been woven. Each of these books have been a great adventure. If u have not read then start now. U will not be disappointed. Abe Moss at his best.
Really enjoying this series. Fast pased, strong characters, good story line with twist and turns. I enjoy the author's writing style. This book picks up right where book 3 ends and leaves with a huge cliffhanger. Can't wait for the next book.
This series continues along in impressive fashion, with more character development, an intriguing new location (the sun castle), and a previously secondary character who steps forward in a big way!
I read several books at one time and most of them are series. This series gets read faster than the others. Absolutely fascinating! Highly recommend it and all of Abe Moss’s books.
Oh my gosh, these books are addicting! Stephen King take a back seat, Abe Moss, by far, outshines him. Best yet is there's NO political influence. I've read other Abe Moss books prior to this series. Abe Moss, my new favorite horror author. Now, on to Book 6!
