Angelica and Zayn, her best friend Cordi’s brother, were nearly inseparable as children. As they grew older, that closeness disintegrated. Fondness transformed into hatred and the distance between them grew.
Cordi was Angelica’s closest childhood friend, but her brother’s presence seemed to follow them like a dark shadow as they grew. Knowing he didn’t like her, Angelica tried to avoid him at all costs, while keeping her friendship with Cordi intact.
As time went on, Angelica saw less and less of Zayn. That was until she was invited to his wedding and two words were spoken in front of the entire congregation, ‘I object.’
Tropes: - hate to love - best friend’s brother - childhood friends to enemies to lovers - “I’ve always loved you” - 🦋dirty talk🦋 - femdom
POV: first person - dual
Type: stand-alone
Angelica has always believed that Zayn hated her. But when he’s up at the altar and finds out his bride has cheated on him, the truth revolving his feelings towards Angelica are bound to be revealed. Especially when he tries to kiss her one night.
A million times yes. This was so good, I can’t even put it into words.
Just read it. Especially if you like it when the heroine is the dominant one in the bedroom… or other places since they did it just about everywhere.
Lizzie Lioness delivers yet another masterful romance in her own unique way, telling the enemies-to-lovers story of Angelica and Zayn. Zayn is Angelica's best friend’s brother, for whom she had always secretly carried a torch. Pity he always saw her as his sister's annoying friend... Fate intervenes, and Zayn unexpectedly has to deal with a heartbreak he never saw coming. Could Angelica be exactly what he needed all this time?
As the romance between Zayn and Angelica heats up, the steam level rises exponentially and Lizzie spins a sexy, addictive web that will keep you hooked until the very last line. With plenty of laughs and heartbreak along the way, this is a realistic, yet dreamy romance that I would highly recommend.
I am so happy I found this book from BookTok. I was hooked on Angelica and Zayn from the start, they were so hot and spicy. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other and I couldn’t put this book down! {also I really love the cover so I have to get a physical copy}
•Tropes - best friends brother / childhood friends to enemies to lovers / dirty talk
•Spice - 3.75/5🌶
•Fave Quotes Who the fuck was this girl? She was the sweetest, kindest and most freakiest fucking girl I’d ever met.
He was eating me like he was dehydrated, trying to find the only source of nutrient left in the world to survive…. and my 🐱 was his lifeline.
Mostly didn’t care for the writing; a little too juvenile. It’s written in 1st person but oddly felt like 3rd person. Like the dual POV, and Zayn’s was much better than. Angelica’s.
MCs we’re likable together and had good chemistry but the best friend? LoL. For someone who knows now much Zayn and Angelica dislike each other she sure had no problem constantly leaving them alone together 🙈
Dunno maybe if I kept reading that’s part of the plot but sadly just couldn’t continue.
This was a cute story overall. I really wanted to give it 4 stars but I struggled with the repetitive writing style. There also felt like a lack of depth for all of the characters. The hot spots were very… 🌶️🥵 so I’ll definitely give her points there.
I wanted to DNF the book within the first 10 pages. Why did I not do it? It was so cheesy and laughable that I had to see how it bad it got.🤣🤦♀️ The writing style is just sooooo weird. While it was written in 1st person POV, the actions were very choppy and reminded me of 3rd person POV. Ex: "I found myself a little thirsty and needed to stretch my legs." Who thinks that way in their internal monologue?!?!? ABSOLUTELY NO ONE! Everything about this book was anticlimactic. I'm honestly baffled by all the 5 star reviews...
Lizzie Lioness has done it again! Love To Hate You is a sizzling page-turner that delivers a perfect combination of enemies-to-lovers, best friend's brother, and hate-to-love tropes, making it a winner for anyone looking for a quick, light, and spicy read.
The story follows the journey of Angelica and Zayn, whose relationship has been limited to nothing but bickering and unwavering sexual tension until fate intervenes and changes everything. As they navigate their way through their newfound attraction, Lizzie masterfully develops their characters and relationship, making it all the more realistic and relatable.
The writing style is both descriptive and accessible, and the pacing is excellent, keeping the reader engaged and invested in the story until the very last page. What's more, the roles are reversed, with Angelica taking charge of the relationship and Zayn playing the part of the smitten one. And of course, LOVE ME a sexually confident female MC who takes charge behind closed doors! wink wink
LTHY is a sweet and spicy read that will leave you wanting more. With its perfect blend of romance, humor, and heartbreak, it is a book that everyone will enjoy. Hats off to Lizzie Lioness for another masterful romance novel!
PS: A big thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of her book, which has a cover that I absolutely adore. In exchange, I have offered my candid review of the book.
Well this was definitely a different slant on the left at the alter theme. To be honest I’ve always wanted to read one where someone says ’I object’. It was as good as I had hoped. Looking for more of those.
And as they say, there is a fine line between love and hate. Especially, when it’s being used to deflect from how they are really feeling.
Zayn was so loyal to his family that he let that dictate who he fell in love with, even though his heart still yearned for the forbidden. So he pushes the girl he wants away be being insufferable and in turn, she returns the favour by staying away. But the heart wants what the heart wants. And a group to Vegas changes everything.
A brilliant read, had me from the very first page. Oh and you must read the acknowledgment section, right to the end, lol.
This is my second time reading this beautiful book. I first read this on a free reading app years ago. I just had to read it again, after all these years bc I absolutely love Lizzie’s writing style. I’ve followed her from day one of me finding her & her amazing books.
Zayn & Angelica’s story is written so beautifully, with a bumpy beginning.. that eventually turns into a magical love story of true love. Their dynamic is fabulous, even a bit “maddening” in the beginning. His sister and her bestfriend, Cordi is a spitfire that just resonates with me! She’s written perfectly, with such precision.
**I only noticed a couple of spots with spelling/grammar errors. So that was refreshing to see.**
What a cute, & fun little romance read. With a side of spice. If you haven’t read any of Lizzie Lioness’s books, give her a try.
The story of Zayn and Angelica is w wonderful story. A best friends brother and hate to lovers all rolled into one. And things aren't always as they seem Angelica assumes Zayn hates her and that's why he is always mean and rude but it's just the age old story of a boy trying to hide his true feelings. This book has it all a disastrous wedding a friends trip to Vegas and a whole lot of heat through in a few misunderstandings and a jealous ex and you have one hell of a book.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book another example of great writing from Lizzie Lioness 100% recommend this book and author.
I've read this book on other platform and once it was released, i bought it and re read it. In total i have read this book already 5 times already. Yes, i know i'm crazy but this is how good this movie is. Enemy check, lover check, steamy sex check, trust check, best friend's brother check and the most important check is that the heroine is the one that is dominant in the bedroom. Lizzie did her best to bring this book alive and you will not regret buying it as for sure you will love it and i would highly recommend it.
I seriously don’t have enough words to explain how beautiful and sexy this book was . I love love zayn and Angelica chemistry is every department especially in bed. They fit so well together. I love the fact how she’s so dominating in bed and the way she talks dirty. She knows how to make a guy happy and I love it . I love every emotion between them. This book was like a movie which I keep watching without any pause . So so lovely. This is my 2nd book of Lizzie and I love it . I love how she writes . She creates magic with her writing . Thankyou so so much for this wonderful book.
Thank you Lizzie for sending me your book. I love a good best friend's brother romance. This book was sweet but spicy and I enjoyed it. I normally do not like miscommunication but there was so much going on that I didn't mind it. I liked how the roles were reversed where she was the one pushing and not the guy. I loved the writing style and how it was descriptive but nothing where it is too complicated. I hope to read more of Lizzies books in the future!
I absolutely loved this take on best friends brother. I loved how she was so sweet and innocent and in the bedroom she was anything but. and he was really just the most amazing guy. Loved it
A from enemy to lovers kind of story, funny and sexy with just a perfect amount of drama to make the storyline thrilling but light-hearted. The erotic scenes are beautifully described to leaves you breathless.
The spice is top notch in this enemies to lovers story. I just wished there was more information regarding why the main characters fought other than they had feelings the whole time. Otherwise, good, quick read.
Such a fun spicy read. You get an upset at a wedding, best friend's brother, and enemies to lovers romance in one. I enjoyed the banter and heat between Angelica and Zayn. The author did a wonderful job in bringing the tension between these two into a sweet romance.
A good trope, I love that in this book the female is the dominant one. You don’t often see that in books, they’re normally the submissive. Lots of good spicy scenes and a nice love story included.
